Korean, Korean And South Korea Essay
Korean is one of the world s oldest living languages, and its origins are as obscure as the origin of the
Korean people. (Hallen) Since it s origins, the Korean language has been puzzling to westerners
unfamiliar with this literally foreign language. Most Americans are familiar with Korea and it s divide
because of the Korean war in the 1950 s, yet their culture and language are not as acknowledged as
they should be. Although Korean is only an official language in North and South Korea, people speak
it all over the world. To unlock the mystery of Korean, it is necessary to look not only at it s
geographic and social elements, but also the structure of the language, including its alphabet and
numerical system, and in doing so myself I was able to gain a new respect for the language.
As mentioned above, Korean is primarily spoken in North and South Korea with 72 million people,
however it expands far beyond it s tiny peninsula. In China, two million people speak Korean as their
fist language and 700,000 people in Japan. This is logical considering Korea sits right between the two
nations. This also explains the heavy influence both nations have on the language. Other nations
where Korean is spoken as a first language include the United States with two million speakers, and
the Russian regions of Kazhstan and Uzbekistan with 500,000 speakers. (Korean Language History)
In the United States, Korean is the third most spoken language in Virginia and Georgia.

Thesis On Code Switching
Students Language Attitude towards Classroom Code Switching in the Institute of Teacher Education
Chapter 01
The Problem and Its Background
Language as a medium of teaching is one of the common factors in the teaching learning processes. In
terms of instructions, some learners fail to do such tasks due to misconception or misunderstanding.
Oftentimes, they were also inattentive in class interactions due to the teacher s use or choice of words
whenever he/she is explaining. In today s 21st century education, it is a fact that seventy percent of
class performance is given to the students while the remaining thirty percent is allotted to the teacher
as entitled to be the facilitator. Throughout the instruction, classroom practices which adopt ... Show

skills?
Significance of the Study
The study gives essential information regarding education students negative attitudes towards
classroom code switching. Using qualitative and quantitative approach, the awareness of the
disadvantages of code switching in English class will be calculated. Therefore, the formation of
programs encouraging the use of the English language in communication skills will be developed by
the institute to enhance students performance and competence in the use of the English language in
communication skills.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study
The study was limited to fifteen students from each program, the third year BSE (Bachelor of
Secondary Education) and BEED (Bachelor in Elementary Education) who are enrolled in English
subjects for S.Y. 2016 2017 in the Institute of Teacher Education in Isabela State University, Cauayan

The Pros And Cons Of Prisoners Of War
Prisoners of War are individuals, whether a soldier or civilians, who are captured as a prisoner during
an armed conflict. In the middle ages the modern law was the source relating to the treatment of
Prisoners of War. However, today the modern foundation of international law relating to the Treatment
of Prisoners is the 1949 Geneva Convention. During the Korean War conflict more than 7,500
Americans were detained by the Chinese Communists with only 3,000 returning home. It has been
stated that approximately 1,500 were tortured and 1,800 died of diseases and famine. During the
Vietnam War, the Red Cross Commission requested information regarding the Prisoners of War being
held by the North Vietnam, which they immediately dismissed the request. Therefore, between 1963
and 1971 it has been estimated that 127 American POW died in the Vietnam Prison. Subsequently, in
1973 the Paris Peace Agreement allowed 682 American POW to return home. Though, the
whereabouts of over 3,000 Americans soldiers missing in action and the question does the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam know the whereabouts of these missing solider has remained contentious for
years. During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, Saddam Hussein repudiated the International Red Cross
Commission to examine Iraq s Prisoner of War facilities, even though both Iraq and the United Stated
had ratified the 1949 Geneva Convention Treaties. Upon inspection, it was reported that while
incarcerated 25 American POW, which included

Animal Lab Experiments
Animal lab experiments have long been a controversial issue especially among animal rights activists.
There has always been a conflict between scientists relying on animal laboratory research for medical
advancement, and animal rights activists that are against the abuse of animals within these research
facilities. Despite a series of U.S. federal regulations such as the Animal Welfare Act, the abuse of
animals in medical laboratories still remain a problem.
In 1986, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released an undercover video called
Breaking Barriers. The video highlights the atrocious conditions of chimpanzees and other primates in
a medical laboratory in Maryland formerly known as SEMA. The disturbing video show how these
primates are isolated in sealed cages in unhygienic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They need the necessary social interactions, physical touch, and activity to be healthy. However, the
longer these animals are trapped in these cages, the more they developed certain neurotic behaviors.
For example, they began to make these erratic movements within their cages, constant rocking, head
banging, and self mutilation. The senses of the primates are distorted in these double sealed cages.
They can only hear the humming of air pumps into their enclosures and the sound of their fellow
primates banging against the cages.
The adult chimpanzees that are infected with viral diseases are locked in a dark cage without any type
of stimulation or walking. These isolated chimpanzees can remain in this horrible condition for fifty
years. The baby primates are separated from their mothers and some die in the cages before being
infected with any virus. Other primates are sick from neglect and suffer facial abrasions. The
disturbing conditions at the SEMA facility caused such uproar among animal rights activists, that

The Wage Gap, Worker Discrimination And Varying...
In terms of attributing to the wage gap, worker discrimination and varying preferences occurs largely
based on views surrounding what jobs are male or female dominated. Although worker discrimination
and wage discrepancies are a reality in Brazil, the labor market conditions for women are becoming
better over time. Despite gender segregation in the labor market, the wages of women are sometimes
evenly or positively affected. For instance, For industries and occupations where women receive
higher remuneration than men, we observe that women have higher education levels, indicating that
their higher remuneration is due to individual characteristics (Madalozzo 165). Even though a positive
correlation has been observed regarding women s education level and wage, in general, men still
benefit more based on their individual characteristics, which is why they are generally paid more.
According to Madalozzo, This difference in pay is decreasing but was still a significant 15.4 percent,
on average, in 2007, and ...the present study improves the quantification of this wage gap, showing
that the trend of a decreasing gap remains, but is losing pace overtime (165 66). In order to combat the
presence of the wage gap, policies regarding bettering women s education and incentivizing women to
enter the labor market should be implemented because the current system discourages women to enter
the market. According to Galor and Weil, ...increasing women s relative wages reduces fertility by

