Ralph White Theory
Moreover while some individuals are totally excluded from society, others, in this case the perpetrators win social acceptance by other peers and this
is perhaps the most important factor, since they receive no warning or reprimand, the contrary of your answer is positive to be recognized and
flattered to other people. These individuals believe in their consciousness about cruel and harmful thoughts to do evil to others, because they know
they will be well accepted in a society that also criticizes. Some people who engage in bullying other individuals do it for self–satisfaction, as they feel
happy to see someone else suffer with what they do, but others do it to fit into a society that also criticizes them and that the only positive factor that

Personal Statement : ' Title Iv Denied '
"Title IV Denied" Wrote bluntly across panther tracks, brought tears to my eyes. All I could I feel is the betrayal and rage I held against my professors
that failed me, the committees that were on the board that made the decision and even my grandpa that stood my way taking of quizzes and test from
his diagnosed. So much hate came from a foolish and hatred young woman that still did not understand that the blame was pointed at the wrong person.
Rather than shift my blame towards the only person that could be held responsible, everyone else was held accountable for my dismal.
Quite honestly my 2015 appeal form was written less than 30 minutes inside of the library, to add more disrespect I walked out of the library
looking at the faces of working students, just to get ready for a party that night. However, I hold Prairie View to a much higher standard to let my
future and education forsake me due to my lack of respect for the committee and my self. For my lack of companionship and even decency to give
you all a bull crap paper that did not even hold any remorse or meaning to it. As a childish teenager transforming into a woman I could not kiss my
education good bye due to my pride, so I know it will be more than worth the oppturnity to give the appeal letter another chance to write my wrongs.
After putting in my application to Prairie View I wondered if I could honestly move so far away from myfamily. The thought of leaving to go as far as
45 minutes to college was

WhatВґs Psychological Manipulation?
Psychological Manipulation Essay Psychological manipulation can affect the lives of many by manipulating their emotions. Finding a way to
psychologically manipulate a person's emotions or their thoughts could be a long and tedious process, and can only be mastered by few people.
For these people who try to manipulate the behaviors of people will stop at nothing and fight hard to attain their goals. Although these people will
stop at nothing to achieve their goal, finding a way to psychologically manipulate someone can be a difficult task. One of the most common ways
to manipulate someone by their emotions or behaviors is the act most often known as lying.Yet there are many ways and reasons for what these
people do, and why they do them. These acts of psychological manipulation can also be shown in the book 1984 by George Orwell. In the book 1984
the government makes laws and then forces their citizens to follow them so that people will be so focused on following the laws just to prevent harsh
penalties if these laws are broken. If one of these laws are broken, the penalties for breaking the law could result in a death sentence too many different
forms of psychological torture. In order to know the truth facts of psychological manipulation, a skilled manipulator must know the vulnerabilities of
their opponents or victims. Psychological manipulation is a type of influence that attempts to change the behavior or perception of others do

The Salvation Army's Oppression Of Gender Stereotypes
Wherever we go in life, we are constantly being bombarded with advertisements. It could be a poster for a new store opening up down the street, or a
pop–up that appears on our computer screens. Maybe, something that we see between breaks in our tv program, or a billboard that we see driving
down the highway. Regardless, of the type they are all around us, drawing our eyes to them, and yanking at our curiosity. However, when immersing
yourself in all these advertisements, have you ever taken a moment to stand back and think about what they are truly conveying. The advertisement
that is a prime example, was posted by the Salvation Army on Twitter, the ad features the words "Why is it hard to see, black and blue". Through this
ad we as individuals are really challenged to step back for a moment, and think about the message that it is trying to illuminate and spread.

nowadays. In another case it can be simply put that this information might be lost on the older generations. The older demographic you try to reach, the
lesser the chance of change becomes. It is smarter to target the younger generations who you can still help to shape and mold, and this is exactly what
the Salvation Army has done. They have understood that while Domestic Violence is still a problem with older generations, their main focus needs to be
the future, leaders, the future adults, who then in turn can teach the future

Psychological Manipulation
Psychological manipulation is a type of social influence that aims to change the behavior or perception of others through abusive, deceptive, or
underhanded tactics by advancing the interests of the manipulator, often at another's expense, such methods could be considered exploitative, abusive,
devious, and deceptive. The process of manipulation involves bringing an unknowing victim under the domination of the manipulator, often using
deception, and using the victim to serve their own purposes. Psychological manipulation can be used by people with great power as well as the
common individual to get people to do what they want.
First let's list all the types of manipulation. 1.Express a desire to serve (show humility, care, love) they will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a psychologically coercive environment, the victim is forced to adapt in a series of small "invisible" steps. Each step is sufficiently small that the
subject does not notice the changes or identify the coercive nature of the process until much later, if ever. These tactics can be reinforced in a group
setting by well–intended, but deceived, "friends and allies" of the victim. (Good–cop/Bad–cop). This keeps the victim from setting up the ego defenses
normally maintained in known adversarial situations. Psychological coercion overcomes the individual's critical thinking abilities and free will – apart
from any appeal to informed judgment. Victims gradually lose their ability to make independent decisions and exercise informed consent. Their
emotional defenses, cognitive processes, values, ideas, attitudes, conduct and ability to reason are undermined, and decisions are no longer through
meaningful free choice, rationality, or the inherent merit or value of the ideas or propositions being presented. Coercive psychological systems violate
our most fundamental concepts of basic human rights. They violate rights of individuals that are guaranteed by many declarations of principle
worldwide. Victims become confused, intimidated and silenced by actions accepted as harmful, such as uncompromising influence, involuntary
servitude, and infliction of emotional distress. The victim becomes compliant and brainwashed, Social and emotional isolation. Induced emotional

Violence Is Preventable And Extremely Imperative For Us Essay
Violence is preventable and extremely imperative for us to detect the early signs of it. We need to take all prevention strategies for an account. For
example, primary, secondary, and tertiary preventions are an appropriate approach for this matter. Dating violence is the topic that is going to be
discussed in this reading. I decided to write about this topic because many people are in the dark when it comes to dating violence, and the
substantial effects of it. Allow me the opportunity to expand your horizon on this particular topic. There have been quite a few cases where women
press charges on their significant other after being battered in unhealthy relationships. I always hear about situations like this through the media
never in real life. It's sad to say that a very close friend of mind was one of those women in a vicious relationship. I thought to myself why would
you continue to stay in an abusive relationship for so long. Some people (victim or perpetrator) believe abuse is normal; they grew up in abusive
homes. Some individuals stay in abusive relationships for financial support. "Violence perpetrated against women by a male intimate partner is 10
times more likely than violence perpetrated against men by a female intimate partner". I would like to learn methods that people can use to prevent a
violent relationship, and if there are any psychological correlation on why people decide to stay in those unhealthy relationships. Bradshaw ,CP.,

A Research Study On The Nature Of Interdependence
It is estimated that 50–60% of American couples experience a violent episode at least once in the span of their relationship. A correlational study done
at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studied the importance of the nature of interdependence in ongoing relationships, using the investment
model to understand decisions to remain in or terminate abusive relationships. Using data obtained from the official files of a shelter for battered
women, they studied three different important variables – satisfaction level (severity and frequency of abuse, abuse history), investment size (marital
status, children, length of relationship), and alternative quality (education and income levels). The shelter staff interviewed women shortly after their
arrival in order to measure their subjective commitment. They also contacted the women after leaving the shelter to check on their safety and
determine whether they had returned to their abusive partners, in order to obtain information relevant to actual behavior. In this study, there were three
different hypotheses that looked at the different variables. Hypothesis 1 predicts that feelings of commitment to an abusive relationship would be
associated with limited or poor–quality alternatives, greater investment of resources in a relationship, and greater satisfaction/lesser dissatisfaction.
Hypothesis 2 predicts that individuals will be more likely to remain with abusive partners to the degree that they feel more strongly committed

