Optimism And Racism
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year. This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson
appears to be a charming, quaint sentiment, although a sentiment which is seemingly not applicable
to modern society. However, is it possible that each individual could establish an optimisitc,
sanguine attitude throught all the days of their life? In retrospect, I sincerely believe that this is
attainable, through a conscious, caring attitude to our thoughts.
Genuinely unadulterated optimisim and joy is so recherere in modern society. However, optimisim
and an audcaious thrist for a jovial life is wildly infectious. The significant question still stands.
How do we obtain this unshakeable optimism through the storms of life, through clossal challenges,
through unfair critisim and rejection?
When we see unabashedly optimisic indivudals who rejoice in life and modify the way we look at
this immense, vast, capacious world, we wonder how to procure what they have acquired? We
concede. We convince ourselves that they posess something we ... Show more content on

A commonly practiced technique includes observing an atrocious, unpreposessing situation and
detecting one outstanding, reedeming quality in the most horrendous situation. However, there are
numerous ways to stay optimsitic. There are no limits, as it all depends upon the individual.
Optimisitic inviduals are typically empthatic and compassionate. They view situations through the
eyes of others, which allows them to realize the magnitude of things they have to be thankful for.
This motivates and fuels their splendid attitudes. There are scads of ways optimists stay optimsitic
and keep their loving, joyful countenance in tact every day of the week, even through the trials,
tribulations, and storms of their life. It is important to strive to live optimistically, even if it is not

Essay on Loss In One Art by Elizabeth Bishop
One Art by Elizabeth Bishop is a poem that explores loss in comparison to an art; however, this
art is not one to be envied or sought after to succeed at. Everyone has experienced loss as the art
of losing is presented as inevitably simple to master. The speaker s attitude toward loss becomes
gradually more serious as the poem progresses.
Keys, having virtually no reason for emotional attachment, are mentioned in line 5 with a tone of
acceptance that, Yes, it is okay to lose keys. Although vital to the penetration of a lock, keys are
such a generic object that they can be easily replaced and, aside from the inability to open that
door, will not be missed for long. Lines 2 and 3 state that so many things seem filled with the intent

At this point in the poem, the speaker s attitude toward loss is rather blasГ© due to the fact that the
items she has misplaced holds no emotional attachment and can be replaced.
As the poem progresses, the misplaced or forgotten items become concepts such as names and ideas,
and therefore carry more of an impact. For example, forgetting someone s name, however not
uncommon, can be associated with feelings of embarrassment from the forgettor, and annoyance
from the forgotten when they discover that they were not important enough to be remembered. The
speaker simply shrugs off these losses because None of [them] will bring disaster, as mentioned in
line 9. Emotion, often associated with memories is introduced in line 10 when the speaker
announces, I lost my mother s watch. An item such as a mother s watch holds sentimental value,
unlike the previously mentioned keys; however, the speaker repeats, I miss them, but it wasn t a
disaster, (line 15) indicating that the watch was merely a material possession crowded with
memories. At this point, the reader recognizes the feeling of missing something associated with
greater losses of objects and ideas the speaker regards with more emotional attachment.
In line 16, the speaker s emotional attitude toward loss changes as it becomes evident that the
speaker has lost a person, yet they still view loss as a part of

What Caused The Haiti Earthquake
It is true that the earthquake exacerbated the water and sanitation problem in Haiti, but in reply to
the statement of the sanitation issue of water contamination, cholera started because of feces that
got into the Haitian s primary source of water.
Being curious of how the water in Haiti became contaminated, I found this article from the New
York time which stated that the United Nation accepts responsibility for the choleraoutbreak that
killed thousands of people in Haiti. It was reported that the office of Secretary General Ban Ki
moon admitted that the water contamination from feces that caused this devastating epidemic, was
in deeded started because of the United Nation actions (Katz, 2016). Furthermore, even the deputy

Over The Past Year, 12 Percent Of The Oceans Reefs Have
Over the past year, 12 percent of the oceans reefs have become bleached due to ocean
acidification. Ocean acidification and in turn coral bleaching, is due to carbon pollution causing
global warming, this makes the oceans warmer, thus making them more acidic. Coral reefs and
shellfish cannot survive these levels of acid in the water. In particular the Great Barrier Reef, one
of the seven natural wonders of the world, is suffering from this bleaching. The Great Barrier Reef
has been declining in recent years due to this acidification, however, as of recently it has come
knocking on death s door. Carbon levels started rising about 200 years ago during the industrial

An economic shortage would also occur because both the fishing industry and the shellfish
industry will simply have less products to sell. The consequences of ocean acidification don t just
affect the ocean, it directly affects humans too. Researchers documented the extent of the damage
the reef off the coast of Australia sustained during the 2016 bleaching event, and found that only
8.9 percent of more than 1,000 reefs escaped with no bleaching along a stretch more than 2,300
kilometers long (Kennedy). There have been 4 major bleaching events in the previous 20 years
that have affected the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. One happened on 1998,
another in 2002, and then one in 2016 and one in 2017. This is the first ever documented
occurrence of major coral bleaching happening two years in a row. The dying of the Great
Barrier Reef will hurt the Australian tourism economy. The Great Barrier Reef tourism
generates at least 5 billion Australian dollars a year or 3,297,000,000 USD, and employs nearly
70,000 Australians. The Great Barrier Reef is a huge source of income for Australia, and if it is
destroyed the Australian economy takes a huge hit and in turn thousands of people will be
affected. If the Reef doesn t do enough already, it also provides protection and a food source. The
Reefs dampen the waves that roll it, these waves can cause shoreline

