Fort Lauderdale s Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeon
Fort Lauderdale s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. John Michael Thomassen can use chin
implants to increase the size of the chin or he can reduce the size and/or projection of a patient s
chin with a chin reduction surgery. With both of these procedures, Dr. Thomassen provides his
patients with a natural looking chin that is more proportionate to his or her other facial features.
The Chin Plays an Important Role in the Proportions of the Face
The chin greatly affects the overall appearance of the face; furthermore, the chin also plays an
important role in the way the patient s facial profile looks. For example, a chin that is
proportionately too small for the other features of the face can cause the size of the nose and
forehead to be exaggerated. Dr. John Michael Thomassen offers chin augmentationprocedures with
and without chin implants to the men and women of Fort Lauderdale, and its surrounding
communities.
Chin Implants Are Used in Fort Lauderdale to Address a Weak Chin
Dr. Thomassen frequently performs chin augmentation procedures using chin implants to correct a
chin that is lacking adequate projection. This chin characteristic is referred to as a weak chin.
When a patient has a weak chin, his or her nose and forehead appear larger than they truly are.
Chin Implant Surgery Can Be Combined with Other Plastic Surgery Procedures
Just as with nose reshaping surgery, a chin augmentation procedure with a chin implant can make
significant changes to

The Importance Of Resume Education
The education section in your resume shows employers that you have the training and certifications
to work as an accountant. Because accountants are legally required by the Securities and Exchange
Commission to be certified, your education section allows employers to quickly see if you have the
necessary credentials. When writing a resume educationsection as a new graduate, it s important to
show employers that your education has giving you real life experiences that will benefit their firm.
What to Include in an Accountant Resume Education Section
Most states require that accountants have a bachelor degree before becoming a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA). Your education section needs to include your college education, additional

How to Format an Accountant Resume Education Section
Format your resume education section with the name of your degree listed first, followed by your
school name and its location. Recent graduates should list their graduation date; if you are still in
school, write that date that you expect to graduate from college.
Using bullet points, special projects, internships and organizations that you belonged to during
school should be included under each college name. When writing a resume education section,
always include if you attended an honors school or graduated with honors, such as summa cum
laude or magna cum laude. Only include your GPA if you are a recent graduate or it s required of
the employer in the job posting.

How to Learn How to Play Dominoes
How to Learn How to Play Dominoes
Ask your dad if he wants to play dominoes. You have seen the case on his mantle for years and
have never had the courage to talk about it. He might actually be real competition.
He agrees.
Sit down at his small glass coffee table, you on the floor and him on the couch.
Okay, so first you have to shuffle the dominoes like this, he says and proceeds to demonstrate while
you watch.
Well, this is awkward. Quickly, school your face into a mask of attentiveness.
You know how to play dominoes and, as you ll soon come to know, you know even better than
him; you have even beaten your mom a few times and your sister more times than you can count,
but he assumes you don t.
You want to ask if he really thinks you don t know how to play. You think, haven t you met my
momma? You were married to her (you know this because you ve seen the wedding pictures, and
remember distinctively the one of them kissing it felt wrong and you have never been brave
enough to examine that feeling); you really think I don t know how to play dominoes?
But you decide against it . Your Mother, as he calls her, has always been a touchy subject with your
dad. You ve never actually seen the two of them speak, but every time she must be mentioned he
frowns and his voice takes on this crafted, neutral tone that never is quite so neutral. You ve often
wondered about this tone (even went so far as to ask your sister about it once. Don t worry about
it, she

Ch10 Gender Development Video Analysis
The name of the video I viewed was Ch10. Gender Development . I viewed this video at 8:14 PM
on April 27, 2016. The video begins with the narrator introducing a woman that is studying the
effects of how we treat children on gender development. Her name is Dr. Caroline Smith. She is
sitting at a desk watching a baby and a mother interact. The video then shows her telling a mother
about a baby that she will be playing with while she studies them. The narrator explains that Dr.
Smith does a study using mothers. She asks the mothers to play with children that they have never
met previously. She analyzes the difference between how others act towards boys that towards
girls. Different mothers are shown playing with different children. Dr. Smith

Essay On The Movie Flyboys
This war won t ever be won by either side. Someday it ll just end is a quote used from Tony Bill s
movie, Flyboys . Even though The United States President, Woodrow Wilson, used every effort
to keep America out of the war, some Americans enlisted in the armies of the allies to fight
instead of his efforts. Flyboys stars James Franco as Blaine Rawlings, Scott Hazell as Cinema
Usher, Mac McDonald as Sheriff Detweiller, and Philip Winchester as William Jensen. Flyboys
was awarded two gold medals of excellence for Best Impact of Music in a Feature Film Director s
Choice and Best Impact of Music in a Feature Film Audience Choice (IMDb). The film was
releases in 2006 and was only received well in the first week by, grossing $6,004,219 from 2,033
theaters , but received very little gross after that week (IMBd). Hollywood movies have a knack
and a history of showing historic events, people, and timelines to the audience as more of
entrainment, rather than keeping them consistent with history. The film, Flyboys was not immune
to this knack of Hollywood, but the film still has some historical accuracy. Much of the historical
inaccuracies are seen in the addition of the classical storybook plot and the addition of romance,
and even the personnel of the Layfette Escadrille. There are however, some historical accurate
aspects that the film used, but were mostly apart of the background rather than a main focal point.
The film has many strengths in depicting historical accuracies that happened in World War one,
but are largely suppressed by the addition of drama, romance, and factors for an entertaining story.
Flyboys follows the story of a few American young men that want to help fight in the Great War. In
the year nineteen seventeen, the United States had still excluded itself from World War one, but it
did not stop these soon to be American pilots. These young and brave Americans go on to join the
Layfette Escadrille. The Layfette Escadrille was a French division of aviators that was made up of
mostly Americans during World War one (Guttman). The main character
that the film follows is a
Texan named Blaine Rawlings who later becomes a prominent and skilled pilot in the film. Blaine

Reaction Paper About Tattoos In Society
On December 29, 2016, I got my first tattoo. Located on my upper thigh, it was a private
message to myself to keep fighting no matter how hard life is. Just this week, on December 4,
2017, I got a second tattoo. This one, more publicly located on my collar bone, was simply a
cluster of snowflakes. Immediately, I was bombarded with the question, Why snowflakes? I couldn
t give a meaningful answer as I could with my first tattoo, so I would simply reply with, I like snow.
This response was not well received, as people could not understand why I would put something
that permanent on my body just because I like it. Social interactions like these are all too common
for tattooed people, and especially so for women. It is these interactions, and those between family
members, employers, and more, that Beverly Yuen Thompson explores in her book. She first dives
into the history of tattoos, explaining how they came to be and why they are, to this day,
stigmatized. She questions how heavily tattooed women interact with others on a daily basis, be it
strangers, friends, or family. Her main point is that tattoos should not be considered any differently
than any other body modifications, such as plastic surgery, and that the public should learn the
proper etiquette to promote harmony between tattooed persons and non tattooed persons. For her
book, Thompson conducted a study consisting of interviewing several heavily tattooed women. She
defines someone as heavily tattooed when

The Princess Bride Life Lessons
How does it feel that a fantasy novel called The Princess Bride is quite educational and full of
life lessons? The book The Princess Bride by William Goldman is somewhat realistic fiction
where characters make irrational decisions. It s a wild storyline with kings, princesses, pirates,
along with giants, wizards, and resurrection. Nifty Lance is an online blogger who came up with a
few life lessons The Princess Bridemay have taught its readers. The Princess Brideteaches its
readers certain lessons like; just because something seems impossible doesn t mean it s not
possible, make the opponent feel good, just because nobody has done it, doesn t mean you can t,
and knowing when to put the team first opposed to yourself first. One lesson portrayed in The
Princess Bride is just because nobody has done it, doesn t mean you can t. This lesson is saying
someone always has to be the first to do something (Lance). In the book, this lesson can be seen
when Fezzik scaled the Cliffs of Insanity. With that the Turk... Show more content on

In this life lesson it is describing how sometimes you have to put the team as a priority rather
than being selfish. This lesson is portrayed in Goldman s novel when Inigo wants to find Count
Rugen, but has to storm the castle, so Westley can find Buttercup. Which leaves us probably
now something over half an hour to get in, steal the girl, but not before I kill Count Rugen
(Goldman 330). A quote like this showcases both sides of the lesson in a way, since Inigo wants
to kill Count Rugen himself, but Inigo knows he has to help steal and rescue Buttercup.
Somewhere this lesson rings true in real life would be in a football game when you want to get
the ball, but you know somebody else will get you more yards. What this means is somebody is
the better option, so you should do what s best for the team at the

