Right Real Estate Attorney
Investing in property is a very important decision in one s life. You are going to invest all your
savings, in some cases a hefty loan, into buying a property that you will cherish for the rest of your
life. You won t want to spend that money buying something that s not worthwhile. Getting cheated is
often possible especially when you are involved with investments. Even if you are not really cheated
with the property, you can always be cheated while signing an agreement or making that buying
decision. You could be asked to agree to clauses that are not legal or, something like that. It is always
good to hire a real estate law firm who would give you the perfect legal advice in such cases. After all
when you are investing a lot of money buying a property, investing a small amount in an attorney is
good idea to protect the legal issues. When hiring a law firm or its attorney, there are some aspects that
you should not ignore. Here s how you select the right real estate attorney for your property related
investment.

Probably when you dealt with a law firm in your last dealing, you made good relations with them.
This would help you in your current dealing as well. But, if not then try to get some good references.
Your neighbour, your relative or, your best friend could have hired a real estate law firm in the past
when selling or buying a property. You can ask them about it and, get a real good deal. Hiring a real
estate law firm from references or past deals makes sense as you get the right attorney. Remember, its
about your property and the legalities of that property. So, you need to make the right choice in

Sesame Street Research Paper
Sesame Street is an educational series for kids that incorporates learning and fun. The characters in
Sesame Street are charming and we have all grown up knowing of the them. Like many other shows
and movies, there s a monster, the Cookie Monster. People are drawn to this character rather than
being afraid. The cookie monster has changed and evolved over the many years of being on television,
he was first seen as a character who loved eating cookies but as the popularity of Sesame Street grew
he began to teach lessons; he is raising awareness to peer pressure and is starting to evolve into the
veggie monster teaching kids about obesity and healthy eating today. On the surface level, when
people hear monsters they think of something very scary, but in many kid education films like

People are drawn to horror films because they are watching something that is not normal . The same is
for kids, they are drawn to the Cookie Monster, or Sullivan in Monsters, Inc because these are the
characters that are breaking the rules or being abnormal. In Charlotte Cole s article, Seven Essential
Elements for Creating Effective Children s Media, she says It is a multistep, multifaceted process that
begins by bringing together experts in the fields of education, child development, and research to work
with producers, writers, artists, and others, to define specific curricular goals and then develop content
designed to meet them. The Cookie Monster was created to teach kids a lesson while being the
abnormal character or even the scary character. Sesame Street changed the role of the Cookie Monster
in many episodes, he began to teach healthy eating and that treats are only sometimes foods
(Hawke,2005). The evolution of this Monster is still changing and adapting to changes in our society

The Goal Setting And Attainment
Unit One Essay
Goal setting and attainment appears to be a straightforward proposal. You simply come up with an
obtainable goal and then you work hard to make it a reality. To begin with I give myself short term
and long term goals to achieve. Before I joined the Army my short term goal was to achieve the rank
of Sergeant (E 5). My next short term goal wasn t to just achieve the next rank of Staff Sergeant (E 6)
I wanted to aim a little higher and make Sergeant First Class (E 7) within eight years, which I did. My
long term goal was to ultimately make it to the rank of Sergeant major (E 9). This goal is going to be
harder to achieve, but I know as long as I work hard I will achieve that goal. Goals are great, but
without follow through these goals will never come to fruition. By breaking down goals into smaller
goals a person will gain confidence and can eventually turn those small term goals in long term goals.
I knew that I could not just jump to Sergeant Major and that s why I set small short term goals to
achieve that rank. What is going to make me successful not only in my career, but also in my everyday
life is accomplishing one short term goal at a time. To obtain a Goal it requires steps or processes to
achieve the desired outcome which, according to Tim Harford, includes failure.
In Tim Harford s book Adapt he accepts that in the path to success don t be afraid to fail in the
process. The consequence of disappointment makes versatility, which is a key

