Background: There have been studies investigating the effect of probiotic yoghurt on blood lipids.
However the results are conflicting. Also, there have been few studies involving probiotic cheese.
Purpose: The goal of this trial was to compare the consumption effect of probiotic yoghurt with
probiotic cheese on blood lipids.
Methods: 180 subjects aged 18 65, with 6 mmol/l total cholesterol were participated in a 2 month trial.
Subjects were assigned into three 60 person groups; probiotic cheese group (30 g/d), probiotic yoghurt
group (100 g/d) and control.
Results: A significant reduction in cholesterol was observed at the end within both groups; Cheese (
0.42 mmol/L; 95% CI, 0.47, 0.37; P 0.0001), Yoghurt ( 0.15 mmol/L; 95% CI, 0.25, 0.05; P=0.007).
HDL, LDL and Triglyceride also showed significant improvements during 2 month period.
Cholesterol comparison with control also revealed a significant reduction in both groups; cheese ( 0.51
mmol/L; 95% CI, 0.63, 0.39; P 0.0001), yoghurt ( 0.27 mmol/L; 95% CI, 0.39, 0.15; P 0.0001).
Conclusion: Probiotic cheese showed greater improvement effects on blood lipids compared to

Comparing Themes And Reflection Of A Piano Concert By...
On September 12th, 2017, I attended a piano concert by Jeffrey Jacobs that consisted of some
various 20th century repertoire composed by Ian Dicke, Béla Bartok, George Crumb, and Dr.
Takuma Itoh. All of these pieces were extremely fascinating to listen to, and I enjoyed every
minute of it.
The first two pieces on the program, entitled Intermezzo and Soliloquy, were
both written by Dr. Itoh. Both works contain contrasting differences in themes, difficulty, and
structure. According to Dr. Itoh, Intermezzo was written for a children s piano competition
therefore, it wasn t written to be a highly virtuosic work, but a work of simplicity. As I was
listening, I thought that it was a very gentle piece that somewhat reminded me of the beginning
measures of Debussy s The Snow is Dancing from his suite Children s Corner, in terms of
color. In fact, the tranquility and repetitive patterns of Intermezzo reminded me of a gentle,
light snowfall with contemplation and reflection taking place. Unlike Intermezzo, Soliloquy
sounded more technically complex and virtuosic. However, like Intermezzo, Soliloquy also
had repetitive patterns, and recurring themes. To describe Soliloquy, I d say that this piece
contains a certain warmth that is complimented by glassy effects. That warmth was where I
felt influences of Romantic era music.

Lost in Translation In Lost in Translation, Lera Boroditsky writes to people within businesses or
people who are wanting to invest in companies that work with other countries. She writes to inform
and tell the reader that if getting involved with other countries you need to know what to expect. The
examples she provides in her article show that language in some countries does differ from others, but
it isn t like that in every country. She writes to inform business people what they need to know before
they get involved with other countries. This is why this article is published in the Wall Street Journal,
Boroditsky wants all business companies to know what to expect before they get involved.
Throughout the article I pulled out rhetorical choices that make the article what it is. Lera Boroditsky
credibility shows through past references, significance to audience, statistical jargon through logos,
and personal anecdotes.
In the beginning paragraphs, the article begins with a past reference and the example is based off of a
saying that everyone knows. It goes with this article perfect because it is a universal quote and the
article is always discussing how language is universal. Humpty Dumpty sat on a ... Even this snippet
of a nursery rhyme reveals how much languages can differ from one another... In English, we have to
mark the verb tense... (Boroditsky 437) Within other countries and their grammar there are little things
that are different. If someone was reading this in Australia they may say something different than what
we say. It is important that the audience knows this because it makes an impact on how things may be
presented in another country. Having this past reference, it gives the reader the inside on what the
author is explaining. When the verb tense is affected it changes the outcome of the situation that is
described. Depending on what language is being presented to the audience. The next example s
rhetorical choice is a form of statistical jargon that is using logos. Through this quote we get to
understand the facts and what is being presented. There is universal grammar for all human

In The Night the Ghost Got In, Thurber used humor to lessen the serious condition called PTSD. Back
in 1915 PTSD was not a known condition. In the story Thurber has the grandfather suffer from PTSD.
He thought the policemen were deserters and tries to shoot them (page 3). Deserters were people who
abandoned duty without permission. Many soldiers in the war did not like deserters and therefore why

has reached a historic all time low throughout the last couple of years but teen girls are still giving