The research paper problem that the authors, Von E. Nebbitt, James Herbert Williams, Margaret
Lombe, Henrika McCoy, and Jennifer Stephens are trying to answer are the reasons that affect
African Americans and other minorities that lives in Urban Public Housing. The author s wants to
figure out why minorities are so poorly represented in different data findings like the Census Bureau
and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA). The many methods they employ
to answer their questions are that the authors of this article included surveys and case studies from

was a two story barrack style housing development and was a seventeen story high rise
development. The second development consisted of a two seventeen story high rise building
hosting four hundred and ninety nine units. Altogether, both housing developments had over two
thousand residents living in both buildings. Over ninety percent of the individuals that lived in the
buildings were African Americans, and over sixty percent were under the age of twenty one. The
median income between both housing developments was approximately seventy five hundred
dollars (Philadelphia Housing Authority, 2006). In conclusion, I believe that the researchers were
very successful because they finally had their question answered which was, Are African
Americans represented disproportionately in urban public housing developments? , and in their
findings they realize that they were represented very poorly or not at all in research studies. Yes,
I believe the researchers did find what they were looking for because they realize that minorities

Continuing Professional Development
Both these professions expect the same high standards when it comes to education and training.
Nursing and Social Work both have requirements for continued professional development and
lifelong learning. It is essential that Nurses and Social workers keep a record of their training
throughout their careers.
To be able to remain working and practicing as a nurse or a midwife you must keep your skills
and knowledge up to date through lifelong learning. This requires that nurses complete 450 hours
of registered practice along with 35 hours of learning activities every three years along with the
annual fee of ВЈ100. Medicines, treatments and equipment are continuously changing so it s
important that nurses keep up to date to ensure that patients are getting the best available care. You
must take part in appropriate learning and practice activities that maintain and develop you
competence and performance (NMC, 2008 p6).
Social Worker s must undertake relevant training to maintain and improve your knowledge and
skills and contributing to the learning and development of others (SSSC, 2009 section 6.8). The
requirement of continued learning is fifteen days which can consist of courses, reading

The Story Of Miranda And Miranda s Life
Well Miranda and her mom had a big fight. But first it was a pretty good day. Miranda went out
to the pond and it was hot and sunny out. Then Dan was walking her home when her mom was
out on the driveway. She told Miranda she was going to the gas station to get some gas and she
asked if Dan would like a ride into town. Miranda asked if she could go too and her mom said
yes, and they were also going to pick up Mrs.Nesbitt along the way. There were only two gas
stations in the town that still had gas. The gas was extrmemly high. It was $12 a gallon or $33 for
3 gallons. Which is so stupid. But I bet they re getting their money. They re really taking advantage

Miranda knew they couldn t just cut and join her, because that would cause way too much

troopers were watching mostly. Everyone was excited about getting food, even if they didn t
know what they were getting. To Miranda, it was like Christmas shopping. It started to rain, but
they didn t mind. It was a gentle summertime kind of rain. Dan and Miranda held hands and
giggles and was being all lovey dovey together. When Mrs.Nesbitt finally got into the school they
cheered like a buntch of idiots. Then they cheered again when she came out carrying a bag.
When they finally got in theirselves, they saw other troopers in the school clearly guarding the
bags. Probably so no one would steal them and make a rappage. But everyone was very well
behaved and when they got in the front of the line, they had to show an ID that had their address
on it. Luckily, Miranda and Dan had they re library cards with them. They were each handed a
plastic bag and were told to leave. When they were walking out, they saw troopers telling people
not to get in line, because they were running out. When they found Mrs.Nesbitt just outside the
playground, she told them there was rice and beans and all kinds of goodies in her bag. Miranda
was so excited, she kissed Dan right in front of Mrs.Nesbitt, not that she seemed shocked anyways.

Passenger Pigeon Audubon
Passenger Pigeon , written by John James Audubon, is the author s account of the passenger pigeon,
a bird species prominent in North America until it became extinct. The scientific work begins with a
rich description of the passenger pigeon. After describing the pigeon, Audubon changes topics, as
he begins to discuss a personal story involving the bird. The structure of content in Passenger
Pigeon is a cycle, as Audubon goes from giving factual information to telling about his individual
encounters with the bird. Audubon s story is summarized through his scientific descriptions of the
pigeons and his stories of encounters with the passenger pigeon. This is an important work because
Audubon uses rhetorical appeals to intertwine scientific research with vivid descriptions of the...

Many scientific writers of the 1800s strictly appealed to factual information through logos. By
appealing to logos, writers created representations of their research which could serve as stepping
stones in the next generation of scientific experiments. Audubon also appeals to factual information,
but he also appeals to ethos and pathos. By using multiple rhetorical appeals, he creates a story
which is interesting both in scientific and literary manner. Audubon builds credibility through his
personal stories, as he refers to himself as I, and he refers to the reader in more than one instance.
This credibility allows him to have more freedom describing the passenger pigeon, as the level of
comfort he creates through his informal diction allows him to use ethos effectively. Audubon uses
pathos to appeal to emotion. He creates emotion through his diction, making statements such as,
during the love season (Audubon 1). By appealing to multiple characteristics, Audubon led the way

I have since heard the book and its message described as fascistic, provocative, irresponsible,
unpalatable. This it may well be. Yet I found reading his book to be an amazingly sobering and
dispiriting affair. One can really drink up the spirit of a man in reading his prose, and I fear
Heinlein to be not someone with whom I want to share a beer or be friends. I read later that he was
a career military officer who developed tuberculosis and was invalided out of the fleet to a literary
career. There hangs about this book a severe and cynical air of wounded world weariness, as if life

But what about the heroes of the mind and the spirit? What about those heroes who give
inspiration to fallible persons prone to despair? What about the battle between good and evil
which rages inside everyone of us everyday? The struggle to find meaning in a life worth living?
I would argue they are at least as important to a society worth living in. Who among us in the
dark of a long night has not contemplated suicide? Who will make the argument in Heinlein s
world not to do so? In my opinion, Heinlein s world is one in which I daresay not many people
would like to live where suicide might even be understandable! Our world for all its barbarity,
decadence, hatred, chaos is also one with art, love, and, most importantly, hope. We might live in a
hard cold world where life sucks and then you die, as one hears cynically stated in the streets. But

I dare to hope my descendents will not be hopping around hostile planets in powered suits

How Did Urbanization Change Throughout The 19th Century
The disease environment of a particular area can be shaped by a number of things, some of which
are economic, social, and political shifts in the area. During the 19th century as urbanization and
industrialization grew economic, social, and political changes occurred. While these major shifts
changed the dynamics of cities they also changed the dynamics of disease.
Industrialization and urbanization created a social shift that caused a new working class to emerge
which brought on new health problems, behaviors, and interactions. Many new occupations that
were brought about came with health hazards that affected the workers and the poor. Working
conditions were very unsafe and with different occupations came different ailments. For instance,
chimney sweeps often got scrotal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these changes in hospitals over time were caused by new processes emerging. When
hospitals first became institutions during the 1770 s they were seen in a negative way and they
were seen that way for a while. For example, John Howard did an inspection of Europe s hospitals
around 1780 and described hospitals as hotbeds of infection and said that surgery was known to be
safer at home most likely because hospital gangrene was a concern and led to little to no
operations being performed in hospitals. In addition, the term hospitalism which was coined by
Simpson, a professor of surgery, and was later defined by Erichsen, a surgeon, as a general
morbid condition of the building, or of its atmosphere, productive of disease led to hospitals being
seen negatively. Simpson and Erichsen believed in the destruction of contaminated hospitals.
Likewise, Florence Nightingale, a miasmatist, many hospitals were a gateway to death because of
the terrible smells that they often had. Moreover, hospitals were seen as disorderly and the nurses
had no formal training so the sick were often weary of going to the

