Key duties/responsibilities for sales manager 
1. Assures staffing remains within authorized levels. 
2. Routinely inspects market to insure adherence to Company merchandising policies and 
to measure progress in sales development, display attainment and competitive activity. 
3. Assists route salespersons in achieving additional sales increases by identifying route 
opportunities, providing merchandising and promotional instruction and assisting in 
the placement of in-store displays, point-of-purchase material and racks. 
4. Establishes and revises route schedules quarterly to maximize sales distribution by 
route and to improve service to customers. 
5. Schedules and implements weekly dock meetings with Route Salespersons to review 
promotional display goals, seasonal push item distribution, and service schedule goals. 
6. Improves sales distribution by obtaining additional shelf space, new product 
authorizations, secondary in-store locations, adjustments in product mix, approval of 
promotions and acquiring new accounts in conjunction with the route salesperson. 
7. Coordinates training program for new employees including handheld, driving, safety, 
sales presentation skills, and mentor assignment. 
8. Works to improve customer relations and develop new sales distribution. 
9. Evaluates activity of competitors and overall market conditions. Reports this 
information weekly to the Senior District Sales Manager/Regional Sales Manager. 
10. Maintains responsibility for the overall security and general welfare of the sales 
warehouse and/or sales bin (s).
Key job qualifications for sales manager 
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 10+ years equivalent business 
experience 
2. 4-8 years of experience as a key sales management resource for initiating 
contact, identifying the key client stakeholders and closing deals with 
F100 companies. 
3. Experience negotiating and closing deals. Proven closing skills are a 
requirement 
4. 8-10 years of experience of services sales in the IT field selling into F100 
clients. Quota attainment a requirement. 
5. Ideally, experience a Vertical Market ASP (Application Service Provider) 
that is marketing oriented for corporate procurement specialists. 
6. Firm grasp of procurement concerns and objectives. Ability to explain how 
our ASP procurement services allow them to efficiently manage their
