The survey analyzed responses from 22 RBEC country offices on their gender mainstreaming efforts from 2009 to 2012. It found that: 1) Most country offices have gender focal point teams and gender strategies/action plans in place. 2) The number of gender projects and funding for them increased over time, with most support coming from UN agencies and the European Union. 3) While many country offices have gender mainstreaming mechanisms, only around half apply gender markers to over 50% of their projects.
