STaR The Texas Teacher STaR Chart was created to provide information on the four key areas of the long range technology plan. Teaching and Learning;  Educator Preparation and Development;  Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support;  Infrastructure for Technology .
STaR The Texas STaR chart offers teachers the tools to answer critical questions of practice while providing important NCLB documentation.
STaR charts meet the Standards The State Board of Educator Certification has published technology standards for all teachers in Texas. Standard I.  All teachers use technology-related terms, concepts, data input strategies and ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications. Standard II.  All teachers identify task requirements, apply search strategies and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.
STaR charts meet the Standards Standard III.  All teachers use task-appropriate tools to synthesize knowledge, create and modify solutions and evaluate results in a way that supports the work of individuals and groups in problem-solving situations. Standard IV . All teachers communicate information in different formats and for diverse audiences. Standard V.  All teachers know how to plan, organize, deliver and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.
Implementation Texas teachers complete an on-line survey and use the profile annually to measure their progress in integrating technology into teaching and learning.  Campus and district summary data can be reported to school boards, community groups, and technology planning committees as it is aligned with state and local goals.  Statewide summary data is reported to state and federal policymakers.

Data from the last three years at HHS shows slow and steady progress in each one of the domains.
Conclusions Over the last five years campuses state wide have made steady progress. Growth on our campus mirrors the statewide trends. We have a distinct advantage over other campuses in technology infrastructure. Our challenge is to leverage our advantages to help drive growth in instruction.
