Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources which are replenished
such as wind, wave, solar, biomass and tidal power. Governments and companies around the
world are investing heavily in developing technologies to harness the power of clean
renewable energy sources because of their potential to produce large quantities of energy
without generating greenhouse gases which can contribute to climate change. Most of the
power generation in India is carried out by conventional energy sources, coal and mineral oilbased
power plants which contribute heavily to greenhouse gases emission.
Renewable energy sources consist of solar, hydro, wind, geothermal, ocean and
biomass. The most common advantage of each is that they are renewable and cannot be
depleted. They are a clean energy, as they don't pollute the air, and they don't contribute to
global warming effects. Since their sources are natural the cost of operations is reduced and
they also require less maintenance on their plants.
A brief presentation on alternate sources of energy prepared for class room presentation at Institute of Management in Kerala with special emphasis to Indian context.
Sustainable energy is the form of energy obtained from non-exhaustible resources, such that the provision of this form of energy serves the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
Types of sustainable energy include the Wind energy,
Solar energy ,Hydro power, Tidal power ,Geothermal energy ,Energy from bio mass.These energies have been used successfully in the agriculture in various applications.
Therefore the sustainable energy usage in agriculture is a good alternative for the high demand of energy requirements.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

India has a number of hydro electric plants : Damodar
valley project ,Hirakund Dam, Bhakra Dam
Now a days small hydroelectric projects have great
potential for supplying electricity in India,two projects
with 150 kW & 200 kW have been installed in Himachal
Pradesh & one with 300kW at Kakroi in Haryana.

It helps in to control floods.

20. Geothermal Energy
As “Geo” means earth; “Thermal” means heat.
The heat inside the earth, under favourable conditions, can be
utilised as a source of energy, this is called geothermal
energy.
In other words “the heat energy from hot rocks present
inside the earth”.

21. Harnessing Of Geothermal Energy
In some geological regions of the Earth,the underground
water comes in contact with hot spots and changes into
steam. The steam so formed ,gets trapped in between
the underground rocks and gets compressed to very,very
high pressure.
This steam is extracted from the surface by sinking pipes
from the surface,which is used in running turbines
connected to the generator,which produces electricity.

22. Potential Of Geothermal Energy
Geothermal Energy is the newest among all so it does
not have any cotribution of power generation in India
But in some of the parts of world it geologically exists in
present in US,Chile,Iceland,New Zealand.
Iceland produces 170MW of energy.
Presently 8000MW of global capacity is operational.

It is stable and most reliable source of energy as it is not