Organ Shortage
Within the past few years, the demand for organs has increased at an alarming rate. This is due mostly
to the fact that diseases and illnesses are becoming more prevalent and are brought on due to a
significant change in American lifestyles. Failing organs can be caused by certain ways of living such
as being a smoker or becoming obese. Many people are in need of a vital organ or know someone who
needs an organ; these people are greatly impacted by a decision involving organ donation. Vital
organs, such as the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, and liver are involved, which means these people are
in life and death situations. While organ transplants have created a way to give and receive life to
others, the process has actually become controversial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different countries have different systems to organize organ donation. These systems are known as
either opt out or opt in . The United States is currently under an opt in system which basically means
that we assume that everyone does not wish to become an organ donor, unless is it made clear in their
lifetime. An opt out system is one in which we assume that everyone wishes to become an organ donor
after death, otherwise made explicitly known during lifetime. It is proposed that the solution to the
organ shortage crisis in the United states is to adopt the opt out system. This system makes more sense
because if a person is so passionate about not being a donor, they will voice that while they are living.
Our current system does not encourage people to actually take the time to make a decision about being
an organ donor or not. Instead, the system we currently have allows people to stay uninformed about
decisions that could in the end give someone else a shot at living their life. An article written in the
European Journal of Health Law talks about the bill of 2009 that allows presumed consent for organ
donation in European countries. Lisa Cherkassky, Lecturer in Law, includes specifics details written in
the bill such as, if a person during their lifetime has not registered to an objection to his body that after
death, it will be presumed that he [has] consented to such a donation. In the US, we currently must
register to donate, with a system like this, it would be the opposite (registering to not donate).
Cherkassky also includes how the bill seeks to protect people as well when it comes to death, she says
unless two registered medical practitioners have satisfied themselves that the person is dead, no organs
will be allowed to be removed. Adopting a bill with a policy of protection

A Comparison Of Willy Loman And Death Of A Salesman
Arthur Millers Death of a Salesman is considered to be both a playwright s masterpiece, and a
cornerstone contemporary American drama. The subtitles consist of a central private conversation in
two of the acts and a requiem. The play was first introduced in 1949 and begin to strike an immediate
emotional chord with audiences. The work of the play would receive numerous awards, and honors,
including the most important one the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle award.
Both plays ran 742 performances on Broadway. The premiere Death of a Salesman became one of the
most performed and adapted plays in American theatrical history. With much of the Millers family
being attributed to the Miller s facility in the portraying of the universal hopes and fears of the middle

Willy believes that if you can talk the right people into buying something, then you could end up

he would never care for his family and through work was more important than family. I also think that
Willy tries to compare himself to Dave Singleman who was an 84 year old traveling salesman who
made sales in hotel rooms and was well known, and liked. When he died all salesmen, and buyers

Intellectual Property And Creative Commons
Introduction to The Trio: Jasper, Summer and Dak (The Trio) have developed a reality television show
named Stuck . It centres on love, university and the dramas it all encompasses, with two main people
being Rose and Austin. The show will air every Monday night at 8:00pm till 9:00pm. This creative
idea exists with the hope that it will grow largely popular with their target audience, which are
adolescents generally between the ages of 14 and 23. It is my highly important job as manager to
consider different avenues within the creative industries to find the best solution in protection The Trio
s creative property. I will analyse aspects intellectual property and creative commons and report back
to The Trio with what option is best for them in protecting their television show. Intellectual property:
Intellectual property law is that area of law which concerns legal rights associated with creative effort
or commercial reputation and goodwill (Bainbridge, 2006, p. 03). The law exists to discourage others
taking unfair advantage or copying the creative work of another person or group (Bainbridge, 2006). A
country s system of intellectual property rights has set standards to establish a creator s rights, in order
to prevent others from exploiting the economic value of their artistic endeavors, and have actions in
place if the exploitation were to occur (Maskus, 2000). Some rights are there to benefit large
corporations, while others are there to simply prevent unfair use

1914-1945 Women s Roles
Throughout 1914 to 1945, the role of women changed immensely. During the 20th century, the role of
women evolved, from the nurtures and home makers and was expected that their objective in life was
to get married, bare kids and devote their entire life to their husbands. But during World War 2 with
the fast, growing incline of need for soldiers proved that women had to participate in jobs which were

Effects Of Teen Pregnancy On Children s Reproductive System
The United States has the highest rate of unplanned teen pregnancies amongst the most developed
countries in the world. Approximately 750,000 teens will become pregnant this year and with the lack
of resources to terminate those unwanted pregnancies more than ninety two percent of those teens will
become parents before graduating high school. Plan B one step emergency contraception is now
available over the counter as of August 2013 an although there has been a great debate on whether or
not the open availability to teens as young as fifteen will do more harm than good it does seem that the
positives have out weighted the negative since lowering the age restriction and making it available
over the counter. Since talk about raising the age limit back to seventeen with a prescription and
turning it back over to pharmacy counters the controversy has resurfaced. The subject of harm Plan b
may or may not be contributing to women s reproductive system as well as allowing minors to put
themselves at risk without their parents knowledge have been main topics of decision. Plan B one step
has been proven to be safe and effective and has minimized teen pregnancy since being approved in
2013.
Plan B emergency contraception is an oral pill used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. If
used properly, which means as soon as possible up 72 hours of unprotected sex pregnancy is not to be
expected. Starting in the early 1960s emergency contraception was only used in rape victims to

considered specific to women.

