Essay about Qualitative Analysis Discussion
DISCUSSION:
Qualitative analysis is used to determine the presence of cations or anions present within a sample
and their impurities. Information known, such as chemical and physical properties, about cations
and anions can be used to determine what steps should be used to separate the sample into one,
specific ion. Qualitative analysis involves forming and decomposing complex ions. Qualitative tests
are very sensitive, allowing to detect a very small amount present in sample. Due to sensitivity,
cleaning utensils and accurate observations are essential to results. Many basic principles are
applied to determine the impurities or cations. To determine which impurities are present, scheme or
flow chart is followed. Scheme is used...show more content...
In every step, there was a precipitate and supernatant liquid. This lead to students being able to
determine which exact ion is present in solution.
A solution containing three unknown ions (#3) was then tested. Procedure was carried out
accordingly to lab manual. Determined ions present in solution were Fe3+, Cr3+, and Cu2+. The
confirmatory test for Fe3+ that was used was , K4Fe(CN)6 add to a precipitate containing Fe3+.
A dark blue precipitate formed which is a positive result, Fe3+ is present in this solution.
Continuing procedure, Cr3+ presence was confirmed in step 9 by dissolving the precipitate with
HNO3 then adding 5 drops of diphenycarbazide (dcp) solution. The supernatant was yellow then a
sudden change to pretty, dark pink/purple after the first drop confirmed chromium presence. The
reason for the color change is because chromium is reduced and dcp is oxidized. Further, along in
the procedure, another positive test revealed the last ion present, Cu2+. The confirmatory test of
copper revealed a positive result. This test was actually performed a couple of times to get a
positive test due to skipping of a solution. Copper was confirmed by adding K4Fe(CN)6 to
supernatant. A maroon precipitate formed, Cu2Fe(CN)6.
Lastly, a solution containing four unknown ions (#6) was to be determined. The determined ions for
solution #6 was iron (Fe3+), chromium (Cr3+), bismuth (Bi2+), and aluminum (Al3+).

There are arguments against harder sentences and capital punishment
One of the arguments against longer prison sentence is that the prisons are already full.
Other people disagree and think that prisons should reform

Personal Reflection On Group Work
Personal Reflection
"Group work is a form of voluntary association of members benefiting from cooperative learning that
enhances the total output of the activity than when done individually".
Working in a group can be very difficult at times. Different people with different views may not
always agree which one another. Throughout the various task I played the communicator. I made
sure everyone was on track on what we wanted to do. I also made sure people was okay and
happy in the role they was playing in the group. My group worked together in collecting ideas
from one another and making it into one. My feelings about the group process was a little mix at
first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member were
all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas
started to flow. I felt like that took the communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other
group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don't overthink everything. The things
I will have done differently in the group was to use my time wisely. I believe because we were on
a time frame, I tended to rush things just to say okay where done. Also, more support and trust at a
point of time I was kind of second guessing another idea. I feel that you have to have trust in your
group member to make it effective.

Sample: How to Write a Discussion Essay
Abstract
This essay will examine the advantages and disadvantages of disciplining children. Firstly, it will
consider the disadvantages of disciplining children in terms of injuries, children taking revenge and
broken relationships. Equally, it will consider the advantages of disciplining children in terms of
having more respectful children, appreciation and learning life lessons. Finally, the essay will
conclude that disciplining children will eventually lead to a better society in the future.
Children can be quite a handful to deal with at times. Disciplining children, no matter what methods
are used, will always come to mind. The concerning subject are the advantages and the disadvantages
that may concern people who are in authority...show more content...
Next, disciplining children will teach them about appreciation. Children may learn to value what is
given to them. For example, it can be assumed that consequences will arise when parents' instructions
are not followed.
Consequences work when the child is trying to get the parent 's attention by misbehaving and
when children fight, dawdle, and fail to do their chores. Consequences can be used to get
children to school on time, to meals on time, and to take responsibility for homework. The child
learns that if he doesn 't pick up his toys, he can 't go out and play; if he doesn 't wash his hands
before meals, he won 't be served any food; and if he fights with his brother while in the car, the car
will be stopped until calm resumes. (Telep 2009, N.P.)
Thus, children appreciating valuable things and understanding the consequences of misbehaviour is
an advantage when disciplining children.
Finally, life lessons can be learned through discipline. These life lessons can possibly determine the
child's future. For example, disciplining a child to complete school work before engaging in leisure
activities will teach the child the importance of education. Another example is disciplining a child
for being very careless, to prevent serious future injuries. Therefore, an advantage of disciplining
children is that children may learn very important life lessons through discipline.
The issues of disciplining children both have advantages and disadvantages. Though

