PROFILE
Cycling is a passion. I have been involved with cycling since 1986 in many aspects of the industry - from racing
and event production, to retail, and ultimately into the manufacturing side. In each role I’ve assumed, I started at
the bottom of the organization, developed my skills, learned as much as possible in each role and steadily climbed
the ladder. I seek a new opportunity where I can apply my comprehensive breadth and depth of experience and
drive for success, as well as allow me to continue to develop and grow my abilities and contribute as a valuable

Consulting Services
Industry Consultant – Self-employed (September 2015 – present)
Provided management guidance to several retail operations to facilitate long term growth and better
operational procedures
Worked with several manufacturing start-ups to develop product lines and establish operational guidelines
Worked with a new retailer on developing a new service focused operation including planning,
forecasting, and start-up management

Manufacturing Services
Global Warranty Manager – Advanced Sports International (ASI) (May 2011 – August 2015)
Created and assumed the role to manage overall assessment of ASI’s global warranty/QC/QA needs
Oversee the implementation and development of policies and processes to turn QC feedback into
workable solutions focusing on both ends of the supply chain
Developed a global system of QC matter reporting and tracking
Procure and manage U.S. warranty replacement inventory including specifications, SKU creation,
forecasting, and establishing re-order points
Developed the “blue-print” for the development and implementation of a Global Warranty warehouse in
Asia to fulfill global warranty needs
Work within ASI to develop short-term solutions including design of new parts and new techniques, and
the creation of Technical Bulletins to alert and train our dealers on problems and the developed solutions
Work with the vendors to explain the issues as seen in the field, develop solutions with them, and
negotiate re-imbursement for replacements and overall expenses related to these issues
Work with the various stake holders within ASI to explain problems as they arise and explain the
solutions
Work with the Product Management Team to explain the issues and help them to use this information to
adjust future specifications for better durability or compatibility
Maintain a running total of expenses related to warranty to understand ASI’s costs as related to overall
sales
2. Technical Services Manager – ASI (January 2010 – May 2012)
Created the Technical Services Department as a tool to help properly diagnose, solve product issues, as
well as develop and implement solutions
Direct warranty operations to analyze, track, and order parts
Compile feedback from dealers, sales representatives, and consumers and report to product development
team for to enhance future offerings
Developed and implemented Quality Control/Quality Assurance process to provide more efficient
interaction with vendors and suppliers
Manage and direct staff of 2-5 bicycle mechanics
Kestrel Bicycles Product Manager – ASI (May 2011 – November 2011)
Developed the component specifications for model year 2013 Kestrel product line based on industry
trends, sales goals, and feedback from key dealers, sales force, and consumers
Assisted in creation of new bicycle platforms for future production

Retail Services
I began working in a bicycle shops in 1987. I started at the bottom sweeping floors and changing tubes, working
my way up through the various positions to the point where I became proficient in all aspects of managing a shop
and service department.
Operations & Store Manager/Head Mechanic – Open Road Bicycles (August 1995 – January 2010)
Responsibilities included: repair, assembly, and sales of a variety of bicycles, specializing in professional
road and high-end mountain bicycles
Oversaw inventory management, including but not limited to, procurement, forecasting, analysis of total
cost, return on investment and negotiating purchase order terms with suppliers
Developed merchandising and marketing strategies
Oversaw staff of seven employees
Under my direct supervision and direction, the store added two franchises
Managed over $400k in direct inventory and another $400k in indirect inventory for outlying stores
Store voted to Michelob Ultra’s “America’s Best Bike Shops” list, a consumer driven survey (2007)
Store voted to Bicycle Retailer & Industry News’ “Top 100 Retailers” list (2009)
Team Services
Acted as Coach, Manager, Assistant Manager, Mechanic, and/or Director Sportif for several cycling teams.
Mechanic for several International teams including: Team Shaklee, United States National Cycling Team,
Formaggi-Pinzolo (Italy), and Aqua e’ Sapone (Italy)
Technical Director, Assistant Manager, and Mechanic for the Aerospace Engineering-Toshiba cycling
team (2007-2008)
Duties included:
o Coordination of schedules for staff of five and fifteen riders
o Daily maintenance of team equipment
o Relations with race promoters and technical suppliers
o Day-to-day operations as needed for individual events
3. Event Services
I have produced or help produce over 100 events, races, and charity rides. These experiences have helped to
develop my management, interpersonal skills, and supervisory abilities.
Events include those sanctioned by USA Cycling and Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)
Roles include:
o Technical Staff for g4 Productions
o Technical Director for Swagger (producers of over twenty-five events through out the U.S.)
Served as liaison between the production companies I represented and international teams, International
Commissars (UCI officials), Civic Officials
Involved in the production of events from a technical aspect, laying out Expo and hospitality areas, as
well as course development and technical descriptions
