Synergies and connections Open University Learning Design Toolbox Connecting with other initiatives both internally and externally ensures added value from OULDI work. The connection to a variety of projects and international consortia demonstrates the impact of OULDI. Outputs include:  over 120 publications, workshops, conferences presentations and keynotes within the OU, nationally and in 16 other countries.  Adding  value by linking  & connecting http://ouldi.open.ac.uk Open University Learning Design Toolbox Pick & mix of design tools & resources JISC OULDI Curriculum Design One of 12 projects in the JISC curriculum design programme, this complements the institutional work. The focus is a series of case study interventions applying the OULDI methodology across the OU and 4 other institutions (Brunel, Cambridge, London South Bank and Reading universities). Course Business Models project OULDI team members are involved and to date the project has produced 4-course views: Course Map, Pedagogy Profile, Cost Effectiveness and Course Performance. The project is now producing a set of cross-institutional exemplars Learning in an Open World research programme The OULDI work is a core aspect of one of 3 new research programmes in IET. The programme links together related research on design and OER and explores what ‘openness’ means in 4 areas: Open Design, Open Delivery, Open Research and Open Evaluation. Internally EUPT3 (Framework for preparing teachers to teach with ICT) This Leonardo-funded EU project is a partnership with Cyprus and Greece and is essentially about transfer and evaluation of the OULDI tools and resources. OPAL (Open Educational Quality Initiative) Funded under the EU lifelong learning programme, this is a partnership between 7organizations (University of Duisburg-Essen, ICDE, UNESCO, EFQUEL, Aalto university, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and the Open University UK). The aim is to articulate Open Educational Practices (OEP) around OER, leading to enhancements in innovation and quality. Internationally Olnet Funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Olnet aims to gather evidence and methods about how we can research and understand ways to learn in a more open world, particularly linked to Open Educational Resources (OER).

Connecting OU initiatives boosts learning design

  • 1. Synergies and connections Open University Learning Design Toolbox Connecting with other initiatives both internally and externally ensures added value from OULDI work. The connection to a variety of projects and international consortia demonstrates the impact of OULDI. Outputs include: over 120 publications, workshops, conferences presentations and keynotes within the OU, nationally and in 16 other countries. Adding value by linking & connecting http://ouldi.open.ac.uk Open University Learning Design Toolbox Pick & mix of design tools & resources JISC OULDI Curriculum Design One of 12 projects in the JISC curriculum design programme, this complements the institutional work. The focus is a series of case study interventions applying the OULDI methodology across the OU and 4 other institutions (Brunel, Cambridge, London South Bank and Reading universities). Course Business Models project OULDI team members are involved and to date the project has produced 4-course views: Course Map, Pedagogy Profile, Cost Effectiveness and Course Performance. The project is now producing a set of cross-institutional exemplars Learning in an Open World research programme The OULDI work is a core aspect of one of 3 new research programmes in IET. The programme links together related research on design and OER and explores what ‘openness’ means in 4 areas: Open Design, Open Delivery, Open Research and Open Evaluation. Internally EUPT3 (Framework for preparing teachers to teach with ICT) This Leonardo-funded EU project is a partnership with Cyprus and Greece and is essentially about transfer and evaluation of the OULDI tools and resources. OPAL (Open Educational Quality Initiative) Funded under the EU lifelong learning programme, this is a partnership between 7organizations (University of Duisburg-Essen, ICDE, UNESCO, EFQUEL, Aalto university, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and the Open University UK). The aim is to articulate Open Educational Practices (OEP) around OER, leading to enhancements in innovation and quality. Internationally Olnet Funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Olnet aims to gather evidence and methods about how we can research and understand ways to learn in a more open world, particularly linked to Open Educational Resources (OER).