Marc Antony s Speech
In the playwright Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, Marc Antony appears to be a
strong advocate for Julius Caesar s triumphs for more power. However, like Caesar, Antony is
extremely manipulative and powerful. After Caesar s death, Antony persuaded the conspirators into
trusting that he understood their intentions on executing Caesar and later asked if he could speak at
Caesar s funeral. While Brutus and the conspirators remained fooled by Antony s innocence,
Antony took the initiative to inform the citizens of Rome on the conspirator s horrendous actions
towards Julius Caesar, their beloved leader. Caesar s funeral was a time of reflection on the
citizens of Rome as Marc Antony questioned their allegiance to Brutus. Marc Antony s power has

He captures the emotions of the citizens as he makes his speech by stating his own emotional state
after the death of his trusted friend.
Some may think that Marc Antony changed as the playwright progressed; however, during Caesar s
funeral speech, Antony purposely tries to manipulate the citizens to his own advantage.
In order to manipulate the emotions of the citizens, Antony says:
If you have tears, prepare to shed them now./You all do know this mantle. I remember/the first
time ever Caesar put it on./ For Brutus, as you know, was Caesar s angel./Judge, O you gods, how
dearly Caesar loved him!/This was the most unkindest cut of all (Julius Caesar 3.2.164 178).
Antony used the emotions of the citizens to his advantage as he presented Caesar s dead body to
the crowd. He tells them to prepare to shed their tears because of the unkindness of Brutus blade
cutting a hole through Caesar s soul. The reason why Antony s power intensified is that people
were emotionally invested in his speech. Power didn t change Antony; it only intensified his

Impact Of The Industrial Revolution On The World Essay
Since the first time an image was transported to a laptop screen or a handheld device was used to
communicate to people in other countries, the world has been a system of calls, emails, texts, and
networks that are all categorized under the term technology. We started off with technology that
helped us forage for food or manage our livestock. However, tech today is a basis of
telecommunications and the use of different mechanical mechanisms that are seemingly robotic.
How far we have come from the beginning of the first civilizations to what we are able to do now
illustrates the impact of the industrial revolution and, some may say, tech revolution. We are still
booming and at every corner that is turned new advancements are introduced into society that was
not thought about before. It seems that we should be all tech savvy and a life without technology
would be a little unnerving to say the least. Others say that this dependence makes robots or us less
human. Throughout the research conducted on technology, there were news articles assumingly
concluding that we are humans merging with technology and turning into robots and another
similarly arguing that we need to become cyborgs or risk humans being turned into robots. These
may not be scholarly articles but are interesting to see and notice the perspective that people believe
to be true. The extremely absurd notion that we are so heavily dependent on technology that we
will turn into robots may actually be true.

Dunstable s Life In Fifth Business By Robertson Davies
Do you ever wonder why your life has taken the course it has? Was the path you chose sparked by
a particular moment from your youth? Or was it different incidents that have occurred throughout
your life? These are a few of the questions I am left with after reading the novel Fifth Business
written by Canadian author Robertson Davies. Originally published by Macmillan Canada in 1970,
this book is approximately 273 pages in length and takes about a week to complete. The novel
focuses on the story of the life of Dunstable Ramsay, a small town boy from Deptford, Ontario
who evolves from a child into an intellectual man looking for a meaning to his life. Dunstable
speculates on the past experiences of his life through a letter after retiring as a history teacher and

In his account, The involvement which he mentions is in reference to when his friend, Percy
Staunton, threw a snowball at him which accidentally hits Mrs. Dempster in the head and causes
her to fall. To make matters worse, Mrs. Dempster is pregnant at the time and this incident causes
her to enter labour early in which she eventually gives birth to a premature son. Even from the
beginning of the novel, Dunstable is concerned about how this one seemingly minor event can
have drastic impacts on not only the direction of his life, but also the effect everyone involved. As
the novel progresses further, you begin to realize that Dunstable is essentially a spectator who
explains accounts of other characters, eventually leading to his own discovery of his place in the
hierarchy of life. From his innocent experiences as a child, to his enlistment in the Canadian
military to fight in WW1, to his various ventures to Europe and South America to gain knowledge
about saints and magicians, Dunstable is constantly an observer of others lives as well as his

Expanding Our Lunch Period Essay
Expanding our Lunch Period
We re talking about our kids futures. Our schools need to be teaching our kids how to be healthy.
Nadine Burke Harris. Nadine Burke is an American pediatrician. She is the founder and CEO of
the Center for Youth Wellness. This facility focuses on children who have had bad childhood
experiences. Mrs. Harris is an educated woman on what children need to have in order to be
healthy so we should take her advice. A thirty minute lunchperiod is too short, therefore we should
make it longer.
Students cannot finish their lunch in the amount of time we are given which causes us to be
wasteful. Since lunch is only thirty minutes, I do not have enough time to finish my lunch. For
example, if I have a sandwich in my lunch, I end up throwing at least half of it into the garbage.
Throwing half of your lunch out is not only wasting the food, but the money you spent. If my dad
knew how much of my lunch I wasted he would not be happy because he is buying my food.
Children in Africa don t have enough food to nourish their bodies, meanwhile we are wasting
perfectly good food that could save a child s life in need of food. Every 5 seconds a child dies due
to hunger and 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted every year around the globe (in text citation). ...

