Το βιβλίο «Δημιουργώ παιχνίδια στο MSKodu» - http://www.koduplay.gr - δημιουργήθηκε στα πλαίσια του μαθήματος «Διδακτική της Πληροφορικής ΙΙ» που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο εαρινό εξάμηνο του ακαδημαϊκού έτους 2010-2011, στο τμήμα Μηχανικών Η/Υ, Δικτύων και Τηλεπικοινωνιών , του πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας. Οι φοιτητές ανέλαβαν πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο στη δημιουργία ενός εκπαιδευτικού προϊόντος που ελπίζουμε ότι θα είναι χρήσιμο στην εκπαιδευτική κοινότητα και ίσως ωθήσει αρκετούς μαθητές να μυηθούν στο κόσμο του προγραμματισμού από μια μοναδική σκοπιά, αυτή του Microsoft Kodu.
Πολλοί ίσως ήδη γνωρίζετε το βιβλίο «Δημιουργώ παιχνίδια στο Scratch» που δημιουργήθηκε με αντίστοιχο τρόπο το προηγούμενο ακαδημαϊκό έτος. Όπως και πέρσι, συμφωνήσαμε ότι η διδασκαλία πρέπει να ενσωματώνει την προσωπική επιστημολογική θεώρηση του κάθε δασκάλου, τις δικές του διδακτικές προσεγγίσεις αλλά και τις ιδιαίτερες συνθήκες που αφορούν τους μαθητές του, και για τους λόγους αυτούς το βιβλίο αυτό διανέμεται στο διαδίκτυο με άδεια (cc) Creative Commons. Μπορείτε, δηλαδή, να δημιουργήσετε και να διανείμετε τις δικές σας εκδοχές του βιβλίου, με διαφορετικά κεφάλαια, διαφορετικά παραδείγματα, διαφορετικές περιγραφές. - 2. Game Maker Game Maker is one application I could use to make an 8-bit game. It has a handy point-and- click interface, and is easy to use. If I can design the scene, my character, props and enemies with a retro look to them, then I can program how the characters move and fight in with an 8 bit look. Program Program is not quite as user-friendly as Game Maker, this one does involve some elements of programming, which could be difficult, but it will be simple to learn how, since the software makes it easier to learn. It will compile my finished game into a self-installing file, so it will be like a real commercial package. A fully-functional trial version is available for download, but it only lasts for thirty days, after which it costs $49.95 to purchase. If the other software's have the function to compile the game into a real game to install, then I would chose those, because of the cost. Sploder Sploder.com is a web site that has built-in Flash applications that allow me to design an 8- bit game. I may use this app, but since I will require the internet it will be my last choice.
- 4. Unity is a cross-platform game engine used to develop video games for PC, consoles, mobile devices and websites. It can be used to make possibly quite detailed three dimensional games, and I could use it for the levels in which I have a character exploring an area. If it is possible to add some three dimensional animations that will improve the storytelling of my game, then I can make a high quality product. It is obviously more difficult to program three dimensions, but if I am to do so for the four areas in which I need to make, with lighting and detail then I will make a well rounded game level. I also need top see if I can add a miniature eight bit animation into my three dimensional game so my 3D character can appear to be playing a retro game, and then finish it and move on to complete the real level objective of getting to his time portal.
