Budget Justification
Senior Personnel
The senior personnel in this research include a single primary investigator and two co-primary investigators.
Prof. Amanda Dorothy is a Senior Professor at the Alama Medical School. She is a decorated psychiatrist and a renowned researcher of Mental Health issues. She will serve as the PI at a summer salary for one and a half months at $10,000
Dr. Hillary Hughes is an Associate Professor and he is willing to assist in the project as co-PI with a request of two and a half months of summer salary of $8,000.
Dr. Doreen Mucahu is also an Associate Professor and she is willing to work as the second Co-PI with a request of a one and a half months for $7,000
Other Personnel
Mr. Robert Rowling’s is a full-time research data analyst and he is willing to devote half of his working hours to this research at the fee ($12,000).
Three graduate students have been requested to assist in the research at a fee of $5,000 each. The students will assist in collecting data from the various entry point and administration of questionnaires.
Fringe Benefits
This is a convenience fee to be paid to those who commit to working with the researchers (Dawson, 2019). The fringe benefits were calculated at 20% of the salaries offered for the investigators and the data analyst. The graduates will not receive this part of the benefit, as they are not listed in the School policy.
Equipment
There is a need for acquisition of the analysis machine that will be used exclusively in this research project. The manufacturer has quoted $9,000 for the full package.
Travel
The primary investigators and the co-PIs will travel to a conference on methods of diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s at an estimated cost of $1,500. For the local logistics of the investigators and the graduate students, we will require $1,700 for automobile mileage.

Abstract
The practice problem identified is headache sufferers are not adequately getting their headaches controlled. They are utilizing the emergency room for pain control which only gives them immediate control but not long-term control. The emergency rooms are becoming overcrowded. Controlling headache patients pain will help keep them out of the emergency room and help to decrease the overcrowding of the emergency rooms. Controlling the headache pains will also help decrease costs to consumers and the healthcare system. Case managers can help not only educate these patients, but they can increase better continuity of care and be able to provide feedback to the physicians. The better educated these patients are, the less likely they are to go to the emergency room. The practice problem question to be answered is to examine if an education plan along with a plan of care with primary care provider and network, will assist in increasing headache control and ultimately keep these patients out of the emergency rooms. The purpose of this project will be to implement an education protocol for headache patients to evaluate usage of the emergency department for headache pain control. Models that will be useful for this project are Pender’s Health Promotion Model and the Health Belief Model. These models will help to evaluate individuals and how they interact and behave in order to be able to change their behavior and help them to control their headache pain. This protocol can be included for provider’s and case managers within a clinically integrated network so that a greater number of patients can be managed effectively to decrease emergency room visits. The expected results will be this educational protocol will help patients control their headaches better and will assist in decreasing emergency room visits. The implications of this project will include increased control on headaches, decrease emergency room visits from headaches, and better quality of life for headache patients.

This chapter discusses the findings and recommendations from a study on pandemic preparedness. The study used a cohort study design to assess preparedness levels in local hospitals. A questionnaire was administered to emergency management coordinators to collect data on facility planning, workforce capacity, and surge capacity. Qualitative data was also collected through interviews. The results showed both strengths and limitations in pandemic plans and capacity. Recommendations include continued planning and identification of gaps to improve readiness for future pandemics.

Heart failure is one of the most common types of chronic conditions among the elderly, which results into increased readmissions globally. This statistic is attributable to poor coordination and communication in the transition care settings. The various care settings include skilled nursing facilities, acute-care hospitals, long-standing care facilities and ambulatory stay (Naylor et al., 2017). This research paper is aimed at investigating the reason for poor continuity of care in transition care facilities. A detailed literature review was performed regarding the standard of care in such settings for patients with heart failure. The research methodologies used include case study methods, interviews, and administration of questionnaires. Probability and non-probability methods including stratified sampling and convenience sampling were used as the sampling methodologies. The necessary tools for data collection include questionnaires, interviews, schedules and observation techniques. In addition, an algorithm was created during this design phase. Thus, an insight into the design phase is sought and discussed herein.
Literature Review
Heart failure is a prolonged condition that has been highlighted as one of the top causes of public health complications in the world. The American Journal of Accountable care provides detailed information on heart failure as a public health problem. According to this journal, there are numerous causes of readmission of patients undergoing the transition care model (A Literature Review of Heart Failure Transitional Care Interventions, 2019). The journal highlights various issues, such as early discharge, poor management of underlying problems, poor coordination among key stakeholders and early discharge of patients as the major causes of readmission. All such issues can, however, be prevented and thus this research will discuss some of the coping methods. In addition, the US medical beneficiaries discuss the quality and safety in the transition care model (Teno et al. , 2018). Some of the beneficiaries state their experiences following being admitted into the transition care model. This article complements the previous article by adding real life case study analysis of patients who have been previously admitted to the transition care. Further, interviews of clinicians working in the transition care model are highlighted with an explanation of failure to conduct follow up visits of particular patients.

