 Brief Experience.
 Before coming to Australia in 2008 my last two years in Britain was contracted out by Lloyds Register to
CNR (Canadian Natural Resources) and Shell Expro/Amec to their offshore/onshore oil & gas
installations as the OIE (Offshore/Onshore Integrity Engineer). I served on numerous offshore oil and gas
platforms on the North Sea. Before that last 2 years, I worked on the international market world wide in
constructional welding, castings, forgings and inspection integrity onshore/offshore on petrochemical
sites over a period of 16 years inclusive of offshore pipe line installation (Jlay & lazy S), offshore risers,
offshore satellites and onshore petro/chemical plants. My roles as the OIE (Offshore Inspection Engineer)
was to oversee and control not limited to but not only reliability engineering and condition monitoring, all
the fabrication welding and the inspectional integrity of the plants pressure equipment and pressure
piping systems where most of my work was carried out in constructional welding to AWS D1.1. Since my
arrival in Australia apart from and as well as inspection, I work to AS/NZS1200 & 1210, AS/NZS 3994,
AS1554: Pt’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Writing PQR’s (Procedure Qualification Reports) and WQT’s also
carrying out WQT, (Welder Qualification Tests) and working as a welding supervisor alongside of my
NDT qualifications. I am also experienced in reading radiographic films, taking macro samples, HT
samples (Hardness testing) and interpretation, weld face bends and root bend testing according to the
appropriate standards and specification examined to.
 My knowledge and experience is gained from consistent education and experience within the field of in
service welding and welding supervision general NDT Inspection / coordination and a direct dedication to
hands on approach to my profession. I am also a very keen mentor of new students and to direct entry
level candidates to my profession. Part of the examination process to gain my NDT qualifications in PCN
was to study welding processes, welding defects, causes and basic metallurgy.