Jfk Inaugural Address Speech Analysis
On a day that was filled with sparkling cold snow January 20th, 1961 In Washington D.C
President John F. Kennedy delvers his will know inaugural address speech, to the citizens of both
the world and America at the end of a close and fierce ballot Kennedy persuaded, captivated the
people and he was very successful. Using Pathos, Logos, Ethos and some subtle techniques he
effectively converted millions of people in the USA .by touching their hearts and motivating their
minds.
JFK heavily uses pathos, repetition, and changing sentence structures to deliver an effective speech.
John F. Kennedy touches many American hearts in his speech. In the second paragraph he says
he has sworn before you and Almighty God (p1). The mentioning of God so early in his speech
sets the tone for the rest of his speech. He ends the speech by mentioning God again, Gods work
most truly be our own (p3). Showing America that he is a deeply religious man. Throughout his
speech JFK uses thought provoking words such as freedom, success, and liberty, words that have
become synonymous with the American dream. The constant uses of these words invoke a feeling
of patriotism in most Americans.
JFK uses repetition to demonstrate his points throughout his speech. He constantly reminds the
American people that they are a united and strong country that can make it through anything. He
also mentions that America can solve problems with their enemies using diplomacy several times.
He begins four paragraphs in a row with the same words, Let both sides , to illustrate that he is
willing to work things out with countries America is having problems with. The use of repetition
helps Kennedy to convey his message to his audience. Long, powerful sentences occasionally to
keep the formality of the speech and to convey important messages to his audience. The
interchanging between the simple, short sentences and the long, eloquent sentences keeps the
audience listening and wondering what he is going to say next. John F. Kennedy effective uses
rhetorical devices to successfully convey his ambitions and hopes for America. His use of pathos,
repetition, and variation of sentences helps him to achieve this goal. John F. Kennedy s speech was
very memorable

Strategic Bombing Of The Ussr Essay
Even before the end of the Second World War, the USSR was a very secretive and closed society.
US intelligence had little to no information about Soviet military strength and did not even have
accurate maps of the USSR. The best aerial photographs available to western planners were from
the Luftwaffe and had been captured by the allies at the end of WWII. Outside of these captured
photos, virtually no maps or aerial photography existed of the USSR, especially those areas in the
Urals, Siberia and the Far East. As victory in WWII appeared imminent, the USAAF under
General Hap Arnold commissioned studies to assess the impact of strategic bombing in the war. In
addition to results about strategic bombing, the U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey (USSBS)
concluded that the U.S. should have an intelligence organization capable of knowing the strategic
vulnerabilities, capabilities and intentions of any potential enemy. In spite of the aforementioned
dearth of intelligence on the USSR, very specific information was needed for military and
political leaders to make decisions regarding their strengths, weaknesses, and capabilities.
Additionally, the strategic bomber forces needed a list of verified targets in case conflict with the
USSR broke out. In order to fill the major voids in information the US civilian leaders employed a
bifurcated approach: human intelligence (HUMINT) obtained through agency operatives, and
signals (SIGINT) and imagery (IMINT) intelligence acquired

Bush Speech Ethos
The events that took place in America on September 11, 2001 will have a lasting wound on this
country forever. President George W. Bush s speech, A Great People Has Been Moved to
Defend a Great Nation , gave America something to have hope in. Bush was a republican
president and was the 43rd of the United States and was a very passionate man. Although Bush
had to make some tough decisions that very day, he was a president that made a lasting impact on
America. Throughout Bush s speech, he effectively covered pathos, ethos, and logos. Bush was
very clear in his speech that he wanted to send his sincere thoughts to America. He was specifically
speaking to the American people, but in the bigger picture, he was speaking to America s... Show

Bush uses the appeal of ethos in an effective manner. Bush had prior experience being a governor
in Texas before his presidential experience. He is very clear and confident throughout this entire
speech that the American people will recover from this event. Bush knows how the American
military functions more than any other person out there, and he states, our military is powerful,
and its prepared (Bush, 2001, para. 3). That statement is very bold and it would give any
American the sense of protection they needed to feel during this time. Bush had the experience
to lead this country in a time like 9/11 and he and congress worked together hand in hand to work
powerfully on these attacks (Bush, 2001). Although most of the American people did not know
Bush on a personal level, when he delivered this speech, he made it his top priority to feel a
personal connection with the entire country. Having the title of the President of the United States
gives Bush the credibility he needed to use ethos effectively in the 9/11 speech. Bush successfully
uses logos throughout this speech. Bush is very direct with the statements he uses to prove his
points and to stand firm for America. Bush is very clear that the events that took place on 9/11 will
not have a lasting effect on the American people. He states, we will stand together to win the war
against terrorism (Bush, 2001, para.

The Middle Ages And The Renaissance
The Middle Ages is thought to be a time period of obliviousness by many historians, where
diminutive or no developments took place. The church was the focus of attention, and rather than a
logical outlook of the world, beliefs were concentrated around fallacies; on the other hand, the
resurgence of education and innovations that followed the Middle Agesand was branded as the
Renaissance. There have been disagreements as to whether the Renaissance is actually a isolated
time period, or instead, just a great point of the Middle Ages. The Renaissance was unquestionably
a distinct time period. With the ancient Greek and Roman people as their muse, it led to humanism
views and stimulated man to become talented in multiple areas of life. Therefore, the Renaissance
man, a man who surpassed in many areas, became protuberant. Also, the ideals of the people
altered, and their religious beliefs no longer governed their lives. Developments in all facets of life
effectively enhanced. Thus, numerous aspects led to the modification from the Middle Ages to the
Renaissance, a time period that was indisputably dissimilar from the Middle Ages; and Civic
Humanism became the forefront of this time.
Throughout the Renaissance, notions and theories reformed significantly. Humanism, a vital
portion of the Renaissance, focused on nonspiritual concepts and theories and the significance of
promoting individual s thoughts and morals. This movement depicted stimulation from the early

Sherlock Holmes By Sir Arthur Canon Doyle
Sherlock Holmes is a literary character, created by one of the most popular writers Sir Arthur
Canon Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is the first and the only consulting detective in the fictional
character. He has a partner named John Watson, who sometimes help Sherlock in different ways in
solving the case and is doctor and Holmes personal assistant. Sherlock Holmesis an excellent
detective because of his strengths such as knowledgeable on many esoteric subjects, the power of
observation, and the power of deduction.
Geeta S. Iyengar says, Knowledge has a beginning but no end. I agree with this quote because I
do not think there is anyone in this world who has a knowledge of everything or is perfect. A
person will always find a new idea that he or she is not familiar with in day to day life. We learn
something new every day. It is really worth to strengthen your knowledge on more than one subject.
Especially for the detectives because they will need an abundant knowledge on many subjects to
solve the cases. Sherlock is intelligent, clever, and knowledgeable on many esoteric subjects. For
example, Watson mentions Sherlock s strengths on knowledge in A Study in Scarlet, Politics,
botany, geology, chemistry, anatomy, sensational literature, and British law (26). Knowledge in
those subjects always assists Sherlock in solving a case. Every person should continue to acquire
knowledge because it may help them in the future. It is better to have extra knowledge than not

What Makes A Good Leader
What qualities make a good leader? You can ask a hundred different people, and you will get a
hundred different answers. A good leader is someone who accomplishes the mission, has the
respect of their subordinates, and makes the difficult decisions when needed. For me, I believe that
a great leader needs to have a variety of qualities, but most importantly a sense of fairness, hard
work/care, and common consideration for others. Different experiences throughout my life and
time at West Point have lead me to believe that these three tenants are what are most needed for a
great leader. In terms of a leader s moral character, common consideration has the greatest influence
on the success of a leader, because without common consideration, a... Show more content on

There are numerous occasions at West Point where I have seen individuals dole out unequal shares
of duties or rewards based on their personal feelings towards the recipients. Fairness and
impartiality are fundamental traits in good officers. If a leader singles out an individual for either
unfair rewards or punishments, it signals to the unit that there are other necessary factors needed
other than hard work to get ahead, such as cozying up to the platoon leader to get the good
assignments. Soldiers need to know that assignments or tasks they are assigned are either given
through merit, or are given equally to all soldiers in the unit. Unfair treatment is a quick way for
soldiers to drift away from the task at hand and instead focus on getting into the good graces of the
leader, leaving the unit less cohesive and the mission unaccomplished. I have witness firsthand here
at West Point many unfair decisions that were made solely out of how much someone liked or
hated the person they were dealing with. One such example that comes to mind is when one cadet
was given preferential treatment and allowed to get off morning workouts, while other cadets had
to continue. The physical development staff of my company forces any cadet with an APFT score
of less than 260 to show up to morning workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.
These cadets are given the opportunity to stop attending workouts by scoring above a 270 on a
diagnostic APFT conducted once a month.

