Important Concepts
Website
It is set of hosted web pages which gets served in browser with a domain name.
Each website has its own unique name called domain name, and a hosting space on
hosting server to store the web pages. A website is the basic requirement before doing
SEO since we optimize websites for search engines.
Keyword
The search term/query we enter into the search engine for searching something is called
a keyword. Different keywords have different monthly search volume and competition.
Keyword Density
Keyword density is how many times a keyword appears in a article/content .e.g. if a
keyword appears 3 times in 100 word article then its density is 3%
Important Concepts
Blackhat SEO
SEO practices and tactics not done as per search engine guidelines to inflate the search
engine rankings. E.g. keyword stuffing, doorway pages, cloaking
The search engine result page (SERP) for any keyword/query displays list of websites,
where each entry of the list consists of title, url and meta description (or a piece of
content sometimes).
Step 1: Keyword Analysis/Research
Onpage SEO: Changes made on the website for the purpose of SEO
Go to Google Adwords and sign in with your Gmail ID
Click on “Tools” folowed by “Keyword Planner”
Under “Find New Keywords” select the first option “Search for new keywords…”
Fill out all sections accordingly; fill in generic keywords pertinet to your line of business add product categories/sub-categories, add/remove locations, then
click on “Get Ideas”
Select “Keyword Ideas” You can make changes/edits from these fields as well
Download
Select option accordingly and download
• Open the downloaded file
• select the column called “Average Monthly Searches”
• Sort if from largest to smallest
• Make sure you expand the selection and then Sort
Now you have the keywords with high average monthly searches and then you can go
ahead with selection of your keywords

title/description/keyword
as shown in the

your competitors are using

Sign in with your Gmail ID

Fill out all fields accordingly and don’t forget to mention the website you want to track

Search Engine Optimization

  • 2. Important Concepts Website It is set of hosted web pages which gets served in browser with a domain name. Each website has its own unique name called domain name, and a hosting space on hosting server to store the web pages. A website is the basic requirement before doing SEO since we optimize websites for search engines. Keyword The search term/query we enter into the search engine for searching something is called a keyword. Different keywords have different monthly search volume and competition. Keyword Density Keyword density is how many times a keyword appears in a article/content .e.g. if a keyword appears 3 times in 100 word article then its density is 3%
  • 3. Important Concepts Blackhat SEO SEO practices and tactics not done as per search engine guidelines to inflate the search engine rankings. E.g. keyword stuffing, doorway pages, cloaking The search engine result page (SERP) for any keyword/query displays list of websites, where each entry of the list consists of title, url and meta description (or a piece of content sometimes).
  • 4. Step 1: Keyword Analysis/Research Onpage SEO: Changes made on the website for the purpose of SEO Go to Google Adwords and sign in with your Gmail ID
  • 5. Click on “Tools” folowed by “Keyword Planner”
  • 6. Under “Find New Keywords” select the first option “Search for new keywords…”
  • 7. Fill out all sections accordingly; fill in generic keywords pertinet to your line of business add product categories/sub-categories, add/remove locations, then click on “Get Ideas”
  • 8. Select “Keyword Ideas” You can make changes/edits from these fields as well
  • 11. • Open the downloaded file • select the column called “Average Monthly Searches” • Sort if from largest to smallest • Make sure you expand the selection and then Sort
  • 12. Now you have the keywords with high average monthly searches and then you can go ahead with selection of your keywords
  • 13. Website Analysis: Visit http://trial.sitebeam.net/ Competition Analysis: Visit competitor website and follow the next steps Right Click on an empty space and click on view page source or the shortcut Ctrl + U
  • 14. Press Ctrl + F to find title/description/keyword as shown in the screenshot; this will give you an idea of what keywords/title/description your competitors are using
  • 15. Google Analytics Sign in with your Gmail ID
  • 16. You will see this screen if you are a new user. Just Click on Sign Up
  • 17. Fill out all fields accordingly and don’t forget to mention the website you want to track Click here when you are done

  • 22. Sign in with your Gmail ID and enter the URL of the digital property (website) you want to monitor and maintain your site's presence in Google Search results . It helps you understand how Google views your site and optimize its performance in search results. Webmaster Tools is now Search Console
  • 25. Your Search Console Dashboard with all the parameters based on which you can track the performance of your website
