Perfusion Pro is medical software that allows perfusionists to electronically collect, document, and report on events during open-heart surgeries. It provides an interface to input patient and case information during procedures. The software can also integrate with medical equipment to automatically import live data streams. 3. Perfusion Pro
Currently, the majority of perfusionists throughout the United States
use hand charting to generate reports, which document events in the
operating room during open-heart surgery procedures. Perfusion Pro
delivers an easy to use interface, provides complete patient and case
documentation, and integrates with new or existing equipment to log
case events. Licensing can be scaled from a single user to enterprise
environments spanning multiple facilities and operating rooms. Contact

5. Adding a new patient
Select the “Patients” menu button in the top menu bar. Here you can
search for patients by entering text into the search box. Search by patient
name, ID number, or keyword. Patient files can then be accessed to
update information. Collecting as much information as possible will
provide a more complete report and allow perfusionists to note trends,
allowing them to improve patient outcome and quality of care. A variety
of subsections can be accessed via the sidebar on the right side of the
screen. Each item offers unique patient data organized within logical

6. Creating a new case
Select the case button in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Choose a
patient from the drop-down box and fill in the details listed. The available
information, such as ID numbers, hospital, room, dates and admission
source are logged here. Once this data has been added, select the save
button at the top of the screen, just below the menu. Then the user can go
through the side menu, with options to log staff, equipment, supplies,
complications, previous procedures and more. The more information that
is collected the more powerful the data becomes. Analyzing the data later
to provide insight into trends and patterns requires logging as much data
as possible. Users are encouraged to log as much information as possible,
but it is not required. If documenting the case is all you need, simply
complete the fields required to meet your individual case documentation
requirements.

Radio buttons allow the user to
select from multiple options where
only one option can be selected at
a time.
Click the drop down menu to view
a list of options to select. Once you
select a choice, the menu will
collapse retaining your selection.
Either enter the date
MM/DD/YYYY or click the
calendar icon inside the textbox to
open the calendar view and
manually select the date.
Selecting the corresponding “yes”
radio button will enable access to
disabled menus. The disabled
menu items are not collected if the
“no” radio button is selected.

8. Collect Events
Perfusionists spend hours in surgery logging each event that occurs
during the procedure. Then they must enter that data into a report for
medical record requirements. Perfusion Pro collects this data live, and
eliminates the need for entering data after a long procedure. The event
collection screen is fully customizable to your group or individual needs,
and can pull data from devices directly. Any information not extracted

pressure field will turn red
prior to the next update,
informing the user that the data
has not changed since the last
update. This will remind the
user which fields need updated.
Pump timers continue to run,
even if you leave the
collection screen. Even if you
exit the application, your data
is safe.
Quickly edit or add data to
patient or case files using
these buttons from within
the Event Collection screen.
Data collection can be
customized to suit your
equipment, or your facility
requirements. Standardizing
your data collection will
result in more complete
reporting and less errors.
Collecting data then becomes
a powerful tool to research
trends and investigate
problems or improve patient
outcomes.

10. Reports
Generating reports is easy. Select the Reports button in the menu bar, which will
take you to the reporting screen. Choose which report you would like to use on the
right menu bar. Choose a recent case from the drop down menu, or search your
previous cases by typing keywords into the search box. Once you have chosen a
case, press the select button and the report options will be displayed. Data to be
included in the report will fill each corresponding field. Make any last minute
changes or add any additional data you wish to include and then press the button at
the top to “View Report”. The report will be generated as a PDF file.

11. Config
Selecting the Config Section will provide a long list of sidebar options. Users can edit hospital
information, equipment, supplies, staff, and others. Lab information can be customized and users
can build checklists to ensure procedures are followed and comply with rules and regulations.
Data
Users can connect a variety of equipment to Perfusion Pro for data collection. The Data button on
the Menu Bar leads to the setup screen for equipment and allows the user to interface with other
applications or devices. Once the device drivers are loaded into the computer, the user can then
configure the device to operate with Perfusion Pro’s built-in data collection. Patient and Case data
can be configured to output to another system or imported from other applications.
