1. Best College Admission Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Best College Admission Essay" is a challenging endeavor
that demands a delicate balance of creativity, self-reflection, and a keen understanding of the
audience. The difficulty lies not only in meeting the technical requirements but also in presenting
a unique perspective that sets the writer apart from countless other applicants.
To begin with, the pressure of encapsulating one's entire academic and personal journey into a
limited word count can be overwhelming. Selecting the right experiences and anecdotes that
resonate with the admissions committee while showcasing individuality is a complex task.
Additionally, the need to strike a perfect balance between humility and self-promotion further
complicates the writing process.
Moreover, the challenge extends to the demand for flawless language, impeccable grammar, and
a compelling narrative flow. The essay must not only be error-free but also engaging enough to
capture the attention of the reader from the first sentence to the last.
The psychological aspect of self-analysis can also pose difficulties. Delving into one's
achievements, failures, and aspirations requires a level of introspection that can be
uncomfortable. It's a fine line between showcasing accomplishments and appearing boastful,
making the process of self-presentation a tightrope walk.
Furthermore, the competitive nature of college admissions means that the essay must stand out
amidst a sea of equally qualified applicants. Crafting a narrative that is not only unique but also
aligns with the values and ethos of the institution adds another layer of complexity.
In essence, writing the "Best College Admission Essay" is akin to walking through a labyrinth
where each step requires careful consideration. It demands not only excellent writing skills but
also a profound understanding of oneself and the ability to convey that understanding effectively.
If the challenge seems insurmountable, there's no need to worry. Assistance is available, and
similar essays, along with a variety of other writing services, can be accessed through platforms
like HelpWriting.net. These resources provide support to navigate the intricacies of college
admission essays, ensuring that applicants put their best foot forward in the competitive world of

2. Young Actors And Actors Essay
Young actors and actresses are some of the most famous people in the world. They
are idolized by millions of fans across the world, who look to them as a role model
for them or their children. As young actors start to gain more fame, the public eye
on that person starts to get larger and larger as people wait for that person to make
a mistake. When that person finally does make a mistake, the media starts
criticizing that person which can hurt his or her public perception. While it is
damaging to that person, it is important to hold all young actors and actresses to a
high standard. All young actors and actresses should be held to a higher standard
than ordinary people because they are always in the public eye. All young actors
and actresses have a great talent, and some use that talent to star in some of the
biggest and most watched television series and movies. These shows are usually
watched by millions of people across the world and can cause some of them to
look at these young actors and actresses in a completely different light. Some
people (especially young people) can start to follow their favorite young actors
and actresses careers very closely and even look to them as a role model. They
even start to look toward their favorite young actors and actresses to see what is
popular to wear, watch on television, and even how they should act. That is why
young actors and actresses are held to a higher standard because they do influence
people on how to act in their
3. Dangerous Offenders Legislation Essay
The new Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act (2003) In Queensland permits
prisoners to be kept in prison beyond their release date where a court finds that there
is a high degree of probability that they represent a serious danger to the community .
Other jurisdictions have enacted similar legislation to restrict the releaseof prisoners
assessed to be dangerous. Do you think that dangerousness legislation of this sort is
justified or unjustified?
Several states across the Country have enacted or attempted to enact legislation which
can enable detention of a prisoner past his/her release date. This type of legislation s
general purpose is to provide a mechanism whereby prisoners who, if released pose an
unacceptable risk of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of legislation provides a framework whereas an application can be made to
further detain a prisoner who is due to release as they are deemed to be an
unacceptable risk of further offending and their further detention will protect the
community (Field, 2003).
Whilst it is generally accepted that the community broadly welcomes such imposing
and punitive legislation, it is imperative that our disgust for these offences/offenders
does not prevent us from finding the injustice on an ethical and moral basis (Wortley
and Smallbone, 2003).
One of the fundamental principles of the Criminal Law System is the presumption
of innocence until proven guilty (McSherry, 2003). By enacting punitive legislation
such as the examples given above, it has been said that it is removing this Common
law right from the individual (Greig, 1995). It has also been said that it creates an
exception to the general principle of law that no person shall be imprisoned unless a
court comprised of Judge/Jury is convinced, beyond reasonable doubt that the person
committed a very serious offence. Thereby effectively allowing people to be detained
without the burden of proving guilt (Keon Cohen, 1992).
Whilst it is appreciated that the offenders who will be subject to such legislation are in
4. A Brief Note On Plagiarism And Academic Theft
Citing is mainly used to avoid plagiarism, but a writer should always cite sources
in an essay and in presentations because they need to acknowledge the use of other
people s work . (McMillan, 2010: 192) Citing a source is important as it helps a
reader to understand how [an] argument was assembled and what influenced [the
writers] thinking (McMillan, 2010: 192) which helps a reader to form an opinion
on the work. (McMillan, 2010: 192) Citing demonstrates the writer s knowledge of
relevant sources and their capability to be selective in the materials chosen; then
incorporate this with the knowledge and information already obtained from lectures
and seminars, expanding on ideas and improving the argument. (Barrass, 2005: 132)
Plus it helps the reader to assess the extent of the writer s wider reading, which can
also help when giving feedback and advice. (McMillan, 2010: 192)
Plagiarism is academic theft, it is extremely important to avoid plagiarism not only
for academic purposes but also for legal reasons. It is when someone uses someone
else s ideas and written work within their own written work and without citing them,
therefore claiming them as their own ideas. Kirton (2007) states that providing
evidence is an important dimension of academic writing , so when quotations and
citations are not used a writer is plagiarizing someone else s intellectual property .
(Kirton, 2007: 155)
Plagiarism does not necessarily mean stealing word for word what someone else has
said,

Conclusion:
In the experiment, I set up the 24 plate well, and added each solution one by one
while keeping track of which liquid was in which well. I lit my burner with
matches and started assembling my make shift cotton toothpicks. My Q tips were
plastic, so I (with gloved hands) ripped the cotton off the swab and wrapped it
around a toothpick. I then proceeded to dip the cotton in and wait a second or two
before waving it through the flame.
I noticed the color change with the sodium immediately, but with the others it took
a bit longer. I repeated the process with each liquid three times just to be sure.
Especially with the Potassium, as it was very difficult for me to discern the color
change. I tried to eliminate any major errors by taking my time and redoing the
experiment a few times, but I did spill a bit of the liquid as a cut the pipets open.
Also, my swabs may have been previously contaminated by the salt on our skin due to
frequent use.

