We need to make sure that
everything is out the way
and clear space for our
cooking things so it doesn’t
get mixed up with

If having an audience
watching you could
sometimes be off putting
when trying to concentrate
which could cause mistakes
of ingredients or even
spillages which causes falls.
We need to make sure that
we try to have the least
people in the kitchen at a
time to avoid this happening.
Electricity/gas
When using electricity or
gas it is a risk in itself if you
don’t concentrate, things
could catch on fire etc, you
could leave the gas on the
cooker on which is very
dangerous and could cause
fires
We need to make sure that
we turn everything on and
off at the right time and need
to ensure that things aren’t
left in the cause of a fire. By
keeping a fire blanket in the
kitchen this will help to put
it out if it happens.
Long hours
Long hours can cause people
to get tired and worn out
and this can cause people to
not think properly and do
things wrong which could
cause dangerous accidents,
By keeping to your schedule
plan you will know when to
stop working and when you
may need to take a break so
accidents don’t happen.
Machinery When using any machinery
you need to make sure your
careful because accidents
could occur such as if your
ovens already been turned
on for a while and you don’t
realise when you put your
hand into the oven thinking
Before you start anything
you need to go round and
make sure that you check all
the machinery your using to
make sure its not faulty or
on when its not meant to be.

Noise Noise is always a distraction
with anything but when
working with food and
machinery noise could be a
problem because It doesn’t
help your concentration.
Also noise could involve the
radio been on or music
which is a big distraction.
You need to make sure that
any noise distractions aren’t
going to cause any problems
in your work so it is a good
idea to go round a check
anything that makes a noise.
Public/Crowds If having a crowd watching

In our recipe cards project all the health and safety legislations that I have spoke
about I will need to consider when doing my project because every single one
applies to what I’m doing.