Patient Safety Essay
Introduction
Keeping patients safe is essential in today's health care system, but patient safety events that violate
that safety are increasing each year. It was only recently, that the focus on patient safety was
reinforced by a report prepared by Institute of medicine (IOM) entitled " To err is human, building a
safer health system"(Wakefield & Iliffe,2002).This report found that approx–imately 44,000 to
98,000 deaths occur each year due to medical errors and that the majority was preventable. Deaths
due to medical errors exceed deaths due to many other causes such as like HIV infections, breast

Medicare patients (Health Grades, 2009). Institute of medicine (IOM) has estimated that adverse
drug reactions cost 1.5 million to the govt.which can be reduced with proper interventions (Classen,

costs due to medical bills and due to loss of income and other dis–abilities. Seeing the severity of
patient safety events, it is necessary for the hospitals to take proper steps towards patient safety.
Each step towards patient safety saves hundreds of lives and thousands of dollars. Preventable
medical errors affect the trust of patient on health care person–nel (Health Grade, 2009).

Reflective Essay On Class Participation
Class Participation First, you must show up to class. Then you need to ask questions, provide
feedback, suggest ideas, help a peer on the computer, etc. Students are expected to actively
participate in each class and in Blackboard discussions and assignments. Participation is defined as
working actively within the class or your assigned group(s), adding to the discussion of in–class
activities, whether role–plays debriefing, case analysis, or learning opportunities in the classroom,
and posting responses to and questions for discussion threads assigned in Blackboard.
Participation will be included as part of the grade in this course. You will be assessed on your
participation in the classroom (beyond simply attended class) and your participation in discussion
threads. So, you will have to actively be in class and participating each week to earn your points.
Active input from students in regard to their experience and opinions will enrich the class
experience. In addition, a student's interactive involvement in all discussion posts and assigned
activities is important for creating a shared learning environment. This includes during class as well
as participating in online discussions outside of class. Discussion Board Postings Each week we will
have an online discussion of the material assigned – text chapters, videos, audios, articles, etc.

Essay on Psychology Class Reflection
Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before
went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been
introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I
have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental
processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try
and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every
day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better

from his childhood in some way. This is just one example of how I am seeing the world from a
more psychological perspective. I now try and form some theory about abnormal behavior rather
that just shrugging it off. While I have not really had any experience with anyone with any very
serious psychological conditions I see now that there is much more than meets the eye when it
comes to their behavior. There is typically some sort of explanation that can be found in
psychology and I think if everyone had a basic understanding of psychology they would
understand the abnormal behavior a little better. After this introduction to psychology I can now
also better understand my behavior and understand the things that are affecting my life. There are
certain aspects in my life that limit me from making the choices I may prefer to make. I have
obligations and responsibilities that I must maintain in order to provide a decent life for my
family. There is much at stake for me and I cannot always just do whatever it is that I would like
to do. As a child I was raised in a house where honesty was the key. It has been instilled in my life
and to this day I know the right thing to do is to be honest. My parents were very good at
instilling a since of honor in me. I am still not sure how they did it but I know it affected the
decisions that I made and make today. I was always