7. Romanticism In Coleridge s The Rime Of The Ancient
Mariner
Coleridge had been a neighbor, friend and collaborator of Wordsworth and their
partnership remained fruitful for the growth of English literature. Their publication
of Preface to Lyrical Ballads heralded the birth of Romanticism. Coleridge along
with Wordsworth, librated 18th century s poetry from the strict shackles and put
along the road to new freedom and achievement. Compared to Wordsworth,
Coleridge was subtle and comprehensive, more gifted with poetic sensibilities, but
he was indolent and dreamy and liked to lay on the floating lotus like Lord Vishnu
and wake up a while only to sleep again for ages. Coleridge s The Rime of The
Ancient Marinerhas been founded on a dream of his friend Cruickshank, who
fancied, he has been a skeleton ship with figures in it. It was Wordsworth, who
suggested Coleridge the killing of the Albatross, the revenge of spirits and the
stillness of the ship and consequently his sailors dying of thirst. Coleridge blended
natural with supernaturaland gave a romantic touch to his poetry. What is the
supernatural? Through the ages this phenomenon cannot be explained by the known
laws of nature. If these supernatural elements lead to the happiness of man they are

spirits. Literature has continuously been enriched by stories in... Show more content

Thus he appeals to our imagination rather than to the senses. In Ancient Mariner
when the skeleton ship approaches to the sailors the verse full of details occurs in
the original text which is afterward omitted. Perhaps Coleridge believes that these
terrible incidents of the gruesomeness do not add to the suggestiveness of the
creation. Even the description of the Mariner having a skinny hand and glittering eyes
have a suggestive meaning. The wedding Guest is hypnotized by the Mariner. Thus,
he keeps his supernatural to a suggestive
8. South Africa s Economy Is Largely Based On Mineral...
South Africa s economy is largely based on mineral extraction and processing.
This by its very nature is energy intensive. Until January 2008, when for the first time
load shedding was implemented as demand outweighed supply, consumers had seen
energy as finite. Historically low fuel and electricity costs had dis incentivized the
need to conserve energy (Government Gazette, 2009).
South Africa s challenges as a developing country is how to reconcile its inherent
socio economic issues with an economy whose industries heavily contribute to GHG
production.
Eskom generates 96.7% of power used in the country, with a current nominal
capacity of 44.175MW installed. To put things into perspective, it s estimated that
South Africa will need 40.000 MW s of new generation capacity by 2025 (USEA,
Modise, 2014). This provides a myriad of sustainability issues when fossil fuel use is
well established and renewable energy resource use is in its nascent stages.
Drivers and barriers to transition
Strategic implementation of low carbon strategies require the understanding of the
barriers to their implementation. An obvious barrier is the state of the country itself
and the role that energy plays, with clean and affordable energy being a difficult
problem to resolve. Bearing in mind the historically low prices of energy in South
Africa, it is understandable that amongst commercial and industrial organizations the
extra costs of interventions with unjustifiable payback would be questioned
9. The Notebook Alzheimer s Analysis
The movie The Notebook is the love story of Noah and Ally, an elderly couple,
who is living out the rest of their days in a retirement home. Though Noah s health
doesn t necessarily require the need of this retirement home, he chooses to stay
there anyway so he can be close to his love, Ally all of the time. Each day Noah reads
to Ally out of his journal a story of two young lovers. However, this story is the
story of Noah and Ally when they first met and fell in love. Noah reads out of this
journal in hopes that it will trigger something in Ally s memory and she will
remember him again. Even through Ally s Alzheimer s prevent her from
remembering this, she enjoys hearing Noah read it to her and looks forward to
hearing the next section every day. How accurate is this example of Ally s
Alzheimer s though? Does this disease truly work the way that they show in this
movie?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alzheimer s is the most common cause of dementia, and is a progressive disease that
destroys the memory and other important mental functions. According to alz.org The
most common early symptom of Alzheimer s is difficulty remembering newly
learned information because Alzheimer s changes typically begin in the part of the
brain that affects learning. As Alzheimer s advances through the brain it leads to
increasingly severe symptoms, including disorientation, mood and behavior changes;
deepening confusion about events, time and place; unfounded suspicions about
family, friends and professional caregivers; more serious memory loss and behavior
changes; and difficulty speaking, swallowing and walking. With that being said,
Ally would have been less likely to remember all of the staff members that worked
with her and the newly formed memories made with them, and more likely to
remember things like Noah or how they met. This is one area of the disease that was
inaccurately depicted in this

Silver Linings Playbook
Silver Linings Playbook
The narrative of Silver Linings Playbook is formed in the heart of Philadelphia
around a middle class family at it s breaking point. Pat s, the protagonist, family
has very much shaped his current situation; he has clinical bipolar disorder and
struggles with stress induced manic outbursts. After Pat s release from a mandated
rehabilitation center, he handles the next recuperating stage of his life in a similar
way as a quarterback looking to make the next big play on the field; watching for
possible blitzes and passes, anything to get the ball into the end zone, or in Pat s
case, to get in position for his life to get back on track, and ... Show more content on

