Respect Essay Topics
Writing an essay on the topic of "Respect Essay Topics" can prove to be quite challenging. The
difficulty lies not in the scarcity of information or lack of perspectives on respect, but rather in
the vastness and depth of the subject. Respect is a multifaceted concept that spans various
aspects of human interaction, culture, society, and personal values. Crafting an essay on this
topic requires a nuanced understanding of respect in different contexts, including interpersonal
relationships, professional environments, cultural diversity, and self-respect.
To tackle this subject effectively, one must delve into the philosophical, psychological, and
sociological dimensions of respect. Analyzing its roots in moral and ethical frameworks,
exploring its impact on social harmony, and addressing the challenges in practicing respect in
diverse settings are just a few aspects that need careful consideration. Moreover, weaving
together a coherent narrative that transitions seamlessly between these diverse facets of respect
demands a high level of skill in argumentation and organization.
The complexity of the topic also lies in the need to balance theoretical discussions with practical
examples. A well-rounded essay on respect should not only articulate theoretical concepts but
also provide real-world instances that illustrate the significance of respect in fostering positive
relationships and maintaining social order. This requires thorough research and a discerning eye
for selecting examples that resonate with readers.

Identity In Comedy Of Errors And The Brothers
Identity is also another major theme in The Comedy of Errors and The Brothers
Menaechmus. While the plays are obviously about misidentification, even before
the actual misidentification occurs do we see discussions on the nature of identity.
In this play, it is seen that identity is determined, in part, by one s relationship with
other people. The loss of the family comes a loss of identity because of the
importance of familial relationships. With the loss of his wife, Egeon loses his
identity as a husband; with the loss of his twin, Antipholus S. loses his identity as a
brother. They no longer have these relationship to determine their identities. In fact,
the split between Egeon s past and present states can be seen in the states of his sons,

Menaechmus II, who is analogous to Antipholus of Syracuse, searches for his
brother in order to restore his family while Menaechmus I seeks to escape these
bonds. At the end of the play, both of those desires are realized with Menaechmus I
outright rejecting his responsibilities auctioning off his slaves and goods, his farm
and city house, his everything in order to start a new life with his brother. In the
end, everyone gets what they want: Menaechmus of Syracuse has found his
brother, Menaechmus of Epidamnus has escaped his world of obligations, and
Messenio is freed in this festive celebration that represents the festival world of
comedy itself (Maurice 57). However, while both sets of twins in each of the plays
get their happy endings, these happy endings come about for different reasons. In
Errors, the play ends happily because the world returns to order and sense because
of the restoration of the family and of the family identity. In The Brothers
Menaechmus, the happy ending comes about due to the fulfillment of individual
desires. Menaechmus I s primary motivation to leave with his brother is not a sense
of family responsibility, but his desire to leave his old life and be free of his current
responsibilities. There is no return to order. If anything, Menaechmus I leaving with
his brother causes further disruptions to the social order by inverting the Roman

Student Education and Assessment
Lesson Plan Social Studies Topic: Transportation Description In this lesson, a Pre k
class with inclusion of special education was expected to discuss and identify
different types of transportation. The teacher started by telling the children how she
got to school every morning. The teacher got practical by showing the children a
pretend steering wheel as a motivation. Then the children were then asked to name
some of the ways through which they got to school and around the neighborhood.
The children s responses were written on chart paper as a brainstorming activity. They
also placed their name card on the graph of how they got to school. The teacher and
the class then counted how many types of transportation they could identify. After
that activity, the teacher read aloud the text How Will We Get to the Beach? By
Brigette Luciani Eve Tharlet. The children were then asked to make predictions about
what the mom and baby in the text would do next and to identify details of the story.
Assessment The teacher here used anecdotal from the students to assess if they
understood different types of transportations. They were also required to write a
response to the text that was read out in class and here special consideration was
given to exceptional students. In this case, the teacher interpreted exceptional student
s responses as meaningful information that served as a basis for recommendations
considering other information that determine their special needs. In

William Bratton s Tipping Point Leadership
The article in www.governing.com discusses the nomination of William J. Bratton,
as public official of the year 2007. It goes to summarize why he was nominated by
describing some of his accomplishments to date in this 2007 article. Mr. Bratton has
had a natural sense of leadership and bravery ever since his younger days as a Police
Officer. In 1975, just when he was a rookie sergeant with the Police Department in
Boston, he responded to a call that would make even the most seasoned officer
nervous, bank holdup; shots fired; possible hostage situation. When William
Bratton, arrived at the scene, he came face to face with the bank robbery himself, a

Bratton has made a name for himself within his 43 years in law enforcement, like
being credited for the end of war on crime. Once appointed and in office, Bratton
will have a tough job ahead of him although he is not new to any of those hurdles.
In recent times, the Stop and Frisk law is a main issue that Bill Bratton will have
to address, since in the summer of 2013 a federal judge ruled that the NYPD
sometimes carried out its stops unconstitutionally by unfairly targeting minorities .
Bratton has then stated that he does support the stop and frisk but only when it
does appropriately. Di Blasio anticipates to use Bratton for his tough leadership
skills and expertise on bringing police and community back together. The Los
Angeles Times declared when Bratton left after seven years on the job. Its work is

A Research Report On Distributed Information Systems...
Introduction This paper presents a research report on Distributed Information
Systems Development (DISD), the challenges in the process, the solutions and the
best methos . The aim of this research is to summarise theory considering what are
the complications in operating DISD projects, what are the most appropriate
techniques affected these complications, and how current patterns help these
techniques. Distributed Software Development (DSD) or Global Software
Development (GSD) is a phenomenon with significant interest from companies
worldwide where the stakeholders from different organizational cultures are engaged
in developing software. Within the globalization efforts currently pervading society,
the team members of the software project have become globally distributed.
Although, the DSD is technologically and organizationally complicated it provides a
number of issues to be operated by the information system development group. [1]
The distributed environments have become a standard for software development so
the coordinating of development teams has become one of the biggest issues faced by
the companies today. It is difficult to imagine any substantial development project
managed without an underlying software configuration management tool. Teams
located at different geographical areas, including offshore, cooperate each other using
communication technologies to develop interconnected software modules that are
integrated in shared project workspaces. The

more body dissatisfaction than those men that are not exposed or not exposed as

After the informed consent form is obtained by the researcher, participants will
receive three images of either men who are representative of the general
population or three images of men who are not representative of the general
population (e.g., bodybuilders, models, actors). The participants will then be
asked to answer a questionnaire that assesses questions about their desire to be
muscular and body satisfaction in general. The frequency of their desire to look a
certain way will be on a 1 5 scale corresponding whether they agree or disagree
about wanting to be lean and muscular. A response of one will be strongly disagree
, a response of two will be disagree , a response of three will be don t know , a
response of four will be agree and a response of five will be strongly agree .
Participants will be answering the Drive for Muscularity Attitudes Questionnaire
(DMAQ, 2004), which was developed to measure the drive for muscularity, which is
defined as the desire, typically found in males, to achieve a mesomorphic body. The
DMAQ has demonstrated validity and reliability. The authors generated 41 items to
assess individuals attitudes toward muscularity. The item generation process was
informed by a review of the available literature on male body image and inspection of
the kinds of attitude statements. An