Compare And Contrast William Blake And A Cask Of Amontillado
The insightful mind of Mahatma Gandhi once said; "An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind." By attempting to get revenge
every time someone upsets you, the issue is never fully resolved meaning it could resurface and bite back harder the second time. In "A Cask of
Amontillado", by Edward Poe, the author uses irony to show how Fortunato's death was due to Montresor's hatred. Similarly, in the poem "A Poison
Tree", by William Blake, the author uses figurative language to show how the enemy was killed because of the narrator's anger. In both texts, the two
characters were once friends and the enemies are being deceived. Poe and Blake use figurative language and irony to show how hatred and anger can
lead to deception.
In the short story,"A Cask of Amontillado", Poe uses the literary device, irony to reiterate the idea that hateful or angry feelings can lead to deception.
In the story, Montresor (the narrator) is seeking revenge on his work partner (and apparent friend), Fortunato. According to Montresor, Fortunato hurt
and insulted him. While at a party the night that Montresor plans to kill Fortunato, he speaks about how "I was so pleased to see him that I thought I
should never have done wringing his hand" (Poe 6). This is an example of dramatic irony, as the readers know that Montresor is in fact pleased to see
him, but for the reason being that he wants to kill him. Fortunato is oblivious to the fact that Montresor has anything going against him, which

blue had much less of a loss, they slowly began to pick less and less red cards. By the 50th draw they had an idea of what was going on, but it wasn't
until the 80th that they could give a clear explanation of why they were choosing the blue cards. However, it was at the 10th draw that the individuals'...

The Lady Or The Tiger Act Of Jealousy
The Act of Jealousy In "The Lady or the Tiger" by Frank R. Stockton, the princess had to overcome the choices of causing agony to herself by
letting her lover live and marry another woman, or going as far as to letting her lover die by letting him get mauled by the tiger. The princess was
conflicted with mainly two emotions throughout the story, only one of which overcame her at the end. For one reason, the princess really hated the
lady that was behind the door. Her act of jealousy had made her assume that her lover and the lady had a secret affair, as they had made eye contact
with each other. In "The Science of Heartbreak" article by Ashley Cox, the article states that "heartbreak can be caused from disappointment, betrayal,

Being Able To Speak Freely
I believe that being able to speak freely and honestly is not just a right given to us as stated in the first Amendment, but it is a way someone expresses
themselves. It is also a way of communicating with other people and giving them our opinion on certain ideas, topics, or items. If you feel like you
shouldn't speak your mind and let others know of your opinion, then those thoughts and worries you have may just keep piling up to the point where
you will eventually explode. People have the right to speak what they want even if it ends badly like possibly in a fight, but if everyone decided to
not speak their minds then we would not get anywhere as a community in life because we would be too worried about what others would think instead

The North Shore Animal League
I've created a campaign for the North Shore Animal League and it will be based on animal rights. The goal I want my message to achieve is how
it's not acceptable for animals to be abused and abandoned. I've chosen animal rights as my issue because upon growing up in Brooklyn I've
encountered many dogs who were abused by their owners and were able to get away with it which really upset me. Apropaganda campaign is needed
to raise public awareness for the animals that are abused and homeless in hopes of people having a heart and adopting them. The North Shore Animal
League will first discuss animal rights and how animal abuse and homelessness is at an all–time high today among animals. There will also be various
pictures and statistics shown to offer the audience insight on which dog and cat breeds are the most abused and homeless. For example, due to their
small size and temperament with people Chihuahuas are among one of the most abused and homeless dog breeds. The organization will then discuss
their plan to remedy the issue of animal abuse and homelessness by opening up animal shelters in urban areas in Staten Island and Brooklyn to lower
animal abuse and homelessness. These shelters will provide the animal's food, water, and medicine, which are the main necessities for them to survive.
By opening these new shelters, it will ensure the animal's safety and well–being until people are ready to adopt and bring them home. Twitter and

A Student Who Was A Victim Of Theft !
The tearful lament of a student who was a victim of theft!
I am a simple student. One who is not very popular or hails from a very prominent well–to–do family. It was the holidays, and all I wanted was to make
some money. Money to enable me pay–off a debt I owed a friend. Apparently he wanted me to pay him back after the laptop I had borrowed from him
was stolen in my possession. Money to give me the deep satisfaction of helping my family cope with the daily life expenses. Money that would enable
me to purchase trendy clothes so that I could have a satisfying feeling of fitting–in among the youth in my school. They were my dreams and plans. A
fragment of hope clouded me when I secured employment over the school holidays–for I had a chance to make the money I so much yearned.
Now, all that hope remains to be hope, and not fulfilled dreams. My life is a nightmare. I sit down in my room. My eyes wet with tears as I reminisce
on that fateful day. Mixed feelings fill my heart. Is it grief? Is it sorrow? Is it confusion? Is it disappointment? Is it regret? Is it hate? Is it rage? My
answer is 'Yes ' to all the above. The feelings pierce my heart and soul at different rates. Perhaps it was my fate! I try to console myself. However, it
just raises another question: Why did they have to rob me?
The joy I felt as I received an envelope with my salary is inexpressible through words. The joy I felt as I travelled back home can only be compared
to the happiness of the King. Oh my

Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God Analysis
An Analysis of the Sermon, "Sinner in the Hands of an Angry God" In the sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", Edwards displays
controversial viewpoints and ideas concerning heaven and hell. As Edwards speaks to the congregation he warns them of the misery and
suffering they will face if they do not repent of certain sins. He also describes God as angry which probably struck fear into the hearts on many. To
illustrate his own point that hell is unenviable without repentance Jonathan Edwards creates the idea of an angry God using intense similes, a
harsh tone, and strong emotional appeal in "Sinners in the hand of an Angry God". Jonathon Edwards maintains his audience's attention by
creating intense and meaningful similes. Edwards uses these similes as a way for his audience to understand the points he is making and adds
dramatic imagery and piercing words to get the audience to consider what he is saying. The first simile he uses says this, "...they were always
exposed to destruction; as one that stands or walks in slippery places is always exposed to fall" (Edwards 1). Edwards includes this quote in his
sermon to provoke the readers thought. The point he is trying to make is that God's people are exposed to destruction which is a hard to imagine
so he breaks it down for his audience by saying that just as they are exposed to destruction if you walk in a slippery place you will also fall. The
next memorable simile Edwards uses says this, "The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider or some loathsome insect
over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked. His wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else but to be
cast into the fire..." (6). Here Edwards compares his congregation to a "loathsome insect". Edwards does this to try and describe how God views
them. He continues his claim by comparing God's wrath on them burning like fire, which would probably spark fear in the hearts of the people that
they may repent. This simile helped further Edward's main point, that hell is inevitable. One last simile Edwards uses is this, "Your wickedness
makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards

Biological Influences Of Mass Shootings
According to Political Fact, "there have been 273 mass shooting in 2017– one for each day of the year (Pelosi)." In the past the government has used a
strict definition to define a mass murder which states that at least four victims must be killed. Many factors play different roles in committing a
terror attack or mass shooting such as biological, psychological, and social influences. The biological influences consist of natural selection, genetic
predisposition and responding to the environment, brain mechanisms, and hormonal influences. Biologically, some people are born angry and
more depressed than others. People who are depressed usually don't like to see many people happy and having good times with other people. This
could be why many mass shootings occur when people are having a good time like at the festival where Stephen Paddlock killed 59 people and
injured more than 500. Tia Ghose from LiveScience says "killers often exhibit risk factors that are generally tied to criminality: a history of abuse or
ineffective parenting, a tendency to set fires or hurt animals, a sadistic streak, and self–centeredness and a lack of compassion (Ghose)." Many people
respond to the environment in many ways, whether its calmly or violently. In this case it was violently. Psychological influences of a mass shooter are
much deeper than just someone's physical appearance. Emotions can cause people to do vile things or at least what a person may think is right in that
moment.