Toorak, according to Realestate.com, is by far the most expensive property. Buying a house there will
cost $3 240 000. This is more than double the cost of a house in South Melbourne which is $1 175

willing to spend a lot because the other shops are a longer distance away. This is why the shops
charge, total of all items surveyed, $2101, almost double South Melbourne s prices being $1287.2.
South Melbourne is aiming to cater for a more working class group of people but still quite wealthy
meaning they can put in some beauty and expensive stores such as Elmas Jewelers, Eyelash Extension
Specialist and Choices Café. Footscray however only cost a total of all items surveyed, $328.3. This is
because every store there is for functionality and essentials rather than luxurious stores like Toorak

Effects Of War In America
Costs of War in America
Has there ever been a time where a nation is unaffected after a war they were a part of? It is very
unlikely every nation that takes part in a war is effected but may not show it. America is not immune
to these effects but no one really wants to address them or resolve them. And because of that wars
around the world have affected service members, their families and the society in America in many
ways; ignorance of these effects often results in the affected from getting the help they need. The
military member are effected the most due to being the closest to the action. Many of them spending
six months a year every year overseas. One of these types of effects are the physical effects such as
fatigue, stress and jet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most well known of these effects are the economic impacts of wars. During periods of major war,
such as the World Wars, a large number of jobs open up in order to help the war effort. But once the
war is over or has slowed to a minor conflict those jobs are no longer needed and the people working
them are laid off. A solution to this problem is instead of just laying off the workers attempt help them
in transferring to a new job. Another effect is national paranoia and extreme patriotism which is
usually caused by some stories covered on the news. These stories are most likely about a terrorist
attack or news about enemy movements. The solution could be to just tell about the event instead of
over glorifying it. Another problem is that wars help to taint Americans view of other nations and
religions. For example terrorism has put in the heads of a majority of Americans that all Muslims are
terrorists which is not true most Muslims do not condone of the actions of Muslim extremists. A
possible solution is to educate people on the difference between extremists and regular followers of a
faith. Another problem is the love hate relation with the military which became a major occurrence
during the Vietnam War where soldiers returning home would be called baby killers and treated with
disrespect. Most soldiers would refuse to wear their uniforms on their way back home to avoid the
ridicule. The people mainly did this because parts of the Vietnam War were televised and one of the
stories showed soldiers burning down a village but gave no context as to why. Another reason why
there is a love hate relation with the military is because the people do not know what a job in the
military entails. A way to resolve this could be to show more of soldiers helping people and not put the
focus on what the military has done wrong. Then there is the problem of a large amount of

Children in the US start preschool or nursery school at age four or under, kindergarten at five years of

percent of all students participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports, student newspapers,

watching television, listening to music or playing computer games, but many also have after school

An Irrigation Method For Agriculture
Water is primarily irrigated; irrigated water is needed for growing the crops this planet survives and
flourishes off of. There are various methods of irrigation, such as surface irrigation, drip/macro
irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and subsurface irrigation. Surface irrigation involves techniques where
water is simply distributed over the soil surface by gravity. It is also the most common form of
irrigation throughout the world. Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the root of a plant. This is a
very effective method of irrigation because almost no water is lost through runoff or evaporation
(Burt,... Hardy, 2000). However, drip irrigation is rarely used by small scale farmers, who face some
of the worst water shortages, because of the high costs of this particular irrigation system (Burt,...
Eisenhauer, 1997). The selection of an irrigation method for agriculture is dependent on the type of
crop, climate of the area, economics, water quality, energy availability, and multiple other factors
(Burt,... Hardy, 2000). The United States exports about one third of all water it withdrawals in the
form of crops and various other goods. Water s necessity for survival has led to its mismanagement
and thus overuse. Societies around the world are finally beginning to realize that water is very limited
and must be reserved. The Colorado River used to flow 20 mil ac ft to the Gulf of California;
currently, it only flows around 7 mil ac ft and no water reaches the gulf

Quality Improvement Data
Quality improvement data: Using QI instruments to address high readmission rates and medication
errors Keeping track of quality improvement data is essential for all organizations: not simply for for
profit entities, but also for not for profit organizations such as hospitals. Patient readmission rates and
medication errors are serious issues at many healthcare organizations. Using quality improvement
instruments such as a fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram: which can identify many possible causes for an
effect or problem and sorts ideas into useful categories and a Pareto chart, which shows on a bar graph
which factors are more significant can help pinpoint the root causes of chronic problems that seem to
arise from a multitude of factors (Cause analysis tools, 2013, ASQ). The standard benchmark used by
the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) is the 30 day readmission rate. Rates at the 80th
percentile or lower are considered optimal by CMS ¦A hospital s readmission rate is calculated by
dividing the total number of patients readmitted within seven days of discharge by the total number of
hospital discharges. (Readmission rates, 2013, Mayo Clinic). Keeping readmission rates low is
essential for the hospital to demonstrate a commitment to providing quality care at low cost and a high
readmission rate also can result in reduced Medicare reimbursements as well as reflect negatively
upon the hospital s PR when such reports are released (Can hospital

