The Texas STaR Chart Mission: The Long-Range Plan is designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress for meeting the state recommended technology goals.
The Texas STaR Chart is an assessment tool that focuses on four key areas of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology: Teaching and Learning  Educator Preparation and Development  Leadership Administration and Instructional Support  Infrastructure for Technology
Teaching and Learning Goals Learners will have 24/7 access to technologies, tools, resources, and services for individualized instruction Communicate in a variety of formats for diverse audiences. In all subject areas students will use research based strategies to improve academic achievement. Use communication to construct knowledge, collaborate, and provide solutions to real world problems.
Educator Preparation and Development When learning is collaborative and interactive educators develop new learning environments using technology. Integrate technology throughout all curriculum and instruction. Complete technology education programs and effectively implement them into the teaching and learning process. Graduate from an educator preparation program that models current technology.
Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support Provide opportunity for relevant and timely staff development in a variety of formats. Use data effectively and appropriately in the decision making process. Offer expanded curricular and instructional opportunities to students through a variety of learning technologies. Create innovative, flexible, and responsive environments to maximize teaching, learning, and community environment.
Infrastructure Technical assistance to support teaching and learning. Measures to ensure all data is secure and accurate. 24/7 access to all e-learning technologies for all users. Data standards to support interoperability and accessibility for all users.