This project charter outlines a research study on autism spectrum disorders to be conducted by EBOCT Technologies over 12 months. Development of a Hybrid Dynamic Expert System for the Diagnosis of Peripheral...ijtsrd
This paper presents the development of a hybrid dynamic expert system for the diagnosis of peripheral diabetes and remedies using a rule based machine learning technique. The aim was to develop a solution to the risk factors of peripheral diabetes. The methodology applied in this study is the experimental method, and the software design methodology used was the agile methodology. Data was collected from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospitals NAUTH and the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital LASUTH for patients between the ages of 28 87years suffering from peripheral neuropathy. Other methods used were data integration by applying uniform data access UDA technique, data processing using Infinite Impulse Response Filter IIRF , data extraction with a computerized approach, machine learning algorithm with Dynamic Feed Forward Neural Network DFNN , rule base algorithm. The modeling of the hybrid dynamic expert system and remedies was achieved using the DFNN for the detection of DPN and a rule based model for remedies and recommendations. The models were implemented with MATLAB and Java programming languages. The result when evaluated achieved a Mean Square Error MSE of 4.9392e 11 and Regression R of 0.99823. The implication of the result showed that the peripheral diabetes detection model correctly learns the peripheral diabetes attributes and was also able to correctly detect peripheral diabetes in patients. The model when compared with other sophisticated models also showed that it achieved a better regression score. The reason was due to the appropriate steps used in the data preparation such as integration and the use of IIFR filter, feature extraction, and the deep configuration of the regression model. Data collection methods vary greatly depending on the research question and the type of participants, regardless of chosen methodology, data collection must be rigorously executed to produce high-quality data. Similarly, instruments to collect data must provide accurate, concise, and provide quantifiable data from which clinical meaning can be extrapolated and subsequently applied to effect improvements in practice. In this case, research aims to assess patient satisfaction, from the patient’s perspective. Polit & Beck (2017), report that structured self-report instruments are widely used by nurse researchers, and are typically formatted as either questionnaires or interviews. Surveys provide several advantages. In comparison to interviews, they are cost-effective, maintain the anonymity of respondents, mitigate interviewer bias, and can be easily administered using computer technology. Disadvantages to surveys include low response rates; typically around 50%, exclusion of certain populations such as the elderly and children, questions may lack depth, or be ambiguous or confusing causing respondents to skip them altogether (Polit & Beck, 2017)

Point-of-Care Testing (PoCT) has dramatically taken over the field of clinical laboratory testing since it’s introduction approximately 45 years ago. The technologies utilized in PoCT have been refined to deliver accurate and expedient test results and will become even more sensitive and accurate in order to dominate the field of clinical laboratory testing. Furthermore, there will be a dramatic increase in the volume of clinical testing performed outside of the laboratory. New and emerging PoCT technologies utilize sophisticated molecular techniques such as polymerase chain reaction to aid in the treatment of major health problems worldwide, such as sexually transmitted infections (John & Price, 2014).

In the early-to-mid 1990’s, bench top analyzers entered the clinical laboratory scene. These analyzers were much smaller than the conventional analyzers being used, and utilized touch-screen PCs for ease of use. This paper presents the development of a hybrid dynamic expert system for the diagnosis of peripheral diabetes and remedies using a rule based machine learning technique. The aim was to develop a solution to the risk factors of peripheral diabetes. The methodology applied in this study is the experimental method, and the software design methodology used was the agile methodology. Data was collected from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospitals NAUTH and the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital LASUTH for patients between the ages of 28 87years suffering from peripheral neuropathy. Other methods used were data integration by applying uniform data access UDA technique, data processing using Infinite Impulse Response Filter IIRF , data extraction with a computerized approach, machine learning algorithm with Dynamic Feed Forward Neural Network DFNN , rule base algorithm. The modeling of the hybrid dynamic expert system and remedies was achieved using the DFNN for the detection of DPN and a rule based model for remedies and recommendations. The models were implemented with MATLAB and Java programming languages. The result when evaluated achieved a Mean Square Error MSE of 4.9392e 11 and Regression R of 0.99823. The implication of the result showed that the peripheral diabetes detection model correctly learns the peripheral diabetes attributes and was also able to correctly detect peripheral diabetes in patients. The model when compared with other sophisticated models also showed that it achieved a better regression score. The reason was due to the appropriate steps used in the data preparation such as integration and the use of IIFR filter, feature extraction, and the deep configuration of the regression model. Data collection methods vary greatly depending on the research question and the type of participants, regardless of chosen methodology, data collection must be rigorously executed to produce high-quality data. Similarly, instruments to collect data must provide accurate, concise, and provide quantifiable data from which clinical meaning can be extrapolated and subsequently applied to effect improvements in practice. In this case, research aims to assess patient satisfaction, from the patient’s perspective. Polit & Beck (2017), report that structured self-report instruments are widely used by nurse researchers, and are typically formatted as either questionnaires or interviews. Surveys provide several advantages. In comparison to interviews, they are cost-effective, maintain the anonymity of respondents, mitigate interviewer bias, and can be easily administered using computer technology. Disadvantages to surveys include low response rates; typically around 50%, exclusion of certain populations such as the elderly and children, questions may lack depth, or be ambiguous or confusing causing respondents to skip them altogether (Polit & Beck, 2017)

