Colegio S.C.M. provides the Basic Education to children from 5th to 9th grade
(10-15-year-olds) with a curriculum based on the Portuguese Education System.
Colegio Sagrado Coração de Maria is a
non-profit Catholic Educational School, integrated
in the Portuguese National Education System.
It is identified as belonging to the RSHM network
and has a lay leadership (director).

It is recognised by the Portuguese Ministry of
     Education and has pedagogical autonomy
according to the Private and Co-operative
Education Statute (Estatuto do Ensino Particular e
Cooperativo), which gives legal rights, financial aid
and defines the State’ s role in controlling the
           quality of the education offered.
OUR EDUCATION PROPOSAL
The future of the world belongs to the young generations, who were
born in the last century but will grow up in the XXI century.
We must help them to acquire skills and values, in order to build a
respectable place in a society strongly characterized by technological
and scientific knowledge, while promoting their global identity.

Being a "Catholic School" means having a public proposal, similar to
public schools, so that the families can choose freely the kind of
education/ instruction they want to give to their children.

Internally, we - the educational community - intend to build up a
relational style, increase collaboration among the different members of
the educational community (students, parents, teachers and non
teaching staff) that enables a true learning environment and
                           a qualified education.

In collaboration with the Fatima Rehabilitation Centre for

Being with disabled children, teenagers and adults worked out