With a strong economy, clothing firms expect an increase in demand, as there are no substitutes.
However, in a downfall economy and a price increase by one firm, will driver consumers to a
cheaper firm. ANF has a market share of 3.3% in the retail apparel market and thus, isn t a major
player. Typically in this market, if a firm wants to grow, it must take away market share from its
competitors, therefore, branding is a major driver for revenue.
Due to high level of competition and a steady trend in growth, the specialty apparel industry
experiences same sales growth due to the shift in consumer preference if a firm increases prices.
The Abercrombie Fitch has few strengths compared to competitors. ANF has a strong brand
recognition, which gives it advantage in barriers to entry against new rivals trying to create an
image for themselves. Its international growth, over 1000 stores globally, have helped increase
revenue for the firm. However, the competitive market leaves little room for increasing price
margins. For example, it is understandable for a customer to leave an ANF store and walk into a
competitor store and buy apparel at a cheaper price. As competition grows, companies must spend
more money in marketing to expand market share. ANF has seen tremendous growth, especially in
2005. The industry has seen a growth of 26% in 2005, however, a 2% increase the following year.

Chest Pain Case Studies

6551, N 6 As a provider, one will take care of many females with varying degrees of chest
discomfort. Therefore, one must be able to assess, diagnose, and treat this problem. For the purpose
of this discussion, I will evaluate a patient that presents with chest pain. I will evaluate a case,
consider the signs and symptoms presented by the woman, and develop differential diagnoses for
the issue. I will also evaluate treatment options and education strategies for the patient.
Case Study The case study that I chose is that of a 63 year old African American (AA) woman that

Costochondritis is an inflammatory process that does not usually have a definite cause. However,
mild trauma to the chest wall, overuse of the arms, and a viral respiratory infections are common
causes for costochondritis (WebMD, 2017). The fact that this woman s pain in intermittent varies in

Similarities Between India And Greece
Greece and India were more different, because Greece believed in Humanism and India believed in
spiritualism. Greece believed in what was right in front of them, things they could see rather than
believe in. India believed in something higher, something or someone who created everything that
had happened. Because their differences in beliefs, India and Greecehad a different way they
governed their countries, their beliefs and religions, along with the fluidity of their social structures.
Ancient Greece and India had different views on their religions and beliefs. Greece, unlike India,
did not have a specific religion or belief, like the Indians did. Greeks and Indians both believed in
Gods to some extant, however, Greek pictured their gods as humans, and Indians pictured them as
something higher than humans. Greece was not as reliant on religion as India, as they were mostly
based on philosophy. Greece did believe in Gods, but thought of them as humans rather than

The Meanings of Madame Bovary
Madame Bovary is the portrait of a woman trapped in an unsatisfactory marriage in a prosaic

The challenge today s readers are left with is how to make sense of Emma s story.
A common interpretation of the novel maintains that Emma Bovary s downfall is due to the fact
that she is both foolish and romantically inclined. Emma comes to a tragic end because she has
been self dramatizing and impulsive and, above all, because she has believed in the ideals of the
Romantic literature of which she has been an avid consumer since adolescence. This is the view
adopted by many critics who have viewed Emma as mediocre and trite, her dreams shoddy, second
hand and second rate. The literary critic Allen Tate, for example, described Emma as a `silly, sad
and hysterical woman
(quoted in Brombert: 1966, p.84). For further discussion of this reading click on Emma: Victim

Nursing Shortage in the United States
It is no secret that the United States is currently experiencing a shortage of nurses . The U.S.
Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics ( 2009 ) estimated that more than one million new
and replacement nurses will be needed by 2018 to meet the increased demands of the health care
workforce (). The stressful conditions under which nurses work, due in part to the nursing shortage,
are among the risk factors that contribute to nurses abuse of illicit drugs and alcohol. Nurses are
unique in that they work in an environment where they not only have access to controlled
substances, but also are exposed to critically ill patients, traumatic situations, death and dying, the
stress of which can increase the risk of substance abuse. (Epstein, Burns, Conlon, 2010).
Unfortunately, it is the patient that suffers the most. Substance abuse continues to be a serious
health care concern with millions of American 18 and older using illegal drugs. Substance abuse
occurs across all generations, cultures, and occupations, including nursing. About 1 in 10, or 10
15% of all nurses, may be impaired or in recovery from alcohol or drug addiction(Thomas Siela,

person she is. For that, she makes herself feel ashamed. Another allusion that was used by the
author was Picasso. During art class, Mr. Freeman says Picasso. He whispers like a priest.

An Exploration Of Budgeting And Forecasting
Summary
This paper will be an exploration of budgeting and forecasting and how they are determined and
why they need to be re evaluated at the organization I work for. Furthermore, the hope is to uncover
some of the underlining causes that are the drivers that trigger the re evaluations in our organization
as well as discover ways to mitigate those factors.
Background
Like any other business we need to lower our costs, we apparently have difficulties creating a
realistic budget, at least initially, and also have great difficulties with accurately forecasting. Are
budgeting problems for new products could be due to the fact that prospective costs on new
parts take a while to get properly entered into the system, combine that fact with a 12 month
projection, times the number of parts missing cost information from our budget document and
there will be quite a difference in actual costs at the end. By using a bill of materials for as a guide
for new products, items with over $5 per item actually cost difference can be off by as much as
80% overall.
We are not any better at forecasting or predicting are sales revenue. It is not as conservative as it
should be, we may be taking only the optimistic view or we do not have a good understanding of
our place it the market. I m not sure what s driving it. However, I do not know that we buy

These also help the readers get the answers to the five what? who? why? when? where?
questions. Throughout the play, the tone is mostly comical, but also depressing when John Polk
and Ashbe describe their background problems, and that helps make the play become more
interesting and entertaining to the readers or audience. The language that is also used helps the
readers learn more about what is happening in the play as well as why things are the way they
are. Furthermore, the setting of this play, both the social and physical environment, is very
important especially in Am I Blue. Stuart Spencer states that like the tools of structure, it can be
invisible, or at least unobtrusive, [but the playwright] can use [the setting] as a means to help give
the play structure (Spencer 268). The social or time setting through out this play is during the fall
of 1968 when the war in Vietnam was still taking place and many people who were experiencing
depression kept on increasing in numbers all across the nation, too. Likewise, this time of year
affects both John Polk and Ashbe because the atmosphere mostly throughout the nation was not
enjoyable and there was a lot of historical and political chaos at the time of the play such as the war

Corruption Of Society In Wag The Dog, By George Orwell And...
George Orwell, the author of Animal Farm and Barry Levinson director of the Cinematic
production Wag the Dog both explore in their texts the corruption of society. With in the texts both
authors key ideas are explored to exposing Corruption and to highlight how powers use
manipulation and half truths to gain and retain control. To make their ideas prudent to the audience,
Orwell and Levinson make use of various literary and filmic techniques, most prominent of these in
both texts is the use of Irony. These texts influence the audience directly to consider the potential
folly of human forms of governance, which is timely to society in our day.
Both Orwell and Levinson explore the ways in which social ideals are corrupted for personal
power. Orwell depicts Animal farm s fall into corruption through the narrativeperspective of the
working animals where as Levinson exposes the already set corruption through a narrative
perspective of The Fixers. In Orwell s text he explores the corruption of the animals ideals of
Animalism, similarly Levinson depicts a country s corruption of the ideals of truth. Animalism,
fundamentally corrupted in the situational corruption of the Old Major s to the final words of the
text. Old Major s words in the first chapter clearly explain that in fighting against man they must
not come to resemble him , by the final the lines of the book this has been wholly corrupted when

Existentialism, Nihilism, And Objectivism
From the beginning of time people have pondered existence and what it means to truly Be ,
indeed the most important questions that one can ask are those of a metaphysical nature. The
deeper questions that seek to explain the reason we re here in the first place, if for any reason at
all. It s easy to get lost in the many differing theories proposed from Determinism to Rationalism to
Solipsism to Absurdismthe possible theories one can ascribe as correct are endless. But the ones that
try to answer those big questions in the most general of terms are the ones that seem to hold the
most verisimilitude. Existentialism, Nihilism, and Objectivism are the most general, and although
quite different they are also quite similar. But existentialism seems to be the one which offers the
most hope for optimism or any concern for altruism and personal growth.
To begin with it should be taken into consideration the circumstances in which humanity found
itself in when these sort philosophical musings of ontology became so prevalent among the society
of thinkers and intellectuals. With the turbulence and constant change of the late 19th and 20th
century it only makes sense that people would begin to wonder what it all really means. With wars,
genocide, and poverty contrasted against the unprecedented industrial and technological advances
of the time not to mention the exponential growth in some populations, it became easier and easier
to lose one s identity as the world begins to

