ArcGIS JavaScript API (build a web layer-based map application with html5 and...Stefano Marchisio
The "ArcGIS JavaScript API", sits directly on top of Dojo framework, providing developers with access to Dojo user interface widgets and all the other benefits of Dojo core. Whit this ArcGIS you can build a html5/javascript mapping applications and the api allows you to easily embed maps in your web pages. An ArcGIS application utilizes a layer-based (TiledLayer, DynamicLayer, FeatureLayer, etc...) geographic information model for characterizing and describing our world. An ArcGIS application asks what it need, through a http/rest service (the service will return images or json data - for example) hosted on the ArcGIS server. In this simple html5/javascript demo project (http://sdrv.ms/UGlW0p) you can find five examples that show the basic functionality of the mapping framework "ArcGIS API for JavaScript" (will be shown the basic functionality of the ArcGIS classes layer). You can download the demo code at this link: http://sdrv.ms/UGlW0p - There is also a video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/2IV29O0dW2M

The evolution of ArcGIS to the geospatial platform it is today is bringing about transformational change to organisations by helping to break down the barriers between workflows, processes departments, and disciplines. Sharing data and collaboration using geographic information have now become much quicker and simpler.
Hear from our CTO & Esri Evangelist Eamonn Doyle on how customers are using the Esri Platform in their organisations and Esri's plans for the future of the platform.
3D Documentation in Dangerous and Confined Spaces by Dr. Travis Doering, Ph. DMelissa Tiffany
The sites of some of America’s proudest moments and historical achievements are eroding and rusting away at Florida’s Cape Canaveral. Using terrestrial laser scanning in combination with aerial LiDAR, imaging, and geospatial
documentation, researchers at the University of South Florida are digitally preserving and conditionally assessing these structures to develop management and interpretive plans and curriculum to teach field methods and preservation skills to scientists of the future.

Visual Statement’s EdgeFX software has many built in functionalities to assist users with both crash and crime scene investigations. This workshop will focus on importing
3D Laser Scan data of an accident scene, including scans of the involved vehicles, into EdgeFX and using several of the built in tools to assist with a reconstruction of the scene. Built in tools such as a Crush Analysis feature, Linear Momentum Tool and Acceleration Data Manager can all assist in determining what may have happened based on the physical evidence captured of the accident scene.

Targetless Registration: By the numbers by David Dustin Melissa Tiffany
The latest iteration of FARO’s SCENE software (Scene 5.3) offers significant workflow improvements. Among them is the ability to scan targetlessly in a wide variety of environments. The ability to move quickly in the scene without concern of placing targets offers considerable logistic advantages. This technical workshop will present test data from several scans registered using conventional targets as well as utilizing the new Cloud to Cloud registration methods.
Using 3D Laser Scanning in Limited or Restricted Access Environments by Bria...Melissa Tiffany
Some environments present a challenge to obtain and accurately document existing layouts and as-built configurations to be used in planning modifications or developing accurate drawings. Limited access to areas due to environmental or operational schedules may prevent revisiting for data gathering opportunities.
Our FARO Inspired Journey: Past Present and Future by David DustinMelissa Tiffany
David Dustin is the President of Dustin Forensics
(formerly Dustin Productions) and has been creating
forensic animations and 3D crime scenes for over 10 years. He recently fulfilled contracts for advanced forensic training for the US Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory (USACIL). David will share his thoughts on 3D innovation and how the landscape will change not only for Law Enforcement and Accident Reconstruction, but for conventional surveying as well.
3D Scanning for 3D Printing: Making Reality Digital and then Physical Again, ...Melissa Tiffany
Using a series of compelling case studies, this updated presentation enhanced from just a year ago, will highlight the evolution, current capabilities, and future possibilities for realizing the potential of 3D scanning for 3D printing. Discussion will include background and observations on
the business of 3D scanning and 3D printing with clues to leveraging the explosion of 3D for other downstream design, analysis, and visualization demands. The practical challenges for converting 3D scan data into 3D print-ready files will also be discussed.
FARO 2013 3D Documentation Conference - Direct Dimensions on 3D PrintingDirect Dimensions, Inc.
Like 3D scanning, the business for 3D printing has evolved dramatically over the past 20 years. Today there are dozens of different scanning and printing technologies, scores of different scanning systems and printing materials, and hundreds of amazing applications for each. Scanning and printing has become critical in the fields of aerospace, automotive, architecture, and for many other industrial and consumer applications. As the digital world drives demand for more 3D content, both scanning and printing will play an increasingly important role in the accurate documentation of historic artifacts and sites; building, monuments and sculpture; and even movie and medical applications. Using a series of compelling case studies, this presentation will highlight the evolution, current capabilities, and future possibilities for realizing the potential of 3D scanning for 3D printing. Discussion will also include background and observations on the business of 3D scanning and printing and clues to leveraging the explosion of 3D for other downstream design, analysis, and visualization demands.
In this keynote presentation, Matthew will review the workflow process DeWalt used to capture an entire 200,000 sq.ft building in just 2 days with the use of a FARO Focus3D Laser Scanner, register the entire project without the use of any scan targets using SCENE, and upload the data using a new web-based application known as Web Share Cloud. This workflow solved many of the complications in the beginning stages of this project, and will continue to help the project through its lifecycle over the next couple years.
What is #PointCloudAnnotation? It is creating better data models for #MachineLearning algorithms!!

Laser scanning constitutes the deflection of laser beams. 3D Scanning involves the process of analyzing real-world objects for collecting data of shapes and appearance. The collected data is then used for constructing digital 3D Models, consisting of a polygon mesh or point cloud of geometric samples on the surface of the object.

The 2016 Remote Sensing Field camp will take the form of two projects.
A low tech, low cost aerial photography project using visible spectrum UAV/Ultralight Aircraft mounted cameras as the sensor to demonstrate that relatively low tech, low cost solutions can achieve surprisingly good results when compared to more commercial systems.
A more high tech, high cost terrestrial LiDAR collect of a building or structure of historical or architectural significance.
The scope of a project will influence all other aspects of the project, including its cost, timing, quality and risk.
In our effort to continually produce great and innovated software, I introduce to you our latest, the WAC eTool ! The first few pages show the overall power of SiteSync Pro, then dives into a sample use for the powerful new tool.
Wireless Applications’ WAC eTool is the new definition of the “everything” tool in wireless spatial analysis. This multi-functional tool offers many options to search, refine, and target the data you are looking for. With just a few mouse interactions, users can uniquely customize searching or selections to Portfolios, Structures, Microwave Paths, or their Designed paths, run point to point profiles and even see RF propagation contours !
The WAC eTool is the unique all-in-one enhancement tool that has taken SiteSync Pro to the next level. Searches involving radius, custom polygons or various boundary shapes, such as Counties, can now be done using one convenient tool. The WAC eTool offers easy interaction with your map and allows for the user to fine tune their selection process without settling for sub-par results. As a enhancement to our 'Drop-Pin' links, users can either continue with that process and /or instantly take an overwhelming set of data points and select out records that are most valuable! Push these into Portfolios to answer the next questions you need in your project!