Introduction: What is currently standing in my way of achieving these goals?I intend to do is a complete turnaround and modification of behavior and perspective in how to be better in leadership. One of the first crucial changes involves changing my habits and specifically ensuring that I am well informed on issues that affect the individuals under my leadership. This is in line with opening communication more and avoiding seclusion and being alone as it is the role of a leader to be always communicating or around his followers at most times. More crucial is to change how I conduct decision making and implement more logical and practical consideration to every situation as it is always good to find an advantage for everybody. To lead the mission to a fruitful conclusion, a leader must establish priorities and utilize the talents, creativity, resources and energy of his followers, generally imperfect individuals, and empower them to rise to and occasionally beyond their previously assumed potential. Great leaders establish a plan, a map to help them organize and ensure they have an appropriate and effective team in place, clearly communicate the plan to and lead their followers to the destination (Jackson, 2012)
Personal values: Needless to say, “all leaders, all human beings, have values. Values are beliefs that represent an individual’s ideas about what is right, good or desirable (Robbins, S. P. & Judge T. A., 2011, p. 144). My philosophy on leadership is founded on my collective life experiences, reflections, successes, and failures. I see a great correlation in terms of how leaders and followers come to meet and get a way forward. As such, I should express more respect for the leaders and followers that are able to listen and interact with me as it shows they support some of my opinions in terms of strength through relationships. I intend to essentially align and try to use my values as a guideline in everything I participate in and everything I say in my work, my relationships and in my family. Also, it is the nature of humans to make errors once in a while but not too often. As such, it is important to be more compassionate and understanding in order to provide an opportunity for them and me to learn from it as their failures are my failures. Introduction
Electronic Health Record (EHR) is the computerized storage and sharing of patients’ health information to help in continuous monitoring of the patients’ health (Shickel B., 2017). This is a system developed to enable health clinics share information that can help in providing effective medication to the patients with different kinds of health needs. The data on patients is stored and accessed by the clinics during visits from the patient which will help in care management of the patients. An electronic health record system can be helpful as the information stored consist of medical history of a patient, laboratory tests, treatment plans, immunization dates and various allergies of the patients. This is helpful when the patient visits different clinic health providers where they will not need to explain the situations over and over again.
Electronic health record system automates information sharing and reduces the traditional paper work which was tiresome and had a great risk of losing information. With the HER, information on patients is kept in a secure system where only authorized persons can access it. Errors are minimized in provision of health care since the information kept can be more accurate and available at any given time.
Wasatch Family Clinic will greatly benefit from this strategy of recording, keeping and sharing of information on patients. The nurses can use the system to easily record the patients’ names, numbers and all other critical information required during scheduling for clinical attendance of any patient. Tracing of the information will be easier compared to using the traditional form of papers in storing information for a patient.
Need to share data
Information on health status of a patient has to be kept with care and only authorized persons can be able to access them. This helps in building ethical handling of patients’ information which creates their trust on the health care providers (Drazen J., 2015).
Wasatch Family Clinic needs to share their health data with the patients for them to understand their health issues. The clinic also needs to share data with other health facilities in order to increase the patient’s safety and a great care.
Duplicate registrations will be avoided by sharing data in the different departments of the health care center. A real-time link can be created for the patients from registration, through consultation, testing and final medication. This can save Wasatch family Clinic from traditional paper work which took most time when searching for medical records of a patient at every stage in the clinic. Time can also be saved when the information of the patient is a system shared by the departments of the clinic health center.
Wasatch Family Clinic will also benefit economically when the data is shared improving service time and hence reducing.

Serial murderer – an introduction
The crime of manslaughter has been known for a long time, to be specifically the early 1600’s but the initial case of a serial murderer was in the year 1888, named, Jack the Ripper, who killed and mutilated five prostitutes in the East London. Field experts have stated that at any time, the United States has around 50 active serial murderers, owing to the fact that arroba the year multiple homicides have occurred. Now the question arises, who is a serial killer?
A person possessing a specific emotional drive to kill mercilessly is termed as a serial murderer. These murders, killings, manslaughters, or homicides are generally done in a different way that distinguishes one serial murderer from another. The killer often has a sign that they are distinguished with. Serial murderers are kept in the page as being mass- slayers. The only difference being that serial murderers do not naturally kill the way mass murderers/ slayers do, i.e. mass slayers don’t leave breaks in committing the merciless murders. On the other hand, serial murderers tend to have a distinct feature that reflects the fact that they are murderers with a psychotic overdrive (Ellens, 2011).

Nearly 25 years ago, one of America’s most infamous serial murderers, Jeffrey Dahmer, a paedophile, and a cannibal, was confronted, attacked and mercilessly slayed while cleaning the bathroom of a prison. His span of crime ranged from June 18, 1978 till July 19, 1991.
Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial murderer and a sex criminal who brutally raped and then killed 17 men and boys between the years 1978 to 1991. Several of those later homicides consisted of preservation of several body parts of the victims, necrophilia and cannibalism. Though he was initially diagnosed with several mental diseases like borderline personality disorder, a psychotic disorder, and schizotypal personality disorder, Dahmer was found to be legitimately stable at his probation.
He was sentenced for fifteen terms of life custody on February 15, 1992 for the fifteen of the sixteen homicides that he had committed in Wisconsin. Later, he was condemned to a sixteenth term of life custody for an additional slaughter in 1978 in Ohio. Dahmer was crushed to death by Christopher Scarver On November 28th, 1994 at the Columbia Correctional Institution (Martens, 2011).