Osmosis Lab Report Discussion
Introduction Osmosis is when water passes through a cell membrane, it is also form of a diffusion,
which is a form of passive transport. Osmosis will continue to until an equilibrium is reached which
is when the solutions are isotonic. This means that the solution has the same amount of solute on
both sides. If the solution is hypertonic, it has more solute in the solution. In this situation water will
move towards it. if the solution is hypotonic, it has less solute in the solution. Whereas in this
situation, water will move out of the solution. The purpose of this lab is to test the effect of osmosis
on cucumber slices. If a cucumber slice is placed in a hypertonic solution, then the mass of the
cucumber slice will decrease. Whereas, if...show more content...
Then, each group of students received the necessary materials to complete the experiment. When the
students received the cups, they labeled cups to distinguish between the salt solution, distilled water,
and control group. After weighing the cups and finding the mass of the cucumbers, the students
poured 50 ml of water in one cup, 50 ml of salt solution in the other, and left the control cup empty.
Then, the students placed the cucumbers into the cups and waited 30 minutes for the results. After
the 30 minutes, the students removed the cucumbers from each solution and dried the cucumbers
with paper towels. The students then weighed the cucumbers again and recorded their results. Lastly,
the students found the difference from the original mass of the cucumbers and recorded their results.

Analysis/Discussion
The independent variable of this experiment were the different types of the solutions used, while the
dependent variable was the mass of the cucumber slices. The constants were, the amount of liquid
used and the time the cucumbers were left in the solution. While the control was the cucumber left
in the cup with no solution. The students made a hypothesis saying that they believe that the
cucumber slices put into the salt solution would decrease in mass while the cucumber put in the
distilled water would increase in mass. In the end, the results of the experiment supported the

Nursing Discussion Essay
My assumptions for nursing before walking into this course were that this profession focused on
quality care for all different types of patients. I viewed nurses as someone who is brave,
courageous, always up for a challenge, and compassionate. When I made my career choice to
become a nurse, I thought their main jobs were to spend time with the patients, help them feel
comfortable, provide them with medication that was ordered by their physician, and help patients
with day to day tasks. I looked at nurses as someone who is like a close family member –

Essay on Self Evaluation on Group Discussion
The group discussion has just passed, and it was really a hard work and challenging. There were
many precious lessons I got, and, hopefully, so did with my friends. Our group was consisting of
four students. As a quantity, reasonably, we had had enough power to do a better work and gained a
satisfying result. As I flashed back to the group discussion, it was enriching my memories. Some
were in high spirit, remarkable and enjoyable. Opposite to it, few were disappointing.

Educational Assessment Essay
Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs
undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba & Banta,
1999). Educational assessments are carried out to measure the efficiency of the program, the quality
of instruction and progress of a child's learning. The purpose is to determine the growth and
development. There are several kinds of assessment carried out during a student's learning. These
include the placement assessment, formative assessment, and summative assessment. Learners
coming into the kindergarten class are often given a pre test or a placement assessment to evaluate

How much each child has improved over time, gives the educators an opportunity to recognize
what modifications are needed to improve the student's achievement. e.g. if a child knows the
uppercase and lowercase alphabets very well then the teacher can move on to sounds of the
alphabet. On the other hand if the child is struggling to identify the alphabets then the teacher has
to come up with alternate ideas to modify her lesson plans. The school carries out assessment
twice a year. The mid year and end of the year assessment shows that the expectations from the
kindergarteners are slowly raised keeping in mind the consistency of the curriculum and the
objectives. An end of the year assessment clearly shows the child's expected familiarity and
independency in the subject. Objectives for the assessment The assessment is used to identify
the various skill levels of learners. There are four levels of expected growth chosen to meet the
objectives. Each level has a set of criteria and standards linked to learning objectives and a scoring
system to align it. In the above table, being able to identify two rhyming words in 3 out of 5
sentences assesses the success of rhyming in a sentence and gives the learner the highest score of 4.

