Robert was very talented, already attending school for piano by the age of six.
Music, writing, and literature were all a consistent and integral part of Schumann s upbringing and
stayed in his life well into his adulthood. His skills as a pianist were growing and he also started to
gain an interest in writing novels as he was getting older. Robert faced his first great hardship at the
age of sixteen when his father and sister both died. His sister tragically ended up committing suicide.
Before his father died he conditioned that in order for Schumann to receive his inheritance he would

removes its authenticity and in turn, its intrinsic value. In his essay, Faking Nature, Robert Elliot

Gail Fancher is the professor who has had a monumental impact on me. She has encouraged me to
always go new opportunities and to strive to go outside of my comfort zone. Additionally, Gail
believed in me before I even believed in myself. Her confidence in me as a dedicated student led her
to nominate me to be my college s student ambassador. Through this opportunity, I have been able to
speak at a state level recognition banquet when I was selected as Western Technical College s Student
Ambassador, and I was also able to speak at Western s commencement ceremony this year. This has

Women Are Not Objects For Women
Women are NOT Objects For as long as many can remember, women have had a difficult time dealing
with things that men have been able to do with ease. For example, throughout history, it has always
been said that men were the only ones allowed to vote for their future president, whereas women were
not. Another example was back in the 60 s when women were advertised with sexist jobs such as
being house wives while men were to be treated courteously (Sex Appeals in Advertising). With that
said, when women were getting noticed a lot more, many men found it difficult to accept that since
men basically ruled over women. However, currently, the laws and regulations that women have are
completely different than how they were before but women are still fighting a common trend that
occurs throughout the entire world. Women are seen as sexual objects to men when they desire
pleasure which allows for men to control the situation. Therefore, should women be objectified as