Senior isolation is a social issue that many of our senior citizens face today. It is estimated that 40% of our senior population suffers from senior isolation. Senior isolation in the elderly has been linked to an increase in illnesses, mortality, depression, elder abuse and a higher incidence of the elderly needing long term care services. It is one of the largest risks to our aging senior’s health and well-being. Volunteer work can help combat senior isolation and have a positive impact on a senior’s health. Senior citizens make up 15.2 percent of the total population of the United States according to the 2016 census bureau and it is reported that by 2060 the number of senior citizens will double. Senior volunteer programs that promote involvement can assist in combating isolation and the negative health consequences while keeping our seniors healthy and active within their communities.
Senior Corps is an organization that currently engages roughly 220,000 older adults between the ages of 55 and above within America in service to their communities through its Foster Grandparent, Senior companion and RSVP programs according to Nationalservice.gov. Utilizing the strengths and assets of our seniors today not only keeps our seniors from isolation but also benefits the communities in which they live. The American Red Cross is an organization with immeasurable commitment to provision of compassionate care to people who are in need in America. As such, this is their mission and their budget epitomizes this. The largest chunk of the income that is mainly received from grants from governments and organizations as well as donations from organizations is spent on humanitarian activities. For the year 2018, 91.85% of the $0.5 billion that was raised from the aforementioned sources was used in humanitarian activities. These included helping people who needed care in in disasters in the shortest notice, ensuring and maintaining community health especially by being in the frontline to deliver blood to patients who needed it in our health facilities. The organization recognizes the importance of mitigating disasters before they happen and therefore set aside $1,659,000 that was used to keep teams ready to stop a disaster before it happened or minimize injury or loss of life as much as possible. This is in line with the organizations principle of being proactive rather than react to disasters when they happen.
The American Red Cross has a total 12,534 permanent employees spread all over the nation to offer humanitarian help whenever and wherever it is needed (Hutchinson, 2018). These are selfless individuals who are always risking their lives to save others’. The organization therefore aims at giving the employees the best working conditions given the circumstances and making sure that they stay safe as much as possible while delivering help. As such, American Red Cross buys the best equipment and vehicles to help the employees as well as volunteers in humanitarian work to get to sites of disasters in the shortest time possible and safely. This is why the company has invested in top notch ambulances that have lifesaving equipment that may be used by the employees to save lives in an occurrence of a disaster.
As indicated above, funds that are used by the organization to finance its operations as well as management are received from state and federal government, and international organizations as grants or from the public as donations. Often times, the funders wish to know how the funds that they give out the cause of saving human lives through humanitarian assistance is used (Schnupp & Möller 2018). The organization therefore posts its official budget on its official website where it can be accessed by all people. In the last 5 years, the donations have been on the rise and this is a good indicator that the people who fund the organizations are happy about how the money they give to it is being used.

For this final assignment a research of self-injurious behavior has been conducted. Self-injurious behavior, also known as SIB, is described an instance of behavior that results in physical injury to a person’s own body. SIB includes head banging, using objects to cut or puncture self, pinching self, consuming inedible substances, vomiting, pulling own hair, sucking, biting, scratching body parts and use of drugs, among others (Yang, 2003). SIB, is usually displayed by individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. SIB can result in serious injuries and in severe cases even death. According to Yang (2003), the treatment of SIB has become one of the most serious issues for clinicians and other professionals due to the injury, risk, prevalence, and cost involved.

The first article discussed is "Combination of extinction and protective measures in the treatment of severely self-injurious behavior" by Lizen Yang from Behavioral interventions journal. Yang explores and discusses the advantages of using extinction in conjunction with the non-intrusive protective measures to treat SIB. In the study, extinction in combination with non-intrusive protective measures was selected as the intervention strategy to reduce SIB.
Subjects and setting
The study was conducted on two adolescent females with profound mental retardation and physical disabilities at a state facility. Both subjects exhibited self-injurious behavior (SIB) and had been wearing restrains mechanisms for more than two years to prevent injuries. The treatment sessions were conducted in the morning for one of the subjects and in the afternoon for the other subject in a multipurpose 12’ x 13’room in their residential building. The room contained a table, a desk, and three chairs. Fingernail clippers, a pair of scissors, and a bottle of white petroleum jelly were used, since the target behavior for both subjects was scratching. There was a radio playing soft music at a moderate volume during sessions. There also were several audio and visual activity materials available and placed on the table within the participants’ reach at all times during treatment. During sessions, only the therapist and the participant were in the room.
Design and results
Event recording was used to collect data during each 30 minute treatment session. Two hand held counters were used to record the target behavior. In order to constantly analyze data, and monitor the behavior, as well as avoiding possible medical concerns, each treatment session was divided into three 10 minute intervals. Initially a within-subject reversal design was in which baseline (A) and treatment (B) were alternated in an ABAB sequence, but due to frequent and severe self-injuries and for safety reas.

Introduction
The trusted computing base contains hardware, firmware and software that are essential in establishing as well as maintaining security. Moreover, it also includes an operating system with all specific system hardware, in-built security control, software and network hardware, (Ranganathan, 2017). When designing a trusted computing base provision such as access control, giving privileges, user authentication support, authorization of particular processes or systems, backing up information and protection against viruses and malware. It is the responsibility of a trusted computing base to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of information. It monitors the input and output operations.
History
In December 1985, the United States Department of Defense put out the trusted computing system evaluating criteria that well-defined TCB. TCB can be understood when it performs as a centralized, trusted entity, (Scott-Nash, et al., 2016). The structures that get the uppermost level security accredited and certification have a centralized system design. The TCSEC accepted the view of peer trusted nodes describing them as members of the NTCB which protects the network system including the firmware, software and hardware. This combination is responsible for enforcing a security policy.
How is the model implemented?
TCB contains four security mechanisms, including authentication and identification, auditing, labelling and security policy. In order to understand how TCB is implemented and work. Let’s take the example of a bank—one of the most trusted icons in society today. When we make deposits, the money is recorded and safeguarded. It will be available when we want it back. We hardly consider the security mechanism in the back since we trust the banking system. All the mechanisms of TCB are in place. Before withdrawing money from the account, one is required to identify and authenticate themselves to the teller with the account number and signature. There is also discretionary access control that is who is authorized to withdraw money from the account. There are very few clerical problems since all the transactions that take place are audited. In development, the environment has to enforce the security model. Other concepts that are used when developing TCB include memory protection and handle, (Noorman, et al., 2019). This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.

Budget Justification
Senior Personnel
The senior personnel in this research include a single primary
investigator and two co-primary investigators.
Prof. Amanda Dorothy is a Senior Professor at the Alama
Medical School. She is a decorated psychiatrist and a renowned
researcher of Mental Health issues. She will serve as the PI at a
summer salary for one and a half months at $10,000
Dr. Hillary Hughes is an Associate Professor and he is willing
to assist in the project as co-PI with a request of two and a half
months of summer salary of $8,000.
Dr. Doreen Mucahu is also an Associate Professor and she is
willing to work as the second Co-PI with a request of a one and
a half months for $7,000
Other Personnel
Mr. Robert Rowling’s is a full-time research data analyst and he
is willing to devote half of his working hours to this research at
the fee ($12,000).
Three graduate students have been requested to assist in the
research at a fee of $5,000 each. The students will assist in
collecting data from the various entry point and administration
of questionnaires.
Fringe Benefits
This is a convenience fee to be paid to those who commit to
working with the researchers (Dawson, 2019). The fringe
benefits were calculated at 20% of the salaries offered for the
investigators and the data analyst. The graduates will not
receive this part of the benefit, as they are not listed in the
School policy.
Equipment
There is a need for acquisition of the analysis machine that will
be used exclusively in this research project. The manufacturer
has quoted $9,000 for the full package.
4. Travel
The primary investigators and the co-PIs will travel to a
conference on methods of diagnosis and treatment of
Alzheimer’s at an estimated cost of $1,500. For the local
logistics of the investigators and the graduate students, we will
require $1,700 for automobile mileage.
Subcontracts
It is important to have an external data specialist to help in the
research (Lawes et.al. 2018). Specialized data analysis services
and the connection of the final report for compilation will be
provided by Dr. Annacitacia Johnwick and Dr. Maurice Mauhl
of the Amala University at a cost of $2,000.
Printing
An estimated $1,000 will be used to print the tools for data
collection and the journal materials for both reference and the
publication of the 12 pieces of the final report in print as
required by the sponsor.
F&A Costs
The facilities and administrative costs amount to $4,180 based
upon the rate of 22% of the MTDC of $19,000, which is
approved by the Amala University.
Consultation
The chief scientist at the LLC Inc. is willing to interpret
sections of the analysis of the results at his standard rates of
$500 per day for 6 days in addition to a $500 logistical fee, as
he will be working out of his office.
Conclusion
The budget has been designed to use every dollar for output in
terms of getting results of the study. The budget is subject to
change before approval in case of reviews or recommendations
from the sponsors to accommodate items that are vital for the
study (Greenville et.al. 2016).

Alzheimer's Disease Research Expected Results
The care for Alzheimer’s disease varies from patient to patient.
This is because of the difference in the presentation of the
6. cases. In addition, some patients, especially those with milder
forms of the disease visit the medical facility more frequently
than others who have advanced stages and have to be brought to
the facility by their caregivers. The data sheet for this study has
been provided in a separate excel sheet document.
Sample Size
Because of the importance of having a sizable sample size for
validity, researchers sought the advice of statisticians to help in
the sampling process. The determination of the sample size was
by effect size method where, the researchers were required to
have the participants being at least more than the effect size as
in the table below:

