SYMPTOMS
RE-PITCH
ABOUT
Genre: Alternative/Indie Band
Background: Music Tech degree, worked way up
and formed band
Signed to XL Records, similar artists.
Ideology: Work hard and you’ll get there
Influences: The Kooks, AWOLNATION, The Killers,
Foster the People and The Filthy Youth
Costume + Style: Tshirt +
skinny jeans, dark clothes,
laid back.
CONCEPT
The idea of the music video is that a young girl is caught up
in how she looks, this is all changed when her reflection
takes over and messes with how she looks (example, cuts
her hair, messes with her make up, rips her clothes). The girl
feels overwhelmed and eventually builds up the courage to
destroy her reflection and therefore her insecurities of her
appearance.
LOCATION (INTERIOR)
I plan for my music video to be split into two parts; narrative and
performance. Both will be shot indoors. For the narrative aspect of the video,
I plan for it to be dark and gritty
LOCATION (INTERIOR)
The second part of the music video will be performance
based in a basic room.
MOODBOARD
TARGET
AUDIENCE
STORYBOARDS AND
ANIMATIC
APPLYING GOODWIN
I want the beat and some lyrics to be synchronous to the
song (music + visuals, lyrics + visuals). The voyuerism will
be used by the mirror. Close ups of the band will be shown to
show the influence from the record label. Intertextuality will
be using the similar shots used in the TV show Damages title
sequence when the song was used; also the smashing of the
mirror will reference Evanescence’s Everybody’s Fool. Genre
conventions, black and white video, dressed as previously
shown, mise en scene gritty + dirty setting.