1.a) The class is in a productive zone when every individual is contributing to the discussion.
Prevalent silence is a sign that we aren't being productive, but the discussion must also be
meaningful rather than just filling the silence. For me personally, I need to make sure to pick the
times when my input is most insightful to speak up, as well as trying to reach out to the people
who are quiet. My level of heat started out too high and went down to a manageable amount where
I don't feel nearly as afraid to contribute. The class as a whole tends a little on the cold side, and
that seems mostly due to fear of heat. It's not that people don't want to contribute, it's that they're
afraid of saying something stupid or meaningless.

What I Have Learned Essay
What I Have Learned
When I think about what counts as learning to me, I think about my life. Just being able to live in
this world to me is a learning experience, because I feel that my life is full of lessons and I believe
that it takes lessons to learn in life. I feel that I have learned to understand learning more and to
also understand the value of learning. As I get older I can comprehend subject matters more than I
could ever do before. I am learning to be more serious and I find myself not taking life for granted
anymore.
I also feel that maturing counts as learning for me because growing up I was continuously being

everyday life. I am learning better habits everyday. Even though I did bad on my first exam I feel
that counted as learning for me because now I know what it takes for me to receive a high grade on
any test I take.
The biggest learning experience to me so far is life itself. I feel that way because there is so much to
learn in life. It takes growing up for me to learn in life. I am now beginning to understand the value
of learning because a year ago I did not appreciate learning. I did not value it like I value it now. I

attitude in high school was bad because I really did not feel I was learning, so I took it for granted.
In high school I felt as if the teachers were jokes and I also felt they did not care about educating
me properly. I am now starting to learn the value of an education. I now look forward to learning
new things everyday. I feel that I am beginning to have a passion for learning. I never thought that
I would feel this way about learning because I never did appreciate it like I do now. I now actually

teaching me something new. I think I feel this way because I am maturing and I now view learning
differently than I did

full–term infants with respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, drug–withdrawal, or other disease

Resources
On this nurse's unit, the use of cell phones is highly discouraged and even punishable. While this
limits the nurses ability to access EBP information or use mobile apps, it is a reasonable policy
given the ability of most phones to take pictures and the close proximity of the neonates could make
parents uncomfortable. There are nursing journals and reference books available for resources, as
well as the neonatologist's journals. At least half of them are older than five years. The nurses do
have access using the hospital's intranet to resources. This is available at any time during the work
day using the staff computers. This does include an e–library resource for evidence searches. This
nurse does not often use these resources as this time due to time limitations.
Recommendations
The unit this nurse works in does promote evidence–based practice on a daily basis. However,
individual nurses are not encouraged as widely to research on their own. It would be helpful if they
were given extra time and encouragement to work on evidence–based projects. The simple truth is
when it comes down to care of one's patient, or searching for evidence, the nurse is going to choose
her patient every time. The nurse should not have to make this choice.
Conclusion
To conclude, the unit this nurse works in is actively involved in researching and implementing
evidence–based practice.

Group Discussion And Personal Reflection
Daniel Russ – Group Discussion and Personal Reflection
Geoff Gallop's article; "Acid test for policy advisers" was provided to groups to develop
discussion on the legitimacy of Gallop's ten 'rules' that he believes will enable individuals to become
"not politicians but policy advisers within government". What emerged from our group was a
significant and diverse dialog involving the definition of the 'grand ideologies' – being capitalism and
socialism– mentioned in the article and a reflective debate concerning the function of political power
and influence in the creation of policy.
Contributions from group members helped to define the processes of capitalism and socialism and
led to a discussion on their applications in modern day Australia. While there was an acceptance of
Gallop's perspective that these two systems of thought are "active and relevant", the definition of
these ideologies being "moral and intellectual irritants...decreasingly used as benchmarks in political
judgement" was not supported. A majority of the discussion advocated the current government
pursuing fiscal gains over the development of fair policy, indicating a belief in Commonwealth being
highly influenced by a capitalist agenda....show more content...
Iterated through inputs from discussion participants, direct comparisons of Gallop's ideal policy
making process to today's governance formed a shared conviction over the high amount of power
that political influence exhibits over policy making. This led to an agreement that this political
approach is significant in reducing policy creativity and directly influenced by the ideals of the
overarching authority. In light of this perspective, it was also interpreted that the bureaucracy
created from this power struggle has led to an imbalance between political objectivity and
dependence on circumstantial agendas that ultimately mocks a fair policy

