In every crash and fatality statistic, 18-25 year old drivers are
greatly overrepresented: they are 2-3 times more likely to be
involved in a fatal car accident than more experienced drivers.
Young drivers’ high crash rates primarily result from immaturity,
lack of experience, impairment, and lifestyles associated with
their age and their gender.
REALITY
Road Vikings is a new app for young drivers that promotes good
and safe driving in a rewarding and engaging way.
Road Vikings employs gamification techniques and rewards to
turn the mobile phone, the most distracting item on the road,
into a lifesaver.

How it works
1. DRIVE
Road Vikings app is used daily by young
drivers to monitor how good they drive.
2. EARN VPP’S
Drivers achieve goals and collect Viking
Plunder Points (VPP)for good driving:
respecting speed limits, not calling while
driving and gentle driving.
3. EXCHANGE VPP’S
Drivers can exchange VPPs for
different rewards and discounts, for
example Mobile Vikings Points (to
pay phone bills), insurance discount,
cheaper gas, free coffee, etc.

Young drivers’ high crash rates primarily result from immaturity, lack of experience, impairment, and lifestyles associated with their age and their gender. REALITY
  • 3. Road Vikings is a new app for young drivers that promotes good and safe driving in a rewarding and engaging way. Road Vikings employs gamification techniques and rewards to turn the mobile phone, the most distracting item on the road, into a lifesaver. WHAT IT IS

  • 7. REWARDS How it works 1. DRIVE Road Vikings app is used daily by young drivers to monitor how good they drive. 2. EARN VPP’S Drivers achieve goals and collect Viking Plunder Points (VPP)for good driving: respecting speed limits, not calling while driving and gentle driving. 3. EXCHANGE VPP’S Drivers can exchange VPPs for different rewards and discounts, for example Mobile Vikings Points (to pay phone bills), insurance discount, cheaper gas, free coffee, etc.
