To analyse shots, sound, editing & m-e-s in scenes.
To identify stereotyping of age groups in society.
• What are some of the differences between
your and your parents’ generations?
• List them as points in a table.

2. • When you think of TV dads – who do you think
of?
• What type of character would you come to
expect as a representation of dads in the
media?

3. Analyse this…
• You are going to watch a scene from Skins, in
which a teenage boy and his dad are
represented.
• Watch the clip and make a note of the use of
shot, sounds, editing & m-e-s by circling type
of shot and sounds used and writing a brief
description of them.

crack – making him an object of
ridicule for the audience.