Six Stages Of Denialing In Hills Like White Elephants By...
In Hills like white elephants we identify six stages of human grief regarding to dying, and loss: denial; isolation; anger; bargaining; depression and

The first thing that comes to mind during the stages of Hill Like White Elephants was denial. There are many significant ways that denial has been
portrayed throughout the novel. When we go further into details about the title of the story is explains it all of what we are expecting "HIlls". The
first thought before I began to read the story was the title I began to realize that this story will have moments it ups, and down. Those ups and
downs lead into a problematic figure of denial between the main antagonist Jig. While reading Novel from start to finish Jig has been denied from
the reality of life. I have come to a conclusion of this when secondly, the American as came has an attachment to her life as her husband. Noticing
further into her life I have seen a lot of negatives, mostly because The American summarizes their relationship together. In the book the girl looks off
the hills of a line of hills and describes how they look like white elephants. In page 182 she says "I've never seen one," the man drinks his beer. This
show the grief of tension and denial, but also an interpretation of a baby coming to life, especially from the man when he drinks the beer. This shows

Positive Features Of Persuasion
Persuasion is said to be the use of signs (messages) to influence its' receivers. http://www.cios.org/encyclopedia/persuasion/Aintroduction_1whatis.htm.
It means that if the persuader wants to obtain the target, he createcreates messages which discourse is influential. By persuasion one is able to change
other peoples' attitudes, behaviors, beliefs and so on. (Bettinghaus and Cody quoted by Perloff, 2003). Idiosyncratic characteristic of persuasion is that
the process seems to have an atmosphere of free will. People meet persuasion in everyday life, one could say in any time. If the company want to sell
some product – they use persuasion to convince the audience that they need this particular one. Behind commercial world, people use persuasion to
obtain some goals or to improve their relationships with other people. But again it is all about convincing the other side that their choice will be good

Preventing Anti-Bullying Programs
Approximately one out of four people have been bullied, but few measures have been done to help this group effectively. Anti–bullying programs are
not efficient in helping those involved in bullying, as some only scratch the surface, and those that are effective can cost a lot of money. It's not just the
anti–bullying programs' lack of efficiency, however, it's the victims' efforts as well. The victims do little to tell adults in fear. The bystanders are also
included; they don't take action in helping the victims. We should change this. We can't go on in our lives and ignore the fact that others are being

That's correct: even bullies need help. Bullies become bullies because, sometimes, they have been bullied before, or abused by their parents.
Victims themselves are already bullied, and must be helped before it is too late, as mental effects can lead to devastating effects. These mental
effects can last for long amounts of time, or for the rest of their lives. Therapy is a good solution because both bullies and victims can tell a
counselor what they are experiencing, and they can help ease the the pain, anger, depression, or other effects on them. If they are reluctant to say what
is going on, victims need to be told that they need to speak up, and be reassured that it will help them. Those that have bullied might be harder to open
up, but counselors should allow them to express their emotions to get some of their anger of of them. Then they might speak, and possibly have family
troubles, which the counselor will speak to the family the bully is with to help and to arrange things as

Persuasive Essay On Teen Suicide
Thousands of teenagers commit suicide each year, but how many people actually take the time to find out why these teens would take their own
lives? According to "About Teen Suicide" (2015), suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15 to 24 years old. Teen suicide is a serious
problem for young people; it is not something we put aside and forget it ever happened. Many teenagers commit suicide to escape the unbearable pain of
physical, emotional and substance abuse happening in their lives. Not many teens can endure the pain of physical abuse. Many times bullying can be the
cause of suicide on teenagers. Teens kill themselves to get away from what is happening in school. In school teens are being pushed around and
getting beat up every day before or after classes. Even some teenagers prefer to stay home than go to school because they fear of being bullied.
According to "Yale News" (2011) bullied victims are 7 to 9 percent more likely to consider suicide and also half of the suicides among youths are
related to bullying. Even their parents at home physically abuse teenagers. When parents are drunk or genetically abusive, teens experience more pain
because it's in their own home. They are even afraid to ask their parents for something without getting a beating. Sometimes dealing with bullies at
school and home is too much and can make teens very depress which causes them to think suicide is the best answer. Not all teens go through bullying;
the abuse mostly comes from

Life After St. Jerome 's Indian Horse Novel Study
Life after St. Jerome 's: Indian Horse Novel Study For years, First Nations children endured the harrowing experiences of residential schools. It was
not until 1996, did the final residential school close down. It took over a hundred years of physical, physiological, and the sexual abuse of thousands of
children before residential schools existed no more. Although they do not exist anymore, residential schools continue to cause pain throughout First
Nations communities. There are a variety of novels that describe the accounts of residential school survivors, both fiction and non–fiction, each
powerful in their own way. Indian Horse, a novel by Richard Wagamese, is one of these novels. The book follows Saul Indian Horse, a boy of
Ojibwe descent, and his experiences within St. Jerome 's Indian Residential School. Saul turns to hockey as a form of protection from the fowl
memories of his experiences at St. Jerome 's, using the game to ignore the sexual abuse he endured. This denial results in Saul 's pain, which comes
out in the form anger on the ice, and which ultimately results in him taking up alcohol. It is only when Saul returns to St. Jerome 's, that he is able
to stop the denial, and begin his path to healing. Richard manages to lead the reader down the same path of denial as Saul, therefore allowing the
reader to experience the same feeling of shock as felt by Saul in his moments of realization. Saul 's denial of his sexual abuse

Psychological Manipulation In 1984
Psychological manipulation is a social impact with the target of changing the perspective of others using untactful methods (Bull 1). In today's
society a form of psychological manipulation is how much editing is done to a model's photo for her to be up to today's beauty standards. For a
model to be perceived as beautiful the editors slim down their already skinny waists. This is considered psychological manipulation because the
viewers of the model's edited photo begin to think that only size zero is beautiful. This can lead to unhealthy lifestyles of young females trying to
obtain an unrealistic weight. The young girls in today's society are manipulated in the same way as Winston Smith. The theme of psychological
manipulation in 1984 by George... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the current year of 1984, there are three superstates that the world is divided into–Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia. Winston lives in Oceania and
works as a minor official of the party. "Oceania is governed by an oppressive totalitarian regime known simply as the party. The novel symbolizes
the ubiquitous image of Big Brother; the Party controls every conceivable aspect of human action and thought" (Moss and Wilson 2). To convey the
totalitarian style of Oceania, the slogans of the party must be interpreted. "War is peace. Ignorance is strength. Slavery is freedom" (Orwell 4). The
slogans seem to contradict themselves, but after understanding the torturous process the party places certain people under, the knowledge of how each
individual was brainwashed will be obtained. There were many deceivers of the party and their rules including Winston, but if they were caught they
were tortured and possibly killed. This is shown in room 101 where the people who broke the rules were subjected to their worst fear until they put a

Defining Fair Punishment
"The first and greatest punishment of the sinner is the conscience of sin."
Lucius Annaeus Seneca
What is the purpose of punishment? Ultimately a fair and effective punishment must not only prevent future transgressions, but also teach a valuable
life lesson. While some punishments may seem standard: a grounding for breaking curfew, a detention for misbehaving in class, a jail sentence for
robbery, not all punishments are so cut and dry. Take the case of Casey Heynes. A video which has since gone viral depicts the March 2011 incident.
Ritchard Gale, 12, appears to tease and taunt Casey, 15, and unleash a few unretaliated punches. In response, Casey picks Ritchard up, and slams him
to the ground. While Ritchard was relatively physically unscathed in the encounter, Casey could have inflicted quite serious damage. It was revealed
through family and witness interviews that Casey was indeed provoked, and had suffered bullying at the hands of classmates for years. Regardless,
school and societal rules were broken, and consequences must follow. What then, is a fair punishment? Casey Heynes should receive a four day
at–home suspension. In addition, he should participate in a bullying prevention group at his school and attend a one day anger management course. This
represents a fair punishment, as it acts as a reasonable deterrent, allows Casey to demonstrate remorse, and is reflective of both Casey and Ritchard's
feelings. In order for a punishment to be