Allusions In The Iliad
Homer s Iliad refers to an ancient epic Greek poem. The poem is based on the events of the Trojan
War, the siege of the Troy city by a combination of Greek states that took almost ten years. The poem
outlines the events and battle that took place between the Greeks and the Trojans. The events captured
in the poem cover a few weeks to the end of the war. However, the poem contains deep Greek
mythical allusion. It describes the great Greek legends involved in the siege, the events that occurred
before the actual war such as meeting of the warriors planning the siege, the reason and the foundation
of the battle and the events that happened in the beginning. It further illustrates prophesies of the
future such as the death of the Troy (Iliad, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the battle.
The two heroes have supernatural powers that help them in their battle against each other. Both of the
warriors look forward to the support of the gods to win the battle. It is only with the aid of the deities
they can have the ability of defeating their opponents. Hector calls for sacrifices and prayers to the
gods for them to succeed in the fight against the Greeks. The two warriors exhibit significant
stubbornness when the honor issue is at stake. Achilles refuses to lead his army and fight after
Agamemnon robs him of his battle prize. Achilles refuses to join hands with the other forces even
after his wife pleads with him not to do so.
At the end of the fight, the warriors exude with confidence to beat each other, they go for each others
neck without fear. Achilles manages to slay Hector. On the other

Analysis Of Clip Analysis Un Chen Andalou
Clip Analysis
This clip is from the 1929 movie, Un Chien Andalou. This film uses two specific formal choices that
illustrate it s surrealism, including discontinuity editing and close ups. Discontinuity editing in this
film went against Hollywood s continuity rules of seamlessly blending scenes together that not only
made narrative sense, but visual sense as well. However in Un Chien Andalou, these rules are broken
by obscure, random images that don t seem to fit together and lack any narrative sense. In the clip, we
see a scene of a man staring at his hand where ants are crawling out of a hole, then we see an image of
a person s underarm hair that soon transitions into a picture of a sea urchin. These series of images
don t make much sense when put together, yet they illustrate the surreality of the mind and how our
thought patterns often lack any significance. The swarming of the ants in the hand is an example of
lack of pattern because it symbolizes the fragmented or swarming images of our mind. These scenes
are not only non linear, but they are also discontinuous and show that our reality is constantly
evolving; we walk away with a different interpretation of the movie each time. Another formal choice
that Un Chien Andalou uses is the close up, we see this used in the first few minutes of the clip when
the women s eye is cut. The use of the close up in this scene brings this grotesque act to the forefront,
where we cannot help but look away every time we see it.

Cricket Exothermic Essay
Elias Kachadoorian
Metabolic Rate of Crickets
Introduction:
The Acheta domesticus, house cricket, has an average metabolic rate of 36.19 (Kolluru, Chappell, and
Zuk 2004). The cricket is an ectothermic organism which means that it has no ability to create heat
inside its own body and must rely on outside sources. (Kolluru, Chappell, and Zuk 2004). An
endotherm by contrast is an organism with the ability to maintain homeostasis including temperature
without the need of outside sources. Warm blooded endotherms, such as humans and most mammals,
maintain a constant body temperature independent of the environment. Birds, and some fish also
classify as endothermic organisms. Endotherms have methods of controlling their internal
temperatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, a drop in temperature will decrease the rate of metabolism. This is supported by the graphs
shown above. The ice temperature decreased metabolic rate when compared to the rate at room
temperature. The individual sets of data received by the individual experiment varied among each
other, but overall supported the hypothesis and achieved similar results.

Language is our primary source of communication. It s the method through which we can share ideas
and thought with others. It is an essential to every aspect and interaction in our everyday lives.
Without it, we wouldn t be able to inform others around us on how we feel, what we desire or even
question and or understand the world around us. Over the years, English language has become one of
our principle assets in getting a global leadership role. It comes to our aid in our commercial

Oldest And Most Important Disciplines Of Forensics
1. Abstract
Bloodstain pattern analysis is one of the oldest and most important disciplines of forensics. Its
importance and validation increases when used in combination with other evidence in court.
2. Introduction
Bloodstain pattern analysis is the interpretation of bloodstains found at a crime scene where a
bloodshed incident had occurred. Bloodstain pattern analysis can define events that could or could not
have occurred during the incident. This means that it is possible to sequence multiple events
associated with this incident. Bloodstains are reproducible phenomena when a similar environment is
used, hence the possibility of reconstructing a crime scene.1
Bloodstain pattern analysis uses principles of biology, physics and mathematics.2 It considers blood
behaviour, cohesion, capillary action, velocity, geometry, distance and angle. External forces such as
impact and accelerated motion, cohesive forces due to surface tension and viscosity, gravity and air
resistance will affect blood in a predictable way. This allows the analyst to determine the general
nature of the event that occurred, based on the physical characteristics of bloodstain patterns.1
Reconstructing a crime scene using BPA is of high importance, since it will help include or exclude a
potential perpetrator from the investigation.
2. Background
Bloodstain pattern analysis depends on the perception and the ability of the analyst to have an
objectified opinion. Therefore, a true taxonomic BPA

`` Negroland And Fun Home `` By Margo Jefferson And Alison...
In Negroland and Fun Home, Margo Jefferson and Alison Bechdel both view their individual lives and
identities as interacting with history. However, their perceptions of history differ vastly in that
Jefferson identifies herself as both a spectator and player in a giant game of sociocultural history,
while Bechdel perceives national history as a tape reeling alongside her life, shaping her worldview
but serving as a backdrop amidst her individual life. In Negroland, Jefferson relates to and traces the
sociocultural and racial history of Negroes that has shaped her niche in modern society and drastically
changed her expectations and perspectives. In contrast, Bechdel does not explicitly cite history as an
influential force but rather hints ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, expectations and conventions are imposed upon members of Negroland, such as Jefferson, so
that they embody the privileges that arose over time from a complex and dynamic social hierarchy.
For Jefferson, personal and racial histories are heavily interconnected, as denoted when she makes
references to various historical and familial figures. Tracing the evolution of this hierarchy through the
ages from the Civil War up to the present, Jefferson cites a fellow chronicler of Negroland, Anna Julia
Cooper, the daughter of a slave and a slaveholder, a Black Woman of the South who criticizes the
masculinist need to dominate domestically, nationally, and internationally; Cooper s collective voice
for the oppressed parallels Jefferson s personal concern with race, gender, and class. However,
Jefferson also emphasizes the collective Du Boisian double consciousness that Negroes in the Talented
Tenth and in Negroland must face, thinking about Them as Us, forced to dismiss aspirations and
professional duties and accept those in lower strata as equals (Jefferson 34). Jefferson undergoes a
double consciousness of her own in her childhood as well, when she is forced to conform to
expectations due to her status as an upper class Negro, expectations which force her to be ambushed
by insult and humiliation even though these expectations are set to prevent errors and

