Formulating Hypothesis
Hypothesis Formulation is –
-the process of creating possible, tentative explanations for a given set of information.
-the whole Process of creating and formulating the hypothesis
How is Hypothesis Formulated
Reichenbach (1938) made a distinction between the two processes found commonly in any hypothesis formulation -
-Context of Discovery:
--Hypotheses is ‘discovered’ from earlier research findings, existing theories and personal observations, and experience.
-Context of justification:
--When a Researcher reconstructs his thoughts and communicates them in the form of a hypothesis to others, he uses the context of justification –
Steps in Formulation of Hypothesis
-Understand the area of problem
-Consider goal
-Identify variables
-identify the relationship between the variables.
-Think critically about hypothesis
-Express the idea as own hypothesis
Process of Hypothesis Formulation
-Understand the area of problem
Understand the problem that is being worked on.
-Consider goal
After selecting the problem & understanding the problem, objectives have to be selected according to the problem
-Identify variables
Must be define the variables.
Variables in hypothesis are testable not ?
Specify dependent and independent & others variables.
-Identify the relationship between the variables.
Variables are influence each other or not?
-Think critically about hypothesis
Hypothesis are testable, verifiable or not ? Which will make able to confirm the hypothesis.
-Express the idea as own hypothesis
Here researcher made the hypothesis in a Tentative Solution Statement manner

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Meaning:-
• “A report is a statement of the result of an investigation or of
any matter on which definite information is required.”
(Oxford English Dictionary)
11/11/2020 2
3. Significance Of Report Writing
• It is considered a major component of the research study
as the research remains incomplete without report.
• A report should be properly dated & signed by the concerned
authority or by the chairman of the committee or by all committee
members. This has a legal significance and needs special attention
in report writing.
• A lengthy report is not necessary. Infact, report should be brief and
compact document, it should give complete picture of problem
underinvestigation.
11/11/2020 3
4. • Writing reports needs skills and this task should be
accomplished by the researcher with the utmost care.
• Reports communicate the planning, policies, and other matters
regarding an organization.
• Reports discloses unknown information.
• A good report is one which is drafted in a simple and clear
language. Its should not be difficult and a reader should be able
to understand the entire report easily, exactly & quickly.
11/11/2020 4
5. •All the skills and the knowledge of the professionals are
communicated through reports.
•Reports help the top line in decision making.
•A true and balanced report also helps in problem
solving.
•A report should be in a proper format. The report should have all
the essentials components such as title, introduction, findings &
recommendations.
11/11/2020 5
6. • Reports present adequate information on various aspects of the
business.
• In a report writing attention should be given to certain essential
technical details. For eg: the pages and paragraphs of the report should
be numbered properly. Marginal heading and titles should be given.
This gives convenience to the readers.
• The data collection, analysis and interpretation of the data conclusions
drawn and the recommendations made in report should be made
accurate so as to make the whole report reliable and dependable for
future reference and also for policy decisions.

7. TYPES OF REPORTS
(A)Technical Report
A technical report is used whenever a full written report of the
study is required whether for record keeping or for public
dissemination.
The main emphasis is on
(i) the methods employed
(ii) assumptions made in the course of the study
(iii) the detailed presentation of the findings including their
limitations and supporting data.
11/11/2020 7
8. Outline of a technical report :
1. Summary of results: A brief review of the main findings just in
two or three pages.
2. Nature of the study: Description of the general objectives of
study, formulation of the problem in operational terms, the working
hypothesis, the type of analysis and data required, etc.
3. Methods employed: Specific methods used in the study and their
limitations. For instance, in sampling studies we should give details
of sample design viz., sample size, sample selection, etc.
11/11/2020 8
9. 4. Data: Discussion of data collected, their sources,
characteristics and limitations. If secondary data are used,
their suitability to the problem at hand be fully assessed. In
case of a survey, the manner in which data were collected
should be fully described.
5. Analysis of data and presentation of findings: The
analysis of data and presentation of the findings of the study
with supporting data in the form of tables and charts be fully
narrated. This, in fact, happens to be the main body of the
report usually extending over several chapters.
11/11/2020 9
10. 6. Conclusions: A detailed summary of the findings and the
policy implications drawn from the results be explained.
7. Bibliography: Bibliography of various sources consulted
be prepared and attached.
8. Technical appendices: Appendices be given for all
technical matters relating to questionnaire, mathematical
derivations, elaboration on particular technique of analysis
and the like ones.
9. Index: Index must be prepared and be given invariably in
the report at the end.
11/11/2020 10
11. (B) Popular Report
A popular report is used if the research results have policy
implications.
• Give emphasis on simplicity and attractiveness.
• clear writing, minimization of technical, particularly
mathematical, details and liberal use of charts and diagrams.
• Attractive layout along with large print, many subheadings,
• even an occasional cartoon
11/11/2020 11
12. General outline of a popular report.
1. The findings and their implications: Emphasis in the report is
given on the findings of most practical interest and on the
implications of these findings.
2. Recommendations for action: Recommendations for action on
the basis of the findings of the study is made in this section of the
report.
3. Objective of the study: A general review of how the problem
arise is presented along with the specific objectives of the project
under study.
11/11/2020 12
13. 4. Methods employed: A brief and non-technical description of the
methods and techniques used, including a short review of the data
on which the study is based, is given in this part of the report.
5. Results: This section constitutes the main body of the report
wherein the results of the study are presented in clear and non-
technical terms with liberal use of all sorts of illustrations such as
charts, diagrams and the like ones.
6. Technical appendices: More detailed information on methods
used, forms, etc. is presented in the form of appendices. But the
appendices are often not detailed if the report is entirely meant for
general public.