Company s budgetary control system and explain how the problems are likely to
reduce the effectiveness of the system.
Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company has appointed Robert Ferguson, Jr., the son
of the president as the plant manager. He directed the company s focus on budgetary

seeking cost reductions. However, the results extracted from the conversation of Tom

This could significantly damage the reputation of the company as well as make it lose
trust from loyal customers.
To sum up, the budgetary control system had its advantage of knowing in advance
what was happening in each department. While instead of improvement, budgetary
control system adopted in Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company had made the
whole working process more worsened.
2.Explain how Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company s budgetary control system
could be revised to improve its effectiveness.
Budgetary control system is an essential management tool that communicates
management s plans throughout the organization, allocates resources, and
coordinates activities. Besides, unwise system can have the negative effects on the
performance of the company. Thus, it is vital to develop a compatible budgeting
system which can assist managers in fulfilling long term goals and strategic plans.
First, drawn from the situation of Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company, it is
pointed out that feasible targets play the first priority in designing the budgeting
system. If the goal is too high as in the case of Ferguson Son Manufacturing
Company, then, in the following steps, the whole process automatically gets into
trouble. The company should be realistic when setting any benchmark among the
periods of manufacturing. The conditions of equipment, employees, orders, sales, and
the coordination among other departments should be taken into account to jump to
the most suitable
Schindler s List Is 1993 Oscar Nominated Movie Directed...
Schindler s List is 1993 Oscar nominated movie directed by Steven Spielberg. This
movie is based on the 1982 biographical novel published by the Australian author
Thomas Keneally. It is an R rated movie with a 185 minutes running time. The main
character of the movie, Oskar Schindler is played by Liam Neeson. The movie
portrays the story of the German businessman who tried to preserve the lives of some
Jewish refuges during the holocaust.
In times past, the Jews have been victims of ethnic prosecutions. The Jewish history
has been stained with such prosecutions right from the Bible times up to World War
II and even beyond. The most horrific and gruesome of such persecutions was
witnessed during the World War II.
Schindler s List depicts the true story of Oskar Schindler during the holocaust. Oskar
was a German industrialist and businessman who was also a strong member of Nazi
party. As a businessman, Schindler showered Nazi officers with bribes and lavish
gifts in order to overcome bureaucracies during wartime Germany. With time he
became very wealthy during the peak of the world war.
In the mist of the persecution of the Jews, Schindler was moved with compassion to
intervene. He later convenience the Nazi party to build and enamel ware factor
which will help fuel the war. He used his political connections to employ Jews who
would have otherwise been sent to concentration camps and would subsequently end
up in gas chambers.
Schindler s list clearly shows how deprave
Comparison Of Anxiety And Benzodiazepines
When there is a choice to either take a benzodiazepine or a barbiturate for anxiety,
which is the agent of choice? If properly used, both medications can relieve anxiety,
however, both are also very addictive. Tolerance increases with continued, and
repeated usage. (Lin, 2016).
Benzodiazepines
Benzodiazepines are the most widely used medications for anxiety. Their onset is
rapid, within 30 60 minutes. Benzodiazepines slow down the nervous system,
(Benzodiezepines, n.d.), which cause the body to relax, sedate and produce a sense of
euphoria. (Arcas, 2016). The duration of action varies with the different drugs. Some
of the most common benzodiazepines are prescription drugs such as ValiumВ®,
XanaxВ®, HalcionВ®, AtivanВ®, and KlonopinВ®
Barbiturates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are tranquilizers, but have a higher therapeutic index than Barbiturates. Benzo s
have an effect on the mind, they are habit forming and can alter the thinking process.
Benzodiazepines are associated with amnesia, irritability, and vivid or disturbing
dreams.
Contrast
Both Benzodiazepines and Barbiturates are sedatives. They both exert action at the
GABA receptor complex. (Olsen RW, Yang J, King RG, Dilber A, Stauber GB,
Ransom RW, 1986). The sad thing is that they can both be habit forming and very
addicting. They alter the thinking process and decrease the activity of the brain if
used improperly. Both have side effects. Benzodiazepines may cause dizziness,
slurring of speech, confusion, headaches, blurry vision and make it difficult to
concentrate. Barbiturates, however, cause agitation, irritability, aggression, hostility
and impulsiveness.
Conclusion
For most of these drugs, a prescription is necessary, but because of the high addiction
rate, most of these drugs can be obtained illegally on the streets. Benzo s produce a
quicker and stronger effect and therefore be more dangerous. However, in the
medical field, the drug of choice would be a benzodiazepines. Most doctors prefer it
because of the quicker and stronger effect it has on the
Essay on Opium (Papaver somniferum)
Opium (Papaver somniferum)
The opium poppy has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries all over the
world. The opium poppy plant belongs to the Papaveraceae family. The scientific
name of the opium poppy is Papaver somniferum L., and it is native to Turkey. The
plant has lobed leaves, milky sap and four to six petaled flowers with several
stamens surrounding the ovary. The two sepals drop off when the petals unfold.
The ovary then develops into a short, many seeded capsule that opens in dry
weather. The small seeds of the opium poppy plant are dispersed by wind. The plant

There are manufactured alkaloid derivatives that include dihydromorphine,
dihydrocodeine and heroin. The alkaloids can be of two different types. One type
acts on the nervous system and are addictive to the human body. The other form is
not addicting and instead relax muscle groups.
Papaver Somniferum has been used since Greek times to relieve suffering and
euphoria. Records indicate that the opium poppy has been used since the time of
Mesopotamia (5000 to 4000 BC). The records refer to the poppy and its use as
opiates as medical tablets. Homer s writings indicate Greek usage of the substance at
least by 90OBC: Hippocrates made extensive use of medicinal herbs including opium
(see Britannica Online).
It is believed that the Romans probably learned of opium in the Mediterranean.
Opium spread to places all over the world. In China opium was reported as a problem
during the seventeenth century. Between World War I and H the cultivation of opium
grew in Central America in the mountains. Now the major producers and exporters of
opium are Turkey and India (Britannica Online).
Opium was definitely used in more recent times as well. Before the nineteenth
century there were few painkillers available. There were few alternatives to using
opiates to end suffering for dying people. Long ago opium was not considered
harmful and was available to everyone. Doctors advised taking opiates to relieve a

