Enterprise Ireland International Selling Programme (2014/15) – I was appointed as a
Business Advisor to this programme to coach; support and advise four participants in the
development of an International Selling Plan for their respective organizations.
United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD) - In 2013 I designed and
delivered a course on International Marketing & Exporting including the training of local
consultants for the Palestinian Shipper’s Council. The course was targeted at local Palestinian

Bord Bia – “Convincing the Buyer to Buy from You”: I designed and delivered a tailored

Richard Keenan & Co. Ltd.: 2010 – 2012
General Manager – Client Services 2010 - 2012
Responsibilities:
Keenan manufacture feed mixer wagons and market nutritional services combined with
unique feeding technology to over 30,000 farmers in more than 40 countries. I had
responsibility for developing and implementing a Customer Service strategy and structure to
support direct sales to Keenan customers and partners in key markets. I had a broad brief
that involved me directly in many facets of the business such as Warranty & Quality,
Engineering & Technical support, Customer & Commercial services, New Product
Development, Training and the creation of Tele-marketing function.
Greencore Malt Ireland: 2008 – 2010
General Manager 2008 - 2010
Responsibilities:
I had full P&L responsibility for managing Greencore Malt (GM) with a turnover of €40m, 58
employees and production of 93,000 tonnes of malt destined for the brewing and distilling
industry. In addition I ran an Agri-Business that sold inputs to growers and procured up to
135,000t of malting barley through a network of branch stores. The role involved managing
all aspects of the business from key account management, commercial sales both local and
international, operations, manufacturing, quality and health and safety.
Waterford Crystal Ltd.: 1999 – 2008
Head of Customer Services and Distribution 2005 - 2008
Responsibilities:
I managed a team of 70 people including four direct reports with responsibility for all aspects
of Customer Service and the operation of the Distribution Centre. The Customer Service
department processed 410k order-lines p.a. and managed the customer order book from
order receipt to delivery and after sales service. The Distribution Centre
picked/packed/shipped in excess of 3.0m units p.a.; controlled the inventory of approx. 5,000
pallets of finished goods and managed freight to all markets around the globe. I was directly
accountable for the monthly shipping target.
International Sales and Marketing Roles 1999-2005
Business Development Manager – International Markets
Responsibilities:
I was responsible for developing new business and the profitable growth of the Waterford
brand in the luxury goods sector in International markets. I led a small team of five people to
manage a €20m annual sales budget across a diversified range of markets including – Russia;
EU Countries; Poland; Norway; Japan; Pan Asia; Australia; Caribbean; Canada; S.Africa;
Middle East. This included direct selling to key account retailers and the management of local
distributors and agents.
Market Manager – Direct Markets
Responsibilities:
I managed the commercial development of Waterford Crystal Brands in selected
International markets - EU countries; Russia; Caribbean and Middle East. The role included
key account planning, commercial negotiations and implementation of effective marketing
programmes.
During the period from 1999 to 2005, I was also appointed to two strategic projects of
significant importance to the growth and expansion of Waterford Crystal.
Working Capital Reduction Project Leader 2004
Responsibilities:
I was appointed to lead a cross-functional team from Waterford Crystal, working with a
specialist team from Accenture, to deliver a strategic programme to cut working capital and
operational costs. I directed all aspects of the project and delivered a 50% reduction in the
active product range, a €50m reduction in inventory and raised €20m in cash. I was
subsequently seconded to a project team tasked with restructuring the business,
implementing new business practices and achieving sustainable cost reduction.

Responsibilities:
I was selected to represent Waterford Crystal’s Divisional sales and marketing organisation
as a member of a cross-functional team to deliver a five year strategic plan for growth, in
association with McKinsey Company. We conducted a comprehensive industry analysis and
evaluation and a SWOT analysis of Waterford Crystal Division to identify potential strategies
for growth.
Irish Dairy Board (IDB), 1989-1999
Business Development Director (Loyez-Woessen, Lille, France) 1997 - 1999
Responsibilities:
I project managed the design and construction of a new state of the art butter packing facility
in Lille following IDB’s acquisition of Loyez-Woessen. I was then made responsible for the
integration of Loyez-Woessen into the IDB group and all new commercial development both
within IDB Group, in France and other World markets.
Regional Marketing Manager – Benelux and France 1991 - 1999
Responsibilities:
I led a team of six merchandisers and one direct report based in Belgium and France with
responsibility for the sales, marketing and strategic development of Irish dairy products
under the Kerrygold brand. I developed and implemented commercial and marketing
strategies and managed relationships with both local distributors and customers. My duties
also included key account management and commercial negotiations with major European
retail groups.

Greencore Malt Ireland: 2008 – 2010 General Manager 2008 - 2010 Responsibilities: I had full P&L responsibility for managing Greencore Malt (GM) with a turnover of €40m, 58 employees and production of 93,000 tonnes of malt destined for the brewing and distilling industry. In addition I ran an Agri-Business that sold inputs to growers and procured up to 135,000t of malting barley through a network of branch stores. The role involved managing all aspects of the business from key account management, commercial sales both local and international, operations, manufacturing, quality and health and safety. Waterford Crystal Ltd.: 1999 – 2008 Head of Customer Services and Distribution 2005 - 2008 Responsibilities: I managed a team of 70 people including four direct reports with responsibility for all aspects of Customer Service and the operation of the Distribution Centre. The Customer Service department processed 410k order-lines p.a. and managed the customer order book from order receipt to delivery and after sales service. The Distribution Centre picked/packed/shipped in excess of 3.0m units p.a.; controlled the inventory of approx. 5,000 pallets of finished goods and managed freight to all markets around the globe. I was directly accountable for the monthly shipping target. International Sales and Marketing Roles 1999-2005 Business Development Manager – International Markets Responsibilities: I was responsible for developing new business and the profitable growth of the Waterford brand in the luxury goods sector in International markets. I led a small team of five people to manage a €20m annual sales budget across a diversified range of markets including – Russia; EU Countries; Poland; Norway; Japan; Pan Asia; Australia; Caribbean; Canada; S.Africa; Middle East. This included direct selling to key account retailers and the management of local distributors and agents. Market Manager – Direct Markets Responsibilities: I managed the commercial development of Waterford Crystal Brands in selected International markets - EU countries; Russia; Caribbean and Middle East. Working Capital Reduction Project Leader 2004 Responsibilities: I was appointed to lead a cross-functional team from Waterford Crystal, working with a specialist team from Accenture, to deliver a strategic programme to cut working capital and operational costs. I directed all aspects of the project and delivered a 50% reduction in the active product range, a €50m reduction in inventory and raised €20m in cash. I was subsequently seconded to a project team tasked with restructuring the business, implementing new business practices and achieving sustainable cost reduction. I was then made responsible for the integration of Loyez-Woessen into the IDB group and all new commercial development both within IDB Group, in France and other World markets.