Romanticism In Sense And Sensibility
In the eighteenth century, reason and emotion no longer worked together. Emotion was kept down
and was considered inferior. Social conventions were more important than individual convictions.
In other words people considered form more significant than content. As regard art, this period was
called Classical period. The opposite of this was slowly being prepared to burst out at the time of
the French Revolution. This period was called Romantic.
What Romanticism tried to do was stir all the way through the Age of Reason so in this case man
and nature became fused through participation in the one mighty being , so that the most elemental
natural objects became humanised . The term of sensibility emerged as a concept in the
Enlightenment Era but continued to be defined during the Romantic period and beyond. This new
concept describes people s capacity to be affected by the world around them. It also directly
correlates their emotional capabilities with their moral development. A high moral standard should
result in an appropriate emotional response. What was considered appropriate was different for men
and women, however. People thought that sensibility led ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

D.Define authority: As we know that in any business decisions are very important part. This it is
important to build an authority system in this firm who can take responsibility and has ability to

this is adequate to happen here. The firm is running on some old policies and systems and it is
very important to change it for the betterment of firm. The deserving employees must get

While Mary Jane is constantly put down, new sources have proven that since the legalization of
cannabis, teenagers have not increased their use of medical marijuana (Borchardt). One of the
biggest worries about legalized medical marijuana was that teenagers would smoke more pot, but it

Lord Of The Sinner By J. M. Bradbury
In regards to the concepts of desire and pleasure Laura Esquivel said, Each of us is born with a
box of matches inside us, but we can t strike them all by ourselves. Desire for pleasure is hard
wired into human nature, and people will do whatever they can to acquire it. One strong desire
of pleasure is that which involves the human body and all the pleasures it has to offer. That desire
however, exists on a thin border one that if crossed enters the realm of lust. It is a realm of carnal
sin that paves the road to harsh and unrelenting punishment for all who follow it. Disgrace by J. M.
Coetzee, demonstrates lust and the punishment that comes with it through several events befalling
Byronic protagonist David Lurie. Given the horrifying assault scene of Disgrace, Coetzee is
alluding to the second circle of hellin Dante s Infernoand the punishment for the sin of lust. The
first allusion to hell s second circle in Disgrace s rape and battery scene is the entrapment of the
sinner. After being knocked unconscious by his assailants, David wakes to find himself in the
bathroom of his daughter s ranch house. After recovering slightly and attempting to exit the
room, he was placed in David finds himself trapped: He tries to kick at the door, but he is not
himself, and the space too cramped anyway, the door too old and solid (Coetzee 94). Despite any
effort David could attempt in his situation, he finds himself at the mercy of his surroundings.

Mending Wall Figurative Language
The poem, Mending Wall by Robert Frost is about the word wall which has many different
meanings both physically and emotionally depending on the way the word is used. Physically, a
wall is a man made structure which can be made of brick, stone, wood, metal, drywall, glass or
any type of material. The material used to erect a vertical wall and the size of the walldepends on
the purpose of the wall. The size of the wall is determined by the person building the wall. The
outdoor wall can differ drastically from an indoor wall. The outdoor wall purposes vary from a
property boundary, to keep mulch and dirt in flower beds or vegetable gardens, to block a view, to
prevent people from wandering off path, and as a way to keep animals... Show more content on

Undoubtedly, a wall is perceived to be unfriendly to the people who are on the other side looking
in. To emphasize the point, Frost uses figurative language to describe what the wall is separating
by comparing the two neighbors as trees on lines 24 when he says He is all pine and I am apple
orchard. The wall acts as a barrier between the two neighbors and the poet indicates this on line
25 says My apple trees will never get across . The reader gains a sense of how different the
neighbors, the value of the wall and alludes to the reason in which the wall is a good neighbor.
One neighbor sees the benefit of the wall as keeping their properties separated when he states on
line 27 Good fences make good neighbors viewing the wall as a necessity to maintain separation
and privacy and a barrier from interacting with the other neighbor. The neighbor refers to the wall
as a fence way to separate their properties and acts as a good neighbor because it maintains their
privacy on their property. The wall is a good neighbor because the wall provides a boundary
from each other so they can maintain their privacy and limit social interactions. The purpose of
the wall is to keep out or off the property. The other neighbor finds the wall unfriendly and
offensive since it does not serve a purpose and on line 33 saying What I was walling in or
walling out, and views the wall as pointless since there are no cows. The purpose of the wall is a
way to keep something inside to prevent it from going outside the wall. The neighbor cannot
figure out what they have to keep inside the wall. The wall is unfriendly and cold and emotionally
creates a barrier between the two neighbors as a message of being unloved because the wall is a
division preventing social

What Was The Schlieffen Plan
Schlieffen Plan became the German armed forces association of war towards France and Russia.
The Schlieffen Plan was made by means of Alfred Von Schlieffen, German Head of body of

Mr. Long utilized employee evaluation sheets to give periodic reviews to his workers. He was

Inequalities In European Culture
Inequality has been an issue from the dawn of time. All throughout history we can see prime
examples of this. World war two and the german invasion, The Spanish and the Incas, and the
most well known example, today. But few people have ever asked why it s always been this way.
Europe had geography on it s side, giving them agricultural advantages, helping them to
domesticate animals (and in turn, building resistance to disease) leading to a surplus of food for
specialists to invent and experiment. Finally, that led to the decimation of other cultures, and the
appropriation of their resources. Geography affects climate which in turn controls what crops can

supply of iron, their specialists could create steel. But looking at the Incas, they had the time and
climate, however, they were lacking in iron. Thus, steel was not created in the Incan empire. So
with steel, the Spanish soared ahead, creating tools, weapons, vessels for travel overseas, and the
plow, which allowed for even more time and in turn, more specialists. Because the Inca didn t
have steel, they had to rely on stone tools and their single domesticated animal, the llama. Without
steel, we wouldn t be anywhere near where we are today. Steel allowed for civilizations to sail,

Cause Of Staff On Inmate On Inmates
Q= what are the causes of staff on inmate, inmate on staff, and inmate on inmate violence in both
prisons and jails? What can correctional administrators do to prevent or at least reduce violence in
correctional facilities? In spite of the fact that the situation is intricate, and some conflicting
discoveries have risen, for the most part the literature supports the idea that the more coercive the
jail environment the more prominent the potential for savagery becomes. This is particularly so
where jail administration and treatment of detainees are seen by detainees as unreasonable or
illegitimate, as this reinforces detainee solidarity contrary to the authorities. A jail approach that
keenly consolidates situational and social counteractive action techniques upheld by fitting
administration strategies and exploration based staff enlistment and preparing practices, is likely
the most encouraging model for lessening interpersonal savagery in correctional facilities. Q= what
types of rehabilitation programs are offered in prisons? What programs are most successful? What
are the principles of effective programs? In the course of recent years, exploration has demonstrated
that some recovery gatherings are successful. At the ACI, sex offenders, aggressive behaviour at
home and substance misuse treatment program bolster this claim. The Rhode Island Adult

