This document summarizes research on exploring controlling highway lighting by monitoring wind power parameters from wind turbines installed along highways. The researchers propose installing vertical-axis wind turbines along highways that can harness wind energy from vehicle movement. The turbines would charge batteries and power streetlights using an Arduino, sensors and an IoT system to monitor and control lighting automatically based on wind power and temperature readings. If wind power drops or temperature rises above thresholds, the IoT system would notify a base station. The system aims to efficiently utilize renewable wind energy to power streetlights sustainably.