Trayvon Martin's Limitations
Limitation has either held people back or opened their eyes for centuries. The Black Lives Matter
movement could not have started if Black Americans anger torwards police had not boiled over
from the shooting of Trayvon Martin. John Milton, when writing his poem "When I Consider How
My Light Is Spent", showed the hardships, but also the opportunity of his new limitation. Plato said,
"Society originates . . . because the individual is not self sufficient" (Plato 55). Many people believe
that growing up requires accepting limitations, but these acts of humanity tell a different story.
Growing up does not require accepting limitations, but it does require accepting the need for others
to believe what the catalyst believes in order to create impactful change in a society. Attempting to
create change without a strong catalyst can not alter an old–established institution of the society.
When Milton was writing "When I Consider How My Light Is Spent", he wrote from a pace of

My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and
involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they
go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead
something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better
equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly
anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That
being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content...
The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the
most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for
the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is
not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge
not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an
energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like
an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or
her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only
to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a
particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

Essay about QualitativeAnalysis Discussion DISCUSSION: Qualitative analysis is used to determine the presence of cations or anions present within a sample and their impurities. Information known, such as chemical and physical properties, about cations and anions can be used to determine what steps should be used to separate the sample into one, specific ion. Qualitative analysis involves forming and decomposing complex ions. Qualitative tests are very sensitive, allowing to detect a very small amount present in sample. Due to sensitivity, cleaning utensils and accurate observations are essential to results. Many basic principles are applied to determine the impurities or cations. To determine which impurities are present, scheme or flow chart is followed. Scheme is used...show more content... In every step, there was a precipitate and supernatant liquid. This lead to students being able to determine which exact ion is present in solution. A solution containing three unknown ions (#3) was then tested. The confirmatory test for Fe3+ that was used was , K4Fe(CN)6 add to a precipitate containing Fe3+. A dark blue precipitate formed which is a positive result, Fe3+ is present in this solution. Continuing procedure, Cr3+ presence was confirmed in step 9 by dissolving the precipitate with HNO3 then adding 5 drops of diphenycarbazide (dcp) solution. The supernatant was yellow then a sudden change to pretty, dark pink/purple after the first drop confirmed chromium presence. The reason for the color change is because chromium is reduced and dcp is oxidized. Further, along in the procedure, another positive test revealed the last ion present, Cu2+. The confirmatory test of copper revealed a positive result. This test was actually performed a couple of times to get a positive test due to skipping of a solution. Copper was confirmed by adding K4Fe(CN)6 to supernatant. A maroon precipitate formed, Cu2Fe(CN)6. Lastly, a solution containing four unknown ions (#6) was to be determined. The determined ions for solution #6 was iron (Fe3+), chromium (Cr3+), bismuth (Bi2+), and aluminum (Al3+). In step 5, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Personal Reflection OnGroup Work Personal Reflection "Group work is a form of voluntary association of members benefiting from cooperative learning that enhances the total output of the activity than when done individually". Working in a group can be very difficult at times. Different people with different views may not always agree which one another. Throughout the various task I played the communicator. I made sure everyone was on track on what we wanted to do. I also made sure people was okay and happy in the role they was playing in the group. My group worked together in collecting ideas from one another and making it into one. My feelings about the group process was a little mix at first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member were all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas started to flow. I felt like that took the communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don't overthink everything. The things I will have done differently in the group was to use my time wisely. I believe because we were on a time frame, I tended to rush things just to say okay where done. Also, more support and trust at a point of time I was kind of second guessing another idea. I feel that you have to have trust in your group member to make it effective. Sample: How toWrite a Discussion Essay Abstract This essay will examine the advantages and disadvantages of disciplining children. Firstly, it will consider the disadvantages of disciplining children in terms of injuries, children taking revenge and broken relationships. Equally, it will consider the advantages of disciplining children in terms of having more respectful children, appreciation and learning life lessons. Finally, the essay will conclude that disciplining children will eventually lead to a better society in the future. Children can be quite a handful to deal with at times. Disciplining children, no matter what methods are used, will always come to mind. The concerning subject are the advantages and the disadvantages that may concern people who are in authority...show