Catholic Church Research Paper
The religion I decided to research is the Roman Catholic Church, because it is one that I ve
always wanted to familiarize myself with more because many of my friends are Catholics and I
was raised in a Christian family which I ve heard is very similar to Catholicism. I have been to
church with friends in the past before, but have never really taken the time to research and study
the history behind this religion. My field study took place in two different Catholic churches: Holy
Rosary Church in Hilmar and Our Lady of the Assumption in Turlock. I chose these two mainly
because they were two of the closest churches I have access to and both seem to have a fair amount
of people attending. The Roman Catholic Churchis the largest Christian based... Show more content

In the fourth century Roman Empire, Constantine I issued the Edict of Milan, which marked the
date of the birth of the Church. Also, Christianity was the Roman state religion in the fourth century.
Catholic derives from the Greek and means universal, and all churches that use the title in their
name use it with a historical intent that they claim to be one universal church that was founded by
the God that they worship. Today, the whole Christian church still institutes one holy, Catholic, and
apostolic church in the Nicene Creed. The term Catholic, however, also applies similarly to the
churches within the Catholic Communion that are centered in Rome. The Church of Rome is one
of the oldest Christian communities, tracing its history to the apostles Peter and Paul in the first
century. As the Church of Rome started to develope, it emphasized the central authority and
primacy of the bishop of Rome, who became known as the Pope. By the eleventh century, the
Catholic Church broke with the Byzantine Church of the East over issues of both authority and
doctrine. Particularly in response to this division, several attempts were made to restore union and

The Environmental Causes And Dangers Of Tasmanian Devils
The problem is that the many animals are decreasing due to humans destructing their habit. For
example, Tasmanian devils are endangered is because they are getting tumors that are called
devil facial tumor disease. This is causing their population to decrease as there isn t much they
can do when they have a tumor. Tasmanian Devils are also losing their habitat because the
farmers need more land to grow crops and they live there it s not ideal as then they starve and
can t get what they need to live. Forest land has been cleared over time by humans due to
deforestation as people are chopping down the trees to have more land to grow crops. Land
clearing is the process of removing trees, stumps, brush, stones and other obstacles from an area
as required to increase the size of the crop producing land base of an existing farm or to provide
land for a new farm operation. European settlement has significantly altered Australia s natural
landscape. About 90% of native food in the east has been removed for agriculture, industry,
transport and human habitation. About 50% of Australia s rainforests have been cleared and
Australia covered by forest or woodland has been reduced by more than one third. Around 5%
of Australia s higher plants, 7% of reptiles, 9% of birds, 9% of freshwater fish, 16% of amphibians
and 23% of mammals are listed as Extinct, Endangered or Vulnerable. Over 5 million parrots,
honeyeaters, robins and other land birds are killed each year by land clearing. For

Mrs. Linde s Husband
In society, women have been regarded as, above all else, caregivers; whether this be caregivers
to their children, husband, or families. There are women who thought and continue to think they
are meant to be more than caregivers and strive to do more with their lives. On the other hand,
there are also women who find no problem in tending to their families; it is a task they do with
joy and Mrs. Linde is one of these women. In, A Doll House , by Henrik Ibsen, all that Mrs. Linde
has done for her family; such as sacrificing her life with Krogstad for a more financially stable
man, shows her impeccable family values, which is why no one can call her a gold digger for
trying to reunite with Krogstad her true love. Mrs. Linde admits she is... Show more content on

Linde s decision to return to a domestic lifestyle with Krogstad is furthermore influenced by the
way she was raised rather than a need to extort money from Torvald; women of older generations
tend to be instilled with strict family values that they come to incorporate into their daily lives
once they have a family of their own. Mrs. Linde s attitude towards reuniting with Krogstad and
tending to his family is described when she states, I must have work or I can t bear to live. All
my life... work has been my one great joy (Ibsen 33). Her obvious need for tending to others is
implied to have been instilled into her from her youth. This behavior is common of older women
in society who choose to care for their families or others and is due to the importance placed on
women tending to their families above all else. Author, Nancy Chodorow of Family structure and
feminine personality , explains how Schooling is a pseudo training. It is not meant to interfere
with... [being] feminine and a wife and mother (Chodrow 90), when speaking of how people raise
their daughters. This signifies that while girls are sent to school they are taught it is not the
most important aspect of their life; they are taught to prioritize domestic duties and caring for a
family, just as a wife and mother would. Chodorow s entry supports and reveals that Mrs. Linde
s reunion with Krogstad does not have to do with the financial stability he can provide but with
her genuine care for his family; she sees no issue in caring for his family because it is something
which comes quite naturally to her. This mentality, described by Chodorow and portrayed by
Mrs. Linde and older women in society, is a driving force behind these women s need to be
involved in other people s lives and is what brings them to hold such responsibility in a higher
regards as opposed to other responsibilities. Chodorow also points out that: Girls remained little
women (90), which further supports her notion that

Gender Inequality In A Doll s House
Playwright Henrik Ibsen is often thought of as the founder of realist drama and one of the plays
that belong to Ibsen s realism period is A Doll s House, written in year 1879. This play is not only
remembered because of the impact it had on the society in the Nineteenth century but also because
of its artistic achievements. Isben depicts a female protagonist in his play, who initiates a rebellious
movement by defying her husband and forsaking her duty as a wife and mother to seek out her
individuality. During the time when this play was written, the Nineteenth century, a new literary
style, Symbolism, was developed. It involves looking at insignificant things with a new eye in
order to discover inexplicit ideas and concepts. Throughout the play, Ibsen uses distinctive objects
and their relation with the characters to externalize the presence of falsehood in the society. Using
symbolism, he creates a story in parallel, where unspoken matters such as the notion of male
predominance and the theme of lies and deception are brought to the surface. The cultural
implications and the norms of the society in the Nineteenth century are established in Ibsen s work.
Issues of gender inequality and the notion of feminism become relatively perceivable in A Doll s
House. During that era women had no rightful independence and had... Show more content on

Drugs are a problem of epidemic proportions. They kill and destroy lives. In the 5 years leading
up to the trial of Manual Antonio Noriega, cocaine related deaths increased nationwide by 500
percent, and heroin related deaths in the United States increased 64 percent[4]. Drugs are also a
major cause of infant fatalities and birth defects. A study of 95 children who died before the age
of 5 shows that in three quarters of those cases, at least one of the parent?s abuse drugs. In 1987,
the New York?s Harlem Hospital, one of the few hospitals in New York Sate to keep detailed
figures declared that over 400 babies tested positive for drugs at birth[5]. In addition, it was
estimated that in one day, 5,000 Americans will use cocaine or crack for the very first time and at
least 20 million Americans have already tried cocaine while at least 1 million Americans are addicts.
As a result of statistics such as those presented above, President Reagan declared a ?war on drugs?
in the early 1980?s. In 1983, Congress enacted the Rangel Gilman Hawkins amendment. This
amendment requires the State Department annually to report on the efforts of major drug exporting
countries. In theory, these reports would act to curtail production. If a country fails to make
reasonable efforts at curtailment, the sanction is the loss of economic aid. In March of 1988, the
State Department reported to the President as the act required, however, the report only

The Theme Of Innocence And Innocence In Marigolds By...
A child holds innocence from a young age and does not understand the importance of having
compassion. As a child s innocence gradually fade away due to maturity, he or she transforms into
a compassionate person. In a coming of age short story, Marigolds, Eugenia Collier writes about a
series of events where a young girl, named Lizabeth, develops into a compassionate person.
Lizabeth narrates these events in a flashback that involve the marigolds of her neighbor, Miss
Lottie. Miss Lottie s marigolds were the essence of hope in the midst of the town filled with dust
and dirt. The effect of economic struggles that the townspeople go through causes Lizabeth to
destroy Miss Lottie s marigolds. Throughout the short story, Marigolds, the characterization... Show