Pat and Tiffany are flawed in ways that are more common in human nature than we
discuss, or would like to believe, and offer more depth to the audience than the overly
stereotyped flaws of commitment phobia and unnecessary expression of feelings.
Silver Linings Playbook is shot through Pat s perspective in the present as he
navigates his life after he is released from a psychiatric rehab facility. Russell is
able to tell the story of how Pat arrived at the point he is at through flashbacks
triggered by his wedding song and through visits with his court appointed
psychiatrist. The storyline bounces around from different aspects of Pat s life;
problems at home with his parents, his running back to Nikki and away from his
new life, and dancing with Tiffany. The audience is whirled around following it all,
as if they too are a part of the obsessive craziness that is overwhelming and raw in
some moments and relaxed and comical in others. In these ways, the mental illness
aspect of the film that has completely shaken up Pat s life, is woven through for the
audience to understand, but is still not a glaring idea that is hard for people to grasp
or relate to.
Though the film itself strays from a typical romantic comedy, the structure of Silver
Linings Playbook does not. Romantic comedies usually center on a single person s
development through the assistance of their soon to be partner. The theme is stated
within the first ten minutes; in this case, it
11. Deformity In Mr Hyde
Another theme in Stevenson s novella is how he describes Mr Hyde as detestable
without any prominent features. Those who encounter Hyde notice he projects a
different type of appearance, and while they cannot verbalise it, they feel that
something is wrong. When Mr Enfield describes Hyde s appearance to Mr
Utterson, he says, He is not easy to describe. There is something wrong with his
appearance; something displeasing, something downright detestable. I never saw a
man I so disliked, and yet I scarce know why. He must be deformed somewhere; he
gives a strong feeling of deformity, although I couldn t specify the point. He s an
extraordinary looking man, and yet I really can name nothing out of the way. His
deformities are hidden from plain sight, but human nature notices them. Michael
Davis states, Hyde s pathology, real enough in its effects on others, is nonetheless
ghostly rather than material, somehow present yet simultaneously absent, and so
beyond the scope of mapping or diagnosis in physical terms. While Hyde is a person
and has a tangible effect on those around him, the features that produce such an effect
are invisible. By saying they are ghostly , a haunting aura surrounds Hyde, which also
creates the terrified emotion in those around him. Conversely, if one were to study
Hyde and his features, they would find no apparent difference between him and
others. This phenomenon suggests that there is a factor deeper than his physical
deformity in the
12. Role Of Medicine In Medieval Times
Medicine in the Medieval Times Medicine is a necessity, no matter when or where in
time. Medicine during the medieval times was an especially important necessity.
Advanced technology that we use today did not exist back then, and because of that,
medicine was different. All the doctors could use were their own hands and/or very
strange medical techniques. To understand medicine during this time, one must
understand the medical professions, the diseases, and how the sick were treated.
There were multiple medical professions during the medieval era, but mainly male
occupations. Most of these occupations were physicians that worked for the richest
and most powerful people in Europe. Physicians tried maintaining their patients good
health and cure diseases by giving them advice for their lifestyle, and medicinal herbs
and treatments. They had a belief that men and women could cause sickness to
themselves by living wickedly or recklessly, but they could improve their health by
following a good, sensible lifestyle. To help assist with a sensible lifestyle, physicians
offered counseling to patients and discussed multiple problems that were troubling
the patients. Each patient was drawn up a rule of health that described the amounts
and types of drinks, food, exercise, rest, and sexual activity that they thought was
suitable, but it was not always followed. With their training from the universities,
mathematics and astronomy were used to calculate healthy and sickly times in each

What makes a hero? Does a hero need to be a replica of the heroes that are in
Marvel and DC, a person that was granted unnatural abilities and has a strong sense of
moral duty? Joseph Campbell, the creator of the hero cycle, and a multitude of

discoveries that could further his understanding on dinosaurs and their capabilities. To
conclude, Grant undergoes the refusal of the call to action.
The final part of the departure stage is the meeting the mentor. According to John A.
Dowell that The Mentor provides motivation, insight, and training to help the Hero.
The mentor simply put as somebody who helps the hero in his task. The mentor, in
this case, is Ian Malcolm, a mathematician who was hired to see the dangers that the
park might pose to human visitors. Malcolm guides the protagonist and is the voice
of reason throughout the entire movie. An example of this is when he first learns
about the genetic engineering that was done to the animals to keep them from
breeding, in response he states that life will find a way (Spielberg). He implies that
life will overcome any barrier due to evolution, a natural process that organisms
undertake when there is natural pressures.
The next stage is the initiation stage, and the first of the substages is known as the
belly of the whale. Campbell describes the whale as a personification,

ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAMS This entry describes online Associate s
Degree (AD) programs in the United States, and explores reasons for the recent
popularity of such degrees. The difficulties in establishing public private partnerships
designed to deliver ADs are also discussed. Finally, we consider cross cultural
equivalents of the online Associate s Degree. An Associate s Degree (AD) program is
generally understood to be an undergraduate academic program that leads to
completion of a course of study in about two years. The degree is awarded by
community colleges, junior colleges, technical schools and four year institutions.
There is high demand for AD programs as they provide training for such sought after

attending schools that are nationally accredited. The schools may be less expensive
and require less liberal arts coursework. However, credits from these schools may not
be widely accepted by regionally accredited colleges. Further, coursework and degrees
may not be widely accepted for professions that require licensing after graduation; this
might affect students seeking licensure as accountants, teachers, engineers or

relocation to another state.
During HILL s second home visit to HARRIS residence, she told both HARRIS and
MCGHEE that DANIEL could attend a local day care center that provides care for
adults 18 years and older with limited mobility and/or chronic illnesses called
JABA. JABA s caregivers specialize in dementia, and provide assistance with
Activities of Daily Living (ADL s) and personal care. HILL emphasized that if
DANIEL attended the program during the day, MCGHEE knew she was not to submit
any timesheets for care provided until DANIEL s returned home in the evening.
HILL identified that before JABA, MCGHEE submitted her hours of care for
DANIEL correctly. In April of 2013, DANIEL attended JABA Monday through
Friday, usually from morning until about 5:30 PM. Her morning arrival and evening
departure times varied, and she did not attend the center on days there was inclement

Parametric Design in Architecture
Introduction:
The development of technology has made people pay more attention to computer
skills. In architecture, the advantages of digital tools have also become increasingly
significant since 1940. Before the parametric design, designers always used
traditional software, like AutoCAD, Sketch up, and Photoshop, to make the
architectural expression. However, the parametric system encourages designers to
consider the variety of design, and make the design more editable by changing
parameters and controlled conditions. Therefore, we could say that parametric
strategy did modify the process of architectural ... Show more content on