of at least 20 patients for the 30 days of the research, which
projects to 600 patients.
Data on Alzheimer's disease patient visits show that the rate and
patterns of health seeking by these patients are varied and each
case has different presentation. Even with the provision of large
amounts of literature about the progression of the disease,
studies have failed to link the approaches to prognosis and as
such have failed to help create a time-relevant model based on
the medical records of patients, an approach that aids in
predicting the future status of the disease (Kielb et.al. 2017).
8. Based on previous research done in this area a larger section of
the patient population (52%) have to depend on family for care.
The data obtained in our study through our data sheet and the
questionnaires show no remarkable link in the phases of the
disease in different patients. The average delivery of service
was done within 22.5 minutes of the visit.
Out of the 3883 patients who visited the healthcare facility, 122
were patients with definitive diagnoses or with important
negatives pointing to Alzheimer’s disease. Of the total 122
patients categorized as having Alzheimer’s disease, 58.2%
presented to the hospital for the first time. In addition, 41.8% of
the total cases presented for the second or third time within the
same month. This shows significant need for healthcare among
these patients.
The doctors on call and the attending nurses filled the
questionnaires and it was determined that care was provided on
need basis. Those patients who presented with advanced
symptoms of mood instability, mental disturbance and physical
violence were handled first; otherwise, all patients were seen on
a come first served first basis. The breakthrough of use of
predictive models in treatment of Alzheimer’s depends on the
amount of research done in this field. The research will provide
a wide variety of information that is necessary in the reliability
of predictive approaches. This approach can be a breakthrough
not only in the management of Alzheimer’s disease but also
many other chronic medical conditions (Hampel et.al. 2016).
This research closely relates to the data by the National
Alzheimer's Coordinating Center. This agency conducted
research using 5432 participants who were patients of
Alzheimer’s disease. The research starting in 2005 August and
ending in 2017, May gave resourceful insights into the whole
issue. It was found that there could be several predictive models
that can be used in the management of Alzheimer’s.
The patient's cognitive functions are altered and their social
interactions are distorted. Some common signs include mild
amnesia at the onset of the disease which develops into severe
9. loss of memory; disintegration form the surrounding and loss of
ability to function normally, apathy, depression, irritability,
mood disturbance, altered sleeping habits, and delusions
(Alzheimer's Association. 2017).
The short-term memory in these patients was found to be
averting after some time. The adopted method used recurrent
neural networks, which are based on the concept of many-to-one
that refers to the barbarization of neural dendrites. The
approach was found to be very reliable with results that indicate
the efficiency of over 97% in the prediction of the state of
patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease. This method can be
said to be superior to the classic baseline approaches
(Hassenstab et.al. 2015).
By the analysis of the approach, we see that the RNN approach
is effective in solving the Alzheimer’s disease prediction. This
is through the measurement of progression by leveraging both
the medical patterns and inherent temporal patterns of the
Alzheimer’s patients based on their past visits (Hampel et.al.
2016).
Our study was faced with several problems such as getting the
proper diagnosis for the walk in patients and the complex nature
of use of questionnaires in gathering information from different
people.
This research finds that the use of predictive model in the
management of Alzheimer’s disease gives a more effective
management and a positive prognosis; hence, the alternate
hypothesis for this research is true.
Recommendations
Based on this research, the researchers recommend that
Alzheimer’s patients be managed by the predictive model right
from an early stage of the disease to ensure the best outcomes.
Because of Alzheimer's disease, patients may become non-
functional and completely dependent on help from friends and
family. This impacts the economy of the country as a whole in
terms of lower productivity and lack of income generation
(Werner et.al. 2016). For these reasons, this research is vital

researches that will help solve the suffering that comes with
Alzheimer’s disease.

