2. What is a Run-on Sentence?
A run-on sentence is made when two or more independent
clauses are joined together without proper punctuation OR
conjunctions.

What is an Independent Clause…?
Term Definition
Independent clause a group of words that includes a subject and a
verb, and can stand alone as a complete thought

6. Fixing Run-on Sentences:
Run-on sentences can be fixed with:
1. a period separating the two independent clauses, making two
separate sentences.
2. a coordinating conjunction connecting the two independent
clauses.
3. a comma and a coordinating conjunction, but the comma is
optional.

word like:
for, and, nor, but, or, yet, and so. (also
known as FANBOYS).
These words are used to join two
independent clauses.