Spanish Influence On South American Culture
When the Spanish settlers first stepped foot in Southern America, they saw a vacant
and natural landscape intended for the gradual spread of Christianity and European
culture. They also came face to face with the Mapuche peoples who established a
long lasting resistance against their European settlers. For example, in Chile, when
the Spanish attempted to establish a string of fortified towns southward, they met
with the resistance of the Mapuche people. They repeatedly annihilated the
settlements of the Spanish empire because they threatened the very existence of the
Mapuche colony. 1 Eventually, however, Spanish officials were forced into a treaty
that recognized the Mapuche societies. In these treaties, the Spanish crown insisted
on subordination... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this movement came new interests in territorial expansion, changes in image,
and the shift of power dynamics that focused on Eurocentrializing the nation. In
order to fabric these new modernized nations, the elites of the nations realized they
needed to eliminate any internal obstacles that would halt the nation s progress
towards modernization. Therefore, it was necessary to eliminate the indigenous
populations in order to attract European immigration and capital. And this is the
framework that the South American nations used to justify the execution of the
indigenous people from collective memory. In Chile, some Araucanians fought for
the insurgents, but most who took up arms and they fought along side of the
Spanish to keep their livelihood. 275 However such a resistance only enforced the
use of violent tactics on the Mapuche communities. And such violent tactics were
justified by the belief that the Mapuche people were doom to disappear: naturally
or by force. However, As a result, the elites argued that theses massacres were also
naturally occurring processes. It was natural because the indigenous groups, such
as the Mapuche were incapable to adapt to civilized life and progress so they were
doomed to disappear. This type of ideology would lead to dire consequences for the
Mapuche tribes, as even today, these people not only fight against the repression
Cynthia Ozick s The Shawl
Flint fire starters, weapons, food supplies, and many other physical objects are
some tools necessary for survival. But some of the most crucial tools needed to
survive are psychological. Cynthia Ozick s The Shawl depicts the struggle of
surviving through adversities. The story follows the unfavorable journey of Rosa,
her infant daughter Magda, and a young girl named Stella at a Nazi concentration
camp. Rosa believes that a shawl gives her hope for Magda s survival during the
horror of what the Holocaust brought. Ozick emphasizes that Magda s shawl
represents life and survival, while Rosa is determined to protect her innocent
daughter. Some of the most important keys to survival are holding on to hope and
making the right decisions during... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Ozick wrote, Magda s mouth was spilling a long vicious rope of clamor
(248) and grieving the loss of her shawl (248), it was evident that the shawl was
important to Magda. In order for Magda to survive, Rosa has to make a quick
decision. Rosa thinks that it is useless to go after Magda first as her howling would
not stop because she will still not have the shawl (248) and she was confident her
daughter would not survive. But if she goes after the shawl first, Magda would put
the shawl in her mouth and turn dumb again (248), which in her mind was a more
reasonable path to take. Little did she know she will be too late. Rosa s lack of
trust that she might be able to calm Magda for a while without the shawl, caused
her Magda life. Once again Rosa could have possibly given Magda her best chance
of surviving by going after her daughter first but she chose a different
Robin Hood Beliefs
Robin Hood was a man who loved life and sought adventure in every aspect of his
life. Although, he has a made some mistakes he typically tried to do good. He
loved people, especially women and children. I would not consider him a true
follower of a Christ, but rather a man who does good works. In Titus 3:5 it says,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He
saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. (New
King James Version, Tit. 3.5) This verse is basically saying that you cannot get to
heaven through good works. Gods grace and mercy is what allows us to get into
heaven, but we have to make that choice.
The goal in life is to not just go to heaven, but to have ... Show more content on

Robin was not very good at this, as we can see all the situations it got him in. A
quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough. ( Bruce Lee ) Robin s anger
caused him to kill two people! When one gets angry it can affect more than just
you. It is not wrong to be angry, but it is wrong to act upon our anger. In Ephesians
4:26 it says, Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath.
(Ephesians 4.26)This verse is a reminder to not act upon our anger, but also not to
hold onto it because it ends up hurting us more by holding onto it.
The final lesson I have learned from Robin Hood is to do things the right way.
Often times the right way ends up being the harder way, but it is always more
rewarding. One of the main reasons Robin had so many enemies is because the
things he did were against the law and unjust to certain people. In James 4:17 it
says, Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
(James 4.17)This verse is saying that if one knows the right thing to do, but does not
do it, it is a sin. Doing the right thing can be very hard. If one remains faithful, God
will bless

I am here today to prove to you that Lazarus Stewart and Matthew Smith are not
guilty of the murder of Conestoga Indians. While both men agree that they did kill
the Conestogas, what they did is justified by the aggressive behavior shown by the
Indians.
I will now present evidence to prove this conclusion. My first piece of evidence is
from a speech made by Little Abraham, a Mohawk sachem, to colonial Pennsylvania
officials and Indian Leaders:
You [...] made Plantations there and spoiled their hunting grounds, they [French

The Influence Of Media And Pop Culture On Young Girls
In today s society media and pop culture are heavy influences on girls of all ages.
Everywhere we look there is something claiming to make us happier, look better, and
telling us how we can improve our lifestyles. Young girls to young adults are drawn
to these advertisements. Studies say that girls from the age of thirteen to nineteen are
most vulnerable to the persuasion of the advertisements put out by companies
claiming to help them live a better and more defined life. Magazines such as
Seventeenmagazinetarget young girls using celebrities, visual techniques, and many
other techniques to draw their attention. To be in Style
One technique used by Seventeen is the use of bright colors to drawn in attention.
They use bold, busy colors and fonts contrasted on clean, crisp backgrounds to catch
the young eyes of girls who connect these contrasts with an upbeat style. They use
bold, feminine, sophisticated type fonts to grab the eyes of women. Their headlines
stick out, making themselves the center of attention.
Most of these headlines are fashion centered. They use fashion to appeal to girls
find the best clothes makeup and hairstyles. They make it feel personal by
claiming to know what will work for you and your body type, face shape, and skin
tone. They sell their secrets on how to look great every day. They dress they re
models in clothes that reflect the theme of the magazine. This appeals to the women s
desire to be in style.
Idolization
Another technique they use and one of the most commonly used by Seventeen is
the use of celebrities. Teens often look at celebrities as superhumans. They find
celebrities to look up to. They idolize them, want to be like them. Magazines use
this to their advantage. They plaster the faces of some of the most influential stars
to their front pages claiming to help teens become just like their idol. They make
sure to cover all social platforms from actresses to singer, models, and socialites.
Seventeen has used people such as Sarah Hyland, Maddie Ziegler, Zendaya and
Carrie Underwood. They use these people as marketing tools. These people are seen
in the public eye as credible sources especially by the girls who look up to them.
They try to appeal to the fact

The disease came from Hong Kong at the first time in 1997, the H5N1 strain of
avian influenza virus was first documented, when it caused severe respiratory
problems in 18 humans, of whom six died. Characteristics of the pathogen of avian
influenza are from the water birds such as wild ducks and the viruses are carried
inside the birds intestines and are distributed into the environment via bird faeces
(poo). Migratory birds infected with the virus could potentially spread the bird flu
to any of the countries they visit. The avian influenza virus can more frequently kill
domesticated birds, such as chickens and turkeys. Besides, humans who have close
contact with sick birds are at risk of infection with bird flu. For example a person
may handle a sick bird, contaminate their hands with chicken faeces, and forget to
wash their hands before eating. They will then ingest the infected bird faeces. This is
the most common way for a human
Positive Classroom Management
A. The teacher classroom manages the classroom in an extremely positive manner,
and is strong on positive reinforcements. When she speaks to her students, her voice
is soft and calm which allows her students to remain calm to correct their behavior.
Students are aware of the classroom expectations and the proper behavior when they
are working with other students. When the class is transitoning between activities
she is clear with what they are expected to do, and how it should look like. When
the whole class is not able to complete the task she does ask them to correct the
behavior and allows them a second opportunity to successfully transition. Positive

