UICS and UCNHS wins Division-based Search for Most Functional Libraries

The Urdaneta I Central School and the Urdaneta City National High School won first place in the search for the most functional elementary and secondary school libraries in Urdaneta City. Among 19 schools that qualified, five elementary schools and four secondary schools made it to the final round. The Urdaneta I Central School and the Urdaneta City National High School will now represent Urdaneta City Schools Division in the regional competition later in November. The goal of identifying the most functional libraries is to improve student access to quality teaching and learning resources.

Calivo The Urdaneta I Central School and the Urdaneta City National High School won 1st place in the Division-Based Search for the Most Functional Elementary and Secondary School Libraries last November 11, 2018 at CB Mall Events center. Among the 19 schools that succeeded in the cluster-based elimination, only five schools qualified for the Most Functional School Libraries. The five schools that qualified for the Elementary School level are Urdaneta I Central School, Labit East Elementary School, Cayambanan Elementary School, Badipa Elementary School, and Catablan Integrated School. Meanwhile, Cabaruan National High School, Cayambanan National High School, Palina East National High School, and Camantiles National High School qualified for the Secondary School level. The UICS and the UCNHS will serve as the representatives of Urdaneta City Schools Division in the first Regional Search for the Most Functional School Libraries which will be held on the third and last week of November 2018. The conduct of the search for the most functional libraries in the division and regional levels aims to improve accessibility and usability of school libraries. This is in line with the Department of Education’s key thrust of raising the quality education by improving access to quality teaching and learning resources. Photo Credits:Almera S.