Lizabeth does not care about Miss Lottie s feelings until after she destroyed the flowers. In
effect, having Lizabeth destroy the marigolds gives Lizabeth a lesson that would turn her into a
compassionate person. The night that the flowers became destroyed, Lizabeth had heard an
argument between her parents. Significantly, she did not like how her father was being weak
while her mother was being strong. Then, to let all her emotions out, she went to Miss Lottie s
house to destroy the marigolds. After her deed, Lizabeth calms down and realizes Miss Lottie
saw the mess. This moment was when Lizabeth realizes her destruction on the marigolds. The
moment she saw Miss Lottie and her expression of the mess, Lizabeth comes to a realization of
why Miss Lottie planted marigolds. Thinking back on her past, Lizabeth said Yet, there are
times when the image of those passionate yellow mounds return with a painful poignancy. For
one does not have to be ignorant and poor to find that one s life is barrens the dusty yards of one
s town. And I too have planted marigolds (30). Every time she remembers the marigolds and how
they look she describes them as, the images of those passionate yellow mounds return with a
painful poignancy. The passionate yellow mounds is the description of marigolds and every time
she remembers them, she has a painful poignancy which can be indicated that the marigolds
represent the lesson she has learned and her experience to becoming a compassionate person. The
end sentence of the quote And I too have planted marigolds is the overall lesson that Lizabeth
learns from her experience that made her a compassionate person. Lizabeth learns why Miss Lottie
had planted her marigolds, but as a lesson, she realizes the meaning behind this. As a result of

Arabia.
There are two basic types of sentences in Hijazi Arabic, the nominal sentence which starts with a
noun, and the verbal sentence which starts with a verb (Mohammad, 2000: 2). As in:

Essay on Zero Tolerance Policy of Education in America
Zero Tolerance Policy of Education in America In Bedford, Texas, a 16 year old honor student
was expelled after a security guard noticed a kitchen knife on the floor of the student s car. The
knife apparently had fallen unnoticed as the student carted some of his grandmother s possessions
to Goodwill. He was ordered to spend a year in a juvenile justice educationprogram and banished
from district property and school sponsored activities. [...] In Deer Lakes, Pennsylvania, a

If a student was a relatively good kid with no past disciplinary actions taken against him or her, they
were much more likely to have a punishment that actually taught them something, rather than
creating a sense of resentment towards the school authorities, and the system in general. Before the
era of zero tolerance, a kid with a great future ahead could not screw it all up by making one simple
mistake.
The line that zero tolerance crosses is one of intent. Zero tolerance looks only at the offense that has
been made, not at the circumstances that brought it about. If someone with no intent of doing
something unlawful accidentally commits a crime, they are punished equally with one who
deliberately inflicts harm.
So how did zero tolerance laws come about? When major incidences of school disruption, like the
Columbine shooting, started occurring, school officials decided they needed to start cracking
down on discipline. After realizing certain things were starting to get out of hand, the federal
government made it mandatory for, [...] a zero tolerance policy toward the possession of illegal
drugs and weapons on school grounds, (Copenhaver 1).
In the beginning days of zero tolerance, the laws truly did focus on behavior that could be deemed
dangerous and criminal, and required a mandatory expulsion for

The Core Essence Of Servant Leadership From A Biblical...
As a Doctoral candidate and a Singles Adult Ministry leader, I believe it is vitally important to
understand the tasks and challenges, in becoming an effective leader in ministry and our society
today. Therefore, this research paper will attempt to articulate the core essence of Servant
Leadership from a Biblical perspective, which might be able to provide practical, theological, and
hermeneutical insights in order to develop leadershipcompetency and a healthy prosperous ministry,
as oppose to the current secular leadership myths and fascination in our church, culture and society.
Admittedly, over the years I have always admired and strived to adopt a servant leader attitude in
all my endeavors. Equally, the paper will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, author Wade Berry, in an article with reference to Paul s practice of leadership, describes
it as:
Leadership is understood here not as dealing with how a particular leader understands and
develops the organizational structure of her or his group, but as how a leader interacts with the
members of the group in order to get individuals within the group as a whole to adopt certain
values, goals, practices, or behaviors. This is a beautiful reflection of leadership, which provides
us with a basic foundational framework. On that basis, when I reflect on the term Servant Leader
, from a hermeneutical perspective, it would appear to be a paradox, from my own conceptual
understanding of the language. For instance, when we think of a servant, we often envision
someone serving others. Likewise, we perceive a leader as the one who is influential, powerful
and has authority. Paradoxically, the two words together seem to contradict each other, but also
serve as a prophetic concept to emphasize the core essence of Jesus and Paul s leadership model. In
reality, the term servant leader is a model that reflects trust, communication, integrity, sacrifice,
humiliation, selflessness and the ethical use of power. The servant leadership model by its own
nature has traits as well as, learned skills, which