more content... Next, disciplining children will teach them about appreciation. Children may learn to value what is given to them. For example, it can be assumed that consequences will arise when parents' instructions are not followed. Consequences work when the child is trying to get the parent 's attention by misbehaving and when children fight, dawdle, and fail to do their chores. Consequences can be used to get children to school on time, to meals on time, and to take responsibility for homework. The child learns that if he doesn 't pick up his toys, he can 't go out and play; if he doesn 't wash his hands before meals, he won 't be served any food; and if he fights with his brother while in the car, the car will be stopped until calm resumes. (Telep 2009, N.P.) Thus, children appreciating valuable things and understanding the consequences of misbehaviour is an advantage when disciplining children. Finally, life lessons can be learned through discipline. These life lessons can possibly determine the child's future. For example, disciplining a child to complete school work before engaging in leisure activities will teach the child the importance of education. Another example is disciplining a child for being very careless, to prevent serious future injuries. Therefore, an advantage of disciplining children is that children may learn very important life lessons through discipline. The issues of disciplining children both have advantages and disadvantages. Essay on PsychologyClass Reflection Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better understand myself and the others around me. Our behavior at...show more content... role confusion stage. (Gerrig & Zimbardo, 2009) It is a coping mechanism that probably stems from his childhood in some way. This is just one example of how I am seeing the world from a more psychological perspective. I now try and form some theory about abnormal behavior rather that just shrugging it off. While I have not really had any experience with anyone with any very serious psychological conditions I see now that there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to their behavior. There is typically some sort of explanation that can be found in psychology and I think if everyone had a basic understanding of psychology they would understand the abnormal behavior a little better. After this introduction to psychology I can now also better understand my behavior and understand the things that are affecting my life. There are certain aspects in my life that limit me from making the choices I may prefer to make. I have obligations and responsibilities that I must maintain in order to provide a decent life for my family. There is much at stake for me and I cannot always just do whatever it is that I would like to do. As a child I was raised in a house where honesty was the key. It has been instilled in my life and to this day I know the right thing to do is to be honest. My parents were very good at instilling a since of honor in me. Osmosis will continue to until an equilibrium is reached which is when the solutions are isotonic. This means that the solution has the same amount of solute on both sides. If the solution is hypertonic, it has more solute in the solution. In this situation water will move towards it. if the solution is hypotonic, it has less solute in the solution. Then, the students placed the cucumbers into the cups and waited 30 minutes for the results. After the 30 minutes, the students removed the cucumbers from each solution and dried the cucumbers with paper towels. The students then weighed the cucumbers again and recorded their results. Lastly, the students found the difference from the original mass of the cucumbers and recorded their results. Educational Assessment Essay Assessmentis the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba & Banta, 1999). Educational assessments are carried out to measure the efficiency of the program, the quality of instruction and progress of a child's learning. The purpose is to determine the growth and development. There are several kinds of assessment carried out during a student's learning. These include the placement assessment, formative assessment, and summative assessment. How much each child has improved over time, gives the educators an opportunity to recognize what modifications are needed to improve the student's achievement. e.g. if a child knows the uppercase and lowercase alphabets very well then the teacher can move on to sounds of the alphabet. Any premature baby born before thirty–five weeks is automatically admitted into the NICU. In addition to the premature infants, full–term infants with respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, drug–withdrawal, or other disease processes are admitted for care. There are over 140 nurses employed. Resources On this nurse's unit, the use of cell phones is highly discouraged and even punishable. While this limits the nurses ability to access EBP information or use mobile apps, it is a reasonable policy given the ability of most phones to take pictures and the close proximity of the neonates could make parents uncomfortable. There are nursing journals and reference books available for resources, as well as the neonatologist's journals. At least half of them are older than five years. The nurses do have access using the hospital's intranet to resources. This is available at any time during the work day using the staff computers. This does include an e–library resource for evidence searches. This nurse does not often use these resources as this time due to time limitations. Recommendations The unit this nurse works in does promote evidence–based practice on a daily basis. However, individual nurses are not encouraged as widely to research on their own. It would be helpful if they were given extra time and encouragement to work on evidence–based projects. The simple truth is when it comes down to care of one's patient, or searching for evidence, the nurse is going to choose her patient every time. The nurse should not have to make this choice. Conclusion To conclude, the unit this nurse works in is actively involved in researching and implementing evidence–based practice. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