Candle Color Lab
Does the color of a candle affect how quickly it burns?
I always look for candles to burn at dinner parties or to give a soft light into a room, I always felt that
my white candles burned much quicker than those that are colored. I believe that the lighter color
candles will burn quicker than the darker colored candles. During this experiment I plan to compare
the difference in candles and the length of which they burn based on the color of the candle. Does the
color of the candle make it burn at a different rate? To conduct this experiment I picked five different
colored candles that were all the same brand, type, and length. (White, yellow, red, maroon, and a
forest green) I set a timer for one hour and thirty minutes. With the help of friends,

John Forbes Nash Research Paper
John Forbes Nash, was born on June 13, 1928, in Bluefield, West Virginia, a former coal town deep in
the Appalachian mountains. His mother, Virginia, who was also very intelligent, was a former teacher
who had big dreams for her son, she taught him how to read, learn Latin at the age of 4(Nash, 2).
When growing up children are usually really active in playing sports or just playing with toys outside;
however, Nash s parents noticed that he had a great interest in education at a very young age. On
which they started enthusiastically encouraging Nash s education by buying his science books,
coloring books, and being self taught by his mother while his father would work.
In high school Nash s parents, pursued opportunities to supplement his education by making him take
advanced mathematics courses at a local community college called Carnegie Institute of Technology.
Nash was later given a full scholarship for his outstanding performances in mathematics, the George

Who Shot Roger Rabbit Suspense Analysis
It is often thought that surprise and suspense are two elements of film that are reserved to the genres of
action and horror. This, however, couldn t be farther from the truth. Suspense and surprise can be
incorporated into any and all types of film. Even in comedic movies, directors may want to build
tension or catch their audience by surprise. These onscreen techniques can be useful for many
purposes outside of the generic bump in the night scare tactics. Before one can truly begin to
appreciate the use of these two techniques, though, they must understand what they truly are. Surprise
is when the audience is taken unaware, usually when one is shocked. Suspense is defined as anxiety
brought on by partial uncertainty or even knowing, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One purpose of surprises are that they often reveal some major plot point in a dramatic way. For
example, the biggest surprise of the entire movie is used to reveal the crucial whodunit moment.
Within Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, many surprise tactics are used, however, it is this final climactic
reveal that has the largest effect on the audience and their movie experience. It is unveiled that Judge
Doom, the man intent on eradicating Toon Town, is actually a toon, and the toon that killed Eddie s
brother no less! Without this surprise impact, the event in question would not have had much of an
impact. The absence of this plot twist would detract from the movie s overall success, as it would
become much less interesting to watch. Audiences like to be surprised, because the unpredictability of
the plot keeps them invested. Surprises are the perfect cinematic techniques to snap the audience back
into the action. If a movie doesn t keep at least some degree of mystery, and the viewer can see every
event coming, they may leave feeling very unsatisfied and bored. It is for this reason that the film Who
Framed Roger Rabbit? is successful in the sense that the audience is never

over 300 years ( A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINES ).
The Spanish rule on the Philippines was briefly interrupted in 1762, when British troops subsequently

Paris in 1763 helped bring back the Spanish rule and caused the British to leave in 1764. Although the

result, this sparked many rebellions and demands for independence from filipinos throughout the

The philippines eventually became an independent country after several years under the spaniard rule

Osteoporosis In The Body s Skeletal System
The skeleton is a very important part of the body and is separated into two sections: the appendicular
and axial skeleton. The appendicular is any part of the body that attaches to another bone. Those
include but not limited to the legs, arms, and hands. The axial bones are located within the center of
the body like the spine and ribs. Bones in these two regions are classified into different shapes
including long, short, irregular, and flat. Flat bones are found in the skull and ribs. The flat bones in
the human body are flat and thin often curved. Short bones are the same size length wise and width

Osteoporosis is a disease affecting the bones and is found mostly in women. This occurs when one s
body either makes too much bone, makes too little bone, or even both resulting in the bones becoming
weak and breaking easily. This is causes by the bone having larger holes meaning the bones have lost
density or mass and that the structure of one s bone tissue has become abnormal (National
Osteoporosis Foundation 1984). Detecting the disease is done by performing a bone density test. This
diagnoses osteoporosis and help to guess the amount of bone located throughout the body. There is a
lot one can do to prevent this disease or even slow down the growth. It is important to eat a balanced
diet, participate in exercise regularly, and consume foods that are essential to bone health. An
environmental factor that affects the skeletal developments is a disease known as achondroplasia. This
is a rare genetic disorder characterized by an unusually large head (macrocephaly) with a prominent