Relationship Between Milk Market Participation Of...
In this paper, we study the relationship between the milk market participation of smallholder
households and women`s intra household bargaining power in Ethiopia. The main objective of
integrating Ethiopian farmers into the market is to increase household income. Our data show that
household income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101
versus 49 birr daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned
by selling raw milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into
butter and cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant
households than in non participant households.
This difference has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an important issue, as previous research (Adeto, 2000; Mahmud, Shah, Becker, 2011)
suggests that women`s share in household income determines their participation in household
decision making and their intra household bargaining power. Moreover, Agarwal (1997),
Quisumbing Maluccio, 2000 and Njuki et al. (2011) indicated that income in the hands of women
enhances the welfare of household members more than income in the hands of men. Hence, the
income shift from women to men in market participant households can negatively affect the
women`s intra housheold bargaining power, as well as the other household member`s welfare.
To study the difference in women s bargaining power between spouses from milk market participant
and non participant households, a resource sharing game was conducted. In this game, husbands
and wives were asked to propose an amount of money to be transferred to their partner and to
indicate their expectation regarding the amount their partner would transfer to them. This game
revealed substantial differences in the amounts proposed and expected between milk market
participant and non participant households. Women`s expectations and the amounts actually
proposed by their husbands were significantly higher in market participant compared to non
participant households. Consistently, men`s expectations and the

Taking a Look at the Sports Industry
1.Sports is a very important part of the United States. When there is a plan to expand the US
franchises in foreign countries the most important factor will be the local culture. The success of
the market share capture can only be done when a company has understood the cultural differences
that exist in other geographies. The cultural differences can be pertain to the social structures ,their
manners and the rituals and values. There are also differences in attitudes, languages and
communication patterns.
As the US franchises pitch for foreign lands, the structure of the organization should also change
(Shropshire et al., 1995).The search for global talent must go on and they have to make the sport
well known to seek new athletes and talented sportspersons. During their advance to other
economies, they should be open to their culture and custom along with their beliefs. They should be
in a position obey the rules and also design their gear for the various sports, with a respect the
sportmanship.
The risk of these franchises from failing in foreign culture can be decreased with the help of
effective market research. This data mining will equip them with an understanding of the facts and
about the country s mentality towards sports. Thus they will also gain valuable information and this
will help them to design their innovative propositions.

Gilgamesh, Beowulf As A Literary Hero
It has been a part of humankind since the invention of story to venerate a reflection of what is
believed to be the ideal person; complete with strengths, flaws, aspirations, and codes that mold
his or her goals, decisions, and, ultimately, fate. Such figures, though imperfect, are celebrated
because they are attainable, for perfection is too far beyond the inspirational grip of imagination
for many. Each of these heroes, be they Gilgamesh, Beowulf, or Achilles, are motivated toward
different goals and take a varied and unique path in order to achieve these goals, which are shaped
by the social and political climates in which they are formed. However diverse these character arcs
may be, they each share overlapping characteristics that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This such loyalty is shared with the acclaimed literary hero Beowulf, who ultimately offers his life
in a fierce battle with the dragon for his people. The manner in which Gawain then faces the
trials set forth by the Green Knight also demonstrates the strict moral code of sir Gawain; that of
the chivalrous knight. His dedication to his code of chivalry is no more evident than in his
encounters with the lady of Bertilak s castle; while she incessantly makes advances toward
Gawain in his bedchamber, he summons his willpower each time to maintain his code of
chivalry and refuse her while remaining courteous. Blekner asserts the moral struggle that
Gawain faces in this scene, stating that We are always aware that the real threat is not so much
the considerable sexual attractiveness of the lady s flesh as the young hero s fear of not living
up to his worldy reputation for cortaysye (Blekner 367). The seduction scene not only illustrates
Gawain s heroism through his manner and courtesy towards Bertilak s wife, but also the
humanity in his flaws that makes him a true hero. While Gawain is stalwart in his belief in
loyalty to his king and chivalry toward women, he is also flawed in that he doesn t tell the lord of
the castle about his prize. In these scenes, Gawain shows a fracture in his otherwise infallible
demeanor; a weakness that he is

Theme Of Ode To A Nightingale
Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats
Ode to a Nightingale is a regular ode written by John Keats in 1819. The ode is the longest one
with eight stanzas with ten lines each. The poem was composed at Charles Brown s house after
John Keats heard a nightingale bird outside his window singing. This poem expresses different
themes such as the theme of mortality of human life, the theme of unhappiness and happiness, and
various figures of speech like symbolism, to support the themes.
Throughout this poem, Ode to a Nightingale, the author fully expresses the theme of mortality of
human life. In this ode, the speaker convinces himself into believing that the nightingale bird or its

flies on his metaphorical wings:
Away! Away! For I will fly to thee,
Not charioted by Bacchus and his pards,
But on the viewless wings of Poesy, (Keats, 31 33).
The speaker uses imagination to expresses his urge to get away. The symbolism and metaphors help

made many decisions with the script, including not putting certain, important aspects of the
comic books in the movie, such as having Peter Quill s dad in the film and having Groot be a
simple character. (He was very complex in the comic books and his thoughts were written for the

know who Peter Quill s father was, which created a cliffhanger for a second movie. The
screenwriters idea worked incredibly because the movie s opening made it the top August debut of