Essay about Cults and Their Leaders
Cults and Their Leaders
For many years, cult leaders always had a psychological hold on their followers
minds. Whether it was to kill other people or to kill themselves, they did it without
question. Some cult leaders used fear, violence and guilt as a means of a weapon to
control the minds of their followers. Other cult leaders used persuasive and spiritual
speeches that made their followers believe they were doing good and fulfilling God s
plan. Because cult leaders are powerful through psychological offenses, the people
that belong to their cults are brainwashed into doing things they wouldn t normally do
in their right state of mind.
For years, there have been problems surrounding the definition of the term cult . ...

The Merriam Webster online dictionary defines cult as: a religion regarded as
unorthodox or spurious; also: its body of adherents. Indeed, any religion involving
unconditional worship and unquestioning obedience to God could be labeled as a
cult (using the derogatory suggestion of the word), since such a religion would
have that high level of dependency, obedience, and unwavering compliance ascribed
to cults by definition. Many mainstream religions still require their members to
believe in God unquestioningly, to have faith that he is good and that what he does
is good, to consider one s own wants and needs as unimportant while accepting the
will of God as paramount. All of these are certainly characteristics commonly
attributed to cults, but while it would not be unreasonable to apply this definition of
a cult to any dogmatic religion that requires strict compliance with God s word and
will as a condition of membership, the notion of applying the word cult to
Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or any other major world religion today is considered
absurd. There are those who make this very claim: that those who worship God fit the
classic depiction of cult members in their dogmatism, unswerving
7 Deadly Sins In Hamlet Research Paper
In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, there are many of the seven deadly
sins used to show feeling, however the most prominent of the seven would
definitely be wrath. Of course all of the seven deadly sins were used in the play,
and many were very prevalent and reasonable. The sin that stood out to me the most
however, was wrath. The play started off with an envious sin being committed but
from there that sin quickly disappeared. Lust was also prevalent in a few scenes but
quickly faded; whereas wrath quickly and constantly increased each scene and once
it started I didn t see it fade out like the others.
Act 1, scene 5 of Hamlet, lines 43 92 consist of the ghost of Hamlet s father talking
about how his own death went about. He claimed that Claudius, Hamet s uncle, saw
his father napping outside in the courtyard and decided to put poison in his ear. His
father quickly awoke and began choking, thus resulting in him lying there dead only
moments later. Claudius committed this tragic sin because he felt envious over what
his brother had the title of king, a beautiful wife, and wealth. That envy quickly built
into wrath and that s when Claudius decided to take it all for himself. Hamlet s father

I Believe In Happiness And Happiness
I believe in laughing and smiling. I believe in the laugh that makes your stomach
hurt, the laugh that makes you cry and the laugh that makes you roll on the

Last year I was given the opportunity to volunteer at a local Special Olympics event,
with a group of my friends, we each worked at different events. At one event I
worked at I had to handout water bottles to the runners after they finished their
race. As each runner came to the end of the race they all had smiles on their faces.
However, there was one contestant that came in last place and started to cry as he
crossed the finish line. I went up to him to hand him a water bottle and said, You
ran like the wind today. he replied sobbing, I m not going to qualify for States with
this time. I saw that he was upset with his results so I said, Cheer up, you still have
three more events to qualify. With those words I handed him my large blueberry

he was very happy. I felt great and figured even though he was upset he lost the
race a smile had changed his day. I believe it is true that a good laugh and a smile

Australia Cash Rate
Determining the cash rate by the Reserve Bank of Australia establishes a number of
different factors for the Australian economy. The RBA is responsible for controlling
monetary policy and ensuring that Australia s financial system is stable. In light of
recent events that have impacted economic growth, the RBA has maintained a 2.0%
cash rate, which affects the overnight rate for loans to commercial banks.
Previously held at 2.25%, a decrease by 25 basis points brought down the cash rate
to 2.0%, an all time low in the past decade. The RBA held an expansionary stance to
promote investment and spending in the local economy in order to drive growth. It is
recommended that the RBA maintain the current cash rate of 2.0% in light of

In particular, a cause for concern is the housing bubble , which has caused house
prices to significantly increase. Property investment increased by 9% over the
year to last quarter, where Sydney s housing price has increased by 16.2% over the
past year, and 10.2% in Melbourne (CoreLogic RP Data). With increasing prices,
affordability worsens, where an inevitable rate hike by the Reserve Bank of
Australia will cause a price correction in the near future (Powell, 2015). However
rising prices don t normally present a problem where wages are also increasing. In
comparison, real wages only grew by meagre 2% in the past year. Thus consumers
have less money to spend, while also most of it is going towards repayments on
home loans (Spasic, 2015). With inflation levels relatively low, there would be no
reason to increase the cash rate, as growth rates are fairly low, as well as causing
the housing bubble to pop due to a disruption of a variety of factors. One of these
factors include, consumers who won t borrow as much, due to the cost of borrowing
increasing and thus a drop in demand, and therefore affecting real GDP due to the
drop in real estate value. In contrast, a reduction in the cash rate will further increase
housing prices and therefore accelerate the effects of the housing bubble which will
inevitably result in a correction
Avian Aspergillosis
Avian Aspergillosis
The subfamily Aspergillus has a wide range of fungi which can cause Avian
Aspergillosis. Aspergillus Fumigatus is the most commonly diagnosed species of the
fungus, others include flavus and niger. Aspergillus Fumigatus tends to thrive in
moist and warm environments. Endotoxins are released through the dispersal of
microscopic spores, which usually become airborne. This enables the disease to travel
from one location to another and then proceed to grow, which creates areas that are
more highly populated compared to others. In small minorities the fungus is less likely
to have adverse consequences. Some factors concerning the environment that can
increase the chances of a bird inhaling spores are poor ventilation and sanitation, ...