How Did George Washington Carver Impact The Food Industry
How did George Washington Carver impacted the food industry? Craver was an African American
botanist who was very involved in creating inventions. Carver s best work went into food based

the creation of peanut butter and using this to make up to 300 products. This includes soap, ink, candy,

George Washington Carver had many struggles in his life that had impacted his work ethic and made

Summary Of The Book Of Judges
Women in the book of Judges The Book of Judges talks about ancient Israel, and how they extended
their territory by acquiring lands from the non Israelites. The book narrates how Israelites conquered
and reclaimed their lost land from non Israelites and how they used to turn from God whenever they
are satisfied. But it is written in the Bible that, the guilty are by no means cleared, as Exodus (34:7)
says this is the reason why the Lord used several Kings and Judges like Deborah to help the people of
Israel find their way back to Him. As the book reveals, it is evident that most of the judges were men
(as they were most of the times referred to as Judges). The book talks about a great woman Deborah,
also referred to as the bee , as a key judge in the entire book. This book unveils the importance of
women (through acts and strengths of Deborah (mainly) and other heroic female characters) and their
power to the readers. The Book of Judges narrates six women who are and will always be remembered
by their outstanding and remarkable work. They are, Achsah, Deborah, Jael, Japhthah s daughter,
Delilah and the identity of two of them is not revealed. O Connor (1980) suggests that, The book of
Judges demonstrates this disparity as observed; women assume a vital function in its set up as the
volume s subject is marginalization (278). Women are well known in three major roles, that is, being a
mother, a daughter or a mate. Despite these limited roles, the Book of Judges shows

Book Review Of Thatcher And Thatcherism
The book Thatcher and Thatcherism written by Eric J. Evans, already from its name, gave us a sense
of what about the book is. The book is divided into ten chapters which highlighted the main areas of
Thatcher´s political life and issues that she dealt with. These chapters work as summaries all important
issues and facts.
The first chapter includes the background of political life in 1970´s Britain and it deeply examines the
phenomenon of Thatcherism. Moreover, it serves as overall introduction to whole book and it could be
viewed as a prelude to the following chapter by picturing Thatcher earlier carrier in the Conservative
Party before her Premiership that started after the victory of the Conservative Party in 1979 election.
Through the second chapter, Evans explained the reason of the victory of the Conservative Party and
Thatcher´s success. Evans namely emphasized the Winter of Discontent, which changed political
situation in Britain. Therefore, Thatcher built her political strategy on the promise that her government
would bring revolutionary change in economy. It seems that her campaign based on rhetoric Labour
isn t working was also eagerly accepted by voters.

Party to win the second election. There was no doubt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Rhetorical Analysis Of I Will Fight No More Forever
I Will Fight No More Forever Rhetorical Analysis Did Chief Joseph not want to fight anymore, or did
he physically and mentally lack the strength? In the surrender speech I Will Fight No More Forever,
spoken by Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce (a Native American tribe of the Wallowa Valley in Northwest
Oregon) and translated by Lieutenant Charles Erskine Scott Wood, Chief Joseph talks about how the
rest of the chiefs or generals are dead. He uses the word killed at first, according to Lieutenant Wood s
translation. After he uses killed for the first time, he goes on to use dead and lets us assume everyone
who was dead was killed. This speech was given in the Bears Paw battle on October 5, 1877. He and
his people were being forced to move to a reservation, so in retaliation, he tries to move 800 of his
people 1,100 miles to Canada. He talks about how he wants to look for his children later on, as well.
His tone is sad and dreary, really quite pessimistic. Throughout the text, there were the three appeals:
Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. In the speech, they use some more than others here s how. The appeal of
Ethos is for the reader or listener to trust the writer or speaker based on their ethics; based on their
reputation and presentation. In this speech, the speaker is telling the truth and uses ethos when saying I
am tired of fighting. In that sentence, we can rely on Chief Joseph s credibility and morals to say that
he s telling the truth and to say that the audience trusts

Financial Statements Regarding A Company s Performance...
Final Exam Question 4 According to FASB webpage, revenue is a crucial number to users of financial
statements in assessing a company s performance and prospects. However, revenue recognition
requirements in U.S. GAAP differ from those in IFRS, and both sets of requirements are considered to
be in need of improvements. Accordingly, the FASB and the IASB initiated a joint project to clarify
the principles for recognizing revenue and to develop a common revenue standard for U.S. GAAP and