  • 2. Fort Lauderdale s Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeon Fort Lauderdale s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. John Michael Thomassen can use chin implants to increase the size of the chin or he can reduce the size and/or projection of a patient s chin with a chin reduction surgery. With both of these procedures, Dr. Thomassen provides his patients with a natural looking chin that is more proportionate to his or her other facial features. The Chin Plays an Important Role in the Proportions of the Face The chin greatly affects the overall appearance of the face; furthermore, the chin also plays an important role in the way the patient s facial profile looks. For example, a chin that is proportionately too small for the other features of the face can cause the size of the nose and forehead to be exaggerated. Dr. John Michael Thomassen offers chin augmentationprocedures with and without chin implants to the men and women of Fort Lauderdale, and its surrounding communities. Chin Implants Are Used in Fort Lauderdale to Address a Weak Chin Dr. Thomassen frequently performs chin augmentation procedures using chin implants to correct a chin that is lacking adequate projection. This chin characteristic is referred to as a weak chin. When a patient has a weak chin, his or her nose and forehead appear larger than they truly are. Chin Implant Surgery Can Be Combined with Other Plastic Surgery Procedures Just as with nose reshaping surgery, a chin augmentation procedure with a chin implant can make significant changes to ... • 4. How to Learn How to Play Dominoes How to Learn How to Play Dominoes Ask your dad if he wants to play dominoes. You have seen the case on his mantle for years and have never had the courage to talk about it. He might actually be real competition. He agrees. Sit down at his small glass coffee table, you on the floor and him on the couch. Okay, so first you have to shuffle the dominoes like this, he says and proceeds to demonstrate while you watch. Well, this is awkward. Quickly, school your face into a mask of attentiveness. You know how to play dominoes and, as you ll soon come to know, you know even better than him; you have even beaten your mom a few times and your sister more times than you can count, but he assumes you don t. You want to ask if he really thinks you don t know how to play. You think, haven t you met my momma? You were married to her (you know this because you ve seen the wedding pictures, and remember distinctively the one of them kissing it felt wrong and you have never been brave enough to examine that feeling); you really think I don t know how to play dominoes? But you decide against it . Your Mother, as he calls her, has always been a touchy subject with your dad. You ve never actually seen the two of them speak, but every time she must be mentioned he frowns and his voice takes on this crafted, neutral tone that never is quite so neutral. You ve often wondered about this tone (even went so far as to ask your sister about it once. Don t worry about it, she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Essay On The Movie Flyboys This war won t ever be won by either side. Someday it ll just end is a quote used from Tony Bill s movie, Flyboys . Even though The United States President, Woodrow Wilson, used every effort to keep America out of the war, some Americans enlisted in the armies of the allies to fight instead of his efforts. Flyboys stars James Franco as Blaine Rawlings, Scott Hazell as Cinema Usher, Mac McDonald as Sheriff Detweiller, and Philip Winchester as William Jensen. Flyboys was awarded two gold medals of excellence for Best Impact of Music in a Feature Film Director s Choice and Best Impact of Music in a Feature Film Audience Choice (IMDb). The film was releases in 2006 and was only received well in the first week by, grossing $6,004,219 from 2,033 theaters , but received very little gross after that week (IMBd). Hollywood movies have a knack and a history of showing historic events, people, and timelines to the audience as more of entrainment, rather than keeping them consistent with history. The film, Flyboys was not immune to this knack of Hollywood, but the film still has some historical accuracy. Much of the historical inaccuracies are seen in the addition of the classical storybook plot and the addition of romance, and even the personnel of the Layfette Escadrille. There are however, some historical accurate aspects that the film used, but were mostly apart of the background rather than a main focal point. The film has many strengths in depicting historical accuracies that happened in World War one, but are largely suppressed by the addition of drama, romance, and factors for an entertaining story. Flyboys follows the story of a few American young men that want to help fight in the Great War. In the year nineteen seventeen, the United States had still excluded itself from World War one, but it did not stop these soon to be American pilots. These young and brave Americans go on to join the Layfette Escadrille. The Layfette Escadrille was a French division of aviators that was made up of mostly Americans during World War one (Guttman). The main character that the film follows is a Texan named Blaine Rawlings who later becomes a prominent and skilled pilot in the film. Blaine s family ranch was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Reaction Paper About Tattoos In Society On December 29, 2016, I got my first tattoo. Located on my upper thigh, it was a private message to myself to keep fighting no matter how hard life is. Just this week, on December 4, 2017, I got a second tattoo. This one, more publicly located on my collar bone, was simply a cluster of snowflakes. Immediately, I was bombarded with the question, Why snowflakes? I couldn t give a meaningful answer as I could with my first tattoo, so I would simply reply with, I like snow. This response was not well received, as people could not understand why I would put something that permanent on my body just because I like it. Social interactions like these are all too common for tattooed people, and especially so for women. It is these interactions, and those between family members, employers, and more, that Beverly Yuen Thompson explores in her book. She first dives into the history of tattoos, explaining how they came to be and why they are, to this day, stigmatized. She questions how heavily tattooed women interact with others on a daily basis, be it strangers, friends, or family. Her main point is that tattoos should not be considered any differently than any other body modifications, such as plastic surgery, and that the public should learn the proper etiquette to promote harmony between tattooed persons and non tattooed persons. For her book, Thompson conducted a study consisting of interviewing several heavily tattooed women. She defines someone as heavily tattooed when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Princess Bride Life Lessons How does it feel that a fantasy novel called The Princess Bride is quite educational and full of life lessons? The book The Princess Bride by William Goldman is somewhat realistic fiction where characters make irrational decisions. It s a wild storyline with kings, princesses, pirates, along with giants, wizards, and resurrection. Nifty Lance is an online blogger who came up with a few life lessons The Princess Bridemay have taught its readers. The Princess Brideteaches its readers certain lessons like; just because something seems impossible doesn t mean it s not possible, make the opponent feel good, just because nobody has done it, doesn t mean you can t, and knowing when to put the team first opposed to yourself first. One lesson portrayed in The Princess Bride is just because nobody has done it, doesn t mean you can t. This lesson is saying someone always has to be the first to do something (Lance). In the book, this lesson can be seen when Fezzik scaled the Cliffs of Insanity. With that the Turk... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this life lesson it is describing how sometimes you have to put the team as a priority rather than being selfish. This lesson is portrayed in Goldman s novel when Inigo wants to find Count Rugen, but has to storm the castle, so Westley can find Buttercup. Which leaves us probably now something over half an hour to get in, steal the girl, but not before I kill Count Rugen (Goldman 330). A quote like this showcases both sides of the lesson in a way, since Inigo wants to kill Count Rugen himself, but Inigo knows he has to help steal and rescue Buttercup. Somewhere this lesson rings true in real life would be in a football game when you want to get the ball, but you know somebody else will get you more yards. What this means is somebody is the better option, so you should do what s best for the team at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The author s wants to figure out why minorities are so poorly represented in different data findings like the Census Bureau and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA). Over ninety percent of the individuals that lived in the buildings were African Americans, and over sixty percent were under the age of twenty one. The median income between both housing developments was approximately seventy five hundred dollars (Philadelphia Housing Authority, 2006). In conclusion, I believe that the researchers were very successful because they finally had their question answered which was, Are African Americans represented disproportionately in urban public housing developments? , and in their findings they realize that they were represented very poorly or not at all in research studies. Yes, I believe the researchers did find what they were looking for because they realize that minorities don t have a say so and they are now aware of the living conditions and financial situations that certain people are ... Nursing and Social Work both have requirements for continued professional development and lifelong learning. It is essential that Nurses and Social workers keep a record of their training throughout their careers. To be able to remain working and practicing as a nurse or a midwife you must keep your skills and knowledge up to date through lifelong learning. This requires that nurses complete 450 hours of registered practice along with 35 hours of learning activities every three years along with the annual fee of ВЈ100. Medicines, treatments and equipment are continuously changing so it s important that nurses keep up to date to ensure that patients are getting the best available care. Then Dan was walking her home when her mom was out on the driveway. She told Miranda she was going to the gas station to get some gas and she asked if Dan would like a ride into town. The scientific work begins with a rich description of the passenger pigeon. After describing the pigeon, Audubon changes topics, as he begins to discuss a personal story involving the bird. The structure of content in Passenger Pigeon is a cycle, as Audubon goes from giving factual information to telling about his individual encounters with the bird. By appealing to logos, writers created representations of their research which could serve as stepping stones in the next generation of scientific experiments. By using multiple rhetorical appeals, he creates a story which is interesting both in scientific and literary manner. Audubon builds credibility through his personal stories, as he refers to himself as I, and he refers to the reader in more than one instance. During the 19th century as urbanization and industrialization grew economic, social, and political changes occurred. While these major shifts changed the dynamics of cities they also changed the dynamics of disease. Industrialization and urbanization created a social shift that caused a new working class to emerge which brought on new health problems, behaviors, and interactions. • 19. Strategic Bombing Of The Ussr Essay Even before the end of the Second World War, the USSR was a very secretive and closed society. US intelligence had little to no information about Soviet military strength and did not even have accurate maps of the USSR. The best aerial photographs available to western planners were from the Luftwaffe and had been captured by the allies at the end of WWII. Outside of these captured photos, virtually no maps or aerial photography existed of the USSR, especially those areas in the Urals, Siberia and the Far East. As victory in WWII appeared imminent, the USAAF under General Hap Arnold commissioned studies to assess the impact of strategic bombing in the war. In addition to results about strategic bombing, the U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey (USSBS) concluded that the U.S. should have an intelligence organization capable of knowing the strategic vulnerabilities, capabilities and intentions of any potential enemy. In spite of the aforementioned dearth of intelligence on the USSR, very specific information was needed for military and political leaders to make decisions regarding their strengths, weaknesses, and capabilities. Additionally, the strategic bomber forces needed a list of verified targets in case conflict with the USSR broke out. In order to fill the major voids in information the US civilian leaders employed a bifurcated approach: human intelligence (HUMINT) obtained through agency operatives, and signals (SIGINT) and imagery (IMINT) intelligence acquired ... • 23. The Middle Ages And The Renaissance