Acute Avian Aspergillus can create a loss of appetite and can cause severe
difficulty when breathing. This can be seen by the bird showing signs of
accelerated breathing, gasping and voice changes. An infected bird might also have
abnormal excretion, a strong thirst with excessive urination or show signs of
emaciation and central nervous system damage. This severe damage will be evident
in an obvious lack of muscular coordination and mobility; the bird might also hold
its head at an unnatural angles. Central nervous system damage will only occur if
the fungal infection reaches the brain. The most common signs of Avian
Aspergillosis are drooped wings and rapid opening and closing of the bird s bill. The
fungus usually affects the respiratory region including the trachea, lungs and syrinx;
the infection can however spread to the kidneys, brain, skin, and muscles. Since
Aspergillus can be fatal, a lot of birds are diagnosed post mortem. The signs from an
autopsy can include brain tissue death or meningoencephalitis; white nodules can also
be evident. These small growths are evidently what cause erosion through the tissue,

We can understand why she became this well known person if she did not have
support or a normal childhood. There are seven major perspectives that can help us
understand someone s life and their outcomes. I personally believe that with
Marilyn Monroe s life, Psychodynamic Perspective is a way someone can
understand how things went. It explains how the roles of someone s life
experiences, like childhood, can affect the rest of their life. As I said before, she
did not have a typical childhood. She had a rough life before the age of 16. Not
having a steady home to grow up in could make it hard on a person, especially a
child. Those are the years we develop most as humans, and create a foundation on
how our lives may become. With her life, it could cause a sense of misplacement
or even change her views of affection. This could alter the way someone views
affection and what they think is normal compared to others. In Monroe s life, she
was abandoned from any reality or normalcy in her life. She did not get that
affection and that is an important part of life. She then had three marriages that did
not last that long, and that shows that even when she did try to have a normal life
and find that true love, it just did not work well for her. This could be one of many
reasons why she turned to alcoholism or
Christian Philosophy Versus Christian Worldview
Introduction
Human perspective differs and leads to diverse worldviews. Several factors
contribute to the creation of worldviews; the environment, experiences and most
importantly the education that a human is exposed to. The question is often asked if
there is such a thing as a write or wrong worldview, since it can consist of religious
beliefs, political connections, and subjective opinions on life, love, family and
friendship. These worldviews create philosophical questions regarding how society
truly functions and different human beliefs. As educators it is critical that we nurture
the Christian mind in order to fulfill the Christian worldview. It is also absolutely
essential that the education system and learning objectives put ... Show more content

This allows Christian believers to reflect on what many contend is the background
for the faith; that all humans are made in the image of God. It allows for educators
to extend biblical teaching outside of the areas that are not explicitly defined in the
Bible. Furthermore it incorporates faith into learning and impacts society and the
way we live. This philosophy emphasizes the importance of having a sound Biblical
philosophy when it pertains to of education. Christian educators are learning that the
curriculum must be Bible integrated in theory and practice. By this the Bible is to
provide more than theoretical guidance and generalization. It is to be a vital part of
the content of the curriculum and integrated with all subject matter. Christian

Christian Worldview is defined as the framework of ideas and beliefs through which a
Christian individual, group or culture interprets the world and interacts with it.
Different denominations of Christianity have varying worldviews. There are varieties
of particulars within the Christian worldview, and disputes of the meaning of
concepts in a Christian worldview, but certain thematic elements are common in the
Christian worldview (Ennis, Patricia A., et al). The world view is by no means all

Analysis Of The Book Sensory Design

Malnar, Joy Monice and Frank Vodvarka. Sensory Design. Minneapolis: University
of Minnesota Press, 2004.
The book, Sensory Design published by Joy Monice Malnar and Frank Vodvarka
in 2004, explores a new multi sensory method of design for architects in 335 pages.
The opening of the book starts with a question What if we designed for all senses?
Very similar to articles from Pallasmaa, the book leaves the reader wanting to know
more about this method although this book covered many topics and included many
references. Malnar is an associate professor at the University of Illinois, and
Vodvarka is an artist who wrote many articles on architectural history.
The book consists of twelve chapters that propose this idea that designers should
explore the nature of our senses response to the spatial built forms that people invest
their time in. It tries to cover a specific topic in each chapter that in order to
deconstruct the book, it is necessary to cover each chapter individually.
The opening chapter describes a sense of place through few examples. A place is
perceived through our sensory responses and cognitive memory which makes that
space unique and special as a type.
The second chapter overlooks a series of art movements such as De Stijl, Bauhaus,
Enlightenment, CIAM, and the work of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. This
chapter attempts to find their position on senses and the cultural memory. The authors
Betty Friedan s The Feminist Analysis
In 1963, Betty Friedan, a feminist activist, wrote a book called The Feminine
Mystique, which she criticized the ideal image of a woman s role in society is to
become a mother, wife, and housewife. She said, When she [woman] stopped
conforming to the conventional picture of femininity she finally began to enjoy being
a woman(Friedan 465). Here, Friedan is saying society plays an immense role in
telling how women should behave in accordance with their assigned genderroles and
biological sexes. For instance, women should take up the caregiver role in a family
because they show more feelings and sympathy. Yet, this gender construction impedes
them to form their identities, seek satisfaction and freedom in lives. Once these

According to chapter seven of Patricia Mayer Spacks s The Female Imagination: A
Literary and Psychological Investigation of Women s Writing, she claims marriage
leaves no space for women (79). Here, Spacks is suggesting personal space is
essentially significant as personal freedom. Consider if a woman does not feel she
has enough space in a relationship, that means her granted freedom is restricted too
because personal space is created when the other half is willing to give you liberty
to do what you want without questioning. Clearly, Louise is not given that space
and freedom in her marriage. For example, she describes her husband s powerful
will bending hers (Chopin 525). Although Louise does not mention whether her
husband has abused her, the description that she gives about him indicates she lives
a life of imprisonment. In other words, she sees the house she is living as a prison
in which liberty, happiness, and personal space are unreachable. By making this
comparison and providing this source of information about Mr. Mallard, Chopin has
effectively allowed readers to understand Louise s attitudes and opinions toward her
husband. Moreover, she has successfully appealed to the female readers pathos
because they will feel sympathetic and angry toward Louise s situation as Chopin s
choice of using the word bending shows Louise undergoes

In 1897, Bram Stoker wrote Dracula, the story of a monstrous Transylvanian count
who terrorized local villages and fed on the peasants who lived in them. The book is
today widely recognized as a historically significant literary work, and its importance
has caused many scholars to debate whether Bram Stoker s main character Dracula
was actually inspired by real historical figures. Although all evidence used in the
debate is somewhat unreliable, it can be established that Bram Stoker based his
character Count Draculaon historical figures to a certain extent. Many scholars

Sexual Rhetors In Response To The Tweeden Scandal
In 2006, Leeann Tweeden was a performer alongside Al Franken on a U.S.O tour

Tweeden, Franken also forced himself on her while they were rehearsing. Tweeden

Firstly, for rhetoric to be established, there must be something to which rhetors

so that the response envisioned by the rhetor can occur. The sexual misconduct of Al