The current model for revenue recognition focuses on the income statement. In many respects, if the
proposed model is adopted, the new model focuses on control and when goods and services are
transferred to the customer. It appears that the revenue recognition project has the potential to affect
virtually every company s day to day accounting as well as the way business relationships and
contracts with customers are structured. Specifically, for long term construction contracts, revenue
recognition is dependent on customer control of the asset as it is developed or manufactured.
Continuous revenue recognition, such as percentage of completion, would only occur if this control is
present. Otherwise, revenue recognition would be similar to current completed contract methods. For
customer loyalty programs, benefits to customers are performance obligations because the benefits,
often points, are a material right that the customer would not receive without engaging in the purchase
transaction. Thus, revenue would be deferred until the obligations are satisfied. For product
warranties, the amount deferred would then be based on an allocation of revenue instead of costs.
However, under the current model, revenue is recognized and estimated costs to fulfill the warranty
obligation

Should Doctors Be Tried in Consumer Courts
The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that doctors can be sued for medical negligence in consumer
courts set up under India s consumer protection act of 1986. The landmark judgment, delivered last
week, caps the nine year old controversy over whether doctors providing medical services to patients
on payment of fees can be held liable under this act.
Responding to appeals by doctors against earlier judgments by state high courts, the Supreme Court
ruled that patients aggrieved by deficiencies in medical services rendered for payment can claim

Shirley Chisholm Speech
Did you know, before Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama there was Shirley Chisholm. Shirley
Chisholm was an African American female congresswoman who ran for the presidency in 1972, as a
Democrat. When she ran for presidency she didn t run for the blacks or for females, she ran for the
people of America. To be a social game changer implies that an individual must be an impact towards
change and inspire others to change. Shirley Chisholm was an excellent congress person she had a
special insight with words and established herself as an outspoken person was determined for change
early in her 1st term. Her presidential crusade was unexpected historical, and she spoke out her mind
on the equality for the people.

Shirley had her way with words by speeches and speaking out her mind, she wasn t shy to back off,
she spoke for the people because she knew no one else would do it. In the speech Equality Rights For
Women, it says ... There is a calculated system of prejudice that lies unspoken behind that question,
why is it acceptable for women to be secretaries, librarians, and teachers, but totally unacceptable for
them to be managers, administrators, doctors, lawyers, and members of Congress... It has been
observed before, that society for a long time discriminated against another minority, the blacks on the
same basis that they were different and inferior, the happy little homemaker and the contented old
darkey on the plantation were both produced by prejudice... . Shirley Chisholm This means that she
felt `uncomfortable that many people don t accept females and black to do a certain job. In addition,
this also proves that she is forthright when it comes to her speeches. Another example comes from
Listen to a speech from Howard University by Shirley While nothing is easy for the black man in
America, neither is anything impossible. Like old man river, we are moving along and we will
continue to move resolutely until our goal of unequivocal equality is attained. We must not be docile,
we must not be resigned, nor must we be inwardly bitter. We must see

Political Machine History
A political machine is a political organization/group in which an authoritative boss or small group
direct the support of a corps of supporters and businesses (usually campaign workers), who receive
rewards for their efforts. The machine s power is based on the ability of the workers to get out the vote
for their candidates on Election Day. Political machines controlled large groups of immigrants. One by
providing them with housing when they came to the cities , two helping them find food and get a job
and lastly giving them finical help on holidays. (https://www.bing.com/search?q=politcal+machines
FORM=EDGENA) The political machine composed of three components: part bosses or a county
committee, which governed the party, machine and controlled the politicians; election district captains
who mobilized and organized support at the neighborhood level; and party loyalists who supported the
machine with votes and financial support in return for jobs, favors and help provided by bosses and
election district captains. (http://www.socialstudieshelp.com/usra_pol_machines.htm) Political
machines were very common during late 1800s and early 1920s. Immigrants took over American
cities. They were over crowded, living in dirty areas working for low pay in dangerous factories.

The machines were ran by bosses, who in turn had precinct captains, ward captains and district
captains underneath him. They all looked out for the poor immigrants and made sure the voted. Martin
Lomasney, for example was the boss of Boston s Eight Ward and many others like New York s
Tammany Hall, ruled the entire metropolis by the 1860s. (Keene 17.1.4) Political machines retained
power not only by providing services to their components but also by political cartoon of boss William