Through this rule based design strategy, the form of the building is easy to change by
modifying the constraints of the parameters. The time cost of the model could save
because the whole model does not need to rebuild. By parametric design, we could
use the characteristics of Building Information Modeling (BIM) elements to response
the data from the environmental analysis, such as solar radiation and wind velocity.
Considering BIM providing a corporation system for information to share and use by
architects, which not only could build three dimensional models, predict the
performance of the building, but also enable to analyze the environment, BIM
already become one of the most significant computational design tools for
contemporary architecture. The author uses sun shades as an example to show the
approach used by designers to complete a façade design step by step and the
relationships between analytic data, BIM and different software, such as Revit,
Ecotect, and Excel. Also, the limitations of parametric design are mention in the
17. The Case Of Mandatory Vaccination
He states one man s freedom to murder his neighbor must be sacrificed to preserve the
right of another man to live (Friedman 1962, 26). This type of matter would be
unanimously agreed upon, therefore government enforcement is irrelevant, according
to Friedman. Yet, in the case of mandatory vaccines, agreement on protecting another
s life is not universal; therefore we must further justify a policy of mandatory
vaccination.
Further justification for mandatory vaccinations is logically discerned by reading
John Stuart Mill s and Arthur Okun s views on rights. In On Liberty, Mill articulates
that the only form of acceptable coercion is through the harm principle or other
regarding. This translates as no one can or should want to harm their neighbor;
therefore, society can willingly accept vaccination to protect others (Colgrove 2006,
4). Opponents argue that harm principle is not applicable because the only direct
consequence is the side effects and harm a person receives from the vaccination
(Colgrove 2006, 4), not the indirect effects such as a susceptible person obtaining the
disease from lack of herd immunity. In response, I would argue, it is impossible to
comprehend all the consequences our actions. Therefore, the government s role is to
prevent citizens from creating externalities that potentially hurt our neighbors.
Enforcing a policy of mandatory vaccinations enables the government to prevent
negative externalities, which harm our neighbors. This is a duty of

Analysis of the Speech at Brandenburg Gate
People commonly imagine there being a heaven and a hell on earth and if one is a
good person and fulfills their duties the gate to heaven will be opened to them, but if

of East Germany were coerced into a hell they had no way out of, severed from
family relations on the other side of the wall. The East was afraid of change and
controlling everything they could; while the West was free and overflowing with
opportunities. Two distinctive places, yet still connected through their optimistic love
that passes right through the wall. Not only did it connect those two countries, but

America, at the invitation of William Penn, and deeply embroiled in significant events
in American History, the Gilpin s were early founders of Pennsylvania. Their Quaker
background proved to be of primary importance in precisely how the family
participated in important events, like the American Revolution. From their peaceful
relations with Indians to their involvement in the American Revolution, their
pacifist belief system influenced their action. However, not all members of the
Gilpin family remained pacifists. While one member Thomas Gilpin held fast to

many others. However, Quakers, who had experienced persecution in other colonies

21. Teaching Phonics And Teach Phonics
One of the tasks required by teachers is to teach children to read and write, with this
comes different approaches that teachers need to be aware of. Phonics is one of the
approaches adopted by teachers when teaching children to read and write. Teachers
adopt different methods to teaching phonics its what makes them effective teachers
and adaptive. This essay aims to look closer at phonicsand some of the different
approaches used to teach phonics in the classroom. Phonic approaches that will be
discussed in this paper include synthetic phonics, Analytic phonics, Linguist phonics
and Word building.
Phonics is a method that teaches reading and writing, it aims to enhance
investigation into sound letter relationships and the understanding of the alphabet
(Hill, S., 2012, p. 241). Phonics is used to assist with the decoding of words.
However, it should be also used in conjunction with other approaches to allow
readers to comprehend what they are reading not just decode the words. Phonics is
valuable, but not the whole part of learning to read and write. Understanding what
readers are reading is a very important role and should not be overlooked. Gough,
Hoover and Peterson conclude (citied in Damianou, 2016, p. 128) that a child who
cannot decode cannot read; a child who cannot comprehend cannot read either .
Research has found that there are six elements that benefit children who are starting
school that must firstly be fully understood, included are the alphabetic code
22. Self-tranquility and Love in the Book A Perfect Day for...
The word, bananafish may seem like one of the many imaginary words of a child,
but this was actually thought up by a character named Seymour Glass; a man with
the mind of a non adolescent, and the body of a grown person. Married and in love,
Seymour goes off to fight in World War II. Upon his return, he suffered from Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder. Therefore mentally setting him back for the rest of his
life. For example, through the course of the story, a reader may notice how he
tends to block off most of the people who care about him. J.D. Salinger lived with a
similar mindset to Seymour; he blocked off, not only his loved ones, but society
overall. At the time of writing, A Perfect Day for Bananafish, he had an interest in
Zen Buddhism. In Zen Buddhism, self tranquility is a very strong factor to
practicing the religion. However, they both may be private, but Seymour Glass has
the mindset of a child, due to the war trauma. Sybil, a child Seymour meets on the
beach, is a symbol for Seymour s mind. His childlike mindset causes him trouble
adjusting to the reality of society. The cruel reality for Seymour is the greed the
people in his life have. Therefore the term Banana Fever is a reference to the greed
in society. Just like the Bananafish are greedy for bananas, humans are greedy as
well. So, while everyone is infected with Banana fever. Seymour turns to a serious
solution. With this being said, In the story, A Perfect Day for Bananafish JD Salinger

23. Being A Bartender Research Paper
Bartending is a highly competitive career between young and old adults. Many
college student rely on being a bartender as their main source of income. In many
ways, some might say I have the perfect job. I succeed to work in an upbeat
atmosphere, meet new people, and sample some treasured spirits. Most of the time
you can find me laughing with guests while mixing their favorite cocktails on the
menu. I play host to their party and gatekeeper to their alcohol. Some will try to
make friends with me in hopes of free drinks in the future. Although this may sound
like the perfect career there are some disadvantages. Before quitting your day job,
here are a few points to consider. Some of the disadvantages are working late hours,
dealing with a stressful work environment, and inconsistent pay.
To begin, being a bartender will have you putting in the late night work hours. Being
a night owl is an understatement in this career. Many bars close in the early
morning, and leave the bartender to clean up the trash and spilled drinks left behind.
The last concern a barkeep would have is spending two hours cleaning after
babysitting drunk customers all night. The bartender is ... Show more content on

at the end of the night, however, this is not always the case. Sometimes you think
you have cash to spare, as a result of getting paid at the end of every shift.
Consequently, I become more of an impulse shopper. I do not think about saving
money, being that I am not waiting on a paycheck. With this in mind, there are
slow periods during the year when income can be sparse. I discontinue spending
money when I do not have the usual amount of income. I struggle through weeks
where I earn $400, and others upwards of $900. It is difficult to base your bills on
what you are earning. It is also harder to get a loan for anything because there is such

24. A Little Girl s Love of Cinderella
Once upon a time there lived a little girl in a place not so far away. This little girl
never sat still and there was only one thing on Earth that could hold her attention
for more than a few minutes at a time. Every time she heard the familiar chorus of
voices singing her favorite princess s name she would come running and watch the
movie from beginning to end. The little girl would dance around her house in a blue
dress pretending that she had mice best friends and a carriage made from a pumpkin.
She truly believed that if she kept on believing the dream that she wished would
come true. Many years later that same little girl still loves that movie just as much.
That little girl has learned that there is nothing that a tub of chocolate icing and
Cinderellacannot fix. Cinderella apparently didn t have the luxury of eating a tub
of chocolate icing to fix all of her problems, but she did have a fairy godmother. I
have chosen to write my review on the scene where Cinderella s fairy godmother is
introduced and fixes all of her problems with catchy spells. Cinderella had it rough.
Her parents were both dead, her step mother was the pure definition of a bad word
that starts with the letter b, and she was forced to work as a maid in her own father
s house. Until this scene Cinderella always seemed so positive despite her
circumstances, but she broke down after her wicked step sisters destroyed her dress
and ruined her chances of going to the ball. CInderella did the exact same

The purpose of this study for was to better explain the anthropometric and physical
fitness profiles of elite soccer players in the United Arab Emirates. Knowing and
understanding the anthropometric and physical fitness of these players will give
coaches better knowledge of what the best type of training would fit them and
enhance this group of athlete s performance.
Methods of the study: The subjects of this study were 27 elite United Arab

The Corn Law grew into powerful political impact. It was used to attack the
government by registering voters in by elections or general election (p. 358). The
Corn Laws were import tariffs designed to help protect grain prices in Great Britain
and Ireland against competition from the less expensive foreign imports coming
in; in the late18th century and early 19th century. But this still didn t solve the
problem of high prices of other foods. This law was supported by conservative land
owners and workers but during the crisis of the Irish Potato Famine , Peel took
advantage to repeal the Corn Laws. Many of the other Members of Parliament were
for these laws and didn t want to get rid of them but many did want to abolish them.

How do you use your time? We all mean well at the beginning of each day, but
somehow we get off track and waste so much of it. What stands in your way of using
your time wisely?
I try to devote my time to something I am passionate about at a given a moment,
while reasonably keeping in mind all of my outstanding priorities. There is no telling
where some devotion of time might lead. I try not to miss any opportunities which I
might regret not taking later. I don t consider deviating from the plans which I

As for why we do it, it might just be part of the human condition. Often times doing
these things is taking the path of least resistance and escaping from the reality of a
situation that is bringing you some sort of conflict. Similarly, assigning value to the
time we spend on things (especially reflecting on time we might consider wasted ) is
conflicting, mentally taxing and maybe uncomfortable; whether scrolling through
Facebook or mindlessly droning on at work, anything is more appealing to the human
mind than that which requires so much
28. The Light Of Catholic Social Teaching Essay
The Catholic Church believes that human life and human dignity go hand in hand.
A threat to one is an equal threat to the other. The Catechism of the Catholic
Church teaches that, The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as
persons and the rights that flow from it (1935). The Second Vatican Council in
Gaudium et Spes recognized that, ...any kind of social or cultural discrimination in
basic personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language
or religion, must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God s design (29).
In other words, humans were created in God s image and from that we acquire our
dignity and rights because of that holy and sacred origin. The plan was meant for all
to enjoy a basic equality and yet due to sin, the evil of racismhas been allowed to
permeate humanity, thus helping to deny humandignity and human rights. In the light
of Catholic social teaching (CST), one asks the questions, in what ways does racism
help to deny mankind its rights and dignity, and what are we as the Church doing to
help combat this scourge on our communities and on society? Whether one calls it
racism, xenophobia, or prejudice, all humans have an innate tendency to pre judge
others based external characteristics. This becomes a problem when we allow these
observations to become stereotypes where all of one particular community or group
are broadly painted by these subjective observations, normally negative. As
29. As Feminism Has Emerged In Popular Media In Recent
Years,
As feminism has emerged in popular media in recent years, another gender movement
has similarly become visible. This movement is called Men s Rights Activism
(MRA), also commonly known as meninism. Feminism and meninism have both been
given a strong negative connotation by the media, often representing them with the
image of an outspoken, somewhat radical, advocate. Genderand Women s Studies
classes have shined a light on how this does not fully encompass what feminism
represents. In present day, feminism can be seen as positive and uplifting by many
people, not just women, yet meninism has barely been mentioned other than in an
unfavorable manner. Is MRA really such a negative movement, founded on hate?

