This presentation, describes a project underway at the University of Southern Queensland to create a version of Moodle that doesn’t require internet access. And explores its possible application to a host of alternative contexts and uses.

The technology has done tremendous things on our society today particularly in the field of education. In medieval times, books were rare and only an elite few had access to educational opportunities. Today, massive amounts of books, audio, images, and videos, are available at one’s fingertips, the opportunities for formal learning are available online worldwide, access to learning opportunities today is unprecedented in scope thanks to technology, So, It has to be understood that the schooling system has been positively impacted as both students and teachers are now able to perform their task efficiently (Collins, 2013). The using technology is becoming a universal medium and source for most of the information that flows through eyes, will be facilitate the process of education on widely and availability of computers in schools these days has enabled students and teachers have unlimited access to many categories of education. The advances in the technology are very helpful in distance learning and transforming the way people are educated.
I think the technology has helped a lot in raising the understanding level of students and improving education in many ways, it is good tool in building interest in studies as a result students' attendance is increased in institutions which availing technology education. "Technology can give teachers and students great resources, new opportunities for learning, ways to collaborate and create, and save money. Technology is a very powerful tool for education" (David Andrade, 2009). The technology can improve student achievement and it is improving education in many ways, of which active Learning Interactive technologies supply stimulating environments that encourage student involvement in the learning process, there are many studies that support the advantages of using multimedia to help students construct knowledge and work cooperatively. Interactive technologies aid teachers with creating new learning environments.
Let’s look at assistive education technology and how that can the improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability. Online learning, can offer disabled students some additional perks, most notably the convenience and flexibility to accommodate individual needs and the people separated by distance and time and often do not include consideration of the needs of people with disabilities. In fact, the design of many distance learning courses erects barriers to the full participation of students and instructors with some types of disabilities.

Technology is a major contributor to the current improved standards and quality of education system in the United States. The introduction of technology to the learning institutions and more especially in classroom has greatly encouraged engagement and collaboration from the students which defines whether learning is taking place or not. The current generation having grown up with technology in their fingertips, its inclusion in the learning environment will have more of positive impacts than negative impacts to their academic performance and their future success in general. This paper serves to analyze the encouraging impacts of technology in the education system, its importance to both the learners and teachers and why it has to be embraced in classroom.

Is the incorporation of technology into the learning and teaching system improving the quality of education? From history, technology has been like a catalyst for the many changes that we are experiencing in the current world. For instance, when we think of the way the internet has unified the world into a single society, technology takes credit. In production and manufacturing industry, efficiency and productivity have been greatly improved through technology. With the many benefits of technology, it's no doubt then that our learning institutions are making use of technology even in the classroom. However, the most commonly asked question is whether the technology in the classroom helps students to learn. Well, some individuals may argue that technology is distracting students from their full learning potential, I am certain that the use of technology in our learning institutions plays a vital role for the betterment of the students’ future. As David Warlick said, “We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it’s the pen and paper of our time, and it’s the lens through which we experience much of our world”. In this paper, I will discuss the importance of technology to the student, teacher and the education system as a whole (Al‐Zahrani, 2015).
According to the Social Constructivism Theory, learning is viewed as students’ integration into a knowledge community that involves collaborative assimilation besides accommodation of new information. Students' engagement in the classroom serves as an indication that the learning process is taking place. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Overall, my reaction to this book was very
positive. It has widened my thinking concerning
education and the path we are currently taking as a
society. I enjoyed learning where we have been and
where we are going in the American schooling system.
Regardless of technology skeptics, the learning
environment and the way we learn is changing.
Unfortunately, the world is moving at a faster pace than
our current education system and we must radically
change to meet the needs of our young people.

3. It was very interesting to read about how our
current school structure came into being. This
provided me with a plethora of knowledge on how
instructional technology has changed over time. This
made me really understand how important technology
has become in the area of education and its endless
potential. Classrooms have already made great gains
in the use of technology. About 10-15 years ago,
there was minimal use in the technology development
for instructional purposes. Now, the majority of
current classrooms are equipped with interactive
whiteboards and student response systems.
4. The authors pointed out that technology advances are
not a substitute to teaching but a tool to help facilitate
the learning process.
The authors discussed how parents are starting
to take on more of a stronger role in their child’s
education. This is due to current innovations in
technology. Although this seems encouraging, there
are some issues that could potential be unfavorable.
Our society is already divisive along many lines and the
introduction of more individualized learning led by
parents, religious groups and other organizations might
further widen the gaps between groups.
5. Isolation could become a real problem as more and more
interaction comes in the form of electronic
communication and less face-to-face interaction.
The author’s seemed to be in favor of learning
that occurs outside of the traditional school setting.
Homeschooling, workplace learning, internet cafes, etc.
were all mentioned as non-traditional places to learn.