Speech On Cyberbullying
Bullying has been a problem for years and years. But when is someone gonna help stop it? We are here to explain to you why bullying is so bad, and
why it needs to stop. We are also gonna give you a few reasons how to fix it.
Bullying is a problem, it affects kids at home, in school, and even in communities. Bullying can be physical, like hitting and touching other kids. It can
also be verbal, calling people names, threatening, and harassing. Another is Social bullying, that involves using a relationship to hurt someone like,
Friendships and dating relationships. Lastly, there is Cyberbullying. Cyberbullying consist of using the internet, or any kind of social media to hurt
someone. All of these are terrible. There are over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Don't be a bystander. If you see that someone is being hurt physically, verbally, even socially tell someone. Tell an adult, your teacher, and even some
people you trust. If we tell many people, at least one of them will do something about it.
Train people. We should train teachers, adults, anyone what bullying looks like. We need to show people what bullying looks like so they can stop it.
Then once they stop it, they can do something. They can have a punishment for how bad the bullying was.
Severe punishment. If people punish the bullies they will stop. Maybe it will I guess "Threaten" them, and then they won't do it. It can be something
along the lines of taking electronics away. It could have something to do with school.. You could have them eat lunch alone. They could sit away from
people in the class. Then this could teach them to stop. If kids don't get a punishment for bullying and nothing is stopping them, they are going to
continue the same behavior someone has to reinforce them and let them know what they are doing is wrong and

1984 Psychological Manipulation Essay
In George Orwell's novel 1984, psychological manipulation was used by the government through telescreens, the Thoughtpolice and Newspeak to
control the public. This tactic emphasizes how a totalitarian government would act in a modern day situation. The Party used psychological
manipulation to control groups of people and to eradicate individuality. Group peer pressure supports emotional manipulation more than individuals
and can therefore be more susceptible to propaganda and manipulation. When a crowd of people are threatened, they are inclined to follow someone
who appears to be less threatened. Crowds are responsive to a leader who is strong and can unite them with a common slogan or symbol. "A nation of
warriors and fanatics, marching forward in perfect... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using torture and murder, the Thoughtpolice could scare the public into believing that when they deceived the Party, they would be caught and
executed. When an individual had a thought that went against the Party's teachings and ideas, he committed a Thoughtcrime. Thoughtcrime was
punishable by death or forced labor camps, and people were fearful so they obeyed the rules given to them. "People simply disappeared, always
during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one–time existence
was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated: vaporized was the usual word (Orwell, 19)." In Nazi Germany, after Adolf Hitler
took power, his personal police forces, the Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo) and the Schutzstaffel (SS) sought to eliminate all of the Nazi party and
Hitler's enemies. Much like the Thoughtpolice protected Big Brother from enemies; the SS and the Gestapo tortured and abused people accused of
being against the Nazis, and also had forced labor camps for those who did not obey the Nazi agenda

Instead of just asking what I was doing he would skip class and watch me in class or at work. He would accuse me of the dumbest things like finding

I have you ever been permanently changed in your life? Ben Mikaelsen wrote a book called Touching Spirit Bear. Cole was a jerk sent an island

The Cause And Effect Of Bullying
It 's thirty minutes till the school bell rings, A terrified twelve year old girl sobs begging her mother to keep her from school. Meanwhile, across
town another twelve year old young lady tries to arrive to school ready to learn, she is detoured by her raging mother mad because clothes are not
folded properly in their place. The sobbing pre–teen will be coerced to go to school and, the one with family problems finally arrives thirty minutes
late finishing her homework on the car ride all the while mother has yet to halt the abuse. Unknowingly these social differences result in catastrophe. So
we ignore the common variables within our family that make bullies and define the bullied.
THE BULLIES AND THE BULLIED
More frequently than not parents are the underlined cause of bullying. At the very least they are responsible for teaching the ways in which to avoid the
stress and social impact bullying causes .
Several parenting patterns, cause children to boss around or to be bullied as well as give birth to the perpetrator, the bully.
Bullies
Authoritarian style parenting, which makes usage of violence or intimidation to coerce children into cooperation is one that results in a bully to form.
This may look normal to most parents that grew up when belts were all the fashion. The parent uses the former school,
"Do as I say because I said so"
"Kids should be seen and not heard." approach to raising children.

The Red Light On The Dashboard Essay
. Suppress your anger. Anger gets a really bad rap, but I kind of love it. I see it as the red light on the dashboard. It simply means that my needs are not
being met. So I don 't suppress it: I acknowledge it and address it.
2. Start telling a story. When you 're angry, it 's easy (and natural) to start writing a play in which you 're simultaneously the hero, the victim, and the
narrator. Don 't. Your motto should be "just the facts." Identify what you really know is the case (as opposed to what you think is happening). Take a
clear look at what you are reacting to and make a clear observation, making sure not to mix in your judgments.
3. Blame a situation or another person. A situation or another person 's actions can never "make" you feel a certain way, so obviously blaming
someone or something for your anger is a red herring. Remember, feelings are your warning signals, and are always a result of your needs not being
met. As your attention shifts from the stimulus and your immediate reaction (anger) to identifying which of your needs are not being met, your feelings
will shift also.
4. Focus on what you don 't want. Don 't focus on what 's bad about the situation: doing so will almost certainly keep you stuck there. Think about it:
until we figure out what specific things we do want, it 's going to be impossible to ask for them. We 're much more likely to judge and blame others
for the bad stuff ("It 's her fault!"). Learn to take ownership of your thinking and focus

Psychological Manipulation Influences
Manipulation Influences There are many factors that affect and influence the behavior exhibited by people. These factors can be either positive or
negative in nature. The behaviors exhibited can also be defined as positive or negative. Psychological manipulation, also known as emotional
manipulation, is categorized as one of the negative behaviors exhibited by some individuals. Psychological manipulation is a form of covert aggression
used to gain control and power over an unsuspecting individual. One does not become a manipulator by accident. Psychological manipulation occurs as
a result of many outside influences. Social psychology helps define and give individuals a better understanding of emotional manipulation. The mental
health of manipulators also plays a role in the understanding of who uses emotional manipulation tactics for personal gain. Social Psychology studies
human behavior as it is influenced by others and the social setting where the behavior occurs (McLeod, 2007). This type of psychology looks at how
feelings, thoughts, beliefs, intentions, and goals affect and influence a person's interactions with others (McLeod, 2007). There are many types of
social influence. Some types of social influence are healthy and positive and other types of social influence are negative and unhealthy. Healthy social
influence occurs between friends, family, coworkers, and partners as a give and take relationship (Ni, 2015). In this type of social influence, no one
person is

departure from his family with books. At residential school, books allow himself to be restrained when his emotions were burning him from the
inside. "What I let them see was a quiet, withdrawn boy, void of feeling." The books about hockey allowed Saul to be distracted from the reality of
his deceased and missing family members. Books also took away the depression from the teachings and events of residential school. Unlike his

Justifying Evil for Good is Cruel
There are many forms of cruelty. One form that many can relate to is bullying. Whether having been bullied or been the one bullying others, those
cruel memories can forever be imprinted on one's heart. In "White Lies," Erin Murphy, expresses that although bullying is wrong, trying to justify bad
deeds for good is equally cruel. Using rhetorical and tonal elements, Murphy stirs emotions with pathos, "perhapsing" with logos, and vivid images with
diction.
Murphy expresses how justifying bad deeds for good is cruel by first stirring the reader's emotions on the topic of bullying with pathos. In "White

in the back of the room. As far as I know, she never intervened" (Murphy 382). A disheartening picture because kids may be kids, but a grown adult
should be able to distinguish between right and wrong. Allowing the bullying to take place meant she condoned their behavior to be acceptable. Also,
as a teacher, she had the power to influence the students and teach them that any form of cruelty is wrong.
Using "perhapsing" from a first person point of view, Murphy states that trying to justify bad deeds for good is cruel. Describing an image of Connie
and her mother at the 7–Eleven, Murphy is showing that Connie told a white lie about her father's job: "All this changed in mid–October when Connie's
father got a job at a candy factory, news Connie announced tentatively one rainy day..." this makes the reader consider if Connie was doing a bad
deed by telling a lie for good (382). Also, Murphy makes one question Connie's mother because even though she was trying to help Connie,
condoning a lie teaches Connie that justifying a bad deed for one's own good is acceptable "Her mother was filling a cardboard box (with candy)"
(383). Murphy's article makes one wonder if there is a middle ground for right and wrong, but there is not and trying to justify wrong for good is cruel.
Murphy explains how justifying bad deeds for good is wrong by painting vivid images of her characters and brings them to life with choice words.
Murphy describes Arpi's accent and uses metaphoric words

from the Emergency Admission Unit, (EMAU), with a chest infection. He also has Alzheimer disease and can no longer care for himself so he has

given one to one care. She argued that even though she had repeatedly told nurses on the EMAU that he had fallen at the nursing home, after being left
in a chair, unattended, they ignored her and he fell again after being left alone. For several days, she harangued the doctors and nurses at every
opportunity about the poor care the NHS had given her father. She continually wanted information and test results from the nursing staff and the
doctors, insisting that they stop what they are doing, often during the doctors round or while nurses are giving out drugs. If there were no results, then
she insisted that blood tests, x–rays and scans were done. She was very much in what would be known as the, Critical Parent mode according to