I also filled the graduated cyliner with 5.0mL of water, and placed the same bolt
under water, and the volume increased to 6.0mL of water, which is a 1.0mL water
displacement equaling the same (1.0mL). It is also significant to tare the scale to
zero when obtaining the weight of certain objects. For instance, I had to tare the
scale after I put a beaker half full of water on the scale; by doing this it keeps the
weight at 0.0g, then I submerge the object to retrieve the volume. Exact
measurements are essential. One must be aware of the upward curve of liquids in
the graduated cylinder, and always measure the low point (bottom) of the meniscus.
It would be of good practice to measure at eye level, thus insuring a more accurate
and precise measurement. In addition, I had to make sure that I used the pipet as
opposed to just pouring from a beaker or flask. This also guarantee a more accurate
reading, accuracy and precision is vital in measuring.
During my experiment I ve learned a fairly great deal about temperatures, and how
to convert Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. In my observation I have learned that
water boils at 100 degree Celsius, and freezes at 0 degree Celsius.
In the event of my experiment, I have learned a lot about volume, mass, and density.
Learned a great deal about temperature and lab tools also. I ve learned how to

The Islam And The Muslim Community
The Islam faith grew stronger and united during the lifetime of the Prophet
Mohammed. Soon after his death, differences regarding leadership of the Muslim
community instigated conflict. By the year 650 AD, the Islamic community had
divided into two main branches, the Shia and the Sunnis. Similar beliefs and practices
among both sects have allowed for their members to co exist for centuries. However,
differences in theology, law, and religious organizations have caused drastic conflict
and competition among the two, dividing and tearing communities apart.
With approximately eighty five percent, Sunnis are the majority of the Muslim
population. They see their branch of Islam as traditionalist and orthodox. The Qur an

Shia accounts only to fifteen percent of the Muslim population with its vast
majority residing in Iran and Iraq. They claim that the Prophet Mohammed had
appointed Ali as a successor to lead the Muslim community after his death. He was
appointed caliph in 656 but lost control of the Islamic world, he was murdered
soon after that. Ali s sons Hassan and Hussein tried to recuperate their legitimate
right to leadership but were not successful, and they were also murdered. Shia or
party of Ali believe that Ali and his descendants should be the leaders of the Islamic
faith. Shia Muslims believe that there were divinely inspired figures called imams.
Shias often worship the Imams as saints, an imam speaks with the authority of God .
In contrast, Sunni Muslims see imams as simply humans who lead the prayers of the
community. Shias believe that there will be a messiah, they expect for this figure to
appear on day and lead the world into an era of justice . They often do not trust the
traditional readings and interpretation of the Qur an by Sunnis, given that Ali is not
mentioned as the successor of Mohammed.
In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that despite the differences between the Sunni
and the Shia Muslims, they share the main Islamic beliefs. They venerate the Prophet
Mohammed, above everything else and regardless of their involvement in any
particular group. They read the same Qur an and follow the same Five Pillars of
Islam. Most importantly, they accept each
How Did Buddhism Influence The Civilization Of Korea
I heard that early European explorers in Korea said that the land resembled a sea in
a heavy gale because of the large number of mountain ranges that crisscross the
peninsula. I also heard the highest ones are to the north. The guide says there are
three major mountain ranges here in the south: the Taebaek Mountains, the
Sobaek ranges, and the Jiri Massif all here in Silla. Unlike Japan or the northern
Tang, the Peninsula is said to be volcanically stable. There are no active volcanoes
aside from Baekdu Mountain in Tang. The lowlands here in Silla are the product of
mountain erosion. Approximately 30 percent of the area of the South consists of
lowlands, with the rest consisting of uplands and mountains. The great majority of
the lowland area lies along the coasts, particularly the west coast, and along the
major rivers. It s too bad that I m only here for a limited or I would have been able to

The current king, King Beopheung, has adopted a Buddhist name, Buddhist ideals,
and has came to portray himself as Buddhist kings. Buddhism in Silla has become the
official faith and is strongly protected by the state. The Hwarang corps, an elite corps
of youthful warriors that would play a central role in Silla unification of the
peninsula, have strong connections to Buddhism, particularly the worship of the
Maitreya Buddha. I have seen these troops many a time during my journey. They are
often kind, even to strangers such as I, unless offended, which is true for
Culture In Mexican Culture
Culture has been defined in many ways. Hofstede for an example stated that
culture is defined at a national level and has a set of values and beliefs within the
culture. He also states that people of the Mexican community belong to the
collectivistic group, they also rank high in the power distance, uncertainty
avoidance, and masculinity groups as well. The collectivistic group refers to a
group of people that means that they are committed to their relationships,
regarding their family, extended family, and friends. This is also applied on a
daily basis and in business related conversations as well. Mexican people like to get
to know a person before doing business with you. They love the socialization and
conversation that comes with it. Mexicans also get along with others quite easily,
they are interested in meeting new people. In our country, the roles between a man
and a woman are still very different. When it comes to the working environment,
the majority of the high ranking position is still held mostly by men. As well as in
the household, where women are supposed to have a better chance and taking care
of the children, men are still head of the house. Even though there are women in the
world that are highly educated and hold a high position in the work force, the
journey getting it is not easy. Statistically, it was shown to be easier for women to
hold a position in fields such as education, services, and politics than in other fields.
This is probably because of the

The room starts filling up. Ms. Rogers says: I look forward to continuing our
conversation during lunch, if you would care to join me at my table. But now I need
to start this session. Ms. Rogers walks to the front of the room, welcomes the firm s
newest employees, allows the employees to introduce themselves, and jumps right
into training mode. I want to see how much you learned in college, she says. You will
start by auditing reported revenue at College Business Computers (CBC) for the year
ended December 31, 2008. In our training simulation, CBC is a private company. We
first train you to audit private companies. For these companies, we must comply with
the auditing standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA). In subsequent training sessions, we will focus on public companies that are
regulated by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Here is a
printout of the CBC sales journal. I will now tell you about the client s sales
process. Ms. Rogers pauses as we turn on our laptops to take notes. This is what I
know, she continues. CBC creates a sales order when a customer places an order by
telephone. The sales department forwards one copy of the sales order to the
warehouse and a second copy to the accounts receivable department. When the goods
are shipped to the customer, the warehouse creates a shipping

ROSETTA STONE: PRICING THE 2009 IPO
We are changing the way the world learns languages.
Tom Adams
It was mid April 2009. Tom Adams, president and CEO of Rosetta Stone, Inc. (Rosetta
Stone), the language learning software company, reached for his iPhone to contact
Phil Clough of private equity fund ABS Capital. Adams and Clough had been
discussing plans to take
Rosetta Stone public for some time. The wait was finally over.
In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the market for initial public offerings

With the crisis in full swing, investors had flocked to U.S. Treasuries for security,
pushing down yields on these instruments to historic lows (see Exhibit 4).
Heightened investor risk aversion had expanded the risk premium for all securities.
The general market risk premium was currently estimated at 6.5% or 8.5%,
respectively, depending on whether long term or short term government yields were
used in estimating the risk free rate.
In February and March of 2009, there had been some evidence of improvement in
financial and economic conditions. Wholesale inventories were in decline. New
home sales were beginning to rise. The equity market had experienced a rally of
over 20% in recent weeks. Yet many money managers and analysts worried that
such economic green shoots were only a temporary rally in a longer running bear
market. There was strong concern that the magnitude of government spending
would spur inflation in the U.S. dollar. GDP growth was still negative, corporate
bankruptcy rates and unemployment were at historic highs, and many believed the
economic void was just too big for a quick recovery to be feasible. A Wall Street
Journal survey of U.S. economists suggested that the economy was expected to
generate positive growth in the last half of 2009.1 In contrast, a survey of U.S.
corporate executives stated that less than a third of respondents expected to see an
economic upturn in 2009.2 The
Indi Similarities And Differences And Contrast India And...
Our task for this term is to compare and contrast Australia and an Asian country. This
report will highlight the similarities and differences between my chosen country India
and Australia.
Location And Population
India is located at coordinates of 20.5937В° N, 78.9629В° E and is 3.287 million
kmВІ in landmass. This is fairly small compared to Australia with 7.692 million
kmВІ in landmass. Australia is located at coordinates of 25.2744В° S, 133.7751В°E.
Further more even though Australia is bigger it still has a smaller people per kmВІ
rate. At 3 people per kmВІ this is miniature compared to India with gigantic rate of
382 people kmВІ.there is also huge difference in population as Australia has
21,508,000 and India with a enormous population of 1,326,572,000 the difference
between these populations are 1,305,064,000.
Flags
The flag of a country is always unique and represents the countries values. India s
flag has the colours green, white and orange going horizontal in this order. In the
middle of the white is something called the Ashoka Chakra it is a 24 spoke wheel
that represents the 33 inscriptions on the pillars of Ashoka. As well as boulders and
cave walls the emperor had built. In contrast Australia s flag is also very unique as
it has the Southern Cross and the union jack. The union jack was adopted from
English flag. The union jack is the British flag. The union jack is on the flag because
Australia is still ruled by British Empire. The colours of the Australian flag

Conservative Judaism
When people around the world were worshiping thunder and wind, the Jews had
but one word to say God. Judaism is one of the three major religions in our society
today along with Islam and Christianity. Judaism believes there is only one God
who created and presides over the world. Their God is all powerful, all knowing and
is in all places at all times. He is also compassionate and just. The Jewish religionis
passed on via the mother of a child. If the mother is Jewish, the child is 100%
Jewish. According to Jewish law, one will remain a Jew even if they don t practice

Conservative Judaism sustains the idea in the Torah came from God, but was
interpreted by humans and contains a human element in it. Conservative Judaism
generally accepts the required nature of halakhah, but like Reconstructionist
Judaism believes that the Law should adapt, taking into account the changes in
society while also remaining true to Judaism s values. Orthodox Jews believe that
God gave Moses the whole Torah, the written and oral at Mount Sinai. Modern
Orthodox Jews follow halakhah very precisely, but still attempt to integrate into
modern society. Ultra Orthodox Jews, like Chasidic Jews, strictly observe Jewish
laws and don t attempt to integrate into modern society by dressing traditionally and
living separately. Judaism consists of many holidays where Jews celebrate their
religious devotion. For example, Hanukkah the festival of lights. Jews light
Hanukkah candles to remember the miracle of the oil that burnt for eight days and
the miracle of the Maccabees victory. Its said that after three years of fighting, the
Maccabees succeeded to drive the Greco Syrians out of Judea. The lights remind
the Jews of the miracles and of the struggle for religious freedom. Also, Yom
Kippur (The Day of Atonement) which is the holiest day of the Jewish year. Yom
Kippur is the only fast day decreed in the Bible. The fast last for 25 hours starting

second objective of this volume is to elucidate how this new field, by concentrating

supplies the fundamental association between evolutionary science and the
unpredictable, irreducible social and social phenomena contemplated by
anthropologists, sociologists, economists, and historians.with The Adjusted

  • 2. Identity In Comedy Of Errors And The Brothers Identity is also another major theme in The Comedy of Errors and The Brothers Menaechmus. While the plays are obviously about misidentification, even before the actual misidentification occurs do we see discussions on the nature of identity. In this play, it is seen that identity is determined, in part, by one s relationship with other people. The loss of the family comes a loss of identity because of the importance of familial relationships. With the loss of his wife, Egeon loses his identity as a husband; with the loss of his twin, Antipholus S. loses his identity as a brother. They no longer have these relationship to determine their identities. In fact, the split between Egeon s past and present states can be seen in the states of his sons, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Menaechmus II, who is analogous to Antipholus of Syracuse, searches for his brother in order to restore his family while Menaechmus I seeks to escape these bonds. At the end of the play, both of those desires are realized with Menaechmus I outright rejecting his responsibilities auctioning off his slaves and goods, his farm and city house, his everything in order to start a new life with his brother. In the end, everyone gets what they want: Menaechmus of Syracuse has found his brother, Menaechmus of Epidamnus has escaped his world of obligations, and Messenio is freed in this festive celebration that represents the festival world of comedy itself (Maurice 57). However, while both sets of twins in each of the plays get their happy endings, these happy endings come about for different reasons. In Errors, the play ends happily because the world returns to order and sense because of the restoration of the family and of the family identity. In The Brothers Menaechmus, the happy ending comes about due to the fulfillment of individual desires. Menaechmus I s primary motivation to leave with his brother is not a sense of family responsibility, but his desire to leave his old life and be free of his current responsibilities. There is no return to order. If anything, Menaechmus I leaving with his brother causes further disruptions to the social order by inverting the Roman values of industria, gravitas, and
  • 3. Student Education and Assessment Lesson Plan Social Studies Topic: Transportation Description In this lesson, a Pre k class with inclusion of special education was expected to discuss and identify different types of transportation. The teacher started by telling the children how she got to school every morning. The teacher got practical by showing the children a pretend steering wheel as a motivation. Then the children were then asked to name some of the ways through which they got to school and around the neighborhood. The children s responses were written on chart paper as a brainstorming activity. They also placed their name card on the graph of how they got to school. The teacher and the class then counted how many types of transportation they could identify. After that activity, the teacher read aloud the text How Will We Get to the Beach? By Brigette Luciani Eve Tharlet. The children were then asked to make predictions about what the mom and baby in the text would do next and to identify details of the story. Assessment The teacher here used anecdotal from the students to assess if they understood different types of transportations. They were also required to write a response to the text that was read out in class and here special consideration was given to exceptional students. In this case, the teacher interpreted exceptional student s responses as meaningful information that served as a basis for recommendations considering other information that determine their special needs. Perhaps, more accurately, it is not so much that the circus goes on as that the circus has been revived in the American imagination. According to Robert Bogdan in his socio historical study of the freak showin America, the popularity of the circus had run its course by the 1940s (60), attracting in its waning years a lower class of audience, such as new American immigrants, the rural poor and the urban working class (55). The exhibition of freakshad become morally incorrect. Strangely, at the turn of the twenty first century, America is revealing a renewed fascination with freaks, a fascination that has not been so publicly apparent since the Victorian era when freak exhibits were all the rage, and not just for backward country folk waiting for the travelling circus to roll through town, but for sophisticated big city people who frequented P.T. This time around, it is middle America enjoying the circus on their wide screen televisions in the privileged privacy of their dens and theater rooms. As the vast array of freaks in the