Analysis Of The Daily Life Of Edna s, The Awakening s...
Waverly Leonard
Part I Reading Journal, ch.s 1 13
Plot Summary:
These first thirteen chapters chronicle the daily life of Edna Pontellier, The Awakening s protagonist.
The novel opens on Mr. Pontellier; he is smoking a cigar and reading the newspaper while idly
observing the life and activity around him. The novel turns its attention to his wife, Edna Pontellier.
She is described as rather handsome than beautiful and has a face with a certain frankness of
expression, an intriguing description if there ever was one. She is accompanied by Robert Lebrun, the
son of Madame Lebrun, the owner of the house at which the Creole aristocracy stayed on the Grand
Isle. They are rather close companions; Robert has chosen to follow her around for the summer, as is
later revealed to be his custom. It s revealed that Edna is an American woman from the old Kentucky
bluegrass country. As the day progresses, Chopin details the tiny minutiae of married life that have
disappointed both Leonce and Edna; Leonce feels hurt by her dismissiveness He thought it very
discouraging that his wife, who was the sole object of his existence, evinced so little interest in things
which concerned him, and valued so little his conversation... while Edna resents his overbearing
conventionality An indescribable oppression, which seemed to generate in some unfamiliar part of her
consciousness, filled her whole being with a vague anguish. The Pontelliers reconcile before Leonce

aa100 assignment 1. octavian versus plutarch on anthony
Assignment 01
Compare and contrast the ways in which the passage below attempts top discredit Anthony with the
ways this is done in the speech attributed to Octavian die ( in reading 1.1 of book 1. Chapter 1.)
It is very obvious when reading both passages that whilst Plutarch and Octavian had similar but also
differing opinions about Mark Anthony and his relationship with Cleopatra, they are both guilty of
putting their own negative spin on the situation. They both use different approaches to the subject but
the end result is the same. Anthony is portrayed as a man who has lost his way and in doing so, has
sunk to the lowest levels of society .The one thing they both agree on, is that Cleopatra had a very
negative effect on Anthony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He cites several cases where Anthony disregards his fellow roman man e.g. on one occasion Octavian
discovered the contents of Anthony s will to his disgust. he had left orders that his body should be
carried in state through the forum but then sent to Egypt to be with Cleopatra this was seen as being a
huge insult to the roman empire. He also cites several while he was sitting on the tribunal
administering juice to kings and tetrarchs, he would receive love letters written on tablets of onyx or
crystal and starts to read then aloud. Plutarch makes it very clear that Anthony should have not
allowed himself to behave like a love stuck puppy but stood up to Cleopatra and behave like a man of
honour.
When we compare Octavian s passage, his thoughts are quite different. He believes Anthony was a
man bewitched. He argues that no man in his right mind would behave in such a scandalous way
.without thought or caring for his fellow noblemen. He say she is either blind or accursed and so being
enslaved by her he plunges into war with all its attendant dangers which he has accepted for her sake
against his country and fellow noblemen.
Looking at both passages we see the similarities but also see the differences...it is a great example of
the problems we have trying to make sense of ancient history. Ancient historians never collected facts
or proof.

Stage two of the process is research proposal, in my situation the proposal was oral, during the first
stage my wife and I discussed the cost of conducting research for the program and we discussed the
pros and cons of the program, the decision was made that the benefits to the business and the
customers outweighed the cost. Our instructors were included in the decision concerning the plan of
conducting research, at this point a lot of my instructors volunteered to assist. The initial proposal like
mentioned before was oral, in the proposal we explained the primary question of the research, would a
boot camp style program fit our current training schedules and thinking, the overall answer was yes it
did. The cost of the research was going to be minimal, the reason for this was that we decided to
conduct the research ourselves and not hire a firm, some of my instructors have conducted research
activities at work and we decided to use some of their expertise, this saved the business some initial
cost.
Third stage of the process is research design, we decided on using a survey, this survey would ask a
simple question, would you be interested in participating in a boot camp style training program ; the
survey would also have various health benefits that would be achieved by doing the boot camp. We
designed the survey to fit individuals in our area and age groups, our targets were the mid teens to the

A Short Note On The De La Literatura

Babette s Feast Essay
Simplicity for God
In the movie, Babette s Feast (Gabriel Axel 1988), the story centers around Martine and Philippa, two
sisters living in a protestant parish in Jutland. For them, food is for sustenance rather than pleasure.
Unexpectedly, a refugee from Paris shows up at their doorstep. The woman s name is Babette and she
is taken in by the two sisters. Having lost everything at the hands of a vengeful revolution, Babette
rebuilds her life around the bland gastronomy of the parsonage. Having previously led an extravagant
life in France, the food in Jutland is a shocking change. The parsonage values simplicity in order to
become closer to God. By removing the temptations of food and drink, they completely devote their
lives to learning about their Christian faith. They believe that man should refrain from drinking or
eating for more than he needs to remain alive. The film tells the story through nonlinear editing, as it
goes through a transitional period showing the sisters when they were young, and how they turned
away successful suitors in order to stay with their beloved father in Denmark because love and worth,
[are] merely empty illusion. Having himself established the small community, the father is valued by
both sisters as the ultimate guide to salvation. The film focuses on the simplification of its storytelling
in order to highlight the complacency towards the Holy Spirit.
For the people in the parsonage, fashion serves as a sense of conformity in order to

Epicurism, Five Cosmology And The Gods
The readings we had to do for last week was helpful being familiar with Epicureanism. It is definitely
interesting to see as time progresses, that some people follows Epicurist (Later Epicureans) and some
people disagrees with Epicurist (Non Epicureans). The assignments I have been reading talks about
Epicurism, Five Cosmology and The gods.
Epicurism believes that to gain knowledge about the universe, we should rely solely on our senses. we
can and must rely on the senses to gain knowledge of the universe, when we do so, we discover a
world without purpose or plan In my Philosophy class, we are learning about Descartes. Descartes is a
man of reasoning, and he thinks senses are unreliable. It is very interesting to acknowledge

Life, School And College Life From High School
College life is very different from High School. Longer classes in some cases longer break periods,
and trying to balance your life at work, school, and home can be very overwhelming for most
students, making it very important to have a schedule and daily planner to better balance life at school
and home.
Creating a schedule and managing my time for myself has been both surprisingly easy and difficult.
My mornings from Monday to Thursday are the same for me as it was in High School. I would wake
up at 6:20 am, get dressed, eat breakfast, walk to the bus stop, wait, ride the bus to my High School,
enter my school, and wait until 8:00 am for class to start. Now instead of walking to the bus stop, my
mom gives me a ride to my uncle s house because he works near Pierce College and I ride with him to
school. He drops me off around 7:40 am and I wait until English 101 begins. Afterwards, once English
101 at 9:30 am I have a half hour break to eat lunch until Counseling 40 begins. Finally, at 11:30 am
Counseling 40 ends I wait in the library till 12:00 pm and walk to the Orange Line bus stop. And I ride
the bus and can be home by 1:30 pm. Afterwards, I would relax for an hour before I would work an
essay or read a chapter for an hour, then I would watch TV till 7:00 pm for dinner. My Friday s and
weekends are usually free days for me, I only occasionally have to do chores, study, homework, or
stay at Grandma s on Saturday night. Leaving Sunday as being more or less a lazy day for

