- 2. Locations: Toby’s house: November 18th 11am – 1:30pm Bedroom, kitchen, hallway, bathroom and front garden. Daniels House: 5th December 11am – 3pm Living room, hallway, bathroom and front garden. Reshoot/School: 25th January 8:45am – 10:45am Hospital/office: 7th February 4pm – 6pm Street: 12th February 10am – 11:30am

Toby’s bedroom: Risks Tight for space Electric equipment with wires Trip hazards Low risks Precautions Assured the tripod and camera were stable in place first Kept wires for sound recording off the ground and neatly together to prevent tripping. If wires needed to touch the ground, we warned actor before shooting.
- 4. Toby’s bathroom: Risks Limited space Crowded around equipment Only real risk was injuring ourselves due to the small amount of space. Running water and battery powered equipment Very low risk Precautions There really isn’t very much space in the bathroom at all so we will place the tripod in the doorway. All sound was record afterwards in order to prevent cramped situations. When recording water and washing the face, we will keep the equipment at a decent distance to prevent damaging it.

Toby’s Kitchen: Risks Electrics e.g. toaster – fire hazards etc. Water – wont be a risk but could be if water is used when not recording Wires and tripping hazards Low risk rate Precautions We had to keep toasting bread to get a couple of shots in and it could have burned and caused the smoke detector to go off – we turned the toaster down and didn’t put the bread down for very long. We didn’t use any water near the equipment. All wires were kept off the floor to prevent tripping.

Toby’s hallway: Risks We’ll record sound from the stairs – could fall – actress could trip on wires etc. Actor walking very close to the tripod – could trip etc. Low risk rate Precautions Sound recording will be recorded sat down to maintain stability and will keep wires close to prevent actress tripping. Actress will start one step down from the sound recorder to prevent tripping and will walk slowly. Actor will start in front of the tripod and will be told to not step backwards at risk of injury and damaging equipment.
- 7. Toby’s front garden: Risks Cold – winter weather Might have rained – could slip in water – equipment could get damaged. Precautions Will put a coat on; wrap up warm – fits scene since it is set in the winter. Umbrellas will be brought to protect equipment and sensible shoes will be worn in order to prevent slipping. Check weather in advance to be prepared.

Daniels living room: Risks Actor has to push head back towards the wall to make it look like he has hit his head Trip on wires or tripod Precautions He won’t actually hit his head, but come very close to it. Tripods and wires will be kept out of the way, the space is quite large so will have room to move.
- 9. Daniels hallway: Risks Tight space – tripping hazards e.g. tripod and wires Sound record on the stairs Low risks Precautions Keep wires out of the way and ensure actor walks around the tripod to prevent tripping. Sound record on the stairs to maximize space and avoid tripping hazards.
- 10. Daniels bathroom: Risks Water – could damage equipment Allergies – toothpaste, actor may not be able to use specific toothpastes Small space – trip or injuries Low risks Precautions Keep equipment a good distance from any water Ask actor to bring own toothpaste and toothbrush Set up cautiously an limit movements.
- 11. Daniels front garden: Risks Weather – could rain – slip and damage equipment Cold – winter Gate – actor puts coat on in hurry in some shots outside – could hit hand on fence Precautions Keep an eye on the weather and bring umbrella etc. Wear warm clothing and sensible shoes Warn actor of fence and tell him to be careful when putting coat on – practice and choreograph to prevent injury.

School/Office: Risks Electrics – wires, equipment and props; trip hazard Moving furniture e.g. tables – risk of damaging school facilities etc. Low risk Precautions Keep wires neat and off the ground to prevent from tripping When pulling out the table to record from behind the computer, be careful with hanging wires and limited space. Keep distance from frame of shooting by zooming in. Move furniture as a group to prevent from injury and damage.

Hospital office: Risks Moving furniture – risk of damaging and injury Lights – hot Wires from lights and sound Low risk Precautions Do not move furniture alone Do not move/touch lights when they are on – leave to cool slightly Do not move lights when extended to full height, collapse down first. Ensure wires are off the ground or clearly visible e.g. taped down to prevent tripping.

Street Risks Cars – risk of accident Cold – winter Weather – rain or snow; could damage equipment Precautions Chose a smaller road – should be less cars on the road; don’t record in the road and only allow actors to be on the road when sure of no car coming – long road so can see when there is a car long before it reaches us. Wear warm clothing Keep an eye on the weather and bring umbrella etc.