1984 Psychological Manipulation Essay
Controlling the Mind "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU"(Orwell 2), is a saying that surrounds society in the classic novel 1984. The author,
George Orwell provides his audience with an abundant amount of themes throughout his writing. One very prominent one is Orwell's psychological
manipulation of his characters. As characters within this society are constantly surrounded by sayings such as, "WAR IS PEACE", "FREEDOM IS
SLAVERY", and "IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH"(Orwell 4), Orwell shows the ultimate type of control within his characters. Orwell is able to achieve
such psychological manipulation in his characters through physical control and the abundance of technology. Without Orwell's use of telescreens, his

As Orwell continues Winston's physical torture, he develops psychological manipulation in Winston as he causes Winston 's pain based on his
thoughts and actions, as seen when "without any warning except a slight movement of O 'Brien 's hand, a wave of pain flooded his body. It was a
frightening pain, because he could not see what was happening, and he had the feeling that some mortal injury was being done to him."(Orwell 244),
causing Winston to begin agreeing with the Party's ideals to stop the pain. As Winston's torture continues, O'Brien claims "I have it in my power to
inflict pain on you at any moment and to whatever degree I choose"(Orwell 245). This causes Winston to believe that O'Brien controls the pain, causing
Winston to love O'Brien, as he can stop the pain. Throughout the process it is explained that there are three steps to the psychological manipulation
project the government uses, and as O'Brien explains, "There is learning, there is understanding, and there is acceptance"(Orwell 260). With this,
Orwell makes it obvious to the audience what he is doing, by using physical control to create psychological control. Orwell successfully manipulates
Winston physiologically through his use of technology and advancements in telescreens, control of history, and control of language. Within the society,
Winston is among few who have memories of the past world. While Winston feels

Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn
Review: Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn
Breathing UnderwaterBreathing Underwater by Alex Flinn is written as a series of journal entries. The journal is written by Nick as an assignment
from the judge who also sends him to anger management after the girlfriend he beat up finally presses charges. The book was published in 2001,
before the recent increase in dating violence novels, and it tells a story often overlooked, that of the abuser instead of the abused.
It 's a delicate subject. And it tells a hard story. Because while Nick is (obviously) not without his faults, he most certainly has his good points as well.
And as I read I found myself feeling... not sympathetic, exactly, but definitely feeling something, more than I thought ... Show more content on

The group anger management class ends up being the best thing that ever happened to Nick, both because of the sympathetic and understanding
instructor, and because Nick can see himself in the actions of some of the other members of the class and he doesn 't like what he sees. For such
self–assessment to come from a 16 year old who then takes it and applies it to making himself better is amazing. Nick really grows as a person and
while I don 't think Caitlin should ever take him back, I also think that he would not easily allow himself to fall back into the patterns of an abusive
relationship. He really gets it.
This is a story that needed to be told and needs to be read by more people. I don 't think enough people know about this book and I don 't think it 's
one that should be missed. It 's painfully hard to read at times. Nick doesn 't hide the nasty things he said to Caitlin, because in the beginning, he doesn
't think there is anything wrong with what he 's done. And then, as he begins to recognize what was wrong with his actions, he starts to expose more of
his internal motivations for being so cruel and the thought to action correlation begins to make more sense.
Flinn is brave for taking an oft told story and telling the unspoken side of things. It would be easy, in a novel

Essay about Psychological Themes in Duncan's Novel,...
The Novel Killing Mr. Griffin by: Lois Duncan is a story about the plot of kidnapping the English teacher of Del Norte High school. Being a student of
Del Norte High school, Susan McConnell (the protagonist) encounters some difficulties and joy after she finally gets accepted in the "popular" herd.
These upside and downsides turn into major themes which are incorporated during the course of the book. The major themes that are developed inside
the book are: peer pressure/manipulation, psychopaths, conscience/guilt.
First of all, peer pressure/manipulation is the lighting match of the whole conflict inside the story. Mark Kinney is the father of all peer pressuring

feelings and decides to tell the whole story to the cops, but Mark is not okay with this and decides to tie up Susan and burn down the house with
Susan and Mark inside. This part of the book is most likely the climax of the book; at this point, the reader finally is certain that Mark has some
psychological problems. After this suspenseful scene the next chapter immediately starts back at the house of Susan, she is still alive and does not
want to talk about what happened. Her mother tries to convince her to speak up and tell what happened, her mom eventually reads her something about
a certain personality:
" This individual has a behavior pattern that brings him repeatedly into conflict with society. He is incapable of significant loyalty to individuals,
groups or social values. He is selfish, callous, irresponsible, impulsive and totally unable to experience guilt. His frustration level is low; he cannot
stand to be thwarted. He tends to blame others or offer plausible rationalizations for his behavior."
The reader immediately thinks of Mark Kinney and so does Susan McConnell. Right after her mom reads to her it a clinical description of psychopaths.
Last is conscience/guilt; conscience/guilt is most likely to be the major conflict in the story. The protagonist has constant battles inside her head about

