• APAC Paving – 5 Years 1973 - 1978– Houston Texas – APAC Paving (Warren
Brothers) was a subsidiary of Ashland Oil Inc . The Houston district engaged in
Asphalt and Concrete paving as well as excavation, base, utilities, and median
barrier work. We had 4 permanent and 1 mobile asphalt batch plants.
I started with the company as a Junior Cost engineer and worked through several
positions to achieve the role as Project Controls Manager/Division Controller. Our
team provided monthly cost analysis and cost tracking for all highway and paving
jobs along with cost analysis on the asphalt production costs for the asphalt
plants. The Houston Division had approximately 30 projects ongoing at any time
and we were expected to provide highly reliable analysis on Labor costs,
productivity, material costs and yields, and equipment usage. Houston had
approximately 350 pieces of asphalt and paving equipment that were company
assets/resources