This ideology has remained the same today, but with a slight modern twist.
As many other areas of study, technology has been very influential in the MRA.
Specifically, it is a way that they have been able to become more visible than ever
before. Many more websites and forums surrounding the topic of Men s Rights
have popped up in recent years. One website in particular, The Men s Activism
News Network, is an online forum that aims to provide pro male activists with news
and information that will aid them in working toward establishing equal rights for
men and the improvement of men s lives. ( The Philosophy ) It is important to note
that nowhere in their philosophy do they mention the need to disprove feminist
ideas, but in the frequently asked question section of their website the topic is
brought up. When asked about their view on feminism they stated, Feminism, if
allowed to continue unchallenged, represents a serious threat to the well being of
men and boys. ( The Philosophy ) The feeling of victimization is just one way in
which their views align with the original consensus of MRA groups. This is just one
organization s ideas, but other groups have similar beliefs.
Every one of these many groups cannot be looked at thoroughly, however Robert
Menzies, a professor of sociology, studied multitudes of these Men s Rights and
antifeminist men s websites. He noted prominent themes such as feminism is

30. Analysis Of `` Fences `` By August Wilson
A family by definition is any group of individuals living together under a common
roof. However, it does happen that sometimes a certain member of the family
decides to forget what it means to be part of a family. August Wilson s Fences
portrays extremely well what happens when a member of the family decides to forget
his or her duties. The use of metaphors and symbols throughout the playsuch as
baseball and fences, illustrate exactly why Troy Maxson as a family man was
destined for disappointment. Rose, Troy s wife in the playwas the obvious voice of
reason between the two; all she wanted was an interrupted happy family life. The
fences that she put up were not physical fences but rather emotional and
psychological ones used to keep her family in line. These fences were made very
clear to both the reader and the other characters in the play. For example when
Bono (Troy s best friend) is questioning Troy s commitment to Rose he said, Some
people build fences to keep people out... and others build fences to keep people in.
Rose wants to hold on to you all. She loves you. (898). This excerpt perfectly
described the different values shared between Rose and Troy but is also a common
generalization of gender roles in most family. The only fence Rose ever set up for
Troy was one of loyalty and commitment. She believed in the strength in numbers
whilst Troy strongly believed in the power of individuality. Troy on the other hand
had a completely different approach when it
31. The Thoughts Of Brahma And The Creation Of God
The Thoughts of Brahma is one of the creation myths in Hindu scripture that explains
the creation of the world that is Earth today. In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator
God, re creates the Earth every four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition.
To create beings, Brahma meditates and uses his mind. Brahma s thoughts are then
transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world, Brahma starts by creating the
evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the good, which
became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then
began thinking strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma
was so horrified with his actions that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he
mistakenly created ghouls as well. Upon moving on from the dark thoughts, Brahma
was able to create all of the other living things we know today.
In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the
creating is good or evil, this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the
world became what it is today, and how its inhabitants were formed.
The Thoughts of Brahma and the Christian creation stories in the book of Genesis
have similarities and differences (Genesis Chapter 1). In both creation stories, a
divine being creates the world and all of the beings that inhabit it. Some differences
are that in the Christian faith, God takes an active role in up keeping and sustaining
the earth. In the Hindu

33. Mass Immigration And Its Impact On The United States
In Britain, since the 1960 s, there was mass immigration from many countries around
the globe, including the majority of people coming from South Asia, Africa and the
West Indies. This mass immigration clearly had a direct impact on the transformation
of London and turned it into the multi ethnic city that we have today. However, it is
debatable whether this entire process of large scale immigration can be considered a
smooth process due to the fact that there were many challenges that immigrants had
to face upon arrival in Britain, as well as well as the backlash of non immigrants who
were not particularly tolerant towards those who belonged to an ethnicity different to
their own. Evidence shows that there were many examples of segregation,
discrimination and bigotry in Londonas well as a division in political opinions too.
On the other hand, although there were many issues and tensions arising during this
period, it can also be seen that in some ways there were many positive outcomes as a
result of the large scale of immigration. One of the many ways that this can be seen is
through the gradual change in many people s attitudes towards different ethnic
backgrounds, a beginning of integration between people belonging to different ethnic
backgrounds and an increasing sense of community between the people of London.
Whilst analysing the scale of immigration since the 1960 s and transformation of
London into a multi ethnic city, many historians would agree with the
34. Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism
1. Trends Analysis of Dubai s Job Marketplace
The job marketplace in Dubai is one unlike anywhere in the world. This is due to a
number of reasons that generally stem from two factors, the readily available supply
of cheap labour, and a rapidly developing economy (Dubai, 2009). Whilst most people
might believe that Dubai s economy is largely dependent on oil, many don t realise
that oil currently only comprises approximately 10% of the emirates economy. In the
last fifteen years Dubai has made significant investments around the world and has
funded a huge number of projects within the emirate it s self, pushing towards
creating Dubai the ultimate tourist destination (Current economy, 2009).

It provides people with a number of links to both general or industry specific
websites, and would be an essential tool to use in finding hospitality or tourism jobs
in the emirate. Locally, newspapers such as the 7 Days , Khaleej Times or Gulf
News may also be used to search for jobs. These companies do have websites but the
classifieds are somewhat outdated and not nearly as comprehensive as they are in
print.
3. Potential Jobs
When looking for a hospitality and tourism job in Dubai, there is one important
factor that one must consider. Whilst Dubai might seem to have a number of
different hotels and attractions, most of these are owned and run by a select number
of larger hotel and resort groups (Collins, 2007). Therefore, when looking for a job
and more importantly a career path, one would be wise to investigate the particular
group or chain rather than the specific hotel, restaurant or resort that they may be
considering.
The Jumeriah Hotel Group is one of the most recognized and well established
groups in Dubai. They were recently awarded the Hewitt Best Employers in the
Middle East Award in 2009, and it is primarily for these reasons that all five of the
potential jobs (Appendix I V) that were selected are within the Jumeriah Hotel Group.
A high quality working environment is critical in any career choice, as

is the thing though lots of people enjoy getting a new animal. Especially if that
animal is a pure breed . So the argument ensues. There are two clear sides, one side
says we should only adopt animals and get them neutered/spayed. The other side
says we should be able to buy our petswithout anything stopping us. Both sides have
valid points, but we should voice our own questions. Like does buying an animal from