Ralph White Theory

  • 1. Ralph White Theory Moreover while some individuals are totally excluded from society, others, in this case the perpetrators win social acceptance by other peers and this is perhaps the most important factor, since they receive no warning or reprimand, the contrary of your answer is positive to be recognized and flattered to other people. These individuals believe in their consciousness about cruel and harmful thoughts to do evil to others, because they know they will be well accepted in a society that also criticizes. Some people who engage in bullying other individuals do it for self–satisfaction, as they feel happy to see someone else suffer with what they do, but others do it to fit into a society that also criticizes them and that the only positive factor that see them is when they practice the bullying to someone else, and at that time if they are important ... Being a research validated theory justified by Ralph White believe that if it is true that every human being can be irrational and immoral, but that can happen does not mean that it can be accepted in our society, like a law that occur in our lives, as a normal occurrence. • 2. Personal Statement : ' Title Iv Denied ' "Title IV Denied" Wrote bluntly across panther tracks, brought tears to my eyes. All I could I feel is the betrayal and rage I held against my professors that failed me, the committees that were on the board that made the decision and even my grandpa that stood my way taking of quizzes and test from his diagnosed. So much hate came from a foolish and hatred young woman that still did not understand that the blame was pointed at the wrong person. Rather than shift my blame towards the only person that could be held responsible, everyone else was held accountable for my dismal. Quite honestly my 2015 appeal form was written less than 30 minutes inside of the library, to add more disrespect I walked out of the library looking at the faces of working students, just to get ready for a party that night. However, I hold Prairie View to a much higher standard to let my future and education forsake me due to my lack of respect for the committee and my self. For my lack of companionship and even decency to give you all a bull crap paper that did not even hold any remorse or meaning to it. As a childish teenager transforming into a woman I could not kiss my education good bye due to my pride, so I know it will be more than worth the oppturnity to give the appeal letter another chance to write my wrongs. After putting in my application to Prairie View I wondered if I could honestly move so far away from myfamily. The thought of leaving to go as far as 45 minutes to college was ... • 3. WhatВґs Psychological Manipulation? Psychological Manipulation Essay Psychological manipulation can affect the lives of many by manipulating their emotions. Finding a way to psychologically manipulate a person's emotions or their thoughts could be a long and tedious process, and can only be mastered by few people. For these people who try to manipulate the behaviors of people will stop at nothing and fight hard to attain their goals. Although these people will stop at nothing to achieve their goal, finding a way to psychologically manipulate someone can be a difficult task. One of the most common ways to manipulate someone by their emotions or behaviors is the act most often known as lying.Yet there are many ways and reasons for what these people do, and why they do them. These acts of psychological manipulation can also be shown in the book 1984 by George Orwell. In the book 1984 the government makes laws and then forces their citizens to follow them so that people will be so focused on following the laws just to prevent harsh penalties if these laws are broken. If one of these laws are broken, the penalties for breaking the law could result in a death sentence too many different forms of psychological torture. In order to know the truth facts of psychological manipulation, a skilled manipulator must know the vulnerabilities of their opponents or victims. • 4. The Salvation Army's Oppression Of Gender Stereotypes Wherever we go in life, we are constantly being bombarded with advertisements. It could be a poster for a new store opening up down the street, or a pop–up that appears on our computer screens. Maybe, something that we see between breaks in our tv program, or a billboard that we see driving down the highway. Regardless, of the type they are all around us, drawing our eyes to them, and yanking at our curiosity. However, when immersing yourself in all these advertisements, have you ever taken a moment to stand back and think about what they are truly conveying. The advertisement that is a prime example, was posted by the Salvation Army on Twitter, the ad features the words "Why is it hard to see, black and blue". Through this ad we as individuals are really challenged to step back for a moment, and think about the message that it is trying to illuminate and spread. However, an argument can be made that it targets all age demographics seeing, as how information is shared so easily nowadays. In another case it can be simply put that this information might be lost on the older generations. The older demographic you try to reach, the lesser the chance of change becomes. It is smarter to target the younger generations who you can still help to shape and mold, and this is exactly what the Salvation Army has done. They have understood that while Domestic Violence is still a problem with older generations, their main focus needs to be the future, leaders, the future adults, who then in turn can teach the future ... • 5. Psychological Manipulation Psychological manipulation is a type of social influence that aims to change the behavior or perception of others through abusive, deceptive, or underhanded tactics by advancing the interests of the manipulator, often at another's expense, such methods could be considered exploitative, abusive, devious, and deceptive. The process of manipulation involves bringing an unknowing victim under the domination of the manipulator, often using deception, and using the victim to serve their own purposes. Psychological manipulation can be used by people with great power as well as the common individual to get people to do what they want. First let's list all the types of manipulation. 1.Express a desire to serve (show humility, care, love) they will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a psychologically coercive environment, the victim is forced to adapt in a series of small "invisible" steps. Each step is sufficiently small that the subject does not notice the changes or identify the coercive nature of the process until much later, if ever. These tactics can be reinforced in a group setting by well–intended, but deceived, "friends and allies" of the victim. (Good–cop/Bad–cop). This keeps the victim from setting up the ego defenses normally maintained in known adversarial situations. Psychological coercion overcomes the individual's critical thinking abilities and free will – apart from any appeal to informed judgment. Victims gradually lose their ability to make independent decisions and exercise informed consent. Their emotional defenses, cognitive processes, values, ideas, attitudes, conduct and ability to reason are undermined, and decisions are no longer through meaningful free choice, rationality, or the inherent merit or value of the ideas or propositions being presented. Coercive psychological systems violate our most fundamental concepts of basic human rights. They violate rights of individuals that are guaranteed by many declarations of principle worldwide. Victims become confused, intimidated and silenced by actions accepted as harmful, such as uncompromising influence, involuntary servitude, and infliction of emotional distress. The victim becomes compliant and brainwashed, Social and emotional isolation. • 6. Violence Is Preventable And Extremely Imperative For Us Essay Violence is preventable and extremely imperative for us to detect the early signs of it. We need to take all prevention strategies for an account. For example, primary, secondary, and tertiary preventions are an appropriate approach for this matter. Dating violence is the topic that is going to be discussed in this reading. I decided to write about this topic because many people are in the dark when it comes to dating violence, and the substantial effects of it. Allow me the opportunity to expand your horizon on this particular topic. There have been quite a few cases where women press charges on their significant other after being battered in unhealthy relationships. I always hear about situations like this through the media never in real life. It's sad to say that a very close friend of mind was one of those women in a vicious relationship. I thought to myself why would you continue to stay in an abusive relationship for so long. Some people (victim or perpetrator) believe abuse is normal; they grew up in abusive homes. Some individuals stay in abusive relationships for financial support. "Violence perpetrated against women by a male intimate partner is 10 times more likely than violence perpetrated against men by a female intimate partner". I would like to learn methods that people can use to prevent a violent relationship, and if there are any psychological correlation on why people decide to stay in those unhealthy relationships. • 7. A Research Study On The Nature Of Interdependence It is estimated that 50–60% of American couples experience a violent episode at least once in the span of their relationship. A correlational study done at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studied the importance of the nature of interdependence in ongoing relationships, using the investment model to understand decisions to remain in or terminate abusive relationships. Using data obtained from the official files of a shelter for battered women, they studied three different important variables – satisfaction level (severity and frequency of abuse, abuse history), investment size (marital status, children, length of relationship), and alternative quality (education and income levels). The shelter staff interviewed women shortly after their arrival in order to measure their subjective commitment. They also contacted the women after leaving the shelter to check on their safety and determine whether they had returned to their abusive partners, in order to obtain information relevant to actual behavior. In this study, there were three different hypotheses that looked at the different variables. Hypothesis 1 predicts that feelings of commitment to an abusive relationship would be associated with limited or poor–quality alternatives, greater investment of resources in a relationship, and greater satisfaction/lesser dissatisfaction. Hypothesis 2 predicts that individuals will be more likely to remain with abusive partners to the degree that they feel more strongly committed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Compare And Contrast William Blake And A Cask Of Amontillado The insightful mind of Mahatma Gandhi once said; "An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind." By attempting to get revenge every time someone upsets you, the issue is never fully resolved meaning it could resurface and bite back harder the second time. In "A Cask of Amontillado", by Edward Poe, the author uses irony to show how Fortunato's death was due to Montresor's hatred. Similarly, in the poem "A Poison Tree", by William Blake, the author uses figurative language to show how the enemy was killed because of the narrator's anger. In both texts, the two characters were once friends and the enemies are being deceived. Poe and Blake use figurative language and irony to show how hatred and anger can lead to