1. RFID FREQUENCIES – CLEARLY & SIMPLE EXPLAINED
 LOW FREQUENCY (LF: 125 / 134,2 kHz) is a robust technology with a reading range
up to 30 cm. The transmission rates are low and are used especially in animal
identification. This frequency is also well suited for harsh industrial environments
where metal substrates and moisture are common.
 HIGH FREQUENCY (HF: 13,56 MHz) is the default frequency for personal
identification in this context e.g. ePassport, Contactless Payment, Access Controls,
Ticketing Solutions or in application ares like libaries. This frequency has a reading
range up to 30 cm.
 ULTRA HIGH FREQUENCY (UHF: 860 MHz – 960 MHz) is particularly suitable for
long-range solutions where high reading ranges of up to 15 meters are required by
the users. This frequency is often associated with keywords such as Industry 4.0 and