The Controvercial Big Bang Theory
Have you ever wondered about the start of time? How about the start of the universe? Well, this
question has been nagging astronomers and scientists alike for years and years. But in 1927,
Georges Lemaitre proposed one of the most controversial theory of all time, the Big Bang.
The Big Bang is a theory about the start of the universe. People have talked about it for years and
it s very controversial. First, let s start with the theory.
The Big Bang was first formed by Georges Lemaitre. He is the first person to actually propose this
theory. He also derived Hubble s Law . Hubble s Law helps estimate the rate of expansion of the
universe. The equation is H=v/d where H is Hubble s constant, v is the velocity of the galaxy, and
d is the distance from the earth. Even though it seems that he is a 24 hour scientist, he is, however,
a Belgian priest.
This theory is believed to have created the universe. Its occurrence was estimated to be 13.8 billion
years ago. Of course, this is all estimation. No one knows when exactly it happened. Again, people
have different beliefs.
Now, to further express the above statement that people have different beliefs, there are a lot of
different forms of this theory. I have handpicked 7 different forms of this single theory to share
with you. Here they are in order.
The Universe must have been born in this single violent event which came to be known as The Big
Bang .

The Wife Of His Youth And Mrs. Spring Fragrance
Ever since the days of World War I, women have been seen as second rate to men. They had to
live up to many social standards that men didn t have to and had strict guidelines on how to live
their lives. This all changed when modernism deliberately tried to break away from Victorian Era
standards in which women were subjugated to a lot more scrutiny. Ezra Pound, who was a large
figure in the modernist movement, captured the spirit of the era in his famous line Make it new!
Consequently, many writers started to experiment with many different and wild writing styles,
which led to the short stories and poems we have today. The stories The Wife of His Youth and
Mrs. Spring Fragrancewere all written in this era of modernism. While they are written in a more
traditional style of writing, both these stories have strong implications on feminism from the
viewpoints of both male and female writers. The Victorian Erawomen was vastly different than the
female we think of nowadays. Women during that time were expected to fulfill more of a
domestic and motherly role, one that stayed at home and took care of the house. They were
confined within the private sphere of the world while the men toiled away in the public sphere.
The ideal Victorian women was described as:
The women were expected to carry out the duties of the house without complaint and to remain
diligent to her husband, as well as God. During this time, motherhood transformed from just being a

The Case Of The Stanford Prison Experiment
Zimbardo had hoped to manifest the dehumanisation and the disconnection of social as well as
moral efficacy once applied to guards in submerging circumstances, which resulted to more than
slight complications, causing difficulty in proceeding with the experiment. Studies have uncovered
that people had obeyed authority figures whether it meant acting in opposition of their own moral
certitude. The Stanford Prison has changed the perspective of those who occupy knowledge of the
scenario, better classified as a psychological experimentation. Investigating the purity of human
beings registered to roles out of the ordinary as opposed to the typical environmental situation, it
had inferred that even the good were capable of being in possession of a character and settle in with
the duty allocated to them even if it required malicious acts. The explanation that stands to back up
the escalation of events that had spurred out of control was gathered to be an influence of roles
which had etched into each individual that contributed; guards exerted a more genuine
representation of assigned characteristics, even more so growing immune to their previously
occupied mannerism. The Stanford Prison experiment had shaped individuals characteristics far
beyond what had been expected. For instance, the limit to which Zimbardo had pushed the
experience to be psychologically real, encouraged more than just the stereotypical role(s); prisoners
had been humiliated, having been treated in a manner

Market Segments:
Restaurant is not a place, which can be assigned to any one category of market, but to be more
efficient in directing the resources to the right target market, for this we have done market
segmentation. According to the given statistical data, we can easily understand why children were
chosen to be the target market:
Between 5 10 years 75% Between 11 18 years 88% Between 19 25 years 28% Between 26 40 years
45% Between 41 onwards 14%
The result of the analysis states that the age group of 5 18 is the best target segment to be focused.
The rest of them are some how related to the above two fields and can be influenced by their
demands to come to the restaurant.
Geographic Segments:
Here we subdivide markets into segments based on geographic distribution the regions, counties,
cities and towns where people live and work. This can be taken out by taking into consideration:

The Theory Of Behavioral Learning Theory
B. F. Skinner is one of the top psychologist who invented the radical behaviorism and critical
psychiatry. B. F. Skinner believed that behavior is maintained from one condition to another
through similar or same consequences across situations. Skinner believed that actions followed by a
positive effect tend to be repeated, while actions followed by negative effect were not. I believe the
behaviorist theory states that individuals develop certain behavior traits based off of their reaction
to certain events that they are presented with. This means that people act certain ways because of
how they handled situations that have occurred in their life. Introduction to Behavioral learning
theory. For example, inside the classroom, teachers could use this theory to help children behave
correctly and have a positive outlook on their schoolwork. By understanding the theory, teachers
would recognize that students need and want positive reinforcement. As a result of giving positive
reinforcement, students would continue to display the desired behavior. Skinner said that radical
behaviorism emphasizes a functional level of analysis that may be contrasted with mainstream
psychology s emphasis on essentialism. Behaviorism is a theory mostly developed by B.F. Skinner.
Three basic assumptions are held to be true. Learning is manifested by the change in behavior, the
environment shapes behavior and the reinforcement essential in explaining the process of learning.