Maria Montessori Essay
Maria Montessori was considered ahead of her time. She was born in Chiaravalle, in the province of
Ancona, Italy in 1870 to an educated but not wealthy family. Despite her father s wishes and society s
conservative ways at the time, she studied science. She was the first female physician in Italy when
she graduated medical school in 1896. She worked mostly with the poor because she saw vast
potential in them. She was an unselfish person and she traveled Italy speaking of women s rights and
child labor law reforms. Not too long after graduating she was chosen to represent Italy in two
different women s conferences. They were at Berlin in 1896 and also in London in 1900. Maria was
appointed a professor of anthropology at the University of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no set level that all children must follow; they learn when they explore by themselves. This
method leaves children with freedom where they can learn self discipline in a place designed
specifically for their developmental needs. Teachers would have a part in the education of children
though even though 80% of it was up to the children. Teachers are to make sure that children are
presented with the right extent of material at the right time. In other words, if a child is too advanced
for one activity, a teacher would present a new one to fit them, and vice versa. Maria believed if her
methods were applied to public schools the results would be even better than the traditional method
results. Since the government didn t let her, she started to work with poor daycare children. She
doubted that her methods would work under these conditions but she had shocking results. She
discovered if the children were in an orderly place to work, they will respect that and care for it. They
are able to learn longer and better than in an everyday setting. In Montessori preschool, five areas
make up the prepared learning environment. These areas include practical life, the sensorial area,
mathematics, and cultural activities. In the elementary program, areas include integration, presentation
of knowledge, presentation of the formal scientific languages, the use of visual aids, mathematic
curriculum, Montessori trained teachers, emphasis on open ended research and

`` Privilege, Power, And Difference, By Johnson And Robbins
Since the time we are born we are fed the lies of capitalism. We are taught that capitalism hurts no one
and that capitalism is the only way. Johnson and Robbins have some very influential ideas about
capitalism. Johnson writes about the complexity of privilege. He also addresses why some privileged
people do not feel privileged through the matrix of capitalist domination. Robbins gives us a
background on how privilege became what it is today. He addresses the anatomy of the working class
by drawing attention to how they were mobile, divided, powerless, and anxious for a revolution.
Through Johnson and Robbins eyes we can begin to see how the world is not the one we were taught
it was. In Johnson s book, Privilege, Power, and Difference, he writes about the matrix of capitalist
domination, but to really understand the reader must look back to the previous chapter when he writes
about privilege. Johnson asked the reader to list qualities such as gender, race, sexual orientation, and
class. After doing so, Johnson explained that such qualities have one side that receives privilege in
society. These privileges range from having a better schooling to getting a job over someone who does
not have the privileged qualities. The ideal qualities of the ones listed according to society is upper
class, heterosexual, white, and male. This is not to say that all white men feel privileged. In fact, that
is the entire idea of the matrix of capitalist domination. People do not fall