Breeding an animal is said to be better all around. You have a knowledge of who is
the parents to this animal and how they were treated. You know if the animal age and
you know what kind of health risk you may get from the animal.
Breeding is said to be superior to adopting and one of those reasons said is that by
breeding an animal the animal is pure bred. By having a pure bred animal you can
breed more like that animal. You have papers that say your animal is pure bred.
Being pure bred is kind of like being an upper class citizen. You get treated better,
you get better food, and animal health is treated similar to a humans.
Breeders will even tell you around the age your animal will be able to live up to. This
is because you have a healthy pure bred animal. You can sell the animal for higher
profit. Money makes a big difference and when you can make a profit on animals be
it dog shows to selling dairy cows. For example, we know there is such a thing as
high quality animals. Especially in our food. One of the most bragged about pure
breeding is that the animal is better around. Stronger, higher quality, and less likely to
die at a young age.
Con side breeding animals Breeding animals can be harsh for the animals. They could
be bred into an animal mill where they are cooped up in cages all day and never get
to go out. The animal like chickens, dogs, or cats, etc. Can be bred massively. This is
all to have higher production. Which means more money.

37. Portrayal Of Female Empowerment And Gender Roles
Essay
In politics, power is a crucial component, and having authority over others is critical
in legitimizing that power. Women consistently lack agency and power, especially in
political spheres. Fantastical worlds, like HBO s television series Game of Thrones
(GoT), portray women in roles of empowerment, but their poweris contingent on men
and on their own sexuality. Despite gaining positions in political power, women only
attain that power or can only use that power in the realm of men and masculinity. This
essay argues that women in Game of Thrones, as political and non political actors,
are only powerful to the extent to which it roots from archetypical masculine
characteristics and to which it advances their storylines from a man s standpoint. To
do so, I will first contrast political power and apolitical power, namely in terms of
female participation and involvement. Next, I will examine HBO s Game of Thrones
in relation to its portrayal of female empowerment and of stereotypical genderroles.
This paper will then distinguish notable Game of Thrones female characters as
political powerful and apolitically powerful actors. This paper will conclude with
an analysis of how Game of Thrones magnifies women s roles in political power
while also generalizing women as powerful only in regards to their sexuality.
Power is central to politics and political action. The Oxford Dictionaries (2016)
characterize politics as the principles relating to or inherent in a sphere or activity,
38. Socioeconomic Status And Academic Achievement
Introduction:
There are many different factors that affect a student s academic success in the
education system. One of the main factors that play a part in a student academic
success is where their family lies on the socio economic scale. The components of
socioeconomic status income, parent education and parent occupation are each
statistically significant predictors of student achievement (Buckingham, Wheldall,
Beamnan Whelldan, 2013). Socioeconomic status defines not just the income of an
individual but also that educational attainment, financial security, and subjective
perceptions of social status and social class (APA, 2017). Socioeconomic Status and
Academic Achievement is an important topic to discuss as many of our students in
the education system are either on the bottom of the scale or the top and to find
accurate resources to help these students succeed academically we have to look at the
research regarding socioeconomic status. Socioeconomic status affects the human
functioning overall psychical and mental health. The research has found that students
from families with lower social economic status struggle more than those students
who come from a higher social economic status due to the slower development in
academic skills as they are focused on so many different skills at one time than those
who are from higher socioeconomic status communities. Along with that, school
systems in lower socioeconomic status neighborhoods are often under resourced,

Rationale
My book The Moves That Make The Man, was set in North Carolina. During this
time the civil rights movement was in full swing. The two main characters Braxton
Rivers and Jerome Foxworthy are best friends. In the book, they become better
friends every page turn. My project is a basketball with tape and symbols/pictures on
it. My project is extremely symbolic tho it doesn t look like much.
The tape stand symbolizes how Jerome and Braxton are keeping each other up. With
no Braxton, Jerome wouldn t be standing. Jerome has had many difficulties and Bix

training for his basketball match versus his stepfather. Jerome and Bix have a very

40. The Challenges Of Identity In Paul Auster s City Of Glass
In the book City of Glass, by Paul Auster, identity is used to develop and establish
existence in society. The author shows the challenges of identity by showing Daniel
Quinn struggling to develop his own identity. The struggle of identity is carried
through the text as Quinn bounces from one persona to the next. Nicola Caleffi s
article called Paul Austers Urban Nothingness supports the idea that Daniel Quinn s
character struggles finding his identity, as he takes on many different identities as his
surroundings change. Identity is constantly changing as a result of its surroundings
making it hard to remain stable and avoid deteriation.
The text City of Glass shows how challenging it can be to establish one s identity.
The narrator uses Daniel Quinn to depict the ongoing battle to find one s true self.
In the beginning of the book we see how the author foreshadows that at the end of
the book there will be the answers to Daniel Quinn s identity, as the narrator shares
At the same time, it was also the physical eye of the writer, the eye of the man who
looks out from himself into the world and demands that the world reveal itself to
him. (Auster 8). This quote was telling us that Quinn is expecting to find the answer
to his identity. Nicola Caleffi wrote an article called Paul Auster s Urban
Nothingness. Where he shares the expression alludes to Auster s view of reality, a
reality that melts more and more as our look gets close to it. The core idea of modern

journalism history. She understood how powerful her words were and she used
her press to uncover the rotten truth on the sexual and racial challenges in the

Americans had to endure daily. For instance, in the article Ida B. Wells Barnett

to ride in the colored car. Gupta also mentions a time where Ida B. Wells three

capacity for expansion will lead to congestion, and the resultant problem can be
unpleasant. According to FAA data, during weather or air traffic control delays, 12