This article has used Predictive Modelling of the Progression of
Alzheimer’s Disease with Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to
identify the appropriate time for the patient regarding his/her
next visit for medical checkup. This model has the capability to
collect the various visits of a patient with different time
intervals to predict new medical visit dates with a more even
time interval. The study also discussed that more than 5.4
million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer’s
which cannot be fully treated or reversed with the current
medical and treatment system, however, with effective
prevention technology its prevalence can be controlled. Various
preventive or predictive models has been developed in the past
however, almost all of them had a number of issues which made
them less attractive. The use of this model helped in getting
99% accuracy based on the medical history of the patient
(Wang, Qiu & Yu, 2018). In the study conducted by Wang, Qiu
& Yu (2018) an RNN with LSTM cells-based progression model
was proposed to predict the future stages of the Alzheimer’s
disease. The model is found successful and authors showed their
interest to use this model for the prediction of other chronic
disorders.
Over the last five years, the research in the area of dementia
16. risk prediction and specially for the Alzheimer’s disease got a
boost. Numerous old models have been improved while some
new models were also developed to increase prevention of this
disease by predicting its numerous stages. In 2010, a systematic
review identified that there are more than 50 models developed
for the prediction of dementia and these models exhibited a
difference in terms of risk score calculation, model accuracy
level, follow up time, and disease outcome. This study
identified a novel and effective linear model which is invented
to predict the disease status in a future perspective. To check
the effectiveness of their model, the authors used available data
on Alzheimer’s disease. This study also addressed the issue of
data missing through matrix factorization (Nie et al., 2017).
This study has analyzed various articles in order to find that
whether there is any model that could perfectly make the
prediction regarding dementia. By analyzing various articles,
this article contributed in this field by providing information
about various studies and models that has been used for the
prediction of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Although, there
are various models developed by many researchers, however,
still there is no such model about which it can be said that it is
a perfect model for dementia/Alzheimer’s risk prediction among
people due to the absence of risk score validation researches.
There is a need to have lots of work to improve the existing
models as well as to develop new models considering the
weaknesses of existing models (Tang et al., 2015).
This study has investigated the relationship between
Alzheimer’s disease and aging. Researchers has found a strong
connection between aging population and Alzheimer’s disease
and it is assumed that innovation could help in the partial
resolution of the aging related societal problems. This study has
contributed in this field by identifying a biomedical model of
Alzheimer’s disease to reduce the social-culture aspects of the
aging and Alzheimer’s disease. This model proposed a cure to
Alzheimer’s disease; however, this model was abandoned due to
the emergence of care models in 1990s and onward. The
17. majority of models were discovered to make an early diagnostic
of Alzheimer’s disease, however, due to the lack of any proper
treatment the early diagnostics of this disease were remained
useless as no cure was offered. The only way with which the
early diagnostic or predictive technologies could help in the
treatment of Alzheimer’s disease is that these early diagnostic
models should eb a part of Alzheimer’s disease management in
its early stages. This study ahs also discussed various aspects of
human life as well as the use of technologies such as MRI, CT
scan and chemical testing to predict the early diagnosis of
Alzheimer’s disease, however, still there is a need for
developing new models due to flaws in existing models
(Cuijpers & van Lente, 2015). Alzheimer’s disease is
accountable for 70% of the dementia cases across the world
therefore, the therapeutic paradigm of this disease has been
moved to secondary prevention. Various social implications and
ethical concerns has been identified in preclinical predictive
approaches, therefore, there is a need of a proper predictive
modeling is required to address the challenges brought be
prevention approaches. The majority of predictive models have
raised some social implications and ethical concerns that the
majority of the studies on this matter has overlooked. The
predictive models like Statistical algorithms method or the
methods of source data such as imaging data, family data,
genetic data, cerebrospinal fluid examination, neurocognitive
assessment, electronic/medical health record, demographics and
family history have raised some sort of ethical and social
concerns (Angehrn et al., 2019). This study has investigated the
direction of the therapeutic paradigm with respect to
Alzheimer’s disease. It is also concluded by the study that there
is a need to identify predictive models that could predict the
occurrence of this disease years before. This is the first study in
this field which has paid attention to the social and ethical
concerns raised by the technological development for the
prediction of Alzheimer’s disease.
The study of Tang et al. (2015) investigated 1,234 articles to
18. investigate the new developments in risk prediction of dementia
and Alzheimer’s disease and concluded that new developments
like non-APOE genes testing, incorporation of diet, application
of non-traditional risk factor of dementia, ethnicity and physical
function, and inclusion of some development in subgroups with
diabetic individuals and those with different educational levels.
However, after making an investigation of various studies, it is
concluded that there is no single study that could be used for
the prediction of dementia. Moreover, it seems impossible to
have a predictive model that fits all. There is a high need to
make researches for the development of existing predictive
models as well as for developing new models, however, it is
important to consider various predictive models (Tang et al.,
2015).
According to the study of Haas et al. (2016) many predictive
models for Alzheimer’s disease have failed due to the absence
of reliable models. This is because the majority of models are
computerized and there is a need for a more humanized kind of
models that best suits the clinical situation. The biggest need is
to make sure that data is shared among all the healthcare
organizations because it allows researchers to address the
various scientific questions in different predictive models. The
availability of data will also enable the researchers to access
both real life data and clinical trials data to innovate a more
accurate and ethically sound predictive model. The diagnosis
and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease is very difficult because
of its different symptoms in different patients. The study of
Haas et al. (2016) contributed in this field by identifying the
various weaknesses of the existing predictive models. The
presence of an effective predictive model could change the
entire direction of the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The
article has identified few real-world examples of such
predictive models which contributed effectively in various CNS
(central nervous system) diseases. Also, it is suggested that for
the development of a predictive model, government and private
organizations should make a partnership. Moreover, the
19. progression of this disease from preclinical, mild and severe is
different among different individuals. Instead on investigating
appropriate predictive models, there is a need to invest in the
training of physicians to make them ready and competent
enough to manage Alzheimer’s disease at various stages. The
improvement in the understanding level of the physicians could
improve the overall cycle of treatment and management of the
Alzheimer’s disease (Margolis, 2017). This study has identified
a more realistic side of the Alzheimer’s disease that instead of
developing a new predictive model, it is better to invest in the
training of physicians and medical staff to deal with different
types of patients at different stages of Alzheimer’s.
Due to the lack of discovery of the pathogeneses of Alzheimer’s
disease there is no proper cure available for it to date. Since it
is widely believing that pathogenic changes began to occur
years before therefore, it is important to have an accurate and
effective predictive model to accurately screen, diagnose and
prevent this disorder. Unfortunately, due to the polygenic nature
of Alzheimer’s disease, it has not been possible to effectively
predict the level of Alzheimer’s disease (Nazarian & Kulminski,
2018). This study has stressed on the importance of discovering
the biological process involved in Alzheimer’s disease because
the Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis in not fully discovered
due to which not predictive model is working effectively. Once
the pathological changes are fully discovered, it would become
possible to develop an effective and standard predictive model
to treat Alzheimer’s disease.