  • 5. The Goal Setting And Attainment Unit One Essay Goal setting and attainment appears to be a straightforward proposal. You simply come up with an obtainable goal and then you work hard to make it a reality. To begin with I give myself short term and long term goals to achieve. Before I joined the Army my short term goal was to achieve the rank of Sergeant (E 5). My next short term goal wasn t to just achieve the next rank of Staff Sergeant (E 6) I wanted to aim a little higher and make Sergeant First Class (E 7) within eight years, which I did. My long term goal was to ultimately make it to the rank of Sergeant major (E 9). This goal is going to be harder to achieve, but I know as long as I work hard I will achieve that goal. Goals are great, but without follow through these goals will never come to fruition. By breaking down goals into smaller goals a person will gain confidence and can eventually turn those small term goals in long term goals. I knew that I could not just jump to Sergeant Major and that s why I set small short term goals to achieve that rank. What is going to make me successful not only in my career, but also in my everyday life is accomplishing one short term goal at a time. To obtain a Goal it requires steps or processes to achieve the desired outcome which, according to Tim Harford, includes failure. This is due mostly to the fact that diseases and illnesses are becoming more prevalent and are brought on due to a significant change in American lifestyles. Many people are in need of a vital organ or know someone who needs an organ; these people are greatly impacted by a decision involving organ donation. Different countries have different systems to organize organ donation. These systems are known as either opt out or opt in . The United States is currently under an opt in system which basically means that we assume that everyone does not wish to become an organ donor, unless is it made clear in their lifetime. An opt out system is one in which we assume that everyone wishes to become an organ donor after death, otherwise made explicitly known during lifetime. It is proposed that the solution to the organ shortage crisis in the United states is to adopt the opt out system. This system makes more sense because if a person is so passionate about not being a donor, they will voice that while they are living. Our current system does not encourage people to actually take the time to make a decision about being an organ donor or not. Instead, the system we currently have allows people to stay uninformed about decisions that could in the end give someone else a shot at living their life. An article written in the European Journal of Health Law talks about the bill of 2009 that allows presumed consent for organ donation in European countries. Lisa Cherkassky, Lecturer in Law, includes specifics details written in the bill such as, if a person during their lifetime has not registered to an objection to his body that after death, it will be presumed that he [has] consented to such a donation. In the US, we currently must register to donate, with a system like this, it would be the opposite (registering to not donate). Cherkassky also includes how the bill seeks to protect people as well when it comes to death, she says unless two registered medical practitioners have satisfied themselves that the person is dead, no organs will be allowed to be removed. But once the war is over or has slowed to a minor conflict those jobs are no longer needed and the people working them are laid off. A solution to this problem is instead of just laying off the workers attempt help them in transferring to a new job. Another effect is national paranoia and extreme patriotism which is usually caused by some stories covered on the news. These stories are most likely about a terrorist attack or news about enemy movements. The solution could be to just tell about the event instead of over glorifying it. Another problem is that wars help to taint Americans view of other nations and religions. For example terrorism has put in the heads of a majority of Americans that all Muslims are terrorists which is not true most Muslims do not condone of the actions of Muslim extremists. A possible solution is to educate people on the difference between extremists and regular followers of a faith. Another problem is the love hate relation with the military which became a major occurrence during the Vietnam War where soldiers returning home would be called baby killers and treated with disrespect. Most soldiers would refuse to wear their uniforms on their way back home to avoid the ridicule. The people mainly did this because parts of the Vietnam War were televised and one of the stories showed soldiers burning down a village but gave no context as to why. Another reason why there is a love hate relation with the military is because the people do not know what a job in the military entails. A way to resolve this could be to show more of soldiers helping people and not put the focus on what the military has done wrong. Then there is the problem of a large amount of ... • 19. An Irrigation Method For Agriculture Water is primarily irrigated; irrigated water is needed for growing the crops this planet survives and flourishes off of. There are various methods of irrigation, such as surface irrigation, drip/macro irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and subsurface irrigation. Surface irrigation involves techniques where water is simply distributed over the soil surface by gravity. It is also the most common form of irrigation throughout the world. Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the root of a plant. This is a very effective method of irrigation because almost no water is lost through runoff or evaporation (Burt,... Hardy, 2000). However, drip irrigation is rarely used by small scale farmers, who face some of the worst water shortages, because of the high costs of this particular irrigation system (Burt,... Eisenhauer, 1997). The selection of an irrigation method for agriculture is dependent on the type of crop, climate of the area, economics, water quality, energy availability, and multiple other factors (Burt,... Hardy, 2000). The United States exports about one third of all water it withdrawals in the form of crops and various other goods. Water s necessity for survival has led to its mismanagement and thus overuse. Societies around the world are finally beginning to realize that water is very limited and must be reserved. During this experiment I plan to compare the difference in candles and the length of which they burn based on the color of the candle. Does the color of the candle make it burn at a different rate? This, however, couldn t be farther from the truth. Suspense and surprise can be incorporated into any and all types of film. Even in comedic movies, directors may want to build tension or catch their audience by surprise. These onscreen techniques can be useful for many purposes outside of the generic bump in the night scare tactics. Before one can truly begin to appreciate the use of these two techniques, though, they must understand what they truly are. Surprise is when the audience is taken unaware, usually when one is shocked. Suspense is defined as anxiety brought on by partial uncertainty or even knowing, or ... For example, the biggest surprise of the entire movie is used to reveal the crucial whodunit moment. It is unveiled that Judge Doom, the man intent on eradicating Toon Town, is actually a toon, and the toon that killed Eddie s brother no less! Without this surprise impact, the event in question would not have had much of an impact. The absence of this plot twist would detract from the movie s overall success, as it would become much less interesting to watch. Audiences like to be surprised, because the unpredictability of the plot keeps them invested. Surprises are the perfect cinematic techniques to snap the audience back into the action. The book narrates how Israelites conquered and reclaimed their lost land from non Israelites and how they used to turn from God whenever they are satisfied. But it is written in the Bible that, the guilty are by no means cleared, as Exodus (34:7) says this is the reason why the Lord used several Kings and Judges like Deborah to help the people of Israel find their way back to Him. As the book reveals, it is evident that most of the judges were men (as they were most of the times referred to as Judges). The book talks about a great woman Deborah, also referred to as the bee , as a key judge in the entire book. This book unveils the importance of women (through acts and strengths of Deborah (mainly) and other heroic female characters) and their power to the readers. The Book of Judges narrates six women who are and will always be remembered by their outstanding and remarkable work. They are, Achsah, Deborah, Jael, Japhthah s daughter, Delilah and the identity of two of them is not revealed. O Connor (1980) suggests that, The book of Judges demonstrates this disparity as observed; women assume a vital function in its set up as the volume s subject is marginalization (278). Specifically, for long term construction contracts, revenue recognition is dependent on customer control of the asset as it is developed or manufactured.
