A clear, colorless liquid was separated using fractional distillation. The identity of
this unknown liquid was found by the characteristic properties of flammability,
density, sugar solubility, boiling point, and odor. The liquid ended up being
flammable, and the density was below the average 0.79 g/cm3. Instead, we found
0.69 g/cm3. For the sugar solubility, it was found to be insoluble. The boiling was
found to be higher than the average is 57C. We found the boiling point to be 66C.
Lastly, the odor was found to be like nail polish remover, which is similar to or
known as Acetone. Therefore, our first liquid was found to be Acetone.

Gender Segregation During The Workplace
While women are not the majority in many fields of work in our society, the
positions they do hold show the unequal sexual segregation by men. Through
gendered practices presented to us at birth and childhood, our society forms the
basis as to what field s men and women can work in separately. Through the
processes of patriarchy and capitalism, men have become the powerful actors in
terms of dominating work. Because of this gendersegregation among occupations, we
see a pattern where female dominated occupations are typically paid less, even though
they exist in such fewer numbers. As women became financially dependent upon men
during the capitalist mode of production, they were expected to do the majority of the
housework duties. Today, we are experiencing more women in the workforce than
ever before, however, the great majority of women in the workplace have entered
female dominated occupations (Mason, 1992:24). Furthermore, while housework has
declined slightly for women, they are still estimated to do 1.6 times the amount of
housework compared to men today.
As discussed throughout the course, the construction of gender starts with an
individual based on their sex at the time of birth. Babies are dressed in ways that
display their gender and are treated accordingly. Throughout childhood, children learn
gender behaviors and feelings through school, parents, friends, family, and the media.

There will be low oxygen in lung due to alveoli being filled with amniotic fluid and
not air, the baby at this point is still getting its oxygen from umbilical vein. In the
baby s heart the pressure tends to go up in several areas right ventricle, right atrium
because there is a high resistance in the lungs trying to keep blood from circulating,
so blood in turn has to get to aorta, the ultimate goal. Because there is such a high
pressure and high resistance the blood needs a shortcut to avoid these areas, so it
takes two shortcuts for both sides of the heart to get to the aorta. The first shortcut
includes the septum secundum and septum primum. The secundum supplies the right
atrium and the primum supplies the left atrium. There is a hole between the two
allowing the shortcut and it is the foramen ovale. It allows for passage of blood from
right atrium to left atrium bypassing the lungs. The second shortcut is the dumping
of blood from right atrium into right ventricle then going into pulmonary arteries,

You are going to have a baby, how exciting! Whether or not this is your first
pregnancy, it can be a bit nerve racking. How can you best prepare for baby s
arrival? Are there things that can be done to minimize fears and frustrations of

us evaluate the effectiveness of Jamie Oliver s hands on management approach. As a
manager, Jamie Oliver would take a personal interest in his students; providing them
with training, support (paying for their transport if necessary) and visiting their
homes. This allowed Jamie to develop trust and respect with his students and in
return, the students established a trust with him. If a manager is attentive and
acknowledges their efforts, employees are more likely to uphold their motivation.

On March 25th, 1984 Senna had his first Formula 1 race, the Brazilian Grand Prix.
He qualified 16th and eventually had to retire with a blown turbo. The next race
he had was Monaco and it was horrible. It was raining heavily and Senna was
overjoyed. He qualified 13th on the grid, and during the race, he slowly came up to
second place, right behind the French prodigy, Alain Prost. On lap 32, the story
everyone remembers, Prost slowed at the starting line because he wanted to stop
the race due to the terrible conditions, and as he did, Senna overtook him. But right
as he did, the red flag was pulled out because of the extremely rainy conditions.
Therefore, the positions for the second to last lap were taken, with Prost in first and
Senna second. He was furious because he believed he had one his first Grand Prix.
But everyone was still impressed with Senna s performance. One of those people was
Lotus manager Peter Warr. When Senna told his manager from Toleman that he was
moving to Lotus, the Toleman team was furious because Senna was breaking the two
year contract he had signed with Toleman.
It was 1985 and a new start for Senna and his Lotus, but that year was terrible.
Senna was a DNF for almost half the races. But then came along 1986. The new
Lotus 98T was much better than the old 97T. He had a string of victories, but still

their plays. Although characters Nora Helmer of A Doll s House and Laura
Wingfield of The Glass Menagerie are incredibly different, the authors used very
similar techniques of creating them as convincing characters. Nora and Laura both
undergo convincing character development with specific motivations behind their

suffered after the bite and if the demons in the title of the work are really the ones the
Church believes is possessing her. Love is subliminally introduced throughout the

of all, the other demons mentioned in the work never resided in Sierva, but in the
sins of man. When Sierva was bitten, the only people who knew about it were the
slaves. After a few rituals, the bite slowly began to heal and she showed no signs
of contracting the deadly disease of rabies. Once her father, the Marquis, made the
discovery of what had occurred, he made Sierva live within the house instead of the
slave quarters. Not suited to the environment, Sierva never spoke and rarely showed

father, Abdulfattah Jandali, was a Syrian political science professor, and his

This has been a constant characteristic in Latin American reality, mainly during the
revolutions that took place in the beginning of the 1900s. Poor people with great
ideals of change and commitment towards society rise and make others believe in
them. However, once in power, they forget their ideas and start thinking of
themselves. Esteban, in my opinion represents this social figure of leaders that once
in power, forget their origins and start thinking money and more power.
During the novel, Ferula endures many burdens as well. These burdens are due to
her father s drinking, then his death, her mother s age, her chronic ailment, and
having the responsibility of taking care of Esteban during his childhood. A direct
result of these chaotic years is her inability to relate with her brother. For instance,
a small situation portrays perfectly this inability to relate. When Esteban buys a
luxurious, an elaborate coffee with his money she scolds him for quot;spending
Mama s medicine money on [his] private little whims quot; (Allende 43).
Eventually Esteban gets tired of this oppressive way of life and goes to search for

Titania wakes from a sleep to fall in love with Bottom, who has the head of an ass,
while Lysander awakes to find himself in love with Helena, who he has shown no

It is a glycoalkaloid. It is a poison. It is present in the nightshade family i.e
Solanaceae especially in species tomato and potato. Solanine is found naturally in
many parts of plants e.g tubers, leaves and fruits. It also has pesticidal and

was extracted in 1820 from a berry i.e Solanum nigram.
