RESIDENT ASSISTANT!
The Resident Assistant is a key member of the
Residential Life team and assists in the the
day-to-day operations of a residence hall. As
an RA, you’ll live in one of our residence halls
and assist students with the transition to
campus life. RAs have diverse responsibilities
and must be able to balance several
multidimensional roles, including active
planner, helper, advisor, resource person,
administrator and role model.
Minimum requirements:
2.75 cumulative GPA
No significant Code of Conduct
Violations
Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate
day school student
Lived on campus for 3+ terms by the
start of employment
In good standing with Student Financial
Services
*We also require two completed recommendation forms.
The first form must be completed be a Residential Life
staff member (RA, RD, GA, FDM) and the second for must
be completed by a JWU faculty/staff member who can
speak about your leadership skills and work ethic.
Providing a high level of engagement and
relationship building with residents
Developing and hosting hall programs and
events
Being accessible to students and their
concerns through regular interaction
Serving as a resource and role model for
residents and staff
Assisting Residential Life with special
events and department programs
Upholding university and department
standards
Serving in the on-call rotation for the hall
Up to a $10,500 scholarship
Reduced housing rate
Strengthening of
communication and
interpersonal skills
Professional development &
leadership opportunities
