SAMPLE Scope of Services and Deliverables
CLIENT requires an updated Business Intelligence/Analytics Strategy and an Implementation Roadmap to inform,
improve, and transform their business operations and both the near and long-term strategy. To that end, the overall
goal for this project is to develop and deliver a BI and Analytics Strategy Plan keeping in mind informational needs
of the enterprise; an Infrastructure Recommendation and a Deployment Roadmap to guide them in the development
of the next generation of BI & analytic capabilities and supporting infrastructure.
In order to achieve these objectives, CLIENT is seeking Saama’s assistance with the following activities:
▪ Current State/Future State and Gap: Assess the current state architecture and applications to help
CLIENT determine the level of fit with future state analytics capabilities
▪ Business Requirements: Identify the organization’s functional objectives and use cases for business
intelligence, reporting, data presentation/visualization and analytical capabilities
▪ Information needs: Identify the right informational needs from source systems in order to support
business requirements
▪ Future State Blueprint: Recommend architecture, organization and process choices required to meet
CLIENT’s defined BI and Analytic capability needs.Work in conjunction with the CLIENT team to define
a recommended future state for data and analytics
▪ Roadmap: Define a roadmap of recommended initiatives to achieve the future state strategy,technology
architecture and supporting organization model and support infrastructure
Approach:
- Week 1: Stakeholder kickoff with key functional stakeholder leadership
- Week 1 / 2: Review of current reports in functional subject areas
- Week 1 / 2: IT interviews on current state data sources and architecture
- Week 2 / 3: Operational user/ stakeholder interviews for process and pain points assessment
- Week 4: Facilitated cross functional stakeholder workshop for requirements
- Week 5 / 6: Follow up meetings / deep dives as needed with operational users for requirements validation
- Week 5 / 6: Requirements and architecture documentation
- Week 6 / 7: IT working sessions fordrafting Technical blueprint and Roadmap
- Week 7 / 8: Final Presentation and Validation
Notes:
 The above are general planning assumptions for the project overall. In practice, there may be overlaps
of the work and adjustments will be made based on scheduling flexibility and logistics. Saama will
make necessary reasonable adjustments in coordination with the project sponsorthrough the execution
of the project.
 Saama has scoped the approach to include up to 20 stakeholderinterviews (including follow ups)and
an 8 week time-boxed end to end project execution. Within these constraints,Saama will optimize the
schedule and make every attempt to capture requirements from each of the functional areas
(enumerated below by CLIENT in order of priority).

Deliverables:
1. Current State Assessment:Saama will perform a Readiness Assessment of CLIENT data and analytics
capabilities, including:
 Business capabilities maturity
 Technology architecture readiness
 Organization, skills and process
 Data quality and stewardship
 Data governance and management
2. Future State Use Cases / Requirements: Saama will consolidate existing information, results from the
defined client business unit interviews, and industry standard and leading requirements into a set of
recommendations for a future state blueprint of key analytical requirements for CLIENT. The requirements
will focus on the key reporting and analytics capabilities that will support functional groups and business
user communities.
3. Architecture Blueprint: Based on the identified requirements, an assessment of the current technology
stack, Saama’s experience with the relevant tools,applications and platforms, and collaboration with
CLIENT stakeholders regarding the selection criteria, Saama will recommend a future state technology
architecture blueprint to resolve the identified BI/Analytics capability requirement gaps.We always strive
to leverage our client’s existing investments and co-opt these investments into a modern, cutting-edge
architecture.
4. BI and Analytics Roadmap: Using CLIENT s requirements and data / technical dependencies as inputs to
the plan, Saama will create a consolidated roadmap of initiatives for driving the BI and Analytics
transformation
