Relanit Technology
Relanit is a modern technology for circular knitting machine. In the
conventional circular knitting machine the relative action between sinker
and the needle was occurred at 90° angle, but in the relanit technology
the sinker and the needle action at 0°, and loop formation occurred at 0°.

Why relanit is used ?
In conventional machine in time of loop formation needle gives vertical
movement and sinker gives a horizontal movement. In this process
needle have to descend to knock-over, which takes some time, so to
minimize this time, relanit technology is innovated. In the MAYER & CHI
machine this technology is used, in this technology the sinker used is
different from the conventional process.
In the conventional machine, the knock-over and the
clearing is given below.

The main reason for using this technique to minimize the
time in every loop formation, so that fabric can be made in
less time, ultimately to increases the production rate.

From the figure we can see that, the cam shape of
relanit is smaller, which saves some area.

Due smaller cam shape, more no. of cam can be used in same diameter
machine, which will increase the productivity of the machine.
Due to smaller cam machine can run at higher speed.

For example in Fukuhara, or Orizio machine,
For 30 diameter machine,
maximum 90 cam box or feeder can be used
But in Mayer & Chi machine, for 30 diameters machine
96 feeders can be available (Max 120)
Ultimately in every revolution of cylinder, 6 more courses found.
From the calculation below we can found the higher productivity

If a machine runs at 30 rpm, then 6 X 30 = 180
courses /min
= 180 x60=10800
courses / hr
=180 x60x24=259200
courses /day
Draw backs of Relanit technology

Due to higher machine speed more heat will
be generated so more lubricating oil is required.
some of the Mayer & Chi machine, consume
extra motor power than conventional machine
which also add extra cost.