The average human lifespan is increasing along with the world
population, which poses new challenges to today’s treatment
delivery methods. The health sector is capable of collecting
massive amounts of data and look for best strategies to use the
numbers. With the use of predictive modeling, the health sector
has the potential to reduce costs of treatment, predict outbreaks
of epidemics, avoid preventable diseases and improve the
quality of life.
Advances in predictive modeling as a preventive technology in
the health sector should be designed to help clinically integrated
networks manage large, complex patient populations. One of
the challenges facing providers today is that predictive
modeling requires a strong data infrastructure, user engagement,
staffing and other resources.
Preventive technology could help make diagnoses more accurate
and treatment regimens more precise, reduce labor costs,
capture data faster, sort through vast amounts of data to gain
insights needed to drive better care decisions and outcomes.
With the use of predictive modeling and preventive technology,
from a patient-facing perspective, they could improve health
literacy. These instruments combined with patient-contributed
data could also help predict and fill patients’ clinical knowledge
gaps. In that way, patients could more confidently manage their
own health and make healthier choices on their own.
For example, the use of the fit bit arm/wrist band could be
extended into an integrated system that could collect patients’
health data continuously and send this data to the cloud which
will allow doctors to monitor and compare this data and react
every time if the results will be disturbing. If a patient’s blood
pressure increases alarmingly, the system will send an alert to
the doctor who will then take action to reach the patient and
administer measures to lower the pressure.

treatment plan for patients with diagnosis of Alzheimer’s
disease?
Alzheimer’s disease is one mental problem that mostly affects
the elderly population. This disease is characterized by a
progressive memory loss leading to impaired cognitive
functions. The condition is usually chronic hence affect the
patient for a long time. Patients with, therefore, disease have a
reduced quality of life coupled with continuous treatments. Use
of predictive modeling technology in the management of this
patient can play a significant role in creating a successful
treatment plan for the condition. Predictive modeling
technology has several benefits for both the patient and the
provider of healthcare.
Predictive analysis or modeling in healthcare improves the
accuracy of diagnosis. For patients with Alzheimer's disease,
using the predictive modeling technology help the primary care
physicians to make an accurate diagnosis of the bug regarding
the staging and presence of other comorbid condition such as
dementia. To achieve this, the clinicians use the predictive
algorithm provided by this model to assess for the stage of the
disease and the presence of other conditions (Wang, Kung, &
Byrd, 2018). As a result, the patient is usually screened using
this model before being discharged home to promote patient
safety and quality of life.
Predictive modeling technology play a significant role in
preventive disease medicine and public health. In this case, this
analytic technology helps care providers to prevent diseases and
their complications from advancing by identifying populations
at risk (Ritchie et al., 2015). Alzheimer’s disease patients are at
risk of developing other mental condition such as dementia or
promoting to the severely chronic stage that will acutely reduce
the health status and life of patients. Therefore, primary care
physicians use this model to screen the Alzheimer’s disease
patients under their care for possible complications or
deterioration. Knowledge gained about the disease using this

precautions such as lifestyle changes that promote disease
recovery. The model, thus, transforms the care of Alzheimer’s
disease from curative to preventive since prevention is better
than cure (Wang, Kung, & Byrd, 2018).
Predictive modeling technology in mental health provides
physicians and psychiatrists with information on how to provide
care for the individual patient. For a patient with Alzheimer's
disease that was diagnosed with the algorithm as per this model,
the exact treatment methods required are also identified. This is
different from the usual plan of care that is drawn from standard
symptoms and treatment. The patient will be given specific
drugs to meet their health needs. Also due to predictive analysis
on the type of effective medications, the hospital can use this
information to purchase only the required drugs from the
pharmaceutical stores to prevent wastage and shortages of
medicines (Bhagwat et al., 2018). Therefore, medication for
Alzheimer's disease will be readily available for use.
Predictive modeling in healthcare also has a direct impact on
patients with Alzheimer's disease. The use of the algorithm in
diagnosis and prescription of treatment results in patients
getting the drugs that are only effective or active against their
condition. Use of specific medications to treat this condition
increases patient knowledge on how to promote the
effectiveness of these medications (Bhagwat et al., 2018).
Patients will be aware of potential complications and learn how
to prevent such from occurring. This is, in turn, support
evidence-based practice where patient-centered care is
practiced. As a result, quality and safe care is practice hence
promoting better health outcomes for the patients.
The significance of the study
The purpose of healthcare predictive modeling is to help doctors
make data-driven decisions within seconds to improve a
patients’ treatment. By using data-driven findings to predict
and solve a problem before it is too late, also assess methods
and treatments faster, keep better track of inventory, involve
24. patients more in their own health and give them the tools to do
so.
This is very useful with patients who have a complex medical
history and suffering from multiple conditions. This tool would
be able to predict, for example, who is at risk of diabetes, and
thereby be advised to make use of additional screenings or
weight management. For year’s gathering huge amounts of data
for medical use was costly and time-consuming. With
technology improving on a daily basis, it is easier to not only
collect such data but also to convert it into a useable form to
provide better care.
Healthcare providers had no direct incentive to share patient
information with one another, which made it harder to utilize
the power of predictive modeling and preventive technology.
Now that more of the health sector are getting paid based on
patient outcomes, they have a financial incentive to share data
that can be used to improve the lives of patients while cutting
costs for insurance companies. Healthcare needs to catch up
with other industries that have moved from the standard
regression-based methods to a more future oriented like
predictive model, to improve patient outcomes while reducing
spending.