Lou Gehrig s Disease Research Paper
Lou Gehrig s Disease or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a collection of rare neurological
diseases that affect the motor neurons that control the voluntary muscle movements. ALS is a
progressive neurodegenerative illness that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS is a
disease that belongs to a wider group of disorders that are known as motor neuron diseases. This is
caused by gradual deterioration and the death of motor neurons. Amyotrophic comes from the Greek
roots that mean without nourishment to muscles . Lateral means to the side and refers to the position
of the destruction in the spinal cord. Sclerosis means the hardening of the spinal cord.

awkwardness in walking and running or find that they are stumbling more often. The symptoms of
ALS may affect facial muscles, swallowing and speech. ALS is not usually considered painful. If
motor neurons in the lower spinal cord are involved, movement in the torso, neck and limbs may
become affected or lost. ALS is a disease that eventually taking away the ability to walk, dress, write,

The Stark Law Essays
The Stark Law
Some federal statutes address fraud in government health care programs, and many of these laws vary
considerably (Krause 2004). Some of these laws specifically target health care fraud. Example of the
laws that the government direct at inappropriate health care activities includes the Medicare and
Medicaid Anti Kickback Statute and Ethics in Patient Referrals Act (EPRA).
In 1989, Congress enacted the Ethics in Patient Referrals Act. Commonly known as Stark law,
Congress named it in honor of Rep. Pete Stark, a Democrat from California, and original sponsor of
the bill (Sprague 2004). This law places limitations on self referrals by physicians and prohibits
physicians from referring patients to organizations in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Considering the provisions of the Stark law, it is clear that Congress enacted the law to curb the self
referrals that were prevalent among medical practitioners due to the sprawling specialty hospitals and
health facilities (Choudhry, Choudhry, and Brennan 2005). Furthermore, Congress saw the need to
prevent a physician s referral decision that is dependent on a selfish, financial gain. The idea was to
preclude overutilization of certain health care facilities that may arise from objectionable referrals and
the resultant increase in health care cost (Staman 2010).
Congress created the Stark law, which is compiled as Section 1877 of the Social Security Act, as part
of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989, Public Law 101 239, 103 Stat. 2423 (1989); the
Stark law is codified at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn. In 1993, Congress passed the Omnibus Budget
Reconciliation Act that significantly amended the Stark law, and the amendment is commonly known
as Stark II (Staman 2010). In essence, Stark I and Stark II were not created as stand alone laws but as
provisions in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliations of 1989 and 1993. The Stark law defines a
financial relationship at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn to include either (1) an ownership or investment interest
in the entity or (2) a compensation arrangement between

An Introduction To Admittance And Impedance
#1:
Immitance is a general term to describe admittance and impedance. Impedance is the measure of
opposition to energy flow (sound) into the ear at the plane of the tympanic membrane. Admittance is
the total energy flow through the vibrating system. Immitance audiometry is a test battery using
acoustic impedance or acoustic admittance to estimate hearing sensitivity and function of the middle
ear system. Impedance is typically measured as compliance now. Tympanometry is the test battery for
measuring the compliance of the ear in equivalent volume across a range of pressures. It provides an
estimation of hearing sensitivity and middle ear function in relation to ear canal volume, compliance,
and middle ear pressure.

If the pressure is not within that range, it could suggest Eustachian tube dysfunction.
The compliance, or mobility, of the tympanic membrane is also noted as a tympanometric compliance
value. Compliance is measure in cubic centimeters (cc) or milliliters (ml). The point on the pressure
scale where the maximum compliance occurs is essentially equal to middle ear pressure of the ear
tested and is known as the point of maximum compliance. The peak compliance should be within the
range of .2 cc to 2.0 cc. If the compliance is considerably lower than .2 cc, it may lead to a diagnosis
of tympanosclerosis or otosclerosis; however, if it is much higher than 2.0 cc, it may imply ossicular
disarticulation or a hypermobile tympanic membrane.
Compliance is plotted over a range of pressures on a tympanogram. There are five possible types of
tympanograms that may result from the test: type A, type As, type Ad, type B, and type C. A type A
tympanogram suggests a normal conductive system functioning. The peak pressure is noted within the
normal range ( 150 daPA to 50 daPa) and the point of maximum compliance occurs within a normal
range (.2 cc to 2.0 cc), as well. The ECV should also fall between .65 cc and 1.75 cc. There is no
indication of a middle ear pathology if a client receives a type A tympanogram. It is important to note
that this test battery is not designed to detect a sensorineural hearing loss, because it solely reports
outer and middle ear functioning.

Jealousy By William Shakespeare s Proverbs
In Proverbs 6:34 it is written, For jealousy makes a man furious, and he will not spare when he takes
revenge. Jealousy is an emotion that often makes each of us act and react in a bad way. Some pout,
some stomp the ground and shake their fist and still others yell and scream. Some people do all of
these things at the same time. Revenge is an act, based on an emotion. But is it formed from the same
emotion as jealousy? Or is jealous and revenge separate in formation and emotion? Many people find
revenge to be an extension of jealousy, anger, envy, etc. and are therefore similar in both formation
and emotion. I believe jealousy and revenge are separate emotions yet similar in formation. Jealousy is
an emotion but revenge puts that emotion into action. Jealousy is an emotion tinged with feelings like
anger, insecurity, fear, and resentment. (ppedia). Jealousy isn t something we can control most of the
time. It is a natural, built in emotion that we all experience at some point. Most of the time jealousy
comes from self pity and insecurity. Hands down, insecurity is the most common source of jealousy
writes Dr. Seth Meyers in Psychology Today. Curbing our jealousy can be difficult, but it is necessary
if we want to move forward and have healthy relationships. Uncontrolled jealousy often causes people
to do things they wouldn t normally do. Small, self perceived insults add fuel to flame our already
heightened emotions. This uncontrolled emotion can lead to

There is a darkness here that Kinsella reflects on, one that gives him an insight into the man Mr. D
once was. Dick King is perhaps Kinsella s most poignant (sad) take on the nature of darkness and
decay. For me, it both laments the loss of the titular King, and also celebrates his life. When he thinks
of the dead man, the port experiences feelings of love. The poet personifies death and imagines it
moving through our minds, igniting / Love . Yet there is a darkness in the way Kinsella refers to King.
He calls him a plague something that constantly bothers him. He cannot forget him. Dick King
appears always as an old man to Kinsella, because he only knew him as such: You haunt with the taint
of age . The ghost, however, is a benevolent (kind) one: Kind plague. The poem suggests King s later
years involved suffering. His dread years lay ahead of him, meaning the old man feared getting old
and decaying. The image of Dick King making his wintry bed suggests great loneliness and suffering,
as well as a pragmatic preparation for his decline into death. While the spectres of darkness and decay
are not as overtly present in Model School as Kinsella s other poems, knowledge of them is certainly
forming in the young Kinsella s mind. The poet s religion classes bring him face to face with