Alcohol Abuse And Alcohol Use Disorder
A brief history of alcohol and its use, alcohol has been around since the birth of man. Alcohol has
been used for medical reasons, as well as recreational use. As far as historians can tell, the abuse of
Alcohol had been around just as long. But people haven t considered it some type of disorder until
the 19th century. In 1819, German Doctor C. W. Hufeland coined the term Dipsomania.
Dipsomania was the uncontrollable craving for alcohol. In 1849, Dipsomania became known as
Alcoholism. In the 1920 s, Alcoholism was so bad and out of controll, that America had a
Prohibition Period in which alcohol was illegal. In the DSM IV, there were two different and
distinct disorders (or subtypes) involving alcohol. Both of these disorders (or subtypes) had their

Mendelssohn (1809 to 1847). Walking into the concert hall I was flabbergasted. The size of the
room just amazed me and the stage was fantastic to say the least. Made me more excited for the
show to start! As I sat down in my seat I noticed all the types of people in the concert hall were
dressed in many different sets of attire. Elderly people were better dressed with their suits and
dresses and pant suits where the younger people in the concert hall were still nicely dressed but
were a little more casual. After what seemed like forever the lights finally began to go dim and I
knew the show was about to start. In the first piece, Saint SaГ«ns, setting of the poem, the solo
violin represents the devil who is playing his fiddle for the dance. The dance begins at the stroke
of midnight in a graveyard. The harp begins the work with 12 strokes,

Postpartum Complications
Postpartum complications are typically health complications in women that we associate with a full
term delivery. For women who experience a miscarriage, there is a marked risk for post partum
complications as well. If you have recently terminated a pregnancy, or experienced spontaneous
miscarriage, it is important to know what health complications may arise especially those
complications associated with hormonal imbalances. Postpartum thyroiditis is one of the most
under diagnosed health complications in women who have had a sudden end to a pregnancy. As a
condition that can lead to the secondary development of depression, complications with weight
gain, and a complication with body temperature regulation, many doctors simply dismiss the...

Up to twenty five percent of American women suffer from slight thyroid slowdowns. But often the
symptoms go untreated. Some of the symptoms are fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, dry skin, and
thinning hair. We sometimes just think that as we get older things such as weight gain and
fatigue get harder to combat so we don t even ask our doctor if their could be a medical cause.
And when we do many doctors don t recognize the narrow range between normal thyroid function
and clinical hypothyroidism, so borderline problems are often missed. This will not replace a
doctors diagnosis but you can do a simple test that ID a sluggish gland. Do this test in the
morning. Take your underarm temperature before you get out of bed. Hold a mercury
thermometer in place for ten minutes or a digital model for one minute. If it is lower than 97.8
Fahrenheit for three consecutive mornings, you thyroid may need a little revving. And there are
some things that you can do to boost your thyroid. First a good one to try is steamed veggies. The
thyroid depends on iodine to make the hormones that regulate energy and metabolism. But
compounds called goitrogens in cruciferous veggies (such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and
kale) can block the body s absorption of iodine. The solution: Enjoy these veggies steamed since
heat deactivates goitrogens. To further safeguard iodine levels, season one dish per day with
powdered kelp. This salty sprinkle delivers 485 mcg of organic iodine. which is better utilized by
the thyroid than the iodine in table salt. Another thyroid booster is selenium. Even minor selenium
shortfalls (which strike one in five women) can impede thyroid function. That s because the mineral
helps the body convert thyroxine hormone into triiodothronine, the active form that governs body
processes. Grains and seeds were once considered great selenium sources but modern

The Political System Of America
The political system in this country is heavily influenced by special interests that undermine what
is beneficial to society. When the corporate agenda meets politics, profit takes priority. There is a
mutual desire between politicians and businesses to maintain power. Getting re elected and
achieving donor s goals just like a company does for its share holders. The governments job is to
protect the rights of those with different interests, not to give rights to an entity, making it equal to
people. There is a conflict of interest between the profit driven corporate world and the public
welfare. Politicians are frequently offered financial benefits for favors, large donations influence
decision making. Those relationships are really unhealthy to the political process and the power of
the people.
When money controls politics, all anyone would have to do is control the money. The founding
fathers had a fear of central banks due to the history of banks devaluing currency by inflation and
deflation. Thomas Jefferson feared the power that central bank could gain, and claimed it was
unconstitutional. Jim Marrs, a political researcher, reminds us of Jefferson s feelings, To take a
single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take
possession of a boundless field of power ... banking establishments are more dangerous than
standing armies (Marrs, The Trillion dollar Conspiracy, 61).1 They knew a central bankis against
the interest

