SDO Urdaneta City Conducts Capability Building Activity for Carer Guidance Advocates
- 1. By Hazel B. Calivo The City Schools Division of Urdaneta City conducted a 3-day Division Capability Building Seminar-Workshop for Career Guidance Advocates of Elementary and Secondary Schools of Urdaneta City last November 26-28, 2018. The activity was conducted to help school guidance coordinators to creatively plan and implement career guidance programs in schools. The CSDU Youth- Information coordinators and proponents of the said activity, Mr. Jumil D. Sarmiento and Jeru V. Sagaoinit helped the guidance coordinators in crafting their work plans and how they will successfully carry out these plans in their respective schools. Moreover, Atty, Shiela Joan Barrozo, Legal Officer III of CSDU comprehensively discussed the roles of guidance coordinators in schools. She mentioned that being a guidance coordinator is not limited to providing career guidance orientation to learners but also on how to handle issues and concerns regarding Child Protection Policy. The conduct of the said event builds a strong partnership between the school and the division personnel in promoting personal, social, educational and career development of learners. The SchoolGuidanceCoordinators of Urdaneta City are working collaboratively on thegiven activity.