Synthesis Of Esters
Esters aromas are very distinct and often pleasant, they are often used in food aroma and fragrances.
Esters chemical properties are distinguished by their low molecular weight and low boiling points,
caused by their dipole dipole and dispersion interactions; additionally, esters cannot form hydrogen
bonds. Esters are the result of a condensation reaction, in which a carboxylic acid, an alcohol, and acid
catalyst creates a water molecule and an ester. In a condensation reaction the carboxylic acid and
alcohol react in a way that causes at least one alkyl or benzene ring group replaces a hydroxyl(OH)
group. Amides like esters can be formed by a condensation reaction involving carboxylic acid, which
reacts with amine, to form an amide and water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the dried mass of the product the balanced equation of the reaction, between 4 aminophenol and
acetic anhydride can be calculated. The percent yield of said product can then be calculated by divided
the calculated mass by the theoretical mass. Using the characteristics of alcohols and pH, the 4
aminophenol and acetaminophen produced can be tested to categorize which are alcohols and the pH
of each. In the Cerium Test the reaction between [Ce(H2O)6]4+ and HO R(alcohol) will produced
[(H2O)5Ce O R]3+, the (R) group will produce a color change in the product allowing for the
characterization of a reactant as either an alcohol or not. In the Universal Indicator Test adding
universal indicator to an aqueous mixture of any alcohol, amide, or amine will result in a color
change, red for acidic and blue for basic. Then by using the knowledge that alcohols and amides
register as pH neutral and amines register as slightly acidic allows for the characterization of the
reactant as an alcohol or amide, or as an amine. In the last part of the experiment, an alcohol and an
acetic acid will react in an esterification reaction to produce an ester. Using the ester odors in the
known ester banks, the unique aroma of each ester will allow for a categorization of each ester
produced. Lastly, retrosynthetic analysis can be used to

Analysis Of The North American Market Richardson
In the North American market Richardson s has a strength in dominating particular regions such as
Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma where they receive 75% of their companies sales. This allows them to
have lower shipping costs and possibly lower advertising costs in the areas because they have regular
customers who are returning to buy items because Richardson s strong brand equity can bring trust
and low searching costs. Having most of their sales in a particular region is also a disadvantage for the
company because if something were to happen in that region that slowed down income for the farmers
in the area (drought or disaster) Richardson s sales would be in trouble. This is because the company
relies on a particular region for sales and the company is not well diversified within other regions of
the United States, which creates risk within such a specific market. Richardson Manufacturing has
seen a cumulative increase in net sales of 11% (Sheet 1, L4) within the domestic market which is great
because it shows their sales have increased over the past 4 years. At the same time, there is a lot of
volatility in the net sales as the growth percentage goes fro 2% to 19% and eventually back to only 7%
growth. This lack of consistent growth may mean a market that is changing or relying too much on
external factors and so Richardson s team should be aware of the variability. The cumulative net profit
increase of about 50% (Sheet 1, cell L18) shows that Richardson s net profit on

With this in mind, not only the environment plays the most important function in the restoration of
natural learning, but so does the recognition of the individual. This not includes the didactic materials
available for learning but also includes the nature and predisposition of the teacher. A teacher who is
unkind is forever remembered and imprinted on the experience of the child, and so it is that no teacher
should enter the profession without being thoroughly researched by the place of employment.
I remember a few of these unkind souls and forever remember their manner and the effect it had on
me. I simply did not wish to be there in the presence of these teachers, so went out of my way to stay
away. The harsh reality was that I failed to prosper in these classes. One has to ask if this is right and if
the essence of education is being missed. Reality and national results speak for themselves. What are
we producing in society today? We are in effect only producing human beings who are workers and
not free thinkers. Human beings who do not question, reason and think for themselves. This is where
education has lead humanity. Is this an aid to life or a long term obstacle that is too far gone to fix in

The restoration of balance in the cognitive structure also creates the ability to attain new and different
interactions with the environment. This accommodation causes a change in the cognitive structure and
if these situations are encountered again it does not cause an imbalance because the cognitive structure
has changed and that assimilation is no longer and issue. The dual mechanisms of assimilation and
accommodation, along with the driving force of equilibration, provide for a slow but steady

sensorimotor. With increasing experience, children expand their cognitive structure, enabling them to
better adapt to the increasing number of situations they encounter. The gradual decreasing dependence
on the physical environment and the increased utilization of cognitive structures is called
interiorization. (Olson amp; Hergenhahn, 2009) As the cognitive structure grows and develops it
makes more complex problem solving possible. As the process of interiorization continues, the child s
adaptive response becomes more covert; Piaget called these actions operations (thinking). The most
important characteristic of operations is it is reversible. Once something has been thought it can be
undone or unthought . As a child s cognitive structure develops, thinking becomes more important. In

punishment the man who attacked her received by carrying around a 50 pound mattress, of her
frustrations and disappointments towards her university (qtd. in Kim). The FBI says that rape is the
second most serious crime, after murder (Mantel). Sadly, about twenty to twenty five percent of
women will experience some form of sexual assault during the time ... Show more content on

Prosecutors and police officers may be less likely to believe victims if they have no signs of physical
abuse like cuts, bruises, or scrapes, or if they have known their attackers for a long time (Hilgenkamp
163). Victims often feel ashamed and humiliated for bringing their experiences forward and become
frustrated and furtherly emotionally damaged (Hilgenkamp 163). Dealing with sexual assault cases
differently based on the victim s state and story is unfair to the survivor and will only further hurt
someone who has already suffered through a traumatic ordeal since it causes them feel as though they
are not being listened to or heard. In addition to investigations that are often biased and poorly
conducted, the number of convictions made in sexual assault cases is astonishingly small. A few years
ago, The Chicago Tribune published the results of a study involving 171 campus sex complaints at six
Midwestern universities. Twelve of the accused perpetrators were arrested, and only four were
convicted (Hedelman and Brown). Due to the low conviction rates, many women feel as though their
allegations of having been sexually assaulted are not being taken seriously or even acknowledged
(Hedelman and Brown). Unfortunately, sexual assault is a popular crime on college campuses, but
when victims bring their stories forward to law enforcers, they are not taken seriously and severe
punishments are rarely given to assaulters, which further harms people who have already been
wrongly treated. Police and investigators have to change the ways in which they deal with sexual
assault cases because investigations are unfairly biased and are usually so inaccurately conducted that

