This document summarizes a study that examined Libyan EFL teachers' attitudes toward using authentic reading materials at the university level in Libya. The study found that Libyan EFL teachers held positive attitudes toward incorporating authentic texts in reading lessons. Teachers felt that an ideal reading class should combine both authentic texts and textbooks. The document provides background on the status of English language education in Libya and defines authentic materials as real-world texts produced for purposes other than language teaching.
