Viva La Revolution: Why Universal Banking is under siege and what needs to be...Aman Narain
The world is experiencing incredible change both politically and technologically where industries are being re-imagined almost daily. Universal Banking is one business model that has been a very profitable business model. However with the changes in customer needs, regulation, technology and the emergence of new competitors this industry is most vulnerable to disruption. Disruption not just from TechGiants like Google and Apple but more so more small starts and an ecosystem of new financial services providers who instead of a head on challenge may be thin slicing the industry into oblivion. All is not lost however there are actions Universal Banks can and must take and this presentation shares some thoughts around these.

The Silver Bullet is a presentation that introduces the forces that are driving the greatest amount of change across industry since the industrial revolution. In this presentation Aman explains his framework of the 5P's: Purpose, Process, Productivity, Platform and People, and how leadership team need to change their approaches to these to fight commoditization and redundancy. Digital Transformation of the Enterprise. What IT leaders need to know!IndicThreads
This presentation will be about the changing times and nature of IT services delivered to the consumer. In the past, it used to be delivered through thick or thin clients on the desktop. Today, these are primarily delivered to the mobile in the form of a digital service.
While a lot of talk is about disruption that the smart phones have brought, the truth is, that the backend has to be more industrialised than ever before due to the massive number of transactions that terminate in the legacy IT infrastructure. Companies need both, industrial IT and innovation IT to be able to compete effectively in the digital marketplace. This presentation will be about the different imperatives the new IT leaders have to think about in the digital era.

A hugely popular feature of our Digital Summits, Daniel will share what we need to be thinking about as we head towards 2016, bringing you up to speed on the latest ‘need to know’ developments and helping to set the context for the rest of the day.
Despite the speed of consumer adoption, most businesses are still finding their feet with digital and social media and many of the platforms, tools and technologies available today are still in relative infancy. Change continues apace as new applications are launched, opportunities emerge and customer/consumer behaviour continues to evolve.
For marketers, the implications of these developments are profound. Digital permeates everything, from communication channels to business models, team structures to budgets. Getting a handle on this requires, in the first instance, clarity on where we are now – which will be provided in this ‘state of the nation’ address from one of the UK’s leading digital trainers, Daniel Rowles.
In the early days of product development, the technology is inferior and lacking in performance. The focus is very much on the technology itself. The users are enthusiast who like the idea of the product, find use for it, and except the lack of performance. Then as the product becomes more mature, other factors become important, such as price, design, features, portability. The product moves from being a technology to become a consumer item, and even a commodity.
In this lecture we explore the change from technology focus to consumer focus, and look at why people stand in line overnight to buy the latest gadgets.

What talent wants, is what tenants need, is what landlords must buildConvene
As the workplace transitions from being a utility to a strategic human resources tool for companies to compete on innovation, the workplace has become the newest weapon in the war for today’s top talent. In this talk, Convene co-founder and president Chris Kelly explores the concept of decommoditizing real estate, and how this ecosystem of change affects commercial landlords, commercial office tenants, and their employees.
Intelligent machines are starting to do many tasks that until recently were the exclusive domain of people. AI-powered software agents and robots are taking tasks away from humans, and doom and gloom prognosticators have dominated mainstream media with predictions that this will lead to creative machines that will undermine the human connectivity at the heart of our industry.
This deck reviews these predictions and delivers examples at the forefront of “AI creativity” to show that as we automate elements of marketing, advertising and creativity, in the new emotional economy we’ll need to be even more human than ever!
Technology and Innovation are two main components nowadays to differentiate in the competitive world we live in. Transformations, whether on a small or larger scale could become a matter of survival for certain companies.
I am happy to share with you a Digital Transformation case my team and I at IE university worked on as part of our Technology and Innovation class.
We worked on Codelco's case, a leading mining company based in Chile, which revolutionised the mining industry with the implementation of their remote operating room. The results and efficiency of the innovation can be measured by the large increases in revenues as Coper prices being stable at that time.
In Codelco's case, the digital transformation was indeed a matter of survival after the 2016 copper pricing crisis.

Former Global Head of Digital Banking Standard Chartered Bank
At any given moment it is easy to look back to see how technology has changed over time. At the same time it is difficult to see what transformations are taking place in current moment, and even more difficult to see where things are going.
We will explore what technology is. For us it may be the latest tech stuff we see, something new. But what about everyday objects that we take for granted. Are those not technologies also?
How does technology evolve and where did it come from? We look at some ideas on evolution of technology and how it is similar to biology in some ways. We will also look at the origin of the word technology. Finally we will define the term we will use in the course. Terms defined are technology, product performance, and innovation to name few.