What Is The Opening Scene Of Running Scared
Cold winds blow on a calm New Jersey night. Police sirens create crescendos that fill the air. The
moment you begin watching Running Scared, you will be placed in the middle of one of the most fast
paced, suspenseful films that will have you craving every running minute. Viewers eyes will widen the
very moment the opening scene is presented as he or she is thrown right into the action with the actors
themselves. Paul Walker works with New Line Cinema to bring a film for ages to come. This crime
thriller will reach every pleasure that movie watchers seek in an unforeseen film through its intense,
prodigious cinematography, suspenseful storyline, and synchronous soundtrack. Running Scared,
debuted in 2006 by New Line Cinema, was written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The camera is frozen on a still frame of Perello pointing his gun. From here, the film is reversed and a
flashback is shown to demonstrate where he had picked the gun up before. Afterward, a flash forward
shot speeds through back to the original frozen frame the film then resumes to Perello firing off his
firearm. In addition to the aforementioned camera cinematography, Running Scared also uses a variety
of subjective and cross cut shots. In one of the film s scenes, Gazelle s family is shown sitting at their
dinner table eating a meal. Gazelle says softly, Hey Nick, throw me some bread. just when a bullet
flies through the window from their neighbor s home interrupting their meal. When Gazelle goes to
investigate and discovers what had occurred, a flashback is shown alongside a cross cut shot that
shows the viewpoint of the bullet entering the window and whizzing past him and his family. This
allows viewers to see more than one viewpoint of the bullet s trail to piece together the entire scene.
Furthermore, just after the starting scene, a subjective shot is used to show Gazelle s viewpoint as he
looks forward while riding the back seat of a moving car. The camera constantly cuts out from his
viewpoint showing his face looking off in another direction. Just after Gazelle is calming down, we
are returned back to Gazelle s view as

The History Of The U. S-Turkey Relations
U.S. Turkey Relations: Lowlights In early October, the arrest of a Turkish employee at the U.S.
consulate in Istanbul prompted Washington to take an unprecedented, retaliatory measure. The U.S.
announced it would suspend non immigrant services to Turkey, its NATO ally of more than sixty
years. Turkey responded in kind. While the crisis has recently been partially diffused, the spat has
been called the lowest point in Turkey U.S. relations. Yet the two governments have had their
difficulties before. As a CFR task force described in a 2012 report, a mythology surrounds U.S.
Turkey relations, suggesting that Washington and Ankara have, through six decades, worked closely
and with little friction. While the overarching relationship has ... Show more content on

it would reject military aid after Congress decided to withhold a portion of funding pending a human
rights report. The Senate flirted with adding a condition that military aid not go towards domestic
security concerns. President Clinton eventually signed a bill that ten percent of aid should go towards
human rights causes in Cyprus and Southeast Turkey, but Turkey rejected that portion of the aid
package. 1998: Turkish refusal to allow U.S. usage of Turkey s bases to bomb Iraq Bulent Ecevit, the
Turkish deputy prime minister and the leader of one of the parties which made up a coalition
government, came out against Turkey s cooperation with a U.S. military campaign against Saddam
Hussein s Iraqi regime. Ecevit thought Turkey s regional interests would be hurt by their involvement
in any military action. Unless diplomacy is exhausted, a military operation will be dangerous and
Turkey will suffer the consequences, he said. 2000: Armenian Genocide Resolution When U.S.

