Analysis
From looking at the responses which I got on my survey I am able to adjust my edit to suit my audience letting them see what
they want and make sure that everything which is happening on screen makes sense.
Q1. 5 out of 7 people think that the storyline makes sense and from the 2 people who thought it didn’t makes sense they’re
comments were that their was no explanation as to why she was in the darkroom and developing her images, this is
something that I will correct with the library scene which goes before this. The library scene wasn’t in my rough cut as it
hasn’t been filmed yet and I wanted to start with the hard scene to film.
Q3. From the responses everyone though that the rough cut had a nice editing style I wanted to get these opinions before I
finished my final edit and had the chance that people didn’t like it. People commented on how rough the edit was yet were
understanding in that fact that this is a rough cut and not the final edit.
Q4. Everyone thought that the depth of field used was effective but could have used a little bit more work.
Q5. the most common answers as to what genre the short film was Thriller with 4 responses and Drama with 3 this is the
exact response I wanted as this was the two genres which I wanted to fit the short film in.
Q6. in terms of what should be changed people thought that the speed of this sequence was little long and should be used as
a montage and that most shots could be used to get more of a depth of field throughout the sequence. This is something that
I can go back and do and used my close up shots of the actor developing her images and the process which she is going
through.
Q7. in terms of effectiveness the average answer out of 100 was 70 this is a good response as this is still the rough cut and
much more needs to be added to the short film and taking on board the feedback which I have received I feel that I can get
the average response up into the 90’s