What emerged from our group was a significant and diverse dialog involving the definition of the 'grand ideologies' – being capitalism and socialism– mentioned in the article and a reflective debate concerning the function of political power and influence in the creation of policy. Contributions from group members helped to define the processes of capitalism and socialism and led to a discussion on their applications in modern day Australia. While there was an acceptance of Gallop's perspective that these two systems of thought are "active and relevant", the definition of these ideologies being "moral and intellectual irritants...decreasingly used as benchmarks in political judgement" was not supported. A majority of the discussion advocated the current government pursuing fiscal gains over the development of fair policy, indicating a belief in Commonwealth being highly influenced by a capitalist agenda....show more content... Iterated through inputs from discussion participants, direct comparisons of Gallop's ideal policy making process to today's governance formed a shared conviction over the high amount of power that political influence exhibits over policy making. This led to an agreement that this political approach is significant in reducing policy creativity and directly influenced by the ideals of the overarching authority. In light of this perspective, it was also interpreted that the bureaucracy created from this power struggle has led to an imbalance between political objectivity and dependence on circumstantial agendas that ultimately mocks a fair policy Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Trayvon Martin's Limitations Limitationhas either held people back or opened their eyes for centuries. The Black Lives Matter movement could not have started if Black Americans anger torwards police had not boiled over from the shooting of Trayvon Martin. John Milton, when writing his poem "When I Consider How My Light Is Spent", showed the hardships, but also the opportunity of his new limitation. Plato said, "Society originates . . . because the individual is not self sufficient" (Plato 55). Many people believe that growing up requires accepting limitations, but these acts of humanity tell a different story. Growing up does not require accepting limitations, but it does require accepting the need for others to believe what the catalyst believes in order to create impactful change in a society. Attempting to create change without a strong catalyst can not alter an old–established institution of the society. When Milton was writing "When I Consider How My Light Is Spent", he wrote from a pace of desperation where he believed his blindness would prevent him from using his gift of writing. Similarly, Trayvon Martin's death sparked large outrage, but it was not strong enough to cause any real change in police behavior. More than two thousand years before Trayvon...show more content... Milton proved that even with a limitation like blindness, his talent was not "lodged with [him] useless", but could still be used to reach and inspire others. The six year old boy holding a sign that said "Don't Shoot", reminded people on the left and the right, that Black People are still people, and do not deserve to be harmed by the ones who should be protecting them. Plato's own mentor, Socrates, was killed for even practising philosophy, but Plato went on to write a book to show why philosophers should be the ones deciding punishment, and should not be killed Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Teaching PhilosophyEssay My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college. Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content... The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