  • 2. Korean, Korean And South Korea Essay Korean is one of the world s oldest living languages, and its origins are as obscure as the origin of the Korean people. (Hallen) Since it s origins, the Korean language has been puzzling to westerners unfamiliar with this literally foreign language. Most Americans are familiar with Korea and it s divide because of the Korean war in the 1950 s, yet their culture and language are not as acknowledged as they should be. Although Korean is only an official language in North and South Korea, people speak it all over the world. To unlock the mystery of Korean, it is necessary to look not only at it s geographic and social elements, but also the structure of the language, including its alphabet and numerical system, and in doing so myself I was able to gain a new respect for the language. As mentioned above, Korean is primarily spoken in North and South Korea with 72 million people, however it expands far beyond it s tiny peninsula. In China, two million people speak Korean as their fist language and 700,000 people in Japan. This is logical considering Korea sits right between the two nations. This also explains the heavy influence both nations have on the language. Other nations where Korean is spoken as a first language include the United States with two million speakers, and the Russian regions of Kazhstan and Uzbekistan with 500,000 speakers. (Korean Language History) In the United States, Korean is the third most spoken language in Virginia and Georgia. (Wideopencountry) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Prisoners Of War Prisoners of War are individuals, whether a soldier or civilians, who are captured as a prisoner during an armed conflict. In the middle ages the modern law was the source relating to the treatment of Prisoners of War. However, today the modern foundation of international law relating to the Treatment of Prisoners is the 1949 Geneva Convention. During the Korean War conflict more than 7,500 Americans were detained by the Chinese Communists with only 3,000 returning home. It has been stated that approximately 1,500 were tortured and 1,800 died of diseases and famine. During the Vietnam War, the Red Cross Commission requested information regarding the Prisoners of War being held by the North Vietnam, which they immediately dismissed the request. Therefore, between 1963 and 1971 it has been estimated that 127 American POW died in the Vietnam Prison. Subsequently, in 1973 the Paris Peace Agreement allowed 682 American POW to return home. Though, the whereabouts of over 3,000 Americans soldiers missing in action and the question does the Socialist Republic of Vietnam know the whereabouts of these missing solider has remained contentious for years. During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, Saddam Hussein repudiated the International Red Cross Commission to examine Iraq s Prisoner of War facilities, even though both Iraq and the United Stated had ratified the 1949 Geneva Convention Treaties. There has always been a conflict between scientists relying on animal laboratory research for medical advancement, and animal rights activists that are against the abuse of animals within these research facilities. Despite a series of U.S. federal regulations such as the Animal Welfare Act, the abuse of animals in medical laboratories still remain a problem. In 1986, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released an undercover video called Breaking Barriers. • 6. The Wage Gap, Worker Discrimination And Varying... In terms of attributing to the wage gap, worker discrimination and varying preferences occurs largely based on views surrounding what jobs are male or female dominated. Although worker discrimination and wage discrepancies are a reality in Brazil, the labor market conditions for women are becoming better over time. Despite gender segregation in the labor market, the wages of women are sometimes evenly or positively affected. For instance, For industries and occupations where women receive higher remuneration than men, we observe that women have higher education levels, indicating that their higher remuneration is due to individual characteristics (Madalozzo 165). Even though a positive correlation has been observed regarding women s education level and wage, in general, men still benefit more based on their individual characteristics, which is why they are generally paid more. According to Madalozzo, This difference in pay is decreasing but was still a significant 15.4 percent, on average, in 2007, and ...the present study improves the quantification of this wage gap, showing that the trend of a decreasing gap remains, but is losing pace overtime (165 66). • 8. Allusions In The Iliad Homer s Iliad refers to an ancient epic Greek poem. The poem is based on the events of the Trojan War, the siege of the Troy city by a combination of Greek states that took almost ten years. The poem outlines the events and battle that took place between the Greeks and the Trojans. The events captured in the poem cover a few weeks to the end of the war. However, the poem contains deep Greek mythical allusion. It describes the great Greek legends involved in the siege, the events that occurred before the actual war such as meeting of the warriors planning the siege, the reason and the foundation of the battle and the events that happened in the beginning. • 9. Analysis Of Clip Analysis Un Chen Andalou Clip Analysis This clip is from the 1929 movie, Un Chien Andalou. This film uses two specific formal choices that illustrate it s surrealism, including discontinuity editing and close ups. Discontinuity editing in this film went against Hollywood s continuity rules of seamlessly blending scenes together that not only made narrative sense, but visual sense as well. However in Un Chien Andalou, these rules are broken by obscure, random images that don t seem to fit together and lack any narrative sense. In the clip, we see a scene of a man staring at his hand where ants are crawling out of a hole, then we see an image of a person s underarm hair that soon transitions into a picture of a sea urchin. These series of images don t make much sense when put together, yet they illustrate the surreality of the mind and how our thought patterns often lack any significance. The swarming of the ants in the hand is an example of lack of pattern because it symbolizes the fragmented or swarming images of our mind. These scenes are not only non linear, but they are also discontinuous and show that our reality is constantly evolving; we walk away with a different interpretation of the movie each time. Another formal choice that Un Chien Andalou uses is the close up, we see this used in the first few minutes of the clip when the women s eye is cut. The use of the close up in this scene brings this grotesque act to the forefront, where we cannot help but look away every time we see it. 2. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Cricket Exothermic Essay Elias Kachadoorian Metabolic Rate of Crickets Introduction: The Acheta domesticus, house cricket, has an average metabolic rate of 36.19 (Kolluru, Chappell, and Zuk 2004). The cricket is an ectothermic organism which means that it has no ability to create heat inside its own body and must rely on outside sources. (Kolluru, Chappell, and Zuk 2004). An endotherm by contrast is an organism with the ability to maintain homeostasis including temperature without the need of outside sources. Warm blooded endotherms, such as humans and most mammals, maintain a constant body temperature independent of the environment. Birds, and some fish also classify as endothermic organisms. Endotherms have methods of controlling their internal temperatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, a drop in temperature will decrease the rate of metabolism. • 14. Oldest And Most Important Disciplines Of Forensics 1. Abstract Bloodstain pattern analysis is one of the oldest and most important disciplines of forensics. Its importance and validation increases when used in combination with other evidence in court. 2. Introduction Bloodstain pattern analysis is the interpretation of bloodstains found at a crime scene where a bloodshed incident had occurred. Bloodstain pattern analysis can define events that could or could not have occurred during the incident. This means that it is possible to sequence multiple events associated with this incident. Bloodstains are reproducible phenomena when a similar environment is used, hence the possibility of reconstructing a crime scene.1 Bloodstain pattern analysis uses principles of biology, physics and mathematics.2 It considers blood behaviour, cohesion, capillary action, velocity, geometry, distance and angle. External forces such as impact and accelerated motion, cohesive forces due to surface tension and viscosity, gravity and air resistance will affect blood in a predictable way. This allows the analyst to determine the general nature of the event that occurred, based on the physical characteristics of bloodstain patterns.1 Reconstructing a crime scene using BPA is of high importance, since it will help include or exclude a potential perpetrator from the investigation. 