PERSONAL PROFILE:
I have been involved in staff training since the early 1990s initially involved staff development with regard to security
issues and anti terrorist protection of company assets, for both my parent company and subcontracted to other
companies with assets around the world. This then led to working in Marketing and development of in house sales staff.
Following this I started working with Steppingstones and was involved in both internal and external training of staff and
clients in computer systems, as well as in the implementation of ISO9001 standards.
Since that time I have been involved in a range of work, with staff development and training closely linked to my roles.
This has involved contracting to the FEFC (Further Education Funding Council UK Ministry of Education) in the quality
administration of Easton College in preparation for FEFC and TSC inspection for the by HESA and FEFC, this contract
was due to failure in previous years for Easton to achieve needed quality standards across administration and education
standards. Following my 3 month contract Easton College achieved its highest grade in 10 years, putting it safely inside
the green zone for quality in Colleges. I had previously been involved in QA assessment with Prestige Medical. This
skill set has helped me in other roles, when I was working for Granville technology group as PR manager for the group
of 42 companies worldwide this skill allowed me to ensure that all PR was developed in line with improving the
company’s external and internal image.
In my time in Colombia I have been working for a range of companies, although primarily Universidad Sergio Arboleda,
my other work as ranged from contracts with the Ministry of Defence to private corporations in the oil and transportation
sectors, helping with second language acquisition through to marketing strategies and quality auditing. My work with La
Sergio started with teaching the law school's honours programme and led to auditing and redesigning the center of
languages.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
10/13 – 12/15 University Sergio Arboleda - Director El Centro de Idiomas
This role involved shutting down and relaunching the language center for Universidad Sergio
Arboleda do to issues with management in the past. During these two year redevelopment the project
was successful in the following areas:-
Renegotiation of material costs generating savings in addition to 240 million Colombia Pesos
per academic year.
Dealing with publishers to ensure highest level of staff training
Certification for all courses with Secretary of Education, Bogota and Ministry of Education
Colombia.
Certification with Instituo Cervantes to the highest level center outside of Europe.
Training of staff as certified TOEFL administrators and IELTS certified trainers.
Working partnership with the British Council
Certified Exam center for ETS, Princeton for TOEFL iBT, TOEFL ITP, TOEIC, GRE exams.
Raising student pass rates from 15% to 86%
Working partnerships with Beijing University, China, Sydney University, Australia,
Taking the Language center external by opening to the public, leading to contracts with a
range of government and private companies.
Being hired by other universities to retrain their staff in language acquisition.