The Middle Ages is thought to be a time period of obliviousness by many historians, where diminutive or no developments took place. The church was the focus of attention, and rather than a logical outlook of the world, beliefs were concentrated around fallacies; on the other hand, the resurgence of education and innovations that followed the Middle Agesand was branded as the Renaissance. There have been disagreements as to whether the Renaissance is actually a isolated time period, or instead, just a great point of the Middle Ages. The Renaissance was unquestionably a distinct time period. With the ancient Greek and Roman people as their muse, it led to humanism views and stimulated man to become talented in multiple areas of life. Therefore, the Renaissance man, a man who surpassed in many areas, became protuberant. Also, the ideals of the people altered, and their religious beliefs no longer governed their lives. Developments in all facets of life effectively enhanced. Thus, numerous aspects led to the modification from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, a time period that was indisputably dissimilar from the Middle Ages; and Civic Humanism became the forefront of this time. A good leader is someone who accomplishes the mission, has the respect of their subordinates, and makes the difficult decisions when needed. For me, I believe that a great leader needs to have a variety of qualities, but most importantly a sense of fairness, hard work/care, and common consideration for others. Different experiences throughout my life and time at West Point have lead me to believe that these three tenants are what are most needed for a great leader. There are numerous occasions at West Point where I have seen individuals dole out unequal shares of duties or rewards based on their personal feelings towards the recipients. Fairness and impartiality are fundamental traits in good officers. If a leader singles out an individual for either unfair rewards or punishments, it signals to the unit that there are other necessary factors needed other than hard work to get ahead, such as cozying up to the platoon leader to get the good assignments. Soldiers need to know that assignments or tasks they are assigned are either given through merit, or are given equally to all soldiers in the unit. Unfair treatment is a quick way for soldiers to drift away from the task at hand and instead focus on getting into the good graces of the leader, leaving the unit less cohesive and the mission unaccomplished. I have witness firsthand here at West Point many unfair decisions that were made solely out of how much someone liked or hated the person they were dealing with. One such example that comes to mind is when one cadet was given preferential treatment and allowed to get off morning workouts, while other cadets had to continue. • 33. The Meanings of Madame Bovary Essay The Meanings of Madame Bovary Madame Bovary is the portrait of a woman trapped in an unsatisfactory marriage in a prosaic bourgeois town. Her attempts to escape the monotony of her life through adulterous liaisons with other men are ultimately thwarted by the reality that the men she has chosen are shallow and self centered and that she has overstretched herself financially. In despair, Emma resolves her predicament by taking her own life. What should we make of this rather slight story, initially based on the life of a real woman who, like Emma, scandalized her village with her affairs with other men and her extravagant lifestyle? Is there a lesson or a moral to be drawn from Emma s folly and the tragedy of her death? Part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The challenge today s readers are left with is how to make sense of Emma s story. A common interpretation of the novel maintains that Emma Bovary s downfall is due to the fact that she is both foolish and romantically inclined. Emma comes to a tragic end because she has been self dramatizing and impulsive and, above all, because she has believed in the ideals of the Romantic literature of which she has been an avid consumer since adolescence. This is the view adopted by many critics who have viewed Emma as mediocre and trite, her dreams shoddy, second hand and second rate. The literary critic Allen Tate, for example, described Emma as a `silly, sad and hysterical woman (quoted in Brombert: 1966, p.84). For further discussion of this reading click on Emma: Victim of her own Romanticism. Another view holds that Emma is an essentially tragic figure, a figure of epic proportions whose ideals are thwarted by a petty and money grabbing society. The poet and critic Charles Baudelaire, however, saw Emma as a heroic creation and described her as `trГЁs sublime dans son espГЁce, dans son petit milieu et en face de son petit horizon (Baudelaire: 1976, p.83). The U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics ( 2009 ) estimated that more than one million new and replacement nurses will be needed by 2018 to meet the increased demands of the health care workforce (). The stressful conditions under which nurses work, due in part to the nursing shortage, are among the risk factors that contribute to nurses abuse of illicit drugs and alcohol. Nurses are unique in that they work in an environment where they not only have access to controlled substances, but also are exposed to critically ill patients, traumatic situations, death and dying, the stress of which can increase the risk of substance abuse. (Epstein, Burns, Conlon, 2010). Unfortunately, it is the patient that suffers the most. Substance abuse continues to be a serious health care concern with millions of American 18 and older using illegal drugs. Substance abuse occurs across all generations, cultures, and occupations, including nursing. Furthermore, the hope is to uncover some of the underlining causes that are the drivers that trigger the re evaluations in our organization as well as discover ways to mitigate those factors. Background Like any other business we need to lower our costs, we apparently have difficulties creating a realistic budget, at least initially, and also have great difficulties with accurately forecasting. On the other hand, there are also women who find no problem in tending to their families; it is a task they do with joy and Mrs. Linde is one of these women. In, A Doll House , by Henrik Ibsen, all that Mrs. Linde has done for her family; such as sacrificing her life with Krogstad for a more financially stable man, shows her impeccable family values, which is why no one can call her a gold digger for trying to reunite with Krogstad her true love. Linde s decision to return to a domestic lifestyle with Krogstad is furthermore influenced by the way she was raised rather than a need to extort money from Torvald; women of older generations tend to be instilled with strict family values that they come to incorporate into their daily lives once they have a family of their own. Mrs. Linde s attitude towards reuniting with Krogstad and tending to his family is described when she states, I must have work or I can t bear to live. All my life... work has been my one great joy (Ibsen 33). Her obvious need for tending to others is implied to have been instilled into her from her youth. This behavior is common of older women in society who choose to care for their families or others and is due to the importance placed on women tending to their families above all else. Author, Nancy Chodorow of Family structure and feminine personality , explains how Schooling is a pseudo training. It is not meant to interfere with... Chodorow s entry supports and reveals that Mrs. Linde s reunion with Krogstad does not have to do with the financial stability he can provide but with her genuine care for his family; she sees no issue in caring for his family because it is something which comes quite naturally to her. This mentality, described by Chodorow and portrayed by Mrs. Linde and older women in society, is a driving force behind these women s need to be involved in other people s lives and is what brings them to hold such responsibility in a higher regards as opposed to other responsibilities. Gender Inequality In A Doll s House Playwright Henrik Ibsen is often thought of as the founder of realist drama and one of the plays that belong to Ibsen s realism period is A Doll s House, written in year 1879. This play is not only remembered because of the impact it had on the society in the Nineteenth century but also because of its artistic achievements. Isben depicts a female protagonist in his play, who initiates a rebellious movement by defying her husband and forsaking her duty as a wife and mother to seek out her individuality. During the time when this play was written, the Nineteenth century, a new literary style, Symbolism, was developed. It involves looking at insignificant things with a new eye in order to discover inexplicit ideas and concepts. Throughout the play, Ibsen uses distinctive objects and their relation with the characters to externalize the presence of falsehood in the society. For one does not have to be ignorant and poor to find that one s life is barrens the dusty yards of one s town. And I too have planted marigolds (30). Every time she remembers the marigolds and how they look she describes them as, the images of those passionate yellow mounds return with a painful poignancy. • 54. Essay on Zero Tolerance Policy of Education in America Zero Tolerance Policy of Education in America In Bedford, Texas, a 16 year old honor student was expelled after a security guard noticed a kitchen knife on the floor of the student s car. The knife apparently had fallen unnoticed as the student carted some of his grandmother s possessions to Goodwill. He was ordered to spend a year in a juvenile justice educationprogram and banished from district property and school sponsored activities. [...] In Deer Lakes, Pennsylvania, a kindergarten student was suspended for bringing a toy axe to school. He was dressed as a firefighter for Halloween. [...] In Thornton, Colorado, a... If a student was a relatively good kid with no past disciplinary actions taken against him or her, they were much more likely to have a punishment that actually taught them something, rather than creating a sense of resentment towards the school authorities, and the system in general. Before the era of zero tolerance, a kid with a great future ahead could not screw it all up by making one simple mistake. The line that zero tolerance crosses is one of intent. Zero tolerance looks only at the offense that has been made, not at the circumstances that brought it about. If someone with no intent of doing something unlawful accidentally commits a crime, they are punished equally with one who deliberately inflicts harm. So how did zero tolerance laws come about? When major incidences of school disruption, like the Columbine shooting, started occurring, school officials decided they needed to start cracking down on discipline. After realizing certain things were starting to get out of hand, the federal government made it mandatory for, [...] a zero tolerance policy toward the possession of illegal drugs and weapons on school grounds, (Copenhaver 1). In the beginning days of zero tolerance, the laws truly did focus on behavior that could be deemed dangerous and criminal, and required a mandatory expulsion for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a Doctoral candidate and a Singles Adult Ministry leader, I believe it is vitally important to understand the tasks and challenges, in becoming an effective leader in ministry and our society today. Therefore, this research paper will attempt to articulate the core essence of Servant Leadership from a Biblical perspective, which might be able to provide practical, theological, and hermeneutical insights in order to develop leadershipcompetency and a healthy prosperous ministry, as oppose to the current secular leadership myths and fascination in our church, culture and society. Admittedly, over the years I have always admired and strived to adopt a servant leader attitude in all my endeavors. Equally, the paper will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, author Wade Berry, in an article with reference to Paul s practice of leadership, describes it as: Leadership is understood here not as dealing with how a particular leader understands and develops the organizational structure of her or his group, but as how a leader interacts with the members of the group in order to get individuals within the group as a whole to adopt certain values, goals, practices, or behaviors. This is a beautiful reflection of leadership, which provides us with a basic foundational framework. On that basis, when I reflect on the term Servant Leader , from a hermeneutical perspective, it would appear to be a paradox, from my own conceptual understanding of the language. For instance, when we think of a servant, we often envision someone serving others. Likewise, we perceive a leader as the one who is influential, powerful and has authority. Paradoxically, the two words together seem to contradict each other, but also serve as a prophetic concept to emphasize the core essence of Jesus and Paul s leadership model. In reality, the term servant leader is a model that reflects trust, communication, integrity, sacrifice, humiliation, selflessness and the ethical use of power. The servant leadership model by its own nature has traits as well as, learned skills, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