2. Background Bloodstain pattern analysis depends on the perception and the ability of the analyst to have an objectified opinion. Therefore, a true taxonomic BPA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Negroland and Fun Home, Margo Jefferson and Alison Bechdel both view their individual lives and identities as interacting with history. However, their perceptions of history differ vastly in that Jefferson identifies herself as both a spectator and player in a giant game of sociocultural history, while Bechdel perceives national history as a tape reeling alongside her life, shaping her worldview but serving as a backdrop amidst her individual life. Thus, expectations and conventions are imposed upon members of Negroland, such as Jefferson, so that they embody the privileges that arose over time from a complex and dynamic social hierarchy. For Jefferson, personal and racial histories are heavily interconnected, as denoted when she makes references to various historical and familial figures. Tracing the evolution of this hierarchy through the ages from the Civil War up to the present, Jefferson cites a fellow chronicler of Negroland, Anna Julia Cooper, the daughter of a slave and a slaveholder, a Black Woman of the South who criticizes the masculinist need to dominate domestically, nationally, and internationally; Cooper s collective voice for the oppressed parallels Jefferson s personal concern with race, gender, and class. However, Jefferson also emphasizes the collective Du Boisian double consciousness that Negroes in the Talented Tenth and in Negroland must face, thinking about Them as Us, forced to dismiss aspirations and professional duties and accept those in lower strata as equals (Jefferson 34). Jefferson undergoes a double consciousness of her own in her childhood as well, when she is forced to conform to expectations due to her status as an upper class Negro, expectations which force her to be ambushed by insult and humiliation even though these expectations are set to prevent errors and ... Waverly Leonard Part I Reading Journal, ch.s 1 13 Plot Summary: These first thirteen chapters chronicle the daily life of Edna Pontellier, The Awakening s protagonist. The novel opens on Mr. Pontellier; he is smoking a cigar and reading the newspaper while idly observing the life and activity around him. The novel turns its attention to his wife, Edna Pontellier. She is described as rather handsome than beautiful and has a face with a certain frankness of expression, an intriguing description if there ever was one. She is accompanied by Robert Lebrun, the son of Madame Lebrun, the owner of the house at which the Creole aristocracy stayed on the Grand Isle. They are rather close companions; Robert has chosen to follow her around for the summer, as is later revealed to be his custom. It s revealed that Edna is an American woman from the old Kentucky bluegrass country. As the day progresses, Chopin details the tiny minutiae of married life that have disappointed both Leonce and Edna; Leonce feels hurt by her dismissiveness He thought it very discouraging that his wife, who was the sole object of his existence, evinced so little interest in things which concerned him, and valued so little his conversation... while Edna resents his overbearing conventionality An indescribable oppression, which seemed to generate in some unfamiliar part of her consciousness, filled her whole being with a vague anguish. Having previously led an extravagant life in France, the food in Jutland is a shocking change. The parsonage values simplicity in order to become closer to God. By removing the temptations of food and drink, they completely devote their lives to learning about their Christian faith. They believe that man should refrain from drinking or eating for more than he needs to remain alive. The film tells the story through nonlinear editing, as it goes through a transitional period showing the sisters when they were young, and how they turned away successful suitors in order to stay with their beloved father in Denmark because love and worth, [are] merely empty illusion. Having himself established the small community, the father is valued by both sisters as the ultimate guide to salvation. The film focuses on the simplification of its storytelling in order to highlight the complacency towards the Holy Spirit. The assignments I have been reading talks about Epicurism, Five Cosmology and The gods. Longer classes in some cases longer break periods, and trying to balance your life at work, school, and home can be very overwhelming for most students, making it very important to have a schedule and daily planner to better balance life at school and home. Creating a schedule and managing my time for myself has been both surprisingly easy and difficult. My mornings from Monday to Thursday are the same for me as it was in High School. I would wake up at 6:20 am, get dressed, eat breakfast, walk to the bus stop, wait, ride the bus to my High School, enter my school, and wait until 8:00 am for class to start. Now instead of walking to the bus stop, my mom gives me a ride to my uncle s house because he works near Pierce College and I ride with him to school. He drops me off around 7:40 am and I wait until English 101 begins. Afterwards, once English 101 at 9:30 am I have a half hour break to eat lunch until Counseling 40 begins. Finally, at 11:30 am Counseling 40 ends I wait in the library till 12:00 pm and walk to the Orange Line bus stop. And I ride the bus and can be home by 1:30 pm. Afterwards, I would relax for an hour before I would work an essay or read a chapter for an hour, then I would watch TV till 7:00 pm for dinner. Some of these laws specifically target health care fraud. In 1989, Congress enacted the Ethics in Patient Referrals Act. Commonly known as Stark law, Congress named it in honor of Rep. Considering the provisions of the Stark law, it is clear that Congress enacted the law to curb the self referrals that were prevalent among medical practitioners due to the sprawling specialty hospitals and health facilities (Choudhry, Choudhry, and Brennan 2005). Furthermore, Congress saw the need to prevent a physician s referral decision that is dependent on a selfish, financial gain. The idea was to preclude overutilization of certain health care facilities that may arise from objectionable referrals and the resultant increase in health care cost (Staman 2010). Congress created the Stark law, which is compiled as Section 1877 of the Social Security Act, as part of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989, Public Law 101 239, 103 Stat. 2423 (1989); the Stark law is codified at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn. Impedance is the measure of opposition to energy flow (sound) into the ear at the plane of the tympanic membrane. Admittance is the total energy flow through the vibrating system. Immitance audiometry is a test battery using acoustic impedance or acoustic admittance to estimate hearing sensitivity and function of the middle ear system. Impedance is typically measured as compliance now. Tympanometry is the test battery for measuring the compliance of the ear in equivalent volume across a range of pressures. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the pressure is not within that range, it could suggest Eustachian tube dysfunction. The compliance, or mobility, of the tympanic membrane is also noted as a tympanometric compliance value. Compliance is measure in cubic centimeters (cc) or milliliters (ml). The point on the pressure scale where the maximum compliance occurs is essentially equal to middle ear pressure of the ear tested and is known as the point of maximum compliance. The peak compliance should be within the range of .2 cc to 2.0 cc. If the compliance is considerably lower than .2 cc, it may lead to a diagnosis of tympanosclerosis or otosclerosis; however, if it is much higher than 2.0 cc, it may imply ossicular disarticulation or a hypermobile tympanic membrane. Compliance is plotted over a range of pressures on a tympanogram. There are five possible types of tympanograms that may result from the test: type A, type As, type Ad, type B, and type C. A type A tympanogram suggests a normal conductive system functioning. The peak pressure is noted within the normal range ( 150 daPA to 50 daPa) and the point of maximum compliance occurs within a normal range (.2 cc to 2.0 cc), as well. The ECV should also fall between .65 cc and 1.75 cc. There is no indication of a middle ear pathology if a client receives a type A tympanogram. Jealousy is an emotion that often makes each of us act and react in a bad way. Some pout, some stomp the ground and shake their fist and still others yell and scream. Some people do all of these things at the same time. Revenge is an act, based on an emotion. But is it formed from the same emotion as jealousy? Or is jealous and revenge separate in formation and emotion? Many people find revenge to be an extension of jealousy, anger, envy, etc. and are therefore similar in both formation and emotion. I believe jealousy and revenge are separate emotions yet similar in formation. Jealousy is an emotion but revenge puts that emotion into action. Jealousy is an emotion tinged with feelings like anger, insecurity, fear, and resentment. (ppedia). Jealousy isn t something we can control most of the time. It is a natural, built in emotion that we all experience at some point. Most of the time jealousy comes from self pity and insecurity. Hands down, insecurity is the most common source of jealousy writes Dr. Seth Meyers in Psychology Today. There is a darkness here that Kinsella reflects on, one that gives him an insight into the man Mr. D once was. Dick King is perhaps Kinsella s most poignant (sad) take on the nature of darkness and decay. For me, it both laments the loss of the titular King, and also celebrates his life. When he thinks of the dead man, the port experiences feelings of love. The poet personifies death and imagines it moving through our minds, igniting / Love . Yet there is a darkness in the way Kinsella refers to King. He calls him a plague something that constantly bothers him. He cannot forget him. Dick King appears always as an old man to Kinsella, because he only knew him as such: You haunt with the taint of age . The ghost, however, is a benevolent (kind) one: Kind plague. The poem suggests King s later years involved suffering. His dread years lay ahead of him, meaning the old man feared getting old and decaying. The image of Dick King making his wintry bed suggests great loneliness and suffering, as well as a pragmatic preparation for his decline into death. While the spectres of darkness and decay are not as overtly present in Model School as Kinsella s other poems, knowledge of them is certainly forming in the young Kinsella s mind. Analysis Of The North American Market Richardson In the North American market Richardson s has a strength in dominating particular regions such as Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma where they receive 75% of their companies sales. This allows them to have lower shipping costs and possibly lower advertising costs in the areas because they have regular customers who are returning to buy items because Richardson s strong brand equity can bring trust and low searching costs. Having most of their sales in a particular region is also a disadvantage for the company because if something were to happen in that region that slowed down income for the farmers in the area (drought or disaster) Richardson s sales would be in trouble. This is because the company relies on a particular region for sales and the company is not well diversified within other regions of the United States, which creates risk within such a specific market. Richardson Manufacturing has seen a cumulative increase in net sales of 11% (Sheet 1, L4) within the domestic market which is great because it shows their sales have increased over the past 4 years. At the same time, there is a lot of volatility in the net sales as the growth percentage goes fro 2% to 19% and eventually back to only 7% growth.