deception. In the short story,"A Cask of Amontillado", Poe uses the literary device, irony to reiterate the idea that hateful or angry feelings can lead to deception. In the story, Montresor (the narrator) is seeking revenge on his work partner (and apparent friend), Fortunato. According to Montresor, Fortunato hurt and insulted him. While at a party the night that Montresor plans to kill Fortunato, he speaks about how "I was so pleased to see him that I thought I should never have done wringing his hand" (Poe 6). This is an example of dramatic irony, as the readers know that Montresor is in fact pleased to see him, but for the reason being that he wants to kill him. Fortunato is oblivious to the fact that Montresor has anything going against him, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Psychological Manipulation in 1984 Essay Nineteen Eighty–Four, by George Orwell, is a superb novel with outstanding themes. One of the most prominent themes found in this novel is psychological manipulation. Citizens in this society are subject to ever present signs declaring "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU" (Orwell 1). Along with psychological manipulation, physical control takes place. The Party not only controls what people in Oceania think, but what they do as well. Technology is another important theme. Without the constant telescreens, microphones, and computers, the Party would be all but powerless. Big Brother is the main figure of the Party. The main symbol that drives these themes is the telescreens. It is representative of the party always watching and controlling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of the constant messages and propaganda causes citizens to have no time for independent thought. The constant stream of propaganda is designed to make everything the Party does, look like a glorious success. Everyone thinks the Party is doing well and is a necessity when in reality, the people would be better off without the Party. No matter where the people go, the Party provides a constant barrage of information, mostly untruthful, meant only to occupy their time. The Party also thinks down upon the family structure. The Party undermines families by letting their children into an organization called the Junior Spies. The Party then brainwashes and encourages them to spy on their parents. They are told to report any problems and signs of disloyalty to the Party. Mrs. Parson's children are in the Junior Spies. Mrs. Parson is even afraid of her kids accusing her of a thoughtcrime or any disloyalty. The Party also forces the public to suppress and disband their sexual desires almost completely. They are forced to treat sex as merely a job where the only purpose is the creation of new, loyal, Party members. With such a lack of sexual freedom, it is obvious why Winston wishes to overthrow the Party and the face of Big Brother. When Winston is being tortured by O'Brien, Winston submits to O'Brien's power. Although the individuals were not told that the red cards lead to larger loss and the blue had much less of a loss, they slowly began to pick less and less red cards. Stockton, the princess had to overcome the choices of causing agony to herself by letting her lover live and marry another woman, or going as far as to letting her lover die by letting him get mauled by the tiger. The princess was conflicted with mainly two emotions throughout the story, only one of which overcame her at the end. For one reason, the princess really hated the lady that was behind the door. Being Able To Speak Freely I believe that being able to speak freely and honestly is not just a right given to us as stated in the first Amendment, but it is a way someone expresses themselves. It is also a way of communicating with other people and giving them our opinion on certain ideas, topics, or items. If you feel like you shouldn't speak your mind and let others know of your opinion, then those thoughts and worries you have may just keep piling up to the point where you will eventually explode. • 14. The North Shore Animal League I've created a campaign for the North Shore Animal League and it will be based on animal rights. The goal I want my message to achieve is how it's not acceptable for animals to be abused and abandoned. I've chosen animal rights as my issue because upon growing up in Brooklyn I've encountered many dogs who were abused by their owners and were able to get away with it which really upset me. Apropaganda campaign is needed to raise public awareness for the animals that are abused and homeless in hopes of people having a heart and adopting them. The North Shore Animal League will first discuss animal rights and how animal abuse and homelessness is at an all–time high today among animals. There will also be various pictures and statistics shown to offer the audience insight on which dog and cat breeds are the most abused and homeless. For example, due to their small size and temperament with people Chihuahuas are among one of the most abused and homeless dog breeds. The organization will then discuss their plan to remedy the issue of animal abuse and homelessness by opening up animal shelters in urban areas in Staten Island and Brooklyn to lower animal abuse and homelessness. These shelters will provide the animal's food, water, and medicine, which are the main necessities for them to survive. By opening these new shelters, it will ensure the animal's safety and well–being until people are ready to adopt and bring them home. Twitter and WordPress are the two types of ... One who is not very popular or hails from a very prominent well–to–do family. It was the holidays, and all I wanted was to make some money. Money to enable me pay–off a debt I owed a friend. Apparently he wanted me to pay him back after the laptop I had borrowed from him was stolen in my possession. Money to give me the deep satisfaction of helping my family cope with the daily life expenses. Money that would enable me to purchase trendy clothes so that I could have a satisfying feeling of fitting–in among the youth in my school. They were my dreams and plans. A fragment of hope clouded me when I secured employment over the school holidays–for I had a chance to make the money I so much yearned. Now, all that hope remains to be hope, and not fulfilled dreams. My life is a nightmare. I sit down in my room. My eyes wet with tears as I reminisce on that fateful day. Mixed feelings fill my heart. Is it grief? Is it sorrow? Is it confusion? Is it disappointment? Is it regret? Is it hate? Is it rage? My answer is 'Yes ' to all the above. The feelings pierce my heart and soul at different rates. Perhaps it was my fate! I try to console myself. However, it just raises another question: Why did they have to rob me? The joy I felt as I received an envelope with my salary is inexpressible through words. The joy I felt as I travelled back home can only be compared to the happiness of the King. Oh my ... • 16. Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God Analysis An Analysis of the Sermon, "Sinner in the Hands of an Angry God" In the sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", Edwards displays controversial viewpoints and ideas concerning heaven and hell. As Edwards speaks to the congregation he warns them of the misery and suffering they will face if they do not repent of certain sins. He also describes God as angry which probably struck fear into the hearts on many. To illustrate his own point that hell is unenviable without repentance Jonathan Edwards creates the idea of an angry God using intense similes, a harsh tone, and strong emotional appeal in "Sinners in the hand of an Angry God". Jonathon Edwards maintains his audience's attention by creating intense and meaningful similes. Edwards uses these similes as a way for his audience to understand the points he is making and adds dramatic imagery and piercing words to get the audience to consider what he is saying. The first simile he uses says this, "...they were always exposed to destruction; as one that stands or walks in slippery places is always exposed to fall" (Edwards 1). Edwards includes this quote in his sermon to provoke the readers thought. The point he is trying to make is that God's people are exposed to destruction which is a hard to imagine so he breaks it down for his audience by saying that just as they are exposed to destruction if you walk in a slippery place you will also fall. The next memorable simile Edwards uses says this, "The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider or some loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked. His wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else but to be cast into the fire..." (6). Here Edwards compares his congregation to a "loathsome insect". Edwards does this to try and describe how God views them. He continues his claim by comparing God's wrath on them burning like fire, which would probably spark fear in the hearts of the people that they may repent. This simile helped further Edward's main point, that hell is inevitable. One last simile Edwards uses is this, "Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. • 18. Biological Influences Of Mass Shootings According to Political Fact, "there have been 273 mass shooting in 2017– one for each day of the year (Pelosi)." In the past the government has used a strict definition to define a mass murder which states that at least four victims must be killed. Many factors play different roles in committing a terror attack or mass shooting such as biological, psychological, and social influences. The biological influences consist of natural selection, genetic predisposition and responding to the environment, brain mechanisms, and hormonal influences. Biologically, some people are born angry and more depressed than others. People who are depressed usually don't like to see many people happy and having good times with other people. This could be why many mass shootings occur when people are having a good time like at the festival where Stephen Paddlock killed 59 people and injured more than 500. Tia Ghose from LiveScience says "killers often exhibit risk factors that are generally tied to criminality: a history of abuse or ineffective parenting, a tendency to set fires or hurt animals, a sadistic streak, and self–centeredness and a lack of compassion (Ghose)." Many people respond to the environment in many ways, whether its calmly or violently. In this case it was violently. Psychological influences of a mass shooter are much deeper than just someone's physical appearance. Emotions can cause people to do vile things or at least what a person may think is right in that moment. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to "About Teen Suicide" (2015), suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15 to 24 years old. Teen suicide is a serious problem for young people; it is not something we put aside and forget it ever happened. Many teenagers commit suicide to escape the unbearable pain of physical, emotional and substance abuse happening in their lives. Not many teens can endure the pain of physical abuse. Many times bullying can be the cause of suicide on teenagers. Teens kill themselves to get away from what is happening in school. In school teens are being pushed around and getting beat up every day before or after classes. Even some teenagers prefer to stay home than go to school because they fear of being bullied. According to "Yale News" (2011) bullied victims are 7 to 9 percent more likely to consider suicide and also half of the suicides among youths are related to bullying. • 26. Defining Fair Punishment "The first and greatest punishment of the sinner is the conscience of sin." Lucius Annaeus Seneca What is the purpose of punishment? Ultimately a fair and effective punishment must not only prevent future transgressions, but also teach a valuable life lesson. While some punishments may seem standard: a grounding for breaking curfew, a detention for misbehaving in class, a jail sentence for robbery, not all punishments are so cut and dry. Take the case of Casey Heynes. A video which has since gone viral depicts the March 2011 incident. Ritchard Gale, 12, appears to tease and taunt Casey, 15, and unleash a few unretaliated punches. In response, Casey picks Ritchard up, and slams him to the ground. While Ritchard was relatively physically unscathed in the encounter, Casey could have inflicted quite serious damage. It was revealed through family and witness interviews that Casey was indeed provoked, and had suffered bullying at the hands of classmates for years. Regardless, school and societal rules were broken, and consequences must follow. What then, is a fair punishment? Casey Heynes should receive a four day at–home suspension. In addition, he should participate in a bullying prevention group at his school and attend a one day anger management course. This represents a fair punishment, as it acts as a reasonable deterrent, allows Casey to demonstrate remorse, and is reflective of both Casey and Ritchard's feelings. • 32. The Red Light On The Dashboard Essay . Suppress your anger. Anger gets a really bad rap, but I kind of love it. I see it as the red light on the dashboard. It simply means that my needs are not being met. So I don 't suppress it: I acknowledge it and address it. 2. Start telling a story. When you 're angry, it 's easy (and natural) to start writing a play in which you 're simultaneously the hero, the victim, and the narrator. Don 't. Your motto should be "just the facts." Identify what you really know is the case (as opposed to what you think is happening). Take a clear look at what you are reacting to and make a clear observation, making sure not to mix in your judgments. 3. Blame a situation or another person. A situation or another person 's actions can never "make" you feel a certain way, so obviously blaming someone or something for your anger is a red herring. Remember, feelings are your warning signals, and are always a result of your needs not being met. As your attention shifts from the stimulus and your immediate reaction (anger) to identifying which of your needs are not being met, your feelings will shift also. 4. Focus on what you don 't want. Don 't focus on what 's bad about the situation: doing so will almost certainly keep you stuck there. Think about it: until we figure out what specific things we do want, it 's going to be impossible to ask for them. We 're much more likely to judge and blame others for the bad stuff ("It 's her fault!"). Learn to take ownership of your thinking and focus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These factors can be either positive or negative in nature. The behaviors exhibited can also be defined as positive or negative. Psychological manipulation, also known as emotional manipulation, is categorized as one of the negative behaviors exhibited by some individuals. Psychological manipulation is a form of covert aggression used to gain control and power over an unsuspecting individual. One does not become a manipulator by accident. Psychological manipulation occurs as a result of many outside influences. Social psychology helps define and give individuals a better understanding of emotional manipulation. The mental health of manipulators also plays a role in the understanding of who uses emotional manipulation tactics for personal gain. Social Psychology studies human behavior as it is influenced by others and the social setting where the behavior occurs (McLeod, 2007). This type of psychology looks at how feelings, thoughts, beliefs, intentions, and goals affect and influence a person's interactions with others (McLeod, 2007). There are many types of social influence. Some types of social influence are healthy and positive and other types of social influence are negative and unhealthy. Also, as a teacher, she had the power to influence the students and teach them that any form of cruelty is wrong. Using "perhapsing" from a first person point of view, Murphy states that trying to justify bad deeds for good is cruel. Describing an image of Connie and her mother at the 7–Eleven, Murphy is showing that Connie told a white lie about her father's job: "All this changed in mid–October when Connie's father got a job at a candy factory, news Connie announced tentatively one rainy day..." this makes the reader consider if Connie was doing a bad deed by telling a lie for good (382). Also, Murphy makes one question Connie's mother because even though she was trying to help Connie, condoning a lie teaches Connie that justifying a bad deed for one's own good is acceptable "Her mother was filling a cardboard box (with candy)" (383). Murphy's article makes one wonder if there is a middle ground for right and wrong, but there is not and trying to justify wrong for good is cruel. Murphy explains how justifying bad deeds for good is wrong by painting vivid images of her characters and brings them to life with choice words. Murphy describes Arpi's accent and uses metaphoric words ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Use Of Gibbs Reflective Model ( Gibbs.1998 ) This essay uses Gibbs reflective model (Gibbs.1998), to discuss my communication with a relative of a gentleman admitted to the ward I work on. To maintain confidentiality, (Confidentiality Policy.2014), I will use the pseudo name Mr Brown. Description Mr Brown was admitted to the ward from the Emergency Admission Unit, (EMAU), with a chest infection. He also has Alzheimer disease and can no longer care for himself so he has been resident in a nursing home for the past two years. His only relative is his daughter, Miss Brown, who accompanied him to the ward. She appeared angry and upset with staff, complaining that she was unhappy with his treatment and did not want her father sat out of bed unless he was given one to one care. She argued that even though she had repeatedly told nurses on the EMAU that he had fallen at the nursing home, after being left in a chair, unattended, they ignored her and he fell again after being left alone. For several days, she harangued the doctors and nurses at every opportunity about the poor care the NHS had given her father. She continually wanted information and test results from the nursing staff and the doctors, insisting that they stop what they are doing, often during the doctors round or while nurses are giving out drugs. If there were no results, then she insisted that blood tests, x–rays and scans were done. She was very much in what would be known as the, Critical Parent mode according to Transactional Analysis. • 37. 1984 Psychological Manipulation Essay Controlling the Mind "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU"(Orwell 2), is a saying that surrounds society in the classic novel 1984. The author, George Orwell provides his audience with an abundant amount of themes throughout his writing. One very prominent one is Orwell's psychological manipulation of his characters. As characters within this society are constantly surrounded by sayings such as, "WAR IS PEACE", "FREEDOM IS SLAVERY", and "IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH"(Orwell 4), Orwell shows the ultimate type of control within his characters. Orwell is able to achieve such psychological manipulation in his characters through physical control and the abundance of technology. Without Orwell's use of telescreens, his characters would be able to have their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Orwell continues Winston's physical torture, he develops psychological manipulation in Winston as he causes Winston 's pain based on his thoughts and actions, as seen when "without any warning except a slight movement of O 'Brien 's hand, a wave of pain flooded his body. It was a frightening pain, because he could not see what was happening, and he had the feeling that some mortal injury was being done to him."(Orwell 244), causing Winston to begin agreeing with the Party's ideals to stop the pain. As Winston's torture continues, O'Brien claims "I have it in my power to inflict pain on you at any moment and to whatever degree I choose"(Orwell 245). This causes Winston to believe that O'Brien controls the pain, causing Winston to love O'Brien, as he can stop the pain. Throughout the process it is explained that there are three steps to the psychological manipulation project the government uses, and as O'Brien explains, "There is learning, there is understanding, and there is acceptance"(Orwell 260). With this, Orwell makes it obvious to the audience what he is doing, by using physical control to create psychological control. Orwell successfully manipulates Winston physiologically through his use of technology and advancements in telescreens, control of history, and control of language. Within the society, Winston is among few who have memories of the past world. While Winston feels ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn Review: Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn Breathing UnderwaterBreathing Underwater by Alex Flinn is written as a series of journal entries. The journal is written by Nick as an assignment from the judge who also sends him to anger management after the girlfriend he beat up finally presses charges. The book was published in 2001, before the recent increase in dating violence novels, and it tells a story often overlooked, that of the abuser instead of the abused. It 's a delicate subject. And it tells a hard story. Because while Nick is (obviously) not without his faults, he most certainly has his good points as well. And as I read I found myself feeling... not sympathetic, exactly, but definitely feeling something, more than I thought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The group anger management class ends up being the best thing that ever happened to Nick, both because of the sympathetic and understanding instructor, and because Nick can see himself in the actions of some of the other members of the class and he doesn 't like what he sees. For such self–assessment to come from a 16 year old who then takes it and applies it to making himself better is amazing. Nick really grows as a person and while I don 't think Caitlin should ever take him back, I also think that he would not easily allow himself to fall back into the patterns of an abusive relationship. He really gets it. This is a story that needed to be told and needs to be read by more people. I don 't think enough people know about this book and I don 't think it 's one that should be missed. It 's painfully hard to read at times. Nick doesn 't hide the nasty things he said to Caitlin, because in the beginning, he doesn 't think there is anything wrong with what he 's done. And then, as he begins to recognize what was wrong with his actions, he starts to expose more of his internal motivations for being so cruel and the thought to action correlation begins to make more sense. Flinn is brave for taking an oft told story and telling the unspoken side of things. It would be easy, in a novel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her mother tries to convince her to speak up and tell what happened, her mom eventually reads her something about a certain personality: " This individual has a behavior pattern that brings him repeatedly into conflict with society. He is incapable of significant loyalty to individuals, groups or social values. He is selfish, callous, irresponsible, impulsive and totally unable to experience guilt. His frustration level is low; he cannot stand to be thwarted. He tends to blame others or offer plausible rationalizations for his behavior."