43. Copernicus Vs Galileo
The Government of Galileo s time, the Church, placed him under house arrest in
1633. Galileo was tried after publishing a book explaining his belief in Copernicus
s model of our solar system, which went against what the church taught. Many
believed that we (Earth) were the center with the known planets revolving round,
while Copernicus and Galileo believed the Solar System was Sun centered
(Heliocentric Model). Galileo and Copernicus scientifically proved they were right
by watching the Constellations (Zodiacs), Venus s phases, and Mar s orbit that
appears to go backward. In the following pages I ll be explaining why Galileo
should have been released from house arrest. Constellations, also known as the
Zodiacs, could be seen in the night
44. The Threat of the Haqqani Network
In the current 21st century, Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO s) have arisen in
abundance throughout the world. These organizations do not only wreak havoc in
their own region, but they proceed to terrorize the lives of civilians and political
figures in foreign nations as well. An organization that the United States could
consider a terroristic threat may not be considered a threat to another nation; this
international dilemma generally correlates with the nation in questions definition of
terrorism, based off of the social context and the social construct (the way people
view reality) in that particular nations region at the time. A social context can be
described as the historical, political and criminological circumstances at a... Show

It has been said that even Jalaluddin Haqqani himself was a CIA informant
(Stanford, 2010). There were many significant days in history for the development
and recognition of the Haqqani Network and family, one of which being October of
2001 when Haqqani was appointed as the Taliban military commander; it is believed
today that Haqqani aided Osama bin Laden to a safe passage to Pakistan after the U.S
invasion of Afghanistan. Today it is believed that Jalaluddin s son Sirajuddin
Haqqani is the primary leader of the Haqqani Network, it is likely that the group is
under a joint leadership.
In 1996 when the Taliban took over Afghanistan, Haqqani began to thrive in their
small knit organization. For the past decade the Haqqani Network has been primarily
based in North Waziristan, Pakistan even though much of their focus is in
Afghanistan. Like many terrorist organizations in the Middle Eastern region, the
Haqqani Network utilizes suicide bombings, IEDs, small arms violence, extortion,
kidnapping, and smuggling to raise support and cripple foreign forces in the region
(Stanford, 2010). There are some arguments backed around the belief that they were
the first to pioneer suicide bombing in Afghanistan. The Haqqani Networks
technologies are easily the most advanced in terrorist organizations, they often use
radio frequency bomb detonators rather than pressure triggered
45. Indian Consumers Spending Patterns On Frozen Desserts
Indian Consumers Spending Patterns on Frozen Desserts VishakhaRaut
AniketAmbardekar Abstract The research paper talks about how product
attributes and demographic variables affect the decisions of consumers to re
purchase frozen desserts. The data was collected from sixty three respondents
across various age groups, income levels, gender, etc. Vadilal s, Amul and Mother
Diary have a higher usage rate as compared to other brands. Frozen desserts are
generally preferred during special occasions than regular use. Moreover, there
were relationships between re purchase decision and demographics.
INTRODUCTION Frozen desserts is the universal name given to desserts that are
made by freezing liquids, semi solids and sometimes even solids. They can be
based on flavoured water i.e. shave ice, sorbets, snow cones, etc., on fruit purees
like sorbet, on milk and cream i.e. ice creams, on custards, on mousse and many
others. The term Frozen Dessert is often used for products that are identical to the
taste and texture of ice cream but do not meet the legalized definition of the term.
Frozen Desserts are often made with vegetable oil i.e.mellorine as opposed to milk
or cream. In the recent past there has been a substantial evolution in the category of
ice cream and frozen desserts. A decade ago this category was limited to traditional
flavours of ice creams such as vanilla, chocolate, kesarpista, mango, elaichi,
butterscotch, kulfi, etc. In the recent years, this category has grown and
46. My Internship At Future Perfect Ventures
My internship at FuturePerfect Ventures has been an incredible learning experience
and a stepping stone for a fulfilling career path. I have known that I wanted to pursue
a career in financial communications before I even started the internship search
process. My experience at FuturePerfect Ventures not only solidified my desire to
work in this specific industry but also gave me the opportunityto build on my existing
skills and allowed me to have first hand experiencein this area. Thus, my internship at
FuturePerfect Ventures has been, in many ways, more than a learningexperience but
also what Nathaniel Kolac, the author of the Harvard Business Review article,
Build a Career Worth Having, refers as a valuable stepping stone, one of the many
experiences that help create the path to a successful, fulfilling career. All of my
previous internship experiences have allowed me to hone in on and strengthen
different skills. In his article, Kolac stresses the importance of treating one s career
like a grand experiment in order to develop a valuable career. My internship at
FuturePerfect Ventures was certainly a grand experiment for me. While I was able to
learn a lot about the financial industry, investing, and startups, I also I had to rely on
the communications related skills that I learned in my graduate classes and from
previous internship experiences to help me because I was not interning for a
communications team. Now that I ve interned at FuturePerfect Ventures for
47. Ntozake Shange
Growing up in the late 20th century, Ntozake Shange witnessed many movements,
such as the sexual revolution, that shaped her outlook on life. After separating from
her first husband, Shange reflects on the limitations society forces on women,
specifically black women. She goes on to proclaim herself a black feminist and her
passion for equality for women became evident in her literary works.1 Lisa Gail
Collins, professor of art at Vassar College with an emphasis on African American
lives, observes that Shange saw the need for female imagery and was determined to
create a new image and reality for people of color, especially women.2 Inspired by the
various liberation movements in the 20th century, Ntozake Shange incorporates

Women began to question the sexual roles society dictated for them and began
thinking of what they desired. At the core of the sexual revolution was the concept
that women, just like men, enjoyed sex and had sexual needs. Feminists demanded
that single women have the freedom to explore their sexual desire and needs as
single men were afforded.3 The importance of sexual independence for black
women is evident in the poem get it and feel good. Shange wants the reader to be
excited about the idea of taking charge in their love life and taking time to explore
their options. Shange proclaims, if you want somebody with guts, you cd go to a
rodeo, a prize fight, or a gang war might be up your alley. There s somebody out
there with something you want, not alla it, but a lil bit from here there can add up
in the long run. 4 Here Shange is demonstrating the importance of women having a
choice of where to find love or someone to give them satisfaction. Even if a woman
does not find what she is looking for right away, she should have the freedom to
explore, an idea inspired by the sexual revolution occurring during Shange s teenage
years that she took with her. Moreover, Shange stirs the reader by visual images that
can be depicted while reading about the various, peculiar places that one can find