Bratton has then stated that he does support the stop and frisk but only when it does appropriately. The Los Angeles Times declared when Bratton left after seven years on the job. Its work is appreciated by residents across racial lines. The aim of this research is to summarise theory considering what are the complications in operating DISD projects, what are the most appropriate techniques affected these complications, and how current patterns help these techniques. Distributed Software Development (DSD) or Global Software Development (GSD) is a phenomenon with significant interest from companies worldwide where the stakeholders from different organizational cultures are engaged in developing software. Within the globalization efforts currently pervading society, the team members of the software project have become globally distributed. Although, the DSD is technologically and organizationally complicated it provides a number of issues to be operated by the information system development group. Benzodiazepines Benzodiazepines are the most widely used medications for anxiety. Their onset is rapid, within 30 60 minutes. Benzodiazepines slow down the nervous system, (Benzodiezepines, n.d.), which cause the body to relax, sedate and produce a sense of euphoria. (Arcas, 2016). Spanish Influence On South American Culture When the Spanish settlers first stepped foot in Southern America, they saw a vacant and natural landscape intended for the gradual spread of Christianity and European culture. They also came face to face with the Mapuche peoples who established a long lasting resistance against their European settlers. For example, in Chile, when the Spanish attempted to establish a string of fortified towns southward, they met with the resistance of the Mapuche people. They repeatedly annihilated the settlements of the Spanish empire because they threatened the very existence of the Mapuche colony. 1 Eventually, however, Spanish officials were forced into a treaty that recognized the Mapuche societies. With this movement came new interests in territorial expansion, changes in image, and the shift of power dynamics that focused on Eurocentrializing the nation. In order to fabric these new modernized nations, the elites of the nations realized they needed to eliminate any internal obstacles that would halt the nation s progress towards modernization. Therefore, it was necessary to eliminate the indigenous populations in order to attract European immigration and capital. And this is the framework that the South American nations used to justify the execution of the indigenous people from collective memory. In Chile, some Araucanians fought for the insurgents, but most who took up arms and they fought along side of the Spanish to keep their livelihood. 275 However such a resistance only enforced the use of violent tactics on the Mapuche communities. And such violent tactics were justified by the belief that the Mapuche people were doom to disappear: naturally or by force. However, As a result, the elites argued that theses massacres were also naturally occurring processes. It was natural because the indigenous groups, such as the Mapuche were incapable to adapt to civilized life and progress so they were doomed to disappear. This type of ideology would lead to dire consequences for the Mapuche tribes, as even today, these people not only fight against the repression

But some of the most crucial tools needed to survive are psychological. Cynthia Ozick s The Shawl depicts the struggle of surviving through adversities. The story follows the unfavorable journey of Rosa, her infant daughter Magda, and a young girl named Stella at a Nazi concentration camp. Rosa believes that a shawl gives her hope for Magda s survival during the horror of what the Holocaust brought. Rosa thinks that it is useless to go after Magda first as her howling would not stop because she will still not have the shawl (248) and she was confident her daughter would not survive. But if she goes after the shawl first, Magda would put the shawl in her mouth and turn dumb again (248), which in her mind was a more reasonable path to take. Little did she know she will be too late. Rosa s lack of trust that she might be able to calm Magda for a while without the shawl, caused her Magda life. He loved people, especially women and children. I would not consider him a true follower of a Christ, but rather a man who does good works. In Titus 3:5 it says, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. (New King James Version, Tit. 3.5) This verse is basically saying that you cannot get to heaven through good works. Robin was not very good at this, as we can see all the situations it got him in. A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough. ( Bruce Lee ) Robin s anger caused him to kill two people! When one gets angry it can affect more than just you. It is not wrong to be angry, but it is wrong to act upon our anger. In Ephesians 4:26 it says, Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath. (Ephesians 4.26)This verse is a reminder to not act upon our anger, but also not to hold onto it because it ends up hurting us more by holding onto it. The final lesson I have learned from Robin Hood is to do things the right way. Often times the right way ends up being the harder way, but it is always more rewarding. One of the main reasons Robin had so many enemies is because the things he did were against the law and unjust to certain people. In James 4:17 it says, Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4.17)This verse is saying that if one knows the right thing to do, but does not do it, it is a sin. Doing the right thing can be very hard. If one remains faithful, God will bless

The Merriam Webster online dictionary defines cult as: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also: its body of adherents. Indeed, any religion involving unconditional worship and unquestioning obedience to God could be labeled as a cult (using the derogatory suggestion of the word), since such a religion would have that high level of dependency, obedience, and unwavering compliance ascribed to cults by definition. Many mainstream religions still require their members to believe in God unquestioningly, to have faith that he is good and that what he does is good, to consider one s own wants and needs as unimportant while accepting the will of God as paramount. All of these are certainly characteristics commonly attributed to cults, but while it would not be unreasonable to apply this definition of a cult to any dogmatic religion that requires strict compliance with God s word and will as a condition of membership, the notion of applying the word cult to Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or any other major world religion today is considered absurd. There are those who make this very claim: that those who worship God fit the classic depiction of cult members in their dogmatism, unswerving

She said, When she [woman] stopped conforming to the conventional picture of femininity she finally began to enjoy being a woman(Friedan 465). Here, Friedan is saying society plays an immense role in telling how women should behave in accordance with their assigned genderroles and biological sexes. For instance, women should take up the caregiver role in a family because they show more feelings and sympathy. Yet, this gender construction impedes them to form their identities, seek satisfaction and freedom in lives. Once these gender labels and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to chapter seven of Patricia Mayer Spacks s The Female Imagination: A Literary and Psychological Investigation of Women s Writing, she claims marriage leaves no space for women (79). Here, Spacks is suggesting personal space is essentially significant as personal freedom. Consider if a woman does not feel she has enough space in a relationship, that means her granted freedom is restricted too because personal space is created when the other half is willing to give you liberty to do what you want without questioning. Clearly, Louise is not given that space and freedom in her marriage. For example, she describes her husband s powerful will bending hers (Chopin 525). Although Louise does not mention whether her husband has abused her, the description that she gives about him indicates she lives a life of imprisonment. In other words, she sees the house she is living as a prison in which liberty, happiness, and personal space are unreachable. By making this comparison and providing this source of information about Mr. Mallard, Chopin has effectively allowed readers to understand Louise s attitudes and opinions toward her husband. Moreover, she has successfully appealed to the female readers pathos because they will feel sympathetic and angry toward Louise s situation as Chopin s choice of using the word bending shows Louise undergoes

The book is today widely recognized as a historically significant literary work, and its importance has caused many scholars to debate whether Bram Stoker s main character Dracula was actually inspired by real historical figures. Although all evidence used in the debate is somewhat unreliable, it can be established that Bram Stoker based his character Count Draculaon historical figures to a certain extent.
