Maintenance Planner
Nucor Yamato Steel
Blytheville, AR
February 1995-February 2007
This position was to assist maintenance with planned equipment repairs and parts. I also
bid fabrication packages to shops for upgrades and installations. With upgrades the
responsibility of updating storeroom stock for parts and materials for repairs was a huge
cost requirement. Software usage to create preventative maintenance jobs with the part
numbers or blueprint information was a large scope to this position. Shutdown planning
was a key item and I would purchase an stage refurbished spares and materials and also
oversee or supervise the personnel for the installation. Routine requirements for tools,
contractor personnel, vendor communication, purchasing, accounts payable and
documentation made this a very busy job.
Nucor Construction Clerk
February 1991-February 1995
Construction for the Hickman sheet mill is where I started for Nucor. I was a key
stakeholder in laying the groundwork for all office equipment, layouts and personnel.
I kept records on the vendor and contractor contracts. I ordered the grout and concrete
for the jobsite. With the records I also approved and coded all the invoices. Blueprint
packages were done by USPS not email. I loved the fast pace and commitment to the end
result and being a part of the team. This job gave the groundwork for all of my future
jobs.
