Changing the label on sin does not change the result of the sin. A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. A skunk by any other name would stink just as bad.
There is only one thing worse than our being deceived by someone, that is, deceiving ourselves. We deceive ourselves when we hear the word of God but do not obey. We deceive ourselves when we think we can associate with sinners and it not affect us. We deceive ourselves when we we say we have no sin. We deceive ourselves when we think our sin is not our fault. We deceive ourselves when we think too highly of ourselves. We deceive ourselves when we defile the temple of God. We deceive ourselves when we think we are wise in this age. We deceive ourselves when we do not control our tongue. We deceive ourselves when we think we can sow one thing and reap another. We deceive ourselves when we can be unrighteous and still make it to heaven.

These stories illustrate how Hanuman's unwavering faith and courage can guide us through challenges and foster resilience. Through these timeless narratives, readers can find profound wisdom to apply in their daily lives.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Repentance
1. REPENTANCE
Rev 16:11
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of
their pains and their sores, and repented not of their
deeds.
Rev 16:21
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of
heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and
men blasphemed God because of the plague of the
hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
Rev 16:9
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and
blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over
these plagues:
Rev 19:13
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in
blood: and his name is called The Word of
God.
and they repented not to give him glory.
2. THROUGHOUT this chapter, the Apostle is speaking of the
seven last plagues which were to be poured out upon the
earth by seven angels,
each of them having a vial of wrath for that purpose.
Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and
marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues;
for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
Rev 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven
angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who
liveth for ever and ever.
God intended to bring men to repentance by this extreme
punishment;
but as our verse tells us
“they repented not to give Him glory.”
The same is true today.
I. Repentance gives God glory
It is man’s ongoing duty to Repent.
3. Repentance is generally seen only as a means of
averting wrath:
it should be seen as a means of
“giving glory to God.”
Sin dishonors God but Repentance honors God, and
“gives glory to Him;”
A. As the all-knowing God that he is
Genuine Repentance spreads all the secrets of the soul
before God;
acknowledging, that God has seen them all, and that he
will call us into judgment for them.
Josh 7:19 We should As Joshua commanded Achan
19 And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray
thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make
confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast
done; hide it not from me.
B. As the just and holy God that he is
4. A rebellious man considers his sins as light and excusable.
He thinks that God will overlook them, without any
expressions of his wrath and indignation.
But true repentance regards God as
“of purer eyes than to behold iniquity,”
As honor bound to execute vengeance on the
transgressors of his law.
Real humility will justify God in all his threatening;
and will tremble at them, as sure to be executed at their
time of arraignment.
But
Zech 13:1-2
1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the
house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for
sin and for uncleanness.
2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of
hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the
land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I
will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out
of the land.
5. C. As a merciful and gracious God
Without this knowledge of God, man would live in utter
despair.
Exod 34:7
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the
guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children, and upon the children's children, unto the third
and to the fourth generation.
Repentance recognizes God, not merely as to a Judge,
Jury and executioner, but also Father and a Friend.
But I would commend repentance to you further,
II. Repentance is the goal of God’s work
Ezek 18:23
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?
saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from
his ways, and live?
Ezek 33:11
6. 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have
no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the
wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from
your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
A. His mercies are his work
The goodness of the Lord should lead us to repentance.
He has not rewarded us according to our transgressions.
He causes the sun to rise on the just and the unjust.
God has borne with us beyond all that we could have
reasonably expected;
OUR “blessings have been double” the amount of the
judgments we have deserved.
Isa 61:7
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion
they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land
they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be
unto them.
7. It would take a very unreasonable and rebellious man to
not be humbled to Repentance by the mercies of God.
B. His judgments are his work
The judgments of God in your life show he has left you
enough space to Repent.
The warnings have been often and clear in scripture that
God judges sin.
His judgments have proved to be for our betterment in
the end always.
Heb 12:9-10
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which
corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not
much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits,
and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their
own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be
partakers of his holiness.
8. Amos 4:6-12
6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your
cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye
not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when
there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused
it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon
another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece
whereupon it rained not withered.
8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink
water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not
returned unto me, saith the LORD.
9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your
gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your
olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them:
yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the
manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the
sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have
made the stink of your camps to come up unto your
nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the
LORD.
9. 11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew
Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked
out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me,
saith the LORD.
12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and
because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God,
O Israel.
Conclusion:
Give God glory by genuine repentance.
Phony
Ps 78:34-37 34 When he slew them, then they sought
him: and they returned and enquired early after God. 35
And they remembered that God was their rock, and the
high God their redeemer. 36 Nevertheless they did flatter
him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their
tongues. 37 For their heart was not right with him,
neither were they stedfast in his covenant.

2Cor 7:10-11 10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance
to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the
world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing,
10. that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it
wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea,

Give God glory by immediate repentance.
2Cor 6:1-2

also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
