Sally Joubert of Luma Research and Martin Tomlinson of Research Now presented findings from their research on using smartphones for market research applications and surveys. Their research consisted of two phases testing static and video advertising on smartphones and desktops. They found some encouraging consistencies in brand bonding and attention measures between online and mobile surveys. Their results suggest smartphones are a viable platform for market research, though further methodological development is still needed, including using passive data collection.
