1 To respond effectively and reactive and proactive ways to general
   and occupational needs of the working population, their families,
   and work setting in its catchment area through multidisciplinary
   teamwork by providing effective services.

Objective:
   To identify strategies, policy directions and main actions for protecting and
   promoting the health of workers in the context of people-centred care
Suggested questions:
• What is the role and the functions of primary-care centre regarding the health of
   workers and under which conditions this role can be expanded?
• How to strengthen the collaboration between occupational health and primary care
   providers, services, centres and what capacities, skills, and support is needed for
   this?
• What support is needed to empower workers, work communities, enterprises to
   take care of their health and what is the role of primary care centres and
   occupational health services in providing such support?
• What actions should be undertaken to move to people-centred care regarding
   workers' health at the local, national and international level, including research to
   fill knowledge gaps?

•   1 What is the role and the functions of primary-care centre regarding the health of
    workers and under which conditions this role can be expanded?
•   `
    - GP knows worker and family
    - GP accessible for every worker (and the family)
    - Recognition of occupational related diseases, injuries
    and accidents
    - Roles: prevention, health promotion, reintegration
    - Conditions: education, training, collaboration,
    research, supportive tools
    - Development end implementation of guidelines

•   2 How to strengthen the collaboration between occupational health and primary
    care providers, services, centres and what capacities, skills, and support is
    needed for this?

• - Identify and involve stakeholders
• - Enhance collaboration through training
• - GPs and OPs should know each other and patients should know
  their doctors, -
• - Doctors (GP/OP) should work for the same population
• - Focus on reintegration
• - Removal of administrative and financial barriers
• - Need for global research on collaboration/ implementation
• - Joint committees for OC and PC.

•   3 What support is needed to empower workers, work communities, enterprises to
    take care of their health and what is the role of primary care centres and
    occupational health services in providing such support?

• - Worker needs to know: what does it mean to me
• - Motivate workers to change behavior by education
• - Use different techniques to empower (internet, modern media -
  facebook)
• - Involve workers and representatives like unions, NGO’s etc, to
  empower workers
• - Consider individual and cultural context.
• - Provide knowledge and help with legal issues.
• - Ensure access to occupational health care
• - Research on the effect of empowerment tools

-    Implementation and enforcement

-    Community based participatory research and action research,
     development of tools
-    Needs assessment for local situation, culture sensitive,
     considering diversity/ vulnerable groups (gender, age, disability)
-    Global initiative to increase the number of training center for
     occupational health service providers.
-    Research
-    Coordinate across ministries, countries, continents

PARALLEL WORKING SESSIONS ROUND TABLE 2: PEOPLE-CENTRED CARE Objective: To identify strategies, policy directions and main actions for protecting and promoting the health of workers in the context of people-centred care Suggested questions: • What is the role and the functions of primary-care centre regarding the health of workers and under which conditions this role can be expanded? • How to strengthen the collaboration between occupational health and primary care providers, services, centres and what capacities, skills, and support is needed for this? • What support is needed to empower workers, work communities, enterprises to take care of their health and what is the role of primary care centres and occupational health services in providing such support? • What actions should be undertaken to move to people-centred care regarding workers' health at the local, national and international level, including research to fill knowledge gaps? 2