  • 2. Optimism And Racism Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year. This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson appears to be a charming, quaint sentiment, although a sentiment which is seemingly not applicable to modern society. However, is it possible that each individual could establish an optimisitc, sanguine attitude throught all the days of their life? In retrospect, I sincerely believe that this is attainable, through a conscious, caring attitude to our thoughts. Genuinely unadulterated optimisim and joy is so recherere in modern society. However, optimisim and an audcaious thrist for a jovial life is wildly infectious. The significant question still stands. How do we obtain this unshakeable optimism through the storms of life, through clossal challenges, through unfair critisim and rejection? When we see unabashedly optimisic indivudals who rejoice in life and modify the way we look at this immense, vast, capacious world, we wonder how to procure what they have acquired? We concede. We convince ourselves that they posess something we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A commonly practiced technique includes observing an atrocious, unpreposessing situation and detecting one outstanding, reedeming quality in the most horrendous situation. However, there are numerous ways to stay optimsitic. There are no limits, as it all depends upon the individual. Optimisitic inviduals are typically empthatic and compassionate. They view situations through the eyes of others, which allows them to realize the magnitude of things they have to be thankful for. This motivates and fuels their splendid attitudes. There are scads of ways optimists stay optimsitic and keep their loving, joyful countenance in tact every day of the week, even through the trials, tribulations, and storms of their life. It is important to strive to live optimistically, even if it is not our innate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on Loss In One Art by Elizabeth Bishop One Art by Elizabeth Bishop is a poem that explores loss in comparison to an art; however, this art is not one to be envied or sought after to succeed at. Everyone has experienced loss as the art of losing is presented as inevitably simple to master. The speaker s attitude toward loss becomes gradually more serious as the poem progresses. Keys, having virtually no reason for emotional attachment, are mentioned in line 5 with a tone of acceptance that, Yes, it is okay to lose keys. Although vital to the penetration of a lock, keys are such a generic object that they can be easily replaced and, aside from the inability to open that door, will not be missed for long. Lines 2 and 3 state that so many things seem filled with the intent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point in the poem, the speaker s attitude toward loss is rather blasГ© due to the fact that the items she has misplaced holds no emotional attachment and can be replaced. As the poem progresses, the misplaced or forgotten items become concepts such as names and ideas, and therefore carry more of an impact. For example, forgetting someone s name, however not uncommon, can be associated with feelings of embarrassment from the forgettor, and annoyance from the forgotten when they discover that they were not important enough to be remembered. The speaker simply shrugs off these losses because None of [them] will bring disaster, as mentioned in line 9. Emotion, often associated with memories is introduced in line 10 when the speaker announces, I lost my mother s watch. An item such as a mother s watch holds sentimental value, unlike the previously mentioned keys; however, the speaker repeats, I miss them, but it wasn t a disaster, (line 15) indicating that the watch was merely a material possession crowded with memories. At this point, the reader recognizes the feeling of missing something associated with greater losses of objects and ideas the speaker regards with more emotional attachment. In line 16, the speaker s emotional attitude toward loss changes as it becomes evident that the speaker has lost a person, yet they still view loss as a part of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Caused The Haiti Earthquake It is true that the earthquake exacerbated the water and sanitation problem in Haiti, but in reply to the statement of the sanitation issue of water contamination, cholera started because of feces that got into the Haitian s primary source of water. Being curious of how the water in Haiti became contaminated, I found this article from the New York time which stated that the United Nation accepts responsibility for the choleraoutbreak that killed thousands of people in Haiti. It was reported that the office of Secretary General Ban Ki moon admitted that the water contamination from feces that caused this devastating epidemic, was in deeded started because of the United Nation actions (Katz, 2016). • 5. Over The Past Year, 12 Percent Of The Oceans Reefs Have Over the past year, 12 percent of the oceans reefs have become bleached due to ocean acidification. Ocean acidification and in turn coral bleaching, is due to carbon pollution causing global warming, this makes the oceans warmer, thus making them more acidic. Coral reefs and shellfish cannot survive these levels of acid in the water. In particular the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, is suffering from this bleaching. The Great Barrier Reef has been declining in recent years due to this acidification, however, as of recently it has come knocking on death s door. Carbon levels started rising about 200 years ago during the industrial revolution, because the machines invented started pumping carbon dioxide... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An economic shortage would also occur because both the fishing industry and the shellfish industry will simply have less products to sell. The consequences of ocean acidification don t just affect the ocean, it directly affects humans too. Researchers documented the extent of the damage the reef off the coast of Australia sustained during the 2016 bleaching event, and found that only 8.9 percent of more than 1,000 reefs escaped with no bleaching along a stretch more than 2,300 kilometers long (Kennedy). There have been 4 major bleaching events in the previous 20 years that have affected the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. One happened on 1998, another in 2002, and then one in 2016 and one in 2017. This is the first ever documented occurrence of major coral bleaching happening two years in a row. The dying of the Great Barrier Reef will hurt the Australian tourism economy. • 6. Marc Antony s Speech In the playwright Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, Marc Antony appears to be a strong advocate for Julius Caesar s triumphs for more power. However, like Caesar, Antony is extremely manipulative and powerful. After Caesar s death, Antony persuaded the conspirators into trusting that he understood their intentions on executing Caesar and later asked if he could speak at Caesar s funeral. While Brutus and the conspirators remained fooled by Antony s innocence, Antony took the initiative to inform the citizens of Rome on the conspirator s horrendous actions towards Julius Caesar, their beloved leader. • 7. Impact Of The Industrial Revolution On The World Essay Since the first time an image was transported to a laptop screen or a handheld device was used to communicate to people in other countries, the world has been a system of calls, emails, texts, and networks that are all categorized under the term technology. We started off with technology that helped us forage for food or manage our livestock. However, tech today is a basis of telecommunications and the use of different mechanical mechanisms that are seemingly robotic. How far we have come from the beginning of the first civilizations to what we are able to do now illustrates the impact of the industrial revolution and, some may say, tech revolution. We are still booming and at every corner that is turned new advancements are introduced into society that was not thought about before. It seems that we should be all tech savvy and a life without technology would be a little unnerving to say the least. Others say that this dependence makes robots or us less human. Throughout the research conducted on technology, there were news articles assumingly concluding that we are humans merging with technology and turning into robots and another similarly arguing that we need to become cyborgs or risk humans being turned into robots. These may not be scholarly articles but are interesting to see and notice the perspective that people believe to be true. The extremely absurd notion that we are so heavily dependent on technology that we will turn into robots may actually be true. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nadine Burke is an American pediatrician. She is the founder and CEO of the Center for Youth Wellness. This facility focuses on children who have had bad childhood experiences. Mrs. Harris is an educated woman on what children need to have in order to be healthy so we should take her advice. A thirty minute lunchperiod is too short, therefore we should make it longer. Students cannot finish their lunch in the amount of time we are given which causes us to be wasteful. Since lunch is only thirty minutes, I do not have enough time to finish my lunch. For example, if I have a sandwich in my lunch, I end up throwing at least half of it into the garbage. Throwing half of your lunch out is not only wasting the food, but the money you spent. If my dad knew how much of my lunch I wasted he would not be happy because he is buying my food. Children in Africa don t have enough food to nourish their bodies, meanwhile we are wasting perfectly good food that could save a child s life in need of food. • 14. Lord Of The Sinner By J. M. Bradbury In regards to the concepts of desire and pleasure Laura Esquivel said, Each of us is born with a box of matches inside us, but we can t strike them all by ourselves. Desire for pleasure is hard wired into human nature, and people will do whatever they can to acquire it. One strong desire of pleasure is that which involves the human body and all the pleasures it has to offer. That desire however, exists on a thin border one that if crossed enters the realm of lust. It is a realm of carnal sin that paves the road to harsh and unrelenting punishment for all who follow it. Disgrace by J. M. Coetzee, demonstrates lust and the punishment that comes with it through several events befalling Byronic protagonist David Lurie. Given the horrifying assault scene of Disgrace, Coetzee is alluding to the second circle of hellin Dante s Infernoand the punishment for the sin of lust. The first allusion to hell s second circle in Disgrace s rape and battery scene is the entrapment of the sinner. After being knocked unconscious by his assailants, David wakes to find himself in the bathroom of his daughter s ranch house. After recovering slightly and attempting to exit the room, he was placed in David finds himself trapped: He tries to kick at the door, but he is not himself, and the space too cramped anyway, the door too old and solid (Coetzee 94). Although Guardians of the Galaxy was one of Marvel s least popular comic book series and had already been cancelled once because of low sales, Gunn and Perlman took the still unfamiliar 2008 version, written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, and worked with it. Gunn and Perlman made many decisions with the script, including not putting certain, important aspects of the comic books in the movie, such as having Peter Quill s dad in the film and having Groot be a simple character. (He was very complex in the comic books and his thoughts were written for the readers to see, unlike the movie.) However, this allowed the movie to have more suspense and humor, especially by not letting the audience, specifically those who have not read the comics, know who Peter Quill s father was, which created a cliffhanger for a second movie. The screenwriters idea worked incredibly because the movie s opening made it the top August debut of all time, earning $94.3 million in North America and $67.4 million internationally. The world that Gunn and Perlman brought to life is also full of characters that an audience member would not think they would care for, such as galactic delinquents, talking raccoons and trees, and powerful criminals. Well, this question has been nagging astronomers and scientists alike for years and years. But in 1927, Georges Lemaitre proposed one of the most controversial theory of all time, the Big Bang. The Big Bang is a theory about the start of the universe. People have talked about it for years and it s very controversial. First, let s start with the theory. The Big Bang was first formed by Georges Lemaitre. He is the first person to actually propose this theory. He also derived Hubble s Law . Hubble s Law helps estimate the rate of expansion of the universe. The equation is H=v/d where H is Hubble s constant, v is the velocity of the galaxy, and d is the distance from the earth. Even though it seems that he is a 24 hour scientist, he is, however, a Belgian priest. This theory is believed to have created the universe. Its occurrence was estimated to be 13.8 billion years ago. Of course, this is all estimation. No one knows when exactly it happened. Again, people have different beliefs. Now, to further express the above statement that people have different beliefs, there are a lot of different forms of this theory. I have handpicked 7 different forms of this single theory to share with you. Here they are in order. The Universe must have been born in this single violent event which came to be known as The Big Bang . Inflation set of a series of BIG BANGS, each one spawning the birth of a new ... They had to live up to many social standards that men didn t have to and had strict guidelines on how to live their lives. This all changed when modernism deliberately tried to break away from Victorian Era standards in which women were subjugated to a lot more scrutiny. Ezra Pound, who was a large figure in the modernist movement, captured the spirit of the era in his famous line Make it new! Consequently, many writers started to experiment with many different and wild writing styles, which led to the short stories and poems we have today. The stories The Wife of His Youth and Mrs. Spring Fragrancewere all written in this era of modernism. While they are written in a more traditional style of writing, both these stories have strong implications on feminism from the viewpoints of both male and female writers. The Victorian Erawomen was vastly different than the female we think of nowadays. Women during that time were expected to fulfill more of a domestic and motherly role, one that stayed at home and took care of the house. They were confined within the private sphere of the world while the men toiled away in the public sphere. The ideal Victorian women was described as: The women were expected to carry out the duties of the house without complaint and to remain diligent to her husband, as well as God. The Case Of The Stanford Prison Experiment Zimbardo had hoped to manifest the dehumanisation and the disconnection of social as well as moral efficacy once applied to guards in submerging circumstances, which resulted to more than slight complications, causing difficulty in proceeding with the experiment. Studies have uncovered that people had obeyed authority figures whether it meant acting in opposition of their own moral certitude. The Stanford Prison has changed the perspective of those who occupy knowledge of the scenario, better classified as a psychological experimentation. Investigating the purity of human beings registered to roles out of the ordinary as opposed to the typical environmental situation, it had inferred that even the good were capable of being in possession of a character and settle in with the duty allocated to them even if it required malicious acts. The explanation that stands to back up the escalation of events that had spurred out of control was gathered to be an influence of roles which had etched into each individual that contributed; guards exerted a more genuine representation of assigned characteristics, even more so growing immune to their previously occupied mannerism. The Stanford Prison experiment had shaped individuals characteristics far beyond what had been expected. For instance, the limit to which Zimbardo had pushed the experience to be psychologically real, encouraged more than just the stereotypical role(s); prisoners had been humiliated, having been treated in a manner ... Skinner believed that behavior is maintained from one condition to another through similar or same consequences across situations. Skinner believed that actions followed by a positive effect tend to be repeated, while actions followed by negative effect were not. I believe the behaviorist theory states that individuals develop certain behavior traits based off of their reaction to certain events that they are presented with. This means that people act certain ways because of how they handled situations that have occurred in their life. Introduction to Behavioral learning theory. For example, inside the classroom, teachers could use this theory to help children behave correctly and have a positive outlook on their schoolwork. By understanding the theory, teachers would recognize that students need and want positive reinforcement. As a result of giving positive reinforcement, students would continue to display the desired behavior. Skinner said that radical behaviorism emphasizes a functional level of analysis that may be contrasted with mainstream psychology s emphasis on essentialism